I called service department to make sure if my Atlas has a free service included. I was on hold for 45 minutes and was told YES and doubled checked. I made an appointment and brought the car in for the 10k service. The service adviser told me that the car doesn't include a free service...WHAT?!?!?! I called the service department again while he's standing there and the perso on the other line told him "Phil" (another service adviser) confirmed that it was a free service but I still paid for the service. It get worse...months later the car has a recall. So I made an appointment a week in advance, when I took the car in, the service advisor (nice guy) told me we have to order the part and it won't be here until tomorrow. You have a whole WEEK to order the part and now you telling me the car will not be ready until tomorrow. This dealership with the service department is SO INCOMPETENT and will not advice you to take your car there! Never again!!!! read more

I owe Emily, a salesperson at the dealership, a positive review. She helped me lease a car just before Christmas and it has taken me a while to do this...so here it is. I had a 2018 VW Passat coming up in February 2021, but I heard there were some good deals in December. My intention was to move to an Audi vehicle, but then I saw the Atlas Cross Sport SEL Premium R-Line. Beautiful vehicle and it had the space I needed for my family. The 2020 model was a rare car to find. Only a few dealers had it, and if they did, they typically only had one or two. It was even more rare to find one in a color other than black. I spoke to several dealers, even Oakland VW, whom I originally got my 2018 Passat. All the dealers I spoke to were giving me outrageous quotes, not willing to negotiate. At first, Dublin VW was no different. I spoke to a gentleman named Howard and he assured me he would call me back in 5 minutes. I spoke with Howard about five times and each time he said he would call me back and never did. I thought after the 3rd time he would recognize who I was. Finally, good 'ol Emily calls me, only she was not returning my call, she was just calling because she saw I had inquired online. I told her about my bad experience and she told me she would take care of me. And she did. Look, eventually, there was a dealer in Sacramento that was willing to work with me, but Emily went above and beyond to earn my business. I mentioned I had a 2018 VW Passat and the lease was up in February. Emily couldn't trade in my lease early, so instead, she had VW write me a $700 check to make up for the lease payments I would have to pay in January and February. In addition, she gave me approximately 10% off of the MSRP. She had to ship the car I wanted from Los Angeles...she went through lengths. Thank you, Emily, for making salvaging my experience, not just with your dealer, but with VW in general. You not only saved me money on the car I wanted, but I was getting ready to bite the higher price tag bullet and lease a car with Audi instead. That said, Dublin VW, you should work a bit more on customer service. You cannot expect everyone to be like me and give you guys a 6th chance. We already bought our second car there. While the service with the first one (2019) was not quite what we would expect, we gave them a second chance when we bought our new car in July this year. And this time customer service was above and beyond! They showed us about 15 cars and did not stop until we found the right one. The sales associate, as well as the sales manager were more than friendly and accommodating and while you see the natural urge to do business, as you see with every business, we never felt "pushed to purchase" which you get at a lot of other places. ORIGINAL I made an appointment a week in advance to program a replacement key. When I arrived as scheduled, the person at the service desk told me that all technicians were "on lunch," that "as you can see, other people are ahead of you," and that it would be at least three hours before they would do this incredibly basic procedure. He then offered to "help out" by scheduling another appointment, as if that were somehow a solution. Disingenuous and disrespectful. On top of all of this, they charge $175 to program a key they charge $200 to purchase, all of which cannot be done outside of a dealership because for some reason that anti-competitive monopoly activity isn't illegal. If you want to experience it for yourself come and see VW of Dublin. Internet sales have been around for many years and are now a fairly common part of the car buying experience. My initial experience with VW of Dublin started off like all other experiences. I requested a quote on a particular car through their web site and negotiated a deal over the internet/email. I confirmed the deal over the phone. Their quote was one of the better quotes that I received. This is where all the positives end. I had confirmed that I will be arriving at the dealership an hour before the scheduled time. I arrived at the dealership at the scheduled time to see the 'internet sales manager' Emily. She wasn't prepared to see me or sell the car. The car we were discussing the evening before was 'magically' sold, I believe she mentioned it got sold a few days ago and wasn't updated in the system, she said it wasn't her fault. Emily didn't bother checking to see if the car was available the morning of my arrival when she texted me a reminder and didn't bother letting me know that the car was sold when we were discussing that particular stock number the night before. I texted her a link to the car we were discussing When she started looking for a car, 15 minutes later she brought out a white vehicle and the car we had discussed was supposed to be grey. When I said that the color is a deal-breaker and it's not the car we were discussing this whole time, she proceeded to give me an attitude and asked if the color makes a huge difference..........at this point I was speechless and began walking away. She began raising her voice saying come back inside and we can figure this out. At this point, I was curious about the next step and how dysfunctional and poorly run this dealership is and wanted to see how much more they can screw up Emily came back with a piece of paper and wanted to confirm