This place looks like a small hole in the wall but has amazing food. My wife had the swordfish dinner and it was amazing. The quality, the taste of it all was amazing to her taste buds. I had a steak plate, which came with a lot of thin pieces of meat that tasted amazing. I highly recommend this place for a date night. Would give zero if I could!! Went to this restaurant for dinner with friends last night. It was my second time here, and definitely my LAST!! I ordered the Rigatoni Al Tre Funghi, and within an hour of eating, I started feeling extremely sick. My stomach has been in pain since, and I barely slept last night. I've spent most of today in bed feeling awful. Whatever was in that dish did not sit right -- and it's beyond disappointing to pay for food that ends up making you ill. As if the food wasn't bad enough, the service was horrendous. The waiter kept bumping into me multiple times and didn't once apologize. At one point, they squeezed another table so close to me -- literally about 5 inches away -- without warning or asking. I was completely blocked in and had a hard time getting out. That's not just inconsiderate, it's dangerous in case of an emergency. When we were paying, I politely asked if they accepted Apple Pay. Instead of giving a simple answer, the waiter rudely gestured at me with his hand as if to say "shh" while taking another one of my friends' credit card -- completely ignoring me. That kind of dismissive behavior is unacceptable. It takes two seconds to say "one moment" or "no, we don't." Between the awful food, getting suck, and the disrespectful, careless service -- I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. WOW WOW WOW! That's all i can say about Farfalla. From the cozy setting to the service to the food! Everything was top notch! We had reservations for 8 pm and got seated quickly. It was a bit chilly but the heat tower thing was on and it made the ambiance enjoyable. Our waiter was amazing!!!! Super attentive and helped us choose our food. We were a party of 4 and split two appetizers and each got our individual plate. For starters they gave us bread and olive oil. The olive oil had roasted peppers and garlic! Delicious we made our own little spread with balsamic vinegar. If you've never had it try it! The bread was warm and crunchy. For appetizers we order the calamari and pizza! Both equally delicious! I forgot to take pictures of the menu but this gives me more of a reason to go back I wish i remembered the name of my wine all i know i wanted a bottle to take home. Service is really well, the only reason why I didn't give a 5 star was because the wait WAS TERRIBLE, it took us about 45 minutes to get our pasta, I felt that was pretty bad. This is our go-to for our weekly pizza night. I'm a fan of thin crust pizza, and they do a great job. They make a good classic pizza margherita, a nice sausage pizza (with or without arugula, depending on your preference), and a really tasty pesto and goat cheese pizza. If you want to be really wicked, order the four cheese pizza - it's intense. The Caesar salad is really good, and they also make a nice grilled vegetable dish. And my favorite part - they have the nicest delivery guys in the world! read more

I had dinner at Farfalla recently with a friend and it was very good meal. It is a bit pricey, but the food and the service was great, so I feel it was worth it. I had the Chicken Piccata with mashed potatoes and my friend had a steak. The chicken piccata was delicious and my friend said the steak was very yummy as well. We split the arugula salad and were very happy with that. The servers were delightful, very attentive and helpful when we were trying to decide what to order. I highly recommend Farfalla. read more

It was easy to get a reservation on a Friday night, but as it got later (around 8 pm) there was more of a wait for tables. All of the pastas and pizzas can be made gluten-free which is always nice to see. I had a gluten-free pizza and the crust wasn't burnt & wasn't too doughy - which can be a problem with gf pizza. I was excited to take my Mom here for her bday with my family. My partner and I have eaten at Farfalla numerous times before and enjoyed the meals. This time though was enough to perhaps part way all because the service was that bad. There were only 3 other tables with people. The beginning was okay. We ordered and got our food. We asked if we could get drink refills and nope nothing. I wanted to order a slice of the tiramisu for my Mom but he didn't even ask if wanted desert. Just brought the check. Yep still no refills to that point. When we got the check I did not tip on top of the service % for big groups. Usually, I do tip on top of that 20% fee. But their service just sucked balls. They're not the only Italian joint in the neighborhood we can keep supporting. 3 stars cuz the food is actually decent. but poopy service topples this one. read more

