Yesi was out server and she was very attentive, polite and accommodating. The Guacamole was fresh and flavorful. I order the fish n chips from share portion of menu- easily an entree! It came with three huge pieces of fish. The batter was really tasty and I enjoyed the accompanying aioli but the fish itself could have used a little seasoning. Hubby had the Cuban sandwich and no complaints. This was very good. Tasty margarita with tajin season on the rim, a nice touch. Why the plastic cups tho? We came during a World Cup match so most of their draft beers were tapped. Cans and bottles were available. We had a great booth seat with a beach view and they had a large screen playing the match.

The food was great! We ordered the filet sliders, and the caramelized onions really made them stand out. The ambiance was lively, and the huge TV made it a perfect spot to watch the World Cup. Unfortunately, the service was unbelievably bad and completely took away from the experience. Our server never introduced herself or welcomed us she simply walked up and said, "Are you guys ready to order?" and that was the extent of our interaction. After dropping off our order, she essentially disappeared. We sat for what felt like forever trying to order a beer, but she never checked on us. I finally had to ask another server for help, and even they told me, "Your server should be coming," but she still didn't show up. When she eventually returned, she tried to take my beer order, only to tell me they were out. Fine, no big deal--but she still didn't refill our waters or ask if we needed anything else. Our sliders arrived with no napkins, no share plates, no extra ketchup, and no follow-up to see if everything was okay. We finished our meal with empty glasses and had to ask a busser for the check because our server was nowhere to be found. Even then, the check never came until she finally wandered back over to ask how everything was. I understand it was a busy day, but being busy doesn't excuse being completely absent. A little communication and basic attentiveness go a long way. The food and atmosphere were excellent, but the service was so inattentive and impersonal that it overshadowed what could have been a great visit.

Bang was awesome, attentive and checked in several times to make sure our order was on point. The restaurant got busy as the Ghana vs. England match went on. I fully appreciated the drink presentation and our food was pretty good - we had a minor issue with the fries which was quickly resolved without reservation. I'll definitely be back.

Lots of seating and beach views which is nice! Service was slow on the night we came in. We came in on a Tuesday night and it was not busy, but it took about 45 minutes for our food to be brought out. We got the new filet mignon sliders which were very tasty and good flavor, would recommend these! I swapped out the fries for mashed potatoes, but the mashed potatoes were a bit bland for me. Buttery but otherwise did not taste seasoned. The skirt steak sandwich had a nice charred taste and was also tasty and popular, but a bit dry. Wish it came with some chimichurri on the side! Fries were fine, unfortunately cold and not fresh. Salad on the side was served soggy. My fiancé enjoyed his mezcal margarita! The two sandwiches and drinks were a hit, the sides could use some work.

I've been back to Gaucho Beach a couple times since my first review and although I'm updating my review to 4 stars for the food, there is still room for improvement. My friends and I do enjoy the vibe here, being right on the beach, outdoor, dog friendly and with old school jams playing. While there's usually a short wait, it's nice that Gaucho Cafe is next door so people can grab a seat, drink and/or snack while waiting. Didn't seem like the lobster roll recipe changed much since my last visit so I opted to try the new Soft Shell Crab Sandwich. The brioche bun was soft, the creamy coleslaw consisted of purple cabbage and added a nice texture with the fried soft shell crab. The fries were done just right too. I would actually get this again since there aren't many places that serve it. Hubby got the Chilaquiles with chicken and we were impressed with the quantity and quality! There was a good amount of grilled chicken breast, eggs and the bowl was loaded with chips that remained crispy in the flavorful red sauce throughout the meal! My friends tried the calamari, which was good and the lobster omelette. My friend liked the omelette but the lobster meat was pretty minced, making it a little difficult to tell if it was really lobster in there. The service was a little hit or miss. We had to track down our server a few times. My hubby was still waiting for his beer when our food came out. Oh, they also don't have hot sauce?! They only have house made chimichurri, which isn't bad but it's not that spicy and doesn't give the heat that any hot sauce does. I'm sure I'm not the only person that asks for Cholula or Tapatío. Nonetheless, the food came out in decent time, we enjoyed our dishes and ambience here overall.

Went to Gaucho Beach for their advertised oldies & funk brunch, and honestly the best thing they have going is the beachfront location and people watching. We were expecting a fun mix of oldies and funk music, but after maybe five oldies songs it basically turned into a Michael Jackson playlist for the rest of brunch. Food-wise: Steak & eggs: steak was good, but the eggs were rubbery and the potatoes lacked flavor. Chilaquiles: tried both the green and red salsa. The green was good, but the red tasted more like regular tomato sauce. Chicken & waffles: was surprised that it was chicken strips but was even more surprised that they tasted good, but the waffles were very dense, although they did have a nice sweetness to them. The drinks were good and the staff was great, which definitely helped the experience. Overall, more of a spot for the view and vibes than the food.