the #s negotiated and wanted to run numbers again with her manager. She also wanted me to fill out a credit application on the car that was stored in their warehouse without getting the lease figures confirmed. I asked what happened to the deal we had negotiated and she confirmed over the phone. She couldn't give me a solid answer and I said goodbye and went outside Emily's manager runs after me as I'm outside and asking why I'm leaving. I expressed my disappointment with what had just transpired. He did admit that they dropped the ball and should have told me that the car I was after wasn't available. He offered to bring a car from Benicia and I explained to him that I have no confidence in them getting it right. He wasn't overly pushy but he clearly failed to understand that they lost me as a customer and further persuading wasn't nessesary. I told him that I will be getting a car from another dealer. My visit at Volkswagen of Dublin was horrible. I wanted to do a trade in and the manager tried to low ball me on the value of my car and offered me much less than my car was worth. I was originally offered $9,500 on my trade in. When I called him out for the low offer he offered me $10,500. On top of that he did not do his job of running my credit and shopping for a car loan for me. All he did was come out with a piece of paper telling me my monthly payment on the used car I was inquiring about would be $500 a month. I left and went to another dealership and got $13,200 for my trade in and got the same type of used car for $287 a month. I'd been helping my daughter search for a jeep wrangler for months when we saw a listing at Dublin VW. We contacted them and Emily immediately helped us setup an appointment (middle of COVID and all). On arrival, she took great care of us and let us know the vehicle was a recent trade-in. After a test drive, we were set, but due to my daughter's limited budget, we weren't sure it would work. Noori was super helpful and without pressure helped us reach a number that was both fair and attainable. Dmitriy easily guided us through the paperwork, and we were done before we knew it. Before leaving Noori and Emily helped us take some "red bow" pictures out front, which was really sweet. As we're getting ready to leave, Emily runs out and tells us to wait, then reminds us that there's not enough gas to get home and gives us a voucher for the station around the corner. So considerate! Then the story gets better because as we're filling the Jeep, we meet Omar the GM who recognizes the Wrangler, and congratulates my daughter on getting the vehicle EVERYONE seemed to want. My husband and I had a pretty bad experience during the purchasing process. I was offended by the sales person coming back from seeing my car and him making an inappropriate comment about it. They low balled our Corolla for the trade-in (lower than the Kelly blue book price range) and had to fight hard with them for a higher trade-in value. Instead of matching or giving us a better trade-in, they denied the trade-in offer printout that we got from VW Oakland. The sales person said it doesn't count because it's not an official trade-in offer. They wrote down the interest percentage on a piece of paper before even checking my credit. It wasn't until we demanded printed documents did we see anything more official. We lost trust in the VW sales person and were on high alert the rest of the purchasing process. It was uncomfortable and we only went through with this because it was a relatively good deal for the CPO Tiguan we were purchasing. A few things to note when going to this dealership: They do not give you a full tank of gas for any CPO cars and do not trust what is shown in photos on their CPO cars. The Tiguan we bought had a privacy cover shown in the images and video clip. We already lack trust in VW through the experience we had at the dealership, so I took screenshots (please see attached photos) before they took down the advertisement in case they denied that it was in the car. I know that this is my car because of the defect on the screen that had the same URL. Indeed, the dealership denied that it was included in the car and claimed that their photographer placed it in there to show customers what accessories could be available for the car. I told them that this was false advertisement. I was told that I had to ask if certain things in the pictures are included even if they're shown in the photo. Do I have to ask about everything in the photo if they are included? Weeks of countless messages were sent to VW on facebook and calls with the VW Dublin dealership sales people and VW customer care. At the very end, we escalated this to a VW case manager. In the end, we were given a $100 gift card which wasn't even enough to cover the privacy cover ($180) and the emotional trauma but we didn't want to waste more time on this. The main point of this review is to warn future VW buyers. Beware that you won't be getting service at the Dublin VW that you'll get at other dealerships (such as Toyota, Honda, Ford and Mazda) and also be sure to ask if certain things in the photos are included because Dublin VW CPO car advertisement photos can be misleading and doesn't come with the things they display on their images. read more

This is specifically for the service department, I didn't step foot on the sales floor nor did I talk to anyone from sales. I purchased a brand new Jetta GLI "autobahn" from Dirito Volkswagen in Walnut Creek and had issues with it immediately (same day) with interior rattles and a bad alignment. to make the story short, I had Dirito VW look at the issues and they were quite incompetent... I waited 4 hours there to get the car done and they refused to do anything with the alignment. VW assigned me a case manager and everything prior to that because I left a scathing review on the car (product) itself... When I told the case manager I still had rattles and the alignment was still bad I was advised to take it to another dealership, Which would be Dublin VW. Mike Capas was the advisor I worked with and after a run down of everything, I was prepared for another long wait... Even buying a bagel and coffee from starbucks to put me over in the waiting area. But they had different plans... They gave me a