We were looking for Italian comfort food and this fit the bill. First I have to say service was great, we are water drinkers and they ur glasses were never empty. We started with the focaccia with just the right amount of garlic and rosemary. One of my companions ordered a pizza with sausage and arugula and she said it was a perfect combination. Next at our table was the Spaghetti in Salsa Cruda, which had garlic, fresh tomatoes, capers, broccoli and sun dried tomatoes. The all blended together in a light red sauce the was impeccable. We were in the area and enjoying Griffith Observatory. We did a search and found this restaurant and it was close and had good ratings. We arrived and parking was difficult as it is street parking. We entered and were immediately greeted with friendly service and seated to our table. We made our food selections after looking over all the delicious items on the menu. We had to ask for water and then after finishing our order, we were delivered bread. Our food came quickly and the Santino, spaghetti and meatballs, and raviolis were absolutely delicious. The bread was also delicious. However, we wanted to have more bread, but it was not delivered. We had to then also asked for water to refill our cups. Service was friendly, but sometimes slow. Food was ok. Management couldn't care less about their customers. We were given a $50 gift card to Farfalla. We ordered online through their website and entered all the gift card details, as well as my credit card details to pay for the remaining balance. As soon as we clicked "order" I was charged the full amount to my credit card anyways. My girlfriend called and spoke to someone over the phone who asked us to bring the gift card and credit card so we would sort it out in person. When we got to the restaurant to pick up, I was asked to charge my credit card again for the balance minus the $50 gift card. When I asked the manager for a void receipt for the first transaction he waved me off and out the door and mumbled that everything would be ok... well it wasn't. I ended up getting double charged! The full amount for the meal that he told me would be taken care of and charged the balance after the gift card. The whole experience of using the gift card as a gift ends up being ruined by having it now be a burden. It was my first time ever dining here and definitely will be the last! The food was ok. Tasted like someone's Italian recipes they got from their Grandmother, but will never be able to make it as good as she did. There's a bunch of other Italian restaurants in this neighborhood to try instead. read more

I had the chicken piccatta which I really enjoyed and my partner and linquine in a red clam sauce. I also loved that everything comes out of the kitchen piping hot. I had a confirmed dinner reservation for Valentine's Day at 7:15, through Resy. I received a text message the day before asking me to confirm, which I did. I received another text reminder an hour before my reservation. We arrived promptly at 7:15 and there was a long line of people waiting for tables. I stepped inside to check in for my reservation and was told by a very irritated host that we needed to step outside and wait in line for a table with everyone else, reservations or not. So we left and managed to get two seats at the bar in a great Mexican restaurant that recently opened nearby (Encanto). Honestly, we owe a debt of gratitude to the rude host at Farfalla for helping us discover Encanto. Farfalla's food has always been marginal, at best. But it's on a charming block in Los Feliz with several great restaurants nearby. My advice is to skip Farfalla and book a table at one of these great new places that have opened up and down that stretch of Hillhurst, including Cirvico 2064 and Encanto. If you want more casual old school Italian, Little Dom is just a few doors down and it's a neighborhood gem. Alcove is also a highly recommended restaurant, bar and bakery nearby. read more

One of the worst experiences since moving to Los Angeles for New York. I'm respectful as someone that's worked in the industry and it baffles me when servers choose to walk past me multiple times and I have to actually ask for water. Upon paying the server made it a point to pick 20% and for to be profiled by someone that's also a POC is interesting. This isn't a racial situation as I don't live in a victim space but being treated as though I should be grateful to have service is my cue to not come here again!! The wine was Devine and the risotto was okay. Lovely space and good ambiance.... It's the server that ruined everything. I hope others have a wonderful experience... I ordered on doordash their pasta with smoked salmon. The description of it says and I quote: Bow tie Pasta with smoked salmon and peas in a light vodka pink sauce! I am like sounds great!! Lo and behold I get it delivered and this meal is full of onions! The ones that are cooked into the meal like you cant separate it even if you tried. Why not mention the meal has onions??? What if I was allergic!? I absolutely hate onions so I basically just wasted $35 and a meal! I just threw it all out after unsuccessfully trying to pick out the onions! Doordash did nothing about it by the way. Super aggravating as I was very hungry so I had to figure out alternatives. Never ordering from here again as their descriptions are in accurate. read more