Came with hubby and grandkids. Food plates too big for young teens but they were too old for kids plates. Service was friendly but a bit thin. We had almost finished our plates when the obligatory' how's your food' question came up. Enjoyed the music and decor. Gaucho salad worth a mention for texture and taste but it was heavy on the raisins.

My gf and I came in for a drink after a walk on the beach. We didn't expect much on a Tuesday afternoon. We tried the signature strawberry basil marg and the Bloody Mary and they were both banging! Being from Long Beach but moving away and seeing all the changes that has taken place throughout the city is quite amazing. Long Beach was not what it's like today. Now it's a place where there's so many things are happening and restaurants and shops are scattered everywhere. Cluster of area are trendy, blocks are full of amazing restaurants, massive new apartments complex replacing empty lots all through downtown. And of course this place. I remember when it was just an empty spot where it's just the beach, the park and parking lot. Now it's a pretty cool beachfront restaurant and bar right on the sand and bike path. It's been so long since I left that I'm not quite sure how long this place has been here. I've seen it often when visiting walking the path or meeting friends for dinner down the street. Plus seeing post about this place and hearing from friends, it was finally something that needed to be done. Friday afternoon, just as happy hour was happening we popped in for drinks. Nothing major just something to have while checking it out. Checked in with the hostess which we mentioned that we wanted drinks and not brunch. She mentioned that the bar area was full but followed her anyways which they did have seat available. There were plenty of open tables but not sure if we were able to have one if we were just having drinks. She never offered it to us. Anyways, bar seating was fine. It wraps around. Menu for happy hour was decent, a good amount of drinks as well as food items. We had to get someone's attention so we could order. Normally you would get acknowledged when seated at the bar but it didn't seemed like they even noticed us. Finally someone, placed our order for some drinks and then some food. Drinks, beer on tap and one of the red sangria on happy hour. Beer, you can't go wrong with it. Sangria's, it was nice and refreshing. Had a few fruit chunks mixed in. Food, we shared an order of the mussels. They brought out the meal but no extra plates for the shells. Also, no utensils which we had to ask someone sitting across from us to pass some down that was sitting there. And shells were placed onto a napkin. Anyways, the mussels were quite nice. They were pretty small in sizes but the broth was very flavorful. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful. Downstairs has the bar with some nice table seating looking out to the bike path and beach. There's also an upstairs which we didn't get to check out. Overall, the place is quite beautiful. Service was a little slow until we got someone's attention. Drinks were good and the mussels were tasty. There's a small parking lot out back but just to the side , a couple minutes walk is a bigger lot.

So I'm not one to leave a review , but I had to for this place...although the location is cool THE SERVICE WAS AWFUL!! It took about 30 min just for some one to give us water....then finally the waiter. So we order adult drinks along with our main lunch and honestly it took the waiter another 45 min until we got our dranks...at this point I already knew this waiter was gunna get stiffed... my daughter order the Caesar salad w/stake and was asked how she wanted it cooked and she toll him med. and he repeated what she said too, so mind you we were already frustrated cuz of how long everything took and when the food came out and of course her steak was overcooked and we agreed not to say nothing cuz of how long it took fir our food to get to us...So if u choose to try this place I recommend to go for dranks only..or sit at the bar!! Our second time here! I love the location, right on the beach with ocean fresh breeze. My son ordered a Moscow mule but it wasn't in a copper cup. Also, it was missing an ingredient but the waitress came out with another one and told us she realized there was something missing in our drink. She replaced it with a new one. Much better :) I had a delightful Gin Tonic. As far as the food, I ordered my lobster omelette which was different from the first time I ordered. This time, the lobster was shredded inside. I feel like having chunks of lobsters makes a huge difference in the texture of the dish. Please bring back the lobster chunks. Plus, having shredded lobsters, as a customer, we feel like it is not truly lobster but langoustine perhaps? Parking is good. Just pay a few dollars. ;) read more