loaner car. I was not expecting that, I got loaner cars for other cars before (BMW, Audi, Chevrolet and Nissan) but based how I waited 4 hours at Dirito VW I thought I would be in for the same long wait. I got to eat my bagel at home and drink my coffee as I drove home. My only gripe was that the loaner car had a mild unpleasant scent and it looked like it was not cleaned, particularly with this virus going around I was expecting a sanitized car... But upon touching something similar to projectile from a sneeze on the touch screen, I pulled over grabbed my bag of sanitization wipes that I carry with me and wiped everything down. The white 80% alcohol sanitization wipes turned dark gray as I went over the steering wheel and gear selector knob... Nasty, but I was just happy to have gotten something to drive while my car was being worked on. It was a fairly decent car while surprisingly slow (didn't think the jump from 1.4T to 2.0T was that significant), It was a 2019 Jetta R-Line. They found some of the rattling and it would take a little while to fix it and they got the car on the alignment rack and found the toe camber was off (i knew it!)... They fixed the rattling they found and the alignment without any fighting for free (alignment is not covered under warranty even if the car had only 1k miles at the time of service). But when Mike called to tell me it was ready he mentioned they didn't find the door rattling, so I told him to play a certain song... 3 minutes later i get the notification that the drivers door opened... 2 minutes later... door closed... 5 minutes later he calls me and says yeah that did the trick, they heard the rattling. They already signed the car off at this point so it was going to take a while to get it looked at and this was I believe a Friday, Saturday they were apparently swamped and didn't get to it, closed Sunday and on Monday they were looking in to it and didn't have it done until Tuesday. It took a couple days but they fixed it and I had a car to get around in for the time being, So overall I'm glad they took their time with it and fixed everything and were courteous and professional the entire time. read more

Bought a white 2016 VW E-Golf. Truth is the price was great! Fact is, it was too good to be true. Within the first month of buying the car I heard a squealing noise and soft grinding from the brakes, but I did read online that brake dust is known to accumulate on the rotors and it burns off after time. I ended up taking it to my local VW dealer for a check up... they found the pads were brand new but the calipers were installed wrong. The service writer at my local dealership confirmed a squealing is common due to the design of the rims not allowing much air to flow thru the brake. I've owned the vehicle 5 months now... the squealing is still there. So why does the dealership get only three stars from me? First, whoever safety checked this vehicle missed the brake issue... and second, though the salesman, finance and sales manager were courteous, it was apparent they just wanted me in and out because I wasn't buying any extra's. The whole process of buying a car is as archaic as it ever was since the last time I had the displeasure of buying a car over 10 years ago. I only went through with it this time because I found a good deal and I naively thought things would be better and more efficient now that we live in the modern age. I haven't been more wrong since that one time I assumed the nearly expired cheese from Trader Joes was still good (but that's another story). The stupid mind games began as soon as I called to inquire about the availability of the vehicle, "Oh yes, DOZENS of people have called about this car so far, you better come in quick". The silliness didn't end when I made the drive to check out the car. "I have a few people coming today to look at the car, too. Better hurry". Or even when I was there, "We have an appointment on the way right now in case you don't want this". Spoiler alert: Absolutely nobody came to look at the car the entire time I was there. The torture begins once you decide to make a purchase. I came in with my car loan already funded by my Credit Union, however they still wanted me to fill out a LOAN APPLICATION. The manager fumbled his words, unable to adequately explain WHY I had to fill out an application for a loan when I already had one approved in my hands. The manager even tried to convince me to get a loan through them even though their rate was way higher. LOL. After the initial torture, we had to wait almost 2 hours because the finance guy was with another family. Think about that- 2 hours of waiting around doing nothing except build resentment on why the process is so inefficient. Once we finally get to the finance guy, I encountered a barrage of upselling, warranty-this, coverage-that, only to be met by his bitterness when turned down- like a spoiled child who's upset when you decline to buy their week-old lemonade. The entire process was 4-5 hours of pure torture in addition to the commute to the dealership. It also took me 6+ months to receive my plates because the dealer was too lazy/unorganized to submit the proper paperwork to the DMV. Do yourselves all a favor and NEVER buy from a dealership. Instead, look into Carvana, Carfax, or similar, as they make the process super fast, super easy, and super MODERN. Car dealerships: Never again. read more

After many months of communication and escalation and taking legal action, finally, the CFO of the company was nice enough to resolve the issue. This review is about their service department. The car that I leased for my sister has 4120 miles and it is 8 months old. She is getting "Oil Change" message every time the engine turns on/off. I took the car to the dealership today morning. The service advisor checked and told me the car is not due for service. The message is related to low oil or the car computer was not reset at the time of sales. Go and check the oil. If the oil level is OK then reset the service light. What??? Shouldn't you check the car with 4K miles and see why the oil is low or why the service light comes up? NO. He said I need to check the oil! I don't think VW America cares about customers' satisfaction and I know this review does not change anything.
