Delicious! Clean! Quick! What more can you ask for? Just half of this dish filled me up for lunch. I immediately told my whole family about this place. It's safe to say I'll be back again soon. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner. I ordered the Grilled White Fish Plate in Rose Sauce & Parmesan cheese. They also asked if I wanted sauce for the fish and I opted for the garlic butter. The fish melts in your mouth. The pasta is good and complements the fish. I wouldn't order the pasta by itself. Decent food, mediocre service. The first bite is pretty good, but it kind of goes downhill from there. The person taking our order was nice, not particularly rude or friendly. I wasn't the biggest fan of the seasoning on the tacos. It was supposed to be Cajun, but was more like Sriracha mayo with more mayo than Sriracha. I also would have preferred some more pico de gallo on top. The white fish was actually better than the tacos. Very generous portion, and the brown rice was delicious. Food - we ordered salmon pasta & 3 piece cod fish & chips and it was delish! the fish & chip was perfectly cooked, the pasta salmon the sauce is a bit runny instead of creamy but good. The fish was soft and came apart really easily. I almost ordered extra protein but I'm glad I didn't because it was a hefty portion. Loved that they put the butter sauce and the salad dressing on the side so you can choose how much you want to use yourself. The salad tasted fresh and the fries were perfectly crispy. I would say this is a better California Fish Grill, which is on our rotation of inexpensive, casual eateries. I've had this place on my radar for quiet a while now. I was at a new coffee spot right next door and I was hungry as well so decided to pick up some food here. Upon entering, there were three tables filled up and several people there to pick up orders. I stood there awkwardly, tempted to leave a couple times but was finally greeted by someone after a long 5 or so minutes of standing around. There was a full house working hard on orders so I gave them a chance. Here's what I ordered: **Crispy Fish Taco: Easily the best fish taco I have ever had in my life. Very flavorful fish, cooked to perfection, and the sauce they lathered on top was extremely flavorful and not overly salty. (5/5) **Cajun Mahi Taco: Cajun flavor wasn't too strong and it was nothing special but fish was cooked perfectly. (3/5) I probably came during one of their busiest hours so I won't dock off a star for the extremely long wait to get acknowledged and get my order taken. The wait once I ordered was another 10 minutes but granted, it was very busy so I won't dock off a star for that either. Found this place randomly and honestly a hidden gem in Fullerton I got the grilled tilapia with a side of rice and coleslaw and everything about it was perfect. The Cajun sauce was also delicious. Amongst other shops & restaurants in this plaza, this was a gem right next to H & R Block. I noticed a lot of locals come & go in the short 20 minutes that I was there. Orders: Shrimp & Fish tacos-seafood was fresh but tasted even better with the sauce. Grilled Tilapia w.Grilled Zucchini & French Fries- well grilled without the oil, so I felt really healthy eating this dish. The zucchini was not from a frozen prepackaged freezer, but fresh & cut thick. I was pleasantly surprised with how perfectly well they grilled it without making it too soggy or limp. I'ved been coming here for the past 5 years or so and it never disappoints. What I love about this place is that it's a small cozy location with really good food in particularly the shrimp tacos. Which that is my favorite every time I come here I get that order and also the salmon tacos & calamari tacos delicious. Of course they have more items to choose from but the shrimp tacos really hit the spot. Especially with the sauce added to the tacos and all the flavors combined it's just so scrumptious every bite and every-time.Plus the customer service is always on point and they're very nice. I imagine that most seafood and fish and chips restaurants get pretty busy during lent. The good Catholics do their best to fast and abstain from meat. Yes, that includes chicken... IDK why so many of my friends, especially Hispanic friends, don't consider chicken meat... I wanted an opportunity to try some fish and chips on a "non-busy" day. That way, if i did want fish and chips on a Friday or other day of abstinence, I had some options. The Three Broomsticks in Universal Studios Hollywood has really good fish and chips. But the entrance fee, line and the amount of time to drive there, park and walk to get food is absurd, especially if you just want some quick eats. I mention it, because in terms of comparison, it is very comparable to Fish Daddy Grill. The fish fillets are similarly shaped, meaning they are frozen pressed and formed "torpedoes" that are defrosted and dipped in a tempura type batter and deep fried. The fries or chips were also comparable, shoestring style (think of McDonalds type of fries but without the same taste or texture). It's also not a real fish and chips place, like Carnaby St. in La Puente. There, you get various shaped pieces that have the outline of a side of fish, not some pressed and formed "stick." My initial impression was that it was not bad. I could see myself getting this again, especially during lent. The parking was excellent and the ability to call an order in ahead of time was a plus. No wait was also a big plus. Lastly, unlike Carnaby St., debit, credit and contactless pay (Samsung pay in my case) was accepted. Carnaby only takes cash... I also got the "bowl" of clam chowder for $4.99. This bowl really was more of a cup, but I digress... The first two pieces of fish were good. The cod or whatever white fish they use, was very mild. So much so, my initial bite tasted like warm water. The batter was crisp, not burned, with a mild sheen of oil. The fish was piping hot, moist and firm, but flaky. The fries were just okay. I eat my fish and chips the traditional way with malt vinegar on my fries. Being shoestring fries, it really didn't absorb the vinegar, so I had to dip it onto the vinegar that dripped onto the bottom of the carton. The coleslaw tasted like it was prepackaged (Costco, Sams, your call...). However. HOWEVER, my third piece of fish had an altogether different textures. It was firm. I mean, really firm. And the taste wasn't as mild, either. I looked at it and rather than being bright white like the other two pieces, it was more yellow with some grey. The taste and texture, to me, was that of freezer burn. Someone must have left the bag of fish open or with a hole and put it back in the freezer. This really turned me off to continuing with my meal. I mean, I was going to give it 4 stars but that was kinda gross... The clam chowder was very hot. So much so, the styrofoam bowl it came in was bowed out on the bottom and where it was resting on top of the fish and chips, it melted the top cover of the fish. The soup was watery and had many bubbles on the perimeter. Based on the temperature, the appearance of the container and the wateriness, I assumed this had been sitting in a pot or steam table for quite some time and they used cream or water to dilute it when it thickened up. Don't get me wrong, the taste was good and I think my son and step daughter, who love clam chowder, would equally love this. But I didn't get the impression of "fresh." So based on this particular experience, for the food only, I would have given 2 stars. However, the ease of ordering, the ample parking, the multiple payment methods and the speed of service bumped this up to 3 stars. Imagine how much better the score would have been if the fish wasn't freezer burned or the clam chowder was a bit thicker... I can only imagine... read more