This place is a treasure amidst the sand. It's nestled in the midst of a Long Beach beach. If you're hoping to drink with the breeze (day or night) engulfing you, then this is the spot that will meet--and frankly, exceed--your expectations! Truly, this is the selling point of this joint. You get to have drinks next to the sand, beachgoers, and the sights of Long Beach. The drawback is that the food is basic. I ordered chips and guacamole, and I can make better at home. I didn't dare try any more food items because I didn't want to be disappointed. The service was attentive and kind. I've been here a few times and enjoyed it every single time. My best memory is when I went with a friend (who I wanted to be more than a friend) and we enjoyed the transition from day beach vibes to night beach vibes. We could walk outside and immediately step into cool sand and a fresh breeze. We took a moment to hold hands--both pairs--and stood in the quasi-center of a triangle made of palm trees. We asked the universe, the Sea-Gods, and the wind to bless our path so we may always find fun and laughter in our days. The convenient and whimsical location of this joint facilitated that moment. I wonder what you'll be inspired to do when you're full of liquor and next to a picturesque beach. I guess the possibilities are limitless. Focus on the environment and the booze--you'll be happy, I think. But what do I know? I find happiness in the smallest pleasures of our Earth. read more

My first time here was exceptional! Staff was welcoming as soon as I came in. A gorgeous view of the beach. Super clean and nice ambience. I ordered the chicken milanesa, it was delicious and well priced. It comes with a side of fried or Caesar salad. I went with the salad YUMM. What could improve? Every thing. Poor costumer service. Food was awful. Went w my son and order through the app. Paying before getting our food. Took forever to get water. No waiters coming. My son had to go get the drinks. After waiting a long time we asked to change the order to go. They did not. Food quality was awful. The empanadas we order wasn't available. They brought another and was still frozen. My son's lomo saltado was a pool on ketchup w some onions and a few pieces of meat. My meat was thought and no steak knife available. I have never had a good experience w gaucho restaurants. One in L A the arts district. Took more than 2 hrs. The other in Pasadena, not good quality food. Planning on taking friends there, because it was better before. Glad I went before. I will not invite them. read more

Excellent place to come for date night ask for Bang the bartender. Great service great ambience. It was a little chilly. He turned the heater on for us, but without even asking made you feel like you're at home. My first drink was a little sweet. He came back to check on me for another asked how it was. I literally said it was sweet. He asked me if I wanted spicy neutral or sweet. I said neutral. He took it from there brought me back a new drink that was exactly what I wanted. The food here is tasty. I ordered the Cubano sandwich, it was good. The portions are on the smaller side. It comes with either fries or salad. I opted for fries. We sat at the bar so the bartender was friendly and efficient. I didn't have to wait too long for my food. Ambiance is great, it's overlooks the ocean so it's nice to sit outside for the views. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.

Side of bacon $6 for two measly pieces - overcooked and too crunchy. I could tell the bacon would have been good if it was more on the meaty/chewy side. This came with a potato pancake which was like mashed potatoes mixed with cheese and then fried. Service was okay, I think because it was pretty busy. They may need more staff to help the servers with drink refills and to check in more frequently. Lastly, our table was very wobbly and we had to fix it with sugar packets otherwise our drinks would have toppled.

We had the grilled artichoke, chicken piccata, and the cioppino. All very very delightful. During our dining experience I needed to use the restroom. The smell in their bathroom was amazing. Probably one of the best smelling restrooms I had ever. When I was leaving, I politely ask the hostess if she knew what the name of the smell was bc it was so awesome. She wasn't telling me the exact name. She essentially told me the essence. While in the middle of her talking, a female manager aggressively told us that they were not aloud to tell patrons the scent. Hey, I get it, but as a person who was a manager for one of the highest ranking upscale casual dining restaurants, who has worked in 5 star resorts, knowing how to provide kindness to both guests and staff, this manager did not present those skills. This manager was quite frankly disrespectful not only to her staff, but to me. There is a way to handle situations without embarrassing your staff member and making them feel small and showcasing your flex of power to a diner who was about to drop hundreds for a dinner in our volatile economy. This manager did NOT handle this appropriately. Like i said, she was rude, extremely aggressive to respond, and not once smiled and said, "I'm so glad you love it. It's our secret to get you to come back." She did try to say it was a secret, but seriously... with the way she treated her staff.... I think she better focus on hospitality rather than the scent in the bathroom. After this interaction, I actually watched and observed the manager during the remaining time of our dinner. I wanted to see how she interacted with her staff. I wanted to see if she knew how to manage without flexing on her staff bc obviously she doesn't know that words matter and what you say and how you say it can make or break your staff's entire night which can reflect on how they treat their guests. I get this is lengthy over a restroom scent, but as a person who thrives on seeing the beauty in how a management team can make a huge impact on the success of a company, if she's openly rude and aggressive to me and her hostess, how is she with the rest of the staff and guests? Just a little food for thought. I will say, that interaction totally changed my view for the remaining time of our dinner. I truly hope that the female manager who was working last night June 1 reads this and changes the way she handles situations. From what I saw and experienced, she needs to take a step back and regroup. She needs to be retrained on how to treat her staff, how to smile with kindness, and how to kindly make a joke about the scent kindly with laughter rather than an attack on her staff. To the hostess: I'm sorry you had to be treated that way. You were incredibly kind from upon greeting us even to the very end. You're awesome. I'll return back, but I do hope next time, the manager from last night is on a better wave length as the people who help create her position. There are a lot of great managers out there willing to take that place.

