    Breakfast Burrito
    Joe M.

I pass by this place offend when I am going to another place for breakfast on 4th & Grand. But today, I wanted to try somewhere new and a quick place to pick up a burrito. So I drove over to try this place out. I had their Breakfast burrito. The two people there who greeted me were super friendly. I believe this is a family owned business. Right/ I had their breakfast burrito. I like it. Big! more than I needed. But it was a good tasting burrito. Big chunks of ham, if you like ham. Not sure I tasted the bacon. I will be back to try another dish for sure.

Stopped here on my way to an event at the Long Beach Arena. I've seen this place many times before but never got a chance to drop by. Glad I did. The menu is simple, one for Breakfast and one for lunch. The interior was decently clean and exterior as well. No restrooms unfortunately, although I understand since there are many homeless in the area. Staff was friendly and professional. Really loved that everything was handmade as soon as you order, nothing was already pre-made. Even the orange juice is freshly squeezed. Definitely have to come back, I recommend this spot to anyone who is going towards the waterfront at Long Beach if you haven't had breakfast.

Food is delicious! The servings are very hearty and filling. Staff is always so kind and welcoming!

Bomb breakfast burritos. I don't love ham, so I do wish there was a meatless burrito (or a discount for not having meat in my burrito). Super friendly staff and quick service! They had some cute Christmas decorations up and you could help decorate their tree which was really nice. Love the water dispenser and to go cups for hot sauce.

    Welcome!

What a solid place to get a breakfast burrito. I will say I'm so used to my BIG BREAKFAST BURRITOS but this one here.... It's still filling and has tons of flavor! I was next door doing laundry and decided to walk over and try this place out, I know it's been open for a while but to me it's new :) I was immediately greeted by Forest.... Like Forest Gump. Forest was a cool man and literally introduced himself that way lol I shortly glanced at the menu and made my selection on the double meat burrito, I asked forest if that's a good choice and he completely agreed and said I won't be disappointed. I'm just minutes I was walking out with a hot freshly made burrito with a couple of there salsas in a brown paper bag to go. I was totally impressed on the flavors of this breakfast burrito, it was a perfectly salted and full of meats...