This place is really good! Their omelets are a good size and they have many options. You can get 2 sides with their omelets. Their pancakes are huge and could be a meal in itself if you get it as a side! (You can also get double pancakes if you want it as both of your sides). They have a large menu so you're sure to find something you'll like. I've also had their french toast which is really tasty and perfectly sweet but not too sweet. Their home fries are like a big hasbrown that has smooth potatoes but has a crunchy exterior/top. The inside of this place is small but they also have a good amount of outdoor seating if you're willing to eat outside. Plan to wait a bit when you come because they get busy! read more

Everything about eggs, etc. was amazing. The food was great. Big portions, frankly, you could share a plate. The service was amazing. They continuously offered to refill the coffee even offering a coffee to go. Sweet, friendly and checking in on us often. An overall great experience. A lot of options for vegetarians. I did not feel rushed at all. Why would you go anywhere else? read more

This place surprised me. I was not expecting a menu with so many options. The restaurant is cute inside very small and quaint. They had amazing options and their prices were reasonable. I could see this being a good regular spot for locals in the area. The potatoes were amazing. The coffee was also good and hot. Service was ok. Nothing over the top, a little slow but there was only one guy working the whole restaurant.. I would return for sure. I'll. Have to go and see how their omelettes are. read more

Friendly staff and fast service. Came here on a Friday afternoon and was seated immediately. We usually see a line out the door on the weekends so arrive early!!! Inside is small but they have a large outdoor patio. They have a pretty large selection for breakfast. I was torn between the Baja Omelette with Soyrizo 5/5 and California Benedict's. I ended up getting the Baja Omelette since their omelette dishes comes with your choice of two sides. As you can see their pancakes are huge. The banana pancakes 3/5 were pretty good, not the best pancakes I've had. Also their syrup doesn't have much flavor to it. The side of fruits 5/5 were so fresh and delicious, had a nice variety of melon, pineapples and strawberries. I will be back to try their Benedict's and Granola Pancake. Beware of street sweeping on Fridays around 12pm!!! We came out just in time and avoided a ticket. read more

No idea how this place has a 3.5 rating. CJ greeted us and was amazing from start to finish. The food was great! My parents chug coffee Like a V12 chugs gas, Cj came multiple times to refill (Most places they have to ask). Best Home Fries we've had. Pancakes are top tier! The Hollandaise sauce was I've had some pretty bad ones, this one was great. Good ambiance as well. My partner and child are extremely picky with French toast they absolutely loved it. read more

Yes! We've driven by this place many times and commented on the name. Finally we pulled up Yelp to see the great reviews! Well here's another one! We drove around the block and found street parking. The patio is completely covered with ample shade to beat the summer's glare. Our dog was welcome and made friends with another big dog at the table next to us. We ordered 1 meal to share which was plenty is food for us. We split the chorizo omelette as a scramble, 2 sides are included so we carbed out with a pancake and biscuit and gravy. Taking off a star because the biscuit was awful. Why on why do restaurants nuke them to serve them warm? It changes the texture and was not good. The gravy was a bit sour which was its only flavor. If we had corn tortillas or something else, this would be a 5 star review. Service was good, and we didn't wait long. Will definitely come back when in the LBC. read more

My husband and I have been patronizing Eggs Etc. for at LEAST 20 years! We moved away from Long Beach over 14 years ago, but have been here the past two weekends! The food is still SOLID - and now they have this amazing breakfast bowl with grits! It's so YUM!! Although I would probably skip the scallions next time! I always get the Popeye Omelet with additions consisting of sour cream, avocado, and ground beef and its excellent. Double home fries as the side along with an ice water w/lemon. Always good service but will advise to get here earlier than later. Usually a timeframe between 8am-9 is best/ideal. Enjoy. read more

Fantastic brunch! We decided to check this place out on a girls weekend after driving past it so many times. The first thing I was excited for was the pancakes, but given my track record with going to brunch spots that serve undercooked pancakes we were weary of each ordering a side, so we decided to share, but by the end of the meal we all wished we would have just ordered our own because they were soo good and perfectly cooked! As for my scramble, I thoroughly enjoyed! The eggs Benedict were well done but the Hollandaise sauce was not the best, my cousin had to add ketchup just to give it more flavor. One thing I really appreciate is that they are not stingy with their avocado slices!! Honestly, their house pico de Gallo was really good too. One thing I might add was that their service was quite slow, it seemed like they are/were dealing with staff shortages. But our food still made it to our table not too late. Nice Spot! Came here for the first time it was delicious. I had the hobo omelette with the home style potatoes, and a pancake everything was good. It was seasoned really well. It had plenty of vegetables and cheese in the omelette and the service was very good. They seated us in a timely manner, and everyone was really nice. We sat inside because it was still a little chilly, but I will be back in the summer to sit out on the patio. The atmosphere was very nice. I will be back! read more