I hadn't been to Farfalla in quite some time, but let me tell you, I am so glad we went back!! First and foremost, our server Eduardo was amazing. He was so kind and provided great options and recommendations for us. We started with the bruschetta and a bottle of Lambrusco, then ordered our own individual dishes. Everything that came out tasted fresh and delicious and at the end of the meal Eduardo asked if we'd be willing to try another Lambrusco offering they had and let him know what we thought. Of course we accepted the offer and loved the second bottle even more than the first. Overall it was a great experience and will be my first choice when I'm wanting an Italian food evening in the neighborhood! They made us feel so special and so glad to be gathering together for dining in person again! read more

My wife and I went here on a whim, trying to experience different LA neighborhoods from where we live. Farfalla has skyrocketed to being my favorite Italian restaurant in LA. The flavor in the pasta dishes is so much better than anywhere else at the same price point. I am addicted to the rigatoni al tre funghi. So so good, with a great balance of shroom and cheese flavors. The pennette santino with Italian sausage added is also excellent. These two in particular have been top notch every time over the course of about 10 visits and Uber eats orders. The pizza and salads are good, but the pastas are the stars. The ingredients are all fresh and again, I can't stress enough how much flavor they pack into the dishes relative to other spots. The entree portions are large relative to similar places, I usually leave with leftovers. The service is personable and welcoming. It really feels like you're in a neighborhood spot. This can come with trade offs in terms of speed of service, but the service interactions are always friendly and conversational, which I love. It's a bit old school in that sense, which is nice if you're willing to slow your night down. On a busy night, expect some time for food to come out. Have a wine, the wait is worth it. The outside seating is fine on a nice day. A little bit of a busy area at certain times but not bothersome typically. The softly lit interior seating is really nice for a date night. Romantic lighting but not so dim that you can't see clearly. I don't write a ton of reviews, but I truly love Farfalla and needed to tell someone other than my wife. read more

Horrible service. We had a reservation. The restaurant was packed and overbooked. When I went up to the server to let him know we arrived he said move to the side lady we are busy and waved me of in a very agitated manner. No one checked in with us. The cashier said it wasn't her job. People were getting seated with reservations past our time and people were waiting over 20-30 minutes past their reservation trying to get someone's attention. I've never been treated so rudely at a restaurant. Will not go back and we left and had a very nice dinner somewhere else with good service. read more

I've been to Farfalla for the last 2 years for Valentine's Day and it's always a rollercoaster. Even with reservations sometimes you wait an extra 15-20 min to be seated and there's a bunch of people packed in this tiny hallway eyeballing the table they're expecting (pre-covid) but nonetheless the food and service there has been on point from my personal experience. I couldn't imagine it being any different this year as we are still going through a pandemic. I'd placed my order through their website (they use ChowNow) and had a pick up time for 6:30. I get there a little early and it's not ready yet. Cool. No worries. I can see the pick-up and delivery services (GrubHub, Postmates, DoorDash etc.) orders are going nuts. Literally to the point where the manager's tablet froze and he couldn't receive or track orders anymore. The manager and staff were visibly overwhelmed and were doing what they could to establish some kind of order with the mountain of orders they were receiving and trying to dish out. But the people/customers coming in were so entitled and looking for someone to blame and literally just looking to chew someone out. Digging through bags that were not theirs. Touching everything. Packing the inside of the restaurant that's not supposed to have people indoors. It's a holiday, and you chose a small restaurant, with a shortened staff that was doing what they could to reclaim some kind of order. What did you expect would happen? Shoutout to the manager, the one server, the busboy and chef's who were doing what they could to manage the massive amounts of orders they had coming in. Although I waited extra time for my food, it was still really good and exactly what I had ordered. Folks need to empathize and check themselves before ripping a part someone who is trying to manage doing their job as best they can in the middle of a pandemic. read more

