Can't beat happy hour specials on a Sunday afternoon. Walked in hungry and thirsty. We were sat immediately. Comfortable seating and positive vibes. Started with their rib tips with a side salad. The rib tips were delicious. The salad had too much cheese for me. But the veggies were fresh and good. My little one had a burger and she was happy. Drank a couple of pints. Cold beer and great service. For what we needed they met our expectations.

Dave's BBQ is located on Pine St at the Shoreline Village, Came here for Lunch. The bad: We were served day-old ribs; they were hard and tough to chew. Not fresh. Serving day-old ribs is not good business. They attempted to reassure us they were fresh, but it was not true. We are not a BBQ expert but we know fresh meat when we have some. The Corn Bread Cupcake was good. So was the cole slaw, the Brisket Salad was ok, the good meat was on top while the fatty meat was at the bottom. The beer was good and the service was ok. We felt coming early might not be a good idea.

My family and I visited "Famous Dave's" at Shoreline Village in Long Beach, CA for Father's Day 2026. There was only a 30 minute wait which was not bad for Father's Day. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. There was a longer wait than usual to get our food but it was very good and fresh once we received it. The six of us were pleased with our food. We had ribs, fried chicken, brisket, catfish tacos, burgers, chicken tenders & more. Parking is plentiful. There is a large parking structure, valet parking and metered street parking. Please keep in mind that Shoreline Village gets busy during the summer, weekends and holidays. If you having a craving for some good food, I recommend this restaurant. As a bonus, there is retail shopping available in the Village area, kiosk booths & across from the restaurant at the Pike. There is also a variety of other restaurants, an aquarium, harbor cruises, swan boats, a movie and comedy theater & more in the shoreline area. It's a great place for dates and family time. For the entire Summer, there is a great DJ in the Village area from 1:00PM to 5:00PM just in case you want to get your boogie on and burn off some calories from all the good food.

    Lunch 3 MEAT COMBO

Service was good, went on a not so busy day. Sat by the bar and plenty of seating for groups or at the bar seating. Ordered the 3 combo lunch special. Cheese curds - 5/10 St Louis Ribs - little over cooked but the rub was very good and add some spicy sauce too it. 6/10 Brisket - 6/10 Fried fish - 7/10 Cornbread muffin - 7/10 Mac & cheese - 6/10 Overall rating is a - C+

Food The food was okay. The first baby backs were supposed to be dry rubbed which refers to the seasoning but shouldn't cause the rib meat from being overly dried out. Staff tried telling me the ribs were dry because of the seasoning (like this was my first time eating ribs). Lol. However the substitute style was moist and flavorful. See pic. The greens, mac & cheese, and chili weren't bad. Service Our server Jorge was really good, friendly, and attentive. The hostess was rude and condescending both times she spoke with us. First time we gave her grace and just didn't reply but the 2nd time I had to back her up. Lol. If ever in town again I might order through a delivery service but I probably won't dine there again. The restaurant is well situated at The Pike. Not sure about parking since we walked from the hotel.

I came here for the first time since I had a coupon for it and figured I would give it a try. I found the food to be just ok, decent but nothing special. For the coupon price it was worth it, but I definitely wouldn't want to pay full price. But I will say our server Mario was wonderful. He really made my boyfriend and I feel welcome and taken care of. The restaurant itself has nice decor that fit the BBQ theme and it was definitely nice to sit in the AC on a hot day. They validated our parking ticket for the parking structure across the street which is nice and makes coming here more worth it.

This location has always been consistent with the quality of service and bbq. Server Mario who calls himself Famous Mario should be called Super Mario. He was able to take very good care of his assigned tables, cover the bar area, and do the outside patio. This young man has fantastic work ethic. Made for an enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend this location!!!

Didn't intend on stopping here but glad that we did. We were immediately seated but it took well over 10 minutes to get greeted by our server. It wasn't as busy as it could get so the vibe was the chill before the storm. The rib platter was delicious but our eyes were definitely larger than our appetites. Come prepared to eat or have extra for take out. T

We ordered a feast for 2 with smoked chicken and ribs and payed a little extra for brisket. The potatoe wedges were fresh and we substituted the Wilbur beans for chili beans. The corn bread was so good we ordered a 6 pack to go. The ribs had great flavor and brisket was good too

Oh-Em-Gee! The food was so delicious especially the corn bread because I ordered a 6-pack to go. My sister, niece and I came here right after our cruise. My family stayed at Hyatt Centric before they flew home. Anyway, we had time to grab lunch before I get picked up to go home so we did a little shopping and walked along shoreline. Initially we were looking for Yard House but it seemed to be further down and we were hungry so we settled for this restaurant. It was a good decision because everything on the platter was so good. It says the platter feeds 2-3 people but we had a lot of left over to feed two more people. The platter had corn, beans, cornbread, fries, chicken, ribs, coleslaw and brisket. We ordered a side of garlic mashed potatoes and it was delicious. I also ordered an ice tea. So it's about $80 for 3 people. Service was great and ambiance was good.