I got a little taste of the spicy fried rice, which was really good. Some of us ordered Thai tea and didn't expect what we received, which was the tea with a Thai tea popsicle. What a treat! The Thai tea itself was pretty standard, but that popsicle was like the icing on a cake. The places, modern and clean. Staff is helpful and nice. It's an order at the front counter and take a number to your table and they bring the food to you. We went with three family members and got two different pizzas and both were so good. One was a loaded pepperoni with a hot honey sauce and the other had ricotta cheese with pepperoni and pickled jalapeños (the red ones). Absolutely delicious We also ordered fried onion rings (which I did not try as I don't do onions) and fried zucchini sticks. The sticks were very good but I was thrilled with the dip as it had dill and I should have just asked for ranch. I'm told the onion rings were very good. They came with a honey mustard sauce dipper which went great with the zucchini sticks by the way. We saw some very good looking chicken wings being served to other tables and plan to try those next time. Parking in this area can be tough at times however it's worth the effort believe me.

The backyard seating is quaint, overall homey vibe. Pizza was just OK, the Cacio e Pepe was good as well as the bread service. Would come again, but my expectations will be just a little lowered for next time.

I've been walking by this charming beachside restaurant for months, and its stunning ocean views have finally convinced me to give it a try. The colorful buildings and lively atmosphere have made me curious about the delicious food and sunny spot it must offer. When parking, it's a good idea to download the Passport app, if you plan to go before 6pm especially when parking enforcement is out in full force. This way, you can pay for your parking spot quickly and easily, avoiding the risk of receiving a ticket in the time it takes to get back to your car. By paying for your parking through the app, you can ensure that you're not stuck with an unexpected fine, and you'll also be supporting the city's efforts to streamline parking payment processes. I was taken aback when we had to sit ourselves at a table, it's not something I'm used to at a beachfront restaurant like this. But, considering the stunning ocean views and the fact that it was a weekday, the lack of assigned seating wasn't a bad thing - it added to the casual, laid-back vibe of the place. Our waiter was friendly and enthusiastic, but it took a bit of time to get their attention - we had to wait for a while before someone came to take our order. Despite the delay, her demeanor remained warm and welcoming, and she made sure to check in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The pineapple Margarita was a decent drink, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. While it did taste like pineapple and had a unique blue color, it wasn't particularly impressive or memorable. The tangy kick from the lemon aioli added a delightful contrast to the rich flavors. Despite the slight misstep on the doneness, the Gaucho burger was good, but wouldn't get again. The steak and chicken empanadas complicated were excellent! The steak was tender and juicy with a nice char, while the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender within. Both dishes were well-seasoned and allowed the natural flavors to shine through. My sister wasn't too thrilled with the fish and chips, unfortunately. She found the batter to be overdone, giving the fish an unpleasant texture. To make matters worse, the fish was prone to bursting with juice, which was a bit messy and unappetizing. The tartar sauce, which she thought would add a nice tanginess, ended up being off-putting instead, with a weird taste that didn't complement the dish well. arrived at the restaurant at approximately 3:55, waited for 10 minutes in the hall beside the bar for someone to acknowledge that we were present. we stated we would like a table for dinner and were told by the bartender take any table that's open. So we did five minutes later someone came over and cleaned the table and asked if we needed assistance.. we said we had come for dinner and she said I'll send over the waiter... 10 minutes later, the waiter arrived, and we told him we would like to have a menu.... He proceeds to find a menu and brings one menu for three people..... that's right one menu for three people.... we look over the menu and order two steaks, and one salad and calamari...... Approximately 15 minutes later, a server, not our waiter brings steak and the calamari..... Anticipating that the other stake was forthcoming, I was mistaken.... After requesting to see our waiter after 10 minutes, we asked where the other steak was..... said, let me look into it.... Five minutes late he shows up with the second steak..... The steak that was served to me was un edible..... I tried my best, but I just could not eat the steak...... I asked the server if he would send the waiter to me so that I could show him what my problem was...... after a five minute wait and no waiter I decided to go to the bar and ask for the manager.... I explained to him what the problem was and he could see that the steak was un eatable.... he did refund the money that I had paid for the steak....... I only wish that I would not have included a 20% tip for a waiter that was non-existent..... but that's what happens when you have to order pay for and include the tip before the meal is served..... this is a poor poor policy....... So buyer beware if you plan on using this restaurant, I wouldn't pay before you see what you are about to receive.... with the service and food as poor as it was presented to us this restaurant