Farfalla is and always will be one of my absolute fave Italian spots! I've been coming here for ages and I can tell you that they've yet to disappoint me or anyone I've ever brought here. Their pastas are always aldente. I love it that way! Their sauce is plentiful and robust in flavor. I especially love their matriciana and their smoked salmon pastas. I have even asked for the chefs to make substitutions for different pastas in those dishes just to accommodate the wishes of guests. For example, my kiddo likes rotini pasta. And so, the last time we were able to dine in at the restaurant, I asked if they could do me that small favor and he assured me it was no problem. Awesome! Even now with there being no dine-in options available, Farfalla still does NOT disappoint. I picked up 5 entrees here for a birthday dinner. There were 4 of us who shared them and we had the most delicious left overs. The quality of the pasta was fabulous, still perfectly tender and al dente. The sauce was too good to toss even after I'd eaten all the pasta. I had to save it til the next day to have with some nice crusty bread from a local bakery. Bread! That's another thing that I forgot to mention. With our order came this wonderful bag of assorted breads. They almost seemed like different types of focaccia breads. We threw them in the toaster and they were wonderful with our entrees. Service is still as remarkable as I remember it. The faces there, although masked, were all friendly and familiar. I was greeted with warm smiles and the host who rang me up even bothered to ask me about my family. That's one way that I knew he both recognized me but also remembered his customers and loyal patrons. After all these years of dining here, I still don't know his name but he is the sweetest. As long as Farfalla remains in business, I will continue to support it. There are a ton of family memories that were made here and there are ton more to be had. We are staying in the area from out of town and located the restaurant on the Yelp map. Famished after a long day of travel and sightseeing, the bread with olive oil, pasta and aauteed spinach really hit the spot! Pastas were cooked al dente, sauces with vegetables were fresh and the plates steaming hot. Sautéed spinach was not too garlic-y and not too oily. Staff were really nice and attentive. My lady and I were going to a concert at the Greek Theater and wanted to have dinner close by so we wouldn't be late. I found this place on YELP and decided to give it a try. Even though it was a Sunday afternoon, we were seated immediately. Our waiter brought us fresh bread with olive oil with garlic and little tomatoes which was an excellent start. Since we were pressed for time, we chose our meals quickly starting with a Caprese Salad that was made with fresh tomatoe slices and homemade creamy mozzarella cheese. I had the lasagna and my girl ordered the penne pasta. The sauce was super delicious and the pasta cooked perfectly on both dishes. Even the Parmigian cheese that our waiter sprinkled over our pasta was real cheese, not that powder type. The ambiance was a little busy due to the fact that this seems to be a very family friendly establishment. As you walk in to be seated, you will see the cooks super busy making the meals which is a different but pleasant surprise and our waiter was very attentive. We came here to celebrate my friend birthday. The birthday girl favorite food is Italian so this was totally up her alley. Farfalla Trattoria does have a shared parking lot for a five dollar charge. There are tons of meter parking or street parking, also. I decided to call to book a reservation but they only accepted for parties over six people. However, when we walked in, it wasn't hard getting a table. We started our meal with the house bread. We decided to order two plates of pasta and a pizza to share. Yes, we did go carbs crazy, but what the heck, we were celebrating. We ordered the Rigatoni Ai Tre Funghi which came in a pink sauce. This dish came with two types of mushrooms. The second plate of pasta was Farfalle Al Salmone in a light vodka sauce. Between the two plates of pasta, surprisingly I enjoyed the mushroom pasta more. Our choice of pizza was Salsiccia Earugula which is sausage and arugula pizza. I love the thin crust on the pizza. This pizza was super cheesy and tasty.