I drove by Eggs Etc in Long Beach for years before actually stopping in. It was always packed on weekends, but my true breakfast love had always been Potholder. Still adore Potholder, but I always felt they did better with their wackier options than just the classic breakfast fare. When I finally sat down at Eggs Etc, I was pleasantly surprised to find how good their basics are. I've been a few times now whenever I've had a craving for eggs, potatoes, and a pancake. Their omelettes are always cooked perfectly (my fave is to get the Three Cheese and add in bacon and spinach). Their house potatoes could be a meal on their own - dense, flavorful, crispy, and seasoned beautifully. They have a sign outside advertising their banana pancakes. I am pleased to say they are worth the try. They're simple - nothing fancy or extremely sugary about them - but they have a great ratio of big banana chunks to buttermilk batter. They're exactly what you'd make at home, but just a liiiiittle bigger and better, which is sometimes all I want from a spot like this. Service has been both great and curious. Waiters are usually really thoughtful and polite, constantly checking to see if we need refills. One time, though, we were seated by a manager or possibly an owner who spent the first five minutes telling us what NOT to do at our table (like splitting checks certain ways, ordering certain customizations, changing seats, taking prolonged time before paying)... which was really strange, because we weren't planning on ordering any differently or indicated any changes. Sometimes you just catch folks on a bad day, though. What you see is exactly what you get at Eggs Etc. Don't come in ready to be knocked out by innovation, but if you want that classic breakfast done right, they're the ones to try. read more

I used to love going to this place but now they can't be bothered to pick up their phone. If I could order food, I might give them 5 stars, unless for some reason the food changed, but apparently they don't want my business... annoyed. 15+ mins later: Ok so wife really wants to try it again after so many years so I go to the business to order there and wait. I ask why they won't answer the phone and they say that their phone is not working right so I call right then and of course it rings.. then they say oh, well we're really busy.. ok, great business model. When I called earlier, I rang for about 5 mins, 3 separate times.. what business does not answer after that much ringing?? Then, before I could order, which I was questioning as I see flies landing on their drying rack and dishes, some inside patron lectures me on not having a mask. I try and explain that I couldn't find the mask in my car or else I would be wearing it, that I am fully vaccinated, and that, if the business wants me to leave, they can tell me so.. of course the workers say nothing and this guy keeps berating me. So I leave unsuccessful after trying for 30 minutes. I will never come back. Not a good experience. You get one star only because I can't give you zero.. no food, no stars. Oh, and, in addition to answering your phone, fix your damn website! Come on.. amateurs. P.S. this is so funny as I have been super paranoid and distanced from everyone.. I wear gloves when pumping gas for crying out loud.. the one time I forget my mask and can't find car backup I get hassled.. made me feel for those who purposely don't wear masks even though I've always thought they were idiots.. turns out all people are a-holes on both sides.. classic. read more

Just had a meal at Eggs etc., and I have to say I was disappointed. I come here regularly and normally things are great, but this time things were very slow. When the food did arrive, both meals were cold. The only thing warm was the French toast. Unfortunately, it appears that the rest of the food was made first and left to chill while waiting on French toast. With coffee the meal was approximately $20 / person. Again, not indicative of these folks overall but today was a big miss. I do think that they knew the food was cold or getting cold because they brought it out first, and then later brought the French toast. The eggs and sides were cold when they arrived. I think rather than remake the food they tried to "save it" by sending it out once they noticed it had begun to cool off. It's a shame really. read more

Prompt friendly service. Pretty large menu with lots of breakfast choices. Pretty well attended by patrons so it aparently has return customers. Food was well presented and tasty. The pancakes were gigantic and almost too big to eat, at least in one setting. Classic restaurant or cafe set up, with even outdoor dining for those so inclined. read more

The word brunch is not high on my list of beautiful words unless by brunch hour you mean two p.m. Sunday morning is an active "bottomless mimosa pouring scene" in Long Beach. perhaps the fact that there is no alcohol served here enables one to be seated without facing a long line. That is a big plus. The servers are as pleasant and prompt as they were on our first visit. I didn't see any unhappy people regarding the busy take out. Or were they there to make deliveries only as per the info listed? The Southwestern omelette is downright delicious, maintaining it's stars. I'm a hot cake, pancake purist and did read high praise for what's off the griddle. The hot cakes here will satisfy the gussied-up banana, blueberry, chocolate crowd. The insertion of fruit et al might balance and hold down that fluffiness. I equate "fluffy" with the cotton batting used to upholster dinner seats. And these are fluffier than I like. But I am probably in the minority in this opinion. The lamented Long Beach Café made tender pancakes to my liking with generous real cruets of real syrup. The $8 full stack portion is extremely generous and I got through about a third. Experimental desert will be made with the leftovers. I'll stick with their delicious California spuds and also skip the unimpressive coffee. They take cash only, again, contrary to info they provide. read more

Wow My husband ordered the country mix with sausage and when they brought it out there was no sausage so my husband asked where is the sausage and the waiter said see that speck that's sausage. It was horrible service. Never will return and do not recommend. read more

Ruth started out with her first breakfast place in Long Beach back in 1977 on Anaheim Street. She has had several different locations over the years but has been at this current location for about ten years. Today Ruth is semiretired, although you can find her there most days! Her daughters Tammy and Pam along with her Grandson's Josh and Brandon are now carrying on the family tradition.

I asked if the latte was sweet and they said it wasn't. After the first sip I could just taste all sweetness no espresso. Recreational coffee do you guys add espresso to the lattes? I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. My wife had their brunch version of a Corpse Reviver cocktail. After our meals were done we finished with an Irish coffee since everyone was ordering them. Perfect service, relaxing atmosphere, and delicious food will definitely have me returning very soon! Parking is free for 2 hours at the nearby garage on 3rd and is a very short walk. The closer garage on Broadway is not free. You can make restaurant reservations on their website but it wasn't needed when we went.

The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience. I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think it's something that is worth the visit if you've never been and you enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.