will not be around very long..... Can't even begin to describe how awful this place is!!!!! As a former employee for Almost a year... If only you all knew what was taking place behind closed doors!!!! To start You wouldn't believe the amount of CROSS CONTAMINATION happening here. The surfaces food is prepared on is absolutely disgusting and never ever ever cleaned or sanitized. They don't even wash dishes with soap or sanitizer and only spray them off and run through the machine with water. Health Code Violations? Ha! Long Beach is Notorious for Health Departments not doing their jobs and being paid off by places like this that are owned by the city. The amount of rodents and bugs and disgust in and around this place would make anyone never want to step foot near here again. This place seriously needs to be shut down immediately due to HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS The owners of Guacho? Who are they? Management? Who are they as well? Who actually controls what's Happening here? The amount of corners being cut to just make money is insane. There is no management and employees are left constantly having to pick up the slack of the business. Employees give inventory through group chat to a manager and that manager then gives the order to his manager and then that person doesn't order what's needed on time for the business to have what's on the menus and then the employees are left telling customers we're out of items. This has been going on since the start and has not changed. I could literally keep going and going and going with how horrible this place was and is. The amount of employees you see come and go, the lacking all around from everyone is ridiculous. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF LONG BEACH SOMEONE SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!! Unfortunately, the dish didn't live up to expectations; it felt like nachos with a store-bought sauce hastily poured over, accompanied by a modest serving of steak for an extra $10. I didn't see a hostess during my time there. Now as soon as we sat down water was brought to us and that was extremely great because it's summer and it hot! So it was really nice to not even have to ask and I appreciated that immediately.Now I'm a mom and I have two toddlers 1&3 years old. So going out is stressful, but honestly the servers were so nice and welcoming. My 3 year old of course had to spill her water and immediately a server came to help us clean it and I'm grateful for that, because he helped lower my anxiety. We ordered two kids butter pastas,fish fingers, and I got the skirt steak sandwich. The food was really good my steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked, it was soft and tender not chewy at all. Honestly for 4 plates and drinks it was not pricey at all. I am very happy with the service, I am very happy with the food. I would definitely come back here. We visited during the excitement of the World Cup, and despite how busy and energetic the atmosphere was, she never missed a beat. If it weren't for the self-order service, my wife and I might never have been acknowledged or had the chance to place our order. I practically had to serve myself refills of water as our so-called waitress flitted around attending to other tables. Dang and his partner on the roof is great on a Friday mid-day. You don't have to flag them down for service. They are attentive and they will check on you periodically. If you sit at the bar, downstairs. My experience has been not so good. I've observed the bartenders only taking care of their Spanish speaking customers. Me, I dont speak Spanish, so I have to waive down someone for service. And then when I order, it's about 10/15 min wait to get the drink. Other non- speaking (black) customers had the same experience at the bar. As we discussed it while sitting at the bar. This happened on 2 separate occasions. Emily at the bar is good. It was amazing I had Josue as my server. I've been to all the gauchos recently and this has been the best visit, everywhere else has been so slow. It was best simply because of his service.. amazing. I had a great experience at Gaucho Beach in Long Beach! The vibe is chill and beachy with a touch of upscale, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing weekend brunch. I ordered the steak brunch, and it was really good--juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Paired it with a Caipirinha, which was refreshing and well-balanced (not too sweet, just the way I like it). A shoutout to our waiter, Matthias, who was super helpful and friendly throughout the meal. He checked in often without being overbearing and had great menu recommendations. Had a wonderful experience, and a big part of that was thanks to Yesi. She provided fast, attentive, and high-quality service from start to finish. She made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal, checked in at the right times, and was always friendly and professional. It's not easy to find service that feels both quick and thoughtful, but Yesi did an excellent job. She really helped make the entire experience enjoyable, and I truly appreciated her kindness and attention to detail. Hi Yelpers, I recently returned to Gaucho Beach. While the service was good, it didn't quite match the level of excellence I experienced during my previous visit--likely due to how busy it was. That said, I happened to see Kamilah, who had been my server on my last visit. Although she wasn't assigned to our table this time, she recognized me and went out of her way to be welcoming and helpful. Her professionalism and friendliness truly stood out. If you're planning a visit, I highly recommend requesting Kamilah--she'll make your experience even more enjoyable. read more
