So my first time at Eggslut was a few years ago at Grand Central Market, braving the hour long wait. I was a little hesitant to come to this new location knowing how long the wait probably would be, especially on a Saturday. Surprisingly, at 3PM there was literally no wait, only 2 people ahead of us. I ordered the Fairfax while my boyfriend had the cheeseburger with avocado. We easily found a seat, but I'd imagine it'd be super crowded during peak hours. After ordering it didn't take too long to get our food. The brioche bun is nice and light, and goes along well with the light and fluffy eggs in the Fairfax. There's not much texture to it though, so I think adding bacon for $2.50 could make all the difference. Overall, a yummy late lunch while visiting LA for the day. I'd highly suggest waiting til the afternoon to go to avoid long lines and crowds if you don't mind having breakfast sandwiches that late. read more

Finally got to try Eggslut for the first time after hearing about it for years and I think that it was definitely good, but it is a victim of its own hype. As with anything that is hyped these days and has a line, it's good, but not amazing. I got here at 8 am on a Sunday and there was no line if people are interested in knowing when to come to beat the line. Also I see that people are complaining that they're being stereotyped and asked for ID on payment, I was asked as well and not a part of a normally stereotyped demographic, so I think it is just company policy. Got to try the Fairfax, a sausage, egg, & cheese, and the famous slut. I actually preferred the sausage, egg, & cheese sandwich over the more recommended Fairfax, but they were both great. The bread on both is excellent and I really enjoyed the spicy mayo on the Fairfax. The slut was kind of a let down, the best part about it was the bread imo, too expensive for what it is. All in all I debated about giving this place a 3 v 4 star, but I think that objectively it is a 4 and I just want to give it a 3 because it didn't live up to the hype. Food here is impeccable! Everything I have tried on the menu is amazing. The flavors are fantastic and the ingredients are clearly so fresh. Everything is made fresh to order and you can see the cooks making the food. Nothing is frozen. My personal favorite is the Fairfax sandwich. It consists of a soft and melt in your mouth brioche bun, scrambled eggs with chives, cheese, spicy mayonnaise, and i add the avocado. It is TO. DIE. FOR. I also tried the arugula side salad last time... this was good also but very plain. Just arugula, cheese, and a vinaigrette dressing. I was super excited to try this place out. I have seen so many of my friends post about this place, and many YouTubers doing food reviews on it. When I went to EggSlut, there wasn't a line for food, but it had very limited seating space, since their was people studying at the shop too. I didn't realized until after ordering that they validate valet parking, and I didn't need to park in the Beverly Center parking garage. I decided to order the Slut and the Fairfax. - The Slut; It was very potato-y, yet tasted eggy. The bread was dry, yet crispy, but it was a little hard to chew through it, since my jaws were started to hurt. When the piece of bread was dipped into this eggy dip, it was very simple tasting. It didn't really have much flavor to it. The dip was a funky texture that I didn't really enjoy though. - The Fairfax; It was simple, yet tasted really good. I decided to add bacon for an extra cost, and it gave the sandwich a salty crunch to each bite. The eggs were so soft, and it just melts into your mouth like butter. I loved my experience at eggslut! Two friends and I stopped by the Beverly Grove for brunch on Friday morning. Seating is pretty limited at this location but we were able to grab a table near the neon sign in the back when a couple other ladies left. I ordered the Slut for us to share, as well as a Fairfax with avocado and bacon for myself. The Slut was delicious -- I loved the mixture of the coddled egg with the potato puree! The only reason this review isn't five stars is that $9 plus tax feels like a somewhat steep price for three slices of baguette and a small jar of egg/potato spread; if it came with more toasted bread on the side, it might not feel that way. As it is, the dish itself is delicious. Just unsure if it's worth the $9. The breakfast sandwich was delicious; I'd never tried such a thing on brioche before, but I was so full by the end. The scrambled eggs were a little cold by the time I started eating, but were fluffy in consistency and had great flavor. Also loved the amount of bacon and avocado stuffed inside the sandwich. Get here early before the breakfast rush and you shouldn't have to wait long in line to order. There's usually enough seating for everyone, including on the countertop and tables in the back. I often crave breakfast sandwiches, so Eggslut is a perfect spot for me to get that fix. It can get messy, because egg yolk might squirt out, but that's part of the fun. I lick my hands to make sure I don't waste any yolk. And I should probably invest in a bib, too. Their food is fresh and it's best when you eat them while they're hot. Their freshly squeezed orange juice goes perfectly with the sandwiches. That being said, 1) it closes at 3pm, so forget it if you want to grab it after work/school, 2) it does not have potatoes on the menu, like WHY? That would totally complement the sandwich and it would be a nice meal. I have been wanting to try Eggsult for a while, but haven't gotten around to doing so until today! Before coming here, I have read a good amount of yelp reviews - and it was a mixed bag (some say this place is overhyped, others say it's great!). As you can see from my rating, I'm in the "it's great" camp. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with avocado, and fresh orange juice. The lady at the cashier was nice and asked if I wanted to add avocado after I ordered my sandwich. I would probably have forgotten to order it with my sandwich if she hasn't asked. There were limited seats, mostly bar stools and there were three tables in the back of the restaurant. It wasn't crowded when I went at 10am in the morning, but there was a slow line forming at around 10:30am on a Friday. Food wise, the sandwich combination was close to perfect. The bacon was so crispy with just the right amount of saltiness to it. After every bite, I found myself wanting more and savoring it. The sandwich is balanced between the saltiness of the bacon, tanginess of the sauce, smoothness of the avocado, aroma of the fried egg, and the stickiness of the cheese. The only thing I would have preferred is to have the buns, egg and cheese a little more heated (who doesn't love extra melty cheese?) - especially on a cold winter morning. I've read about how messy it would get while eating this sandwich, but I was pleasantly surprised to say that it wasn't that messy at all! However, I arrived around 1030/11 and didn't have to wait at all which was nice. The menu is simple, you can have a variety of egg sandwiches, a cheeseburger, the "slut" (essentially a poached egg on top of mashed potatoes in a jar) or a salad. The sandwiches come on a brioche bun, which is actually really good. The most popular items are the slut, the Fairfax and the classic bacon, eggs and cheese. Overall the flavors are good. The egg is nice runny and the bacon is crispy. The ketchup concoction in the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was a bit too sweet for my liking.
