Very disappointed with our experience. Our server brought four beers to the table when we had only ordered three. When we pointed it out, instead of acknowledging the mistake, she argued with us and insisted we ordered four. It was uncomfortable and completely unnecessary. On top of that, there were additional items on our bill that we did not order at all. Rather than handling it professionally, she became extremely defensive and rude when we questioned it. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for nearly 20 years, I have never once challenged a guest for saying they didn't order something. You correct it and move forward. Arguing with guests over clear discrepancies is not acceptable. To make matters worse, when it was time to pay, she stood over my shoulder watching while I selected the tip. It felt pressuring and inappropriate. Service like that does not deserve a 20 percent gratuity, and hovering while a guest is entering payment only adds to the discomfort. In my own restaurant, I instruct my team to leave the tablet at the table after processing payment specifically so guests never feel obligated to over tip, especially if they had a subpar experience. We left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and like we overspent on both the tip and the overall meal. This was far from the level of professionalism we expected. read more

Great location with amazing views of Long Beach, but everything else is mediocre. This beach restaurant/bar is location right on the beach down the street from The Pike. It has amazing views of the beach and ocean. they have a nice second floor for an even better view. Tons of lou ge like tables that give a great beach vibe. I went on a Wednesday afternoon, it was nowhere near busy. Tons of open tables and tons of staff. However the service was almost nonexistent. We got there at 2 and was told happy hour would be an hour from then. We said no worries, we probably wouldn't even be there that long. We didn't get our drinks or even order our food until 2:55. We ended up being forcibly there for 2 hours because no staff wanted to check on us, and we were sitting in front of everything so we weren't hard to miss. We also noticed that other tables were looking frustrated, so it wasn't just us. Towards the end, the server closed us out and automatically selected a tip for herself and thought we wouldn't notice. She put a 25% tip for herself. I served in bar and restaurants for 9+ years. I respect tipping culture, but never in my years have I forced some or tried to trick someone into giving a tip. The food was decent enough. I had the Cesar salad, which I will say I did like a lot because they put a good amount of dressing, which I like. My friend ordered a burger, don't know which one but he said it was okay. We ordered chips and salsa as and appetizer, and they were really hold back on us with the chips. It's like we ordered salsa with a side of chips. Then we all ordered a mimosa flight, if I'm being honest, whatever juices they used to mix it with, it was so flavorless. I had cucumber, pineapple, and strawberry, and all of them almost all tasted identical. I don't know if their juices are just watered down or whatever it was, but not good. Definitely had better else where. And it shouldn't have taken so long to make a mimosa. Mimosas are literally 2 ingredients. Decent food, great views, and in dying need of staff training. read more

My family and I were in town for a family trip and decided to eat here for Father's Day. I made a reservation on Open Table months in advance, and I had the highest expectations. A beautiful view and brunch on the beach? On an important day like this in honor of my partner? Where can you go wrong?! Well, safe to say, we were extremely disappointed. From the service to the food, it just was not worth it. Our server was very inattentive. He was more interactive with the bar, than anywhere else. We didn't place our orders until 45 minutes after being seated! The restaurant no longer sold lobster rolls, but for some reason, the item was still on the menu. We ordered the lomo saltado, the patron flight, the shrimp ceviche, and the blacked salmon sandwich. Nothing was a stand out. I really feel like it was a waste of money. To top things off, the hostess never marked me in attendance for my reservation, resulting in a back and forth with Open Table. Don't recommend this establishment in the slightest. read more

This is just for going to takeout window for coffee. Two people were in front of me on line and both ordered coffee & muffin though it took close to 15 minutes. I ordered a drip coffee which was only $5, yes, I'm being facetious as that's a bit pricey for a place like this, though it didn't take long to get the coffee I noticed when I walked up the block and took a sip. It was warm instead of hot. I returned to tell the girl at the window this and she appeared to be a deer caught in the headlights as she didn't know what to do so I asked if she could put more coffee in the cup and with that she made an Americano, which was quite different. She did offer to refund my money, but I was just looking for a hot cup of coffee. Thougj it was not a hot cup of coffee, I will say that the flavor was good. read more

This place is near my home and I come often. Left side is the cafe and empanada window, right side is the bar and restaurant. I love how accessible this place is. Sometimes I grab a tea or smoothie after I walk the beach and I've come here several times with friends and family for brunch, lunch or dinner. I've experienced the DJ once and it was a nice touch. I've visited this place when they had QR code ordering from your table and now they have wait service. Food is always good and I've even ordered online here. I've tried all of the fish options, salad, waffle at brunch, various cocktails and wines, teas, smoothies, and my friends tried the burgers, sandwiches and short ribs and other dishes... everyone has been satisfied with no complaints. Being right on the beach is such a treat and when folks are visiting and want beach vibes but also want to eat or drink. I always bring them here and they love it. However, being right on the beach in this area also means that depending on the time of day, don't expect quiet or intimacy lol. Especially in the warmer months. People are here with families, tourist groups, pets, special events in town... it's busy and there's a little bit of everyone around. So understand that this is not and exclusive Malibu-like experience. Everyone is welcome and this is a fairly casual dining experience. With that said, though things have shifted over time and I do think they could be on top of cleaning a bit better when it is busy (ie. bathroom supply refill, cleaning empty tables so new customers can sit) I'll always support. Very cute atmosphere! We ordered the mimosa flight and we all agreed that the cucumber mimosa was the best! We literally downed it, it was refreshing. We ordered the salmon, paella, and fish chips; they all came out so good.