Quite a bit better than last time. Was able to use both of our BOGO entree coupons, with no problems using it across the four of us with two separate checks. With it, the meals became a good value. Pint of Blue Moon on tap ($9.50) - continues to be one of my favorite beers, good with barbeque. Black Cherry Fizz with Tito's Vodka ($5) - definitely happy hour prices for this drink, well worth it. 4 bone STL Louis Rib Platter ($22.99) - comes with two sides. The ribs were very good, meaty with a bit of chew, and the right amount of BBQ glazed sauce. The cole slaw was OK, the baked beans were good, the steak fries were excellent, and our friend really liked the sweet corn on the cob. The corn bread muffin was good, exactly the way it tastes at home when made from their brand muffin mix. 2 meat combo ($26.99) - chose beef brisket, chopped pork, 1/4 bbq chicken, Southside rib tips. Sides were grilled pineapple, fries, macaroni and cheese, and broccoli. I got a taste of the grilled pineapple which tasted like you would imagine (surprised more meat centric restaurants don't do this). Service was solid.

The food was great, I had a 2 meat combo, it included tasty beans and a side salad. My husband on the other hand had chicken, ribs and chili which was also surprisingly good as well. The drinks were pretty basic, I had a peach Jameson, and a Hennessy Margarita, nothing to brag about, average. Our server Mario was straight comedy, he told us everything we ordered was not available, when it really was... Place was buzzing, folks watching the game. Overall it was great experience,

The pineapple added to what's basically a Cuban style sandwich sounds different at first, but it works perfectly. The balance of sweet, savory, crispy, and smoky was spot on. Ended up finishing the whole thing because it was that good. Service was friendly, food came out quick, and the whole spot had a really chill local vibe. Definitely a hidden gem if you're in the area. Highly recommend this place and I'll for sure be back to try more off the menu.

We ordered a couple chopped cheeses, fries, onion rings, and chicken nuggets for the little one. Everything was delicious. The crispiness of all the fries foods were spot on. They offered up some delicious homemade sauces, and their cilantro one is bomb (not spicy but a little tangy). The chopped cheese was melty and delicious, and the bread had a nice chewy texture. I've been wanting to try NYC Chop Cheese since they opened. Unfortunately, this first visit was…read morerough enough to make curiosity feel like a mistake. I got the 10-inch chopped cheese combo. The sandwich had a few positives: good amount of beef, tender meat, cheese melted in well and the bread was genuinely great. Soft, chewy, flavorful and easily the best thing here. Everything after that started falling apart. The sandwich was rich and oily but didn't have enough seasoning, acidity or heat to balance it. There were faint hints of cumin and the salt level was fine, but overall it tasted like it was trying to coast on grease. The lettuce and tomato added nothing, and even the cilantro sauce couldn't cut through the oily aftertaste. If you do try it, add onions, pickles and jalapeños because the base sandwich badly needs backup. The fries looked good, then delivered absolutely nothing. Barely seasoned, smaller portion than expected and somehow had a weird burnt aftertaste despite looking normal. That takes effort. Service was the real disaster. The person helping me acted annoyed, like customers were an unfortunate side effect of running a restaurant. The menu board shows combo pricing for some items, like burgers, but not sandwiches, so the chopped cheese combo pricing was unclear. The drink situation was ridiculous. The board says $2.99 for a 24 oz drink and the soda machine was right there, but I was handed a 12 oz can with no heads-up that the machine wasn't available. That's not a substitute. Full size promise for a half-size reality. For $22.03 total, that made the whole combo feel even worse value-wise. Food took almost 30 minutes and it felt like my order sat around until it was convenient to bag it. I only got it when another customer who ordered after me was being helped. Add the flies hanging around the napkins and surfaces and this started feeling less like lunch and more like a health inspection waiting to happen. Parking is rough too since it's on a narrow, busy intersection, though there is paid parking across the street. Overall, the bread was great and the sandwich had potential, but potential doesn't carry bad service, bland fries, unclear pricing, a drink downgrade, a long wait and flies. If the food was amazing, maybe some of this could be overlooked. Nah, too many atrocities happening.

I give it 1 star for the nice owners and family. I give it 1 star for sitting outside on a nice day and enjoying the outside vibe. I give it 1 star for average food. The menu however, has major issues. The bread they use for the garlic bread, the pesto bread, and the pastrami sandwich doesn't hold up. The white part of the bread gets mushy and has a bad texture. That's the case for all hot sandwiches and garlic breads. I recently ordered the chicken parm, and the chicken was cut into small pieces and was burnt. I like my meat cut up in rice dishes such as paella and jambalaya, but cut up chicken parm seems low class and it wasn't great. I also recently ordered the Italian sub. It's a shame you have to pay extra for cheese. IMO, an Italian sub should have both Provolone and Mozzarella cheese. Their sandwich comes with no cheese and is an extra charge. Bummer. Also, they have a variety of Italian-style sandwiches, but none of them have the classic salami, mortadella, and capicola combination which is the authentic combination from my experience. To top it off, the Italian Sub doesn't have red onion or black olives. Meh. There are more menu issues. In the end, there's nothing I find above average. I don't discourage you from going if you're in the mood for a nice Italian meal on the sidewalk outside in nice weather, but there is literally nothing I've found on their large menu that is above average. The menu is flawed in too many ways. At least the family owners seem to be very nice and that goes a long way in deciding who to give my hard earned money to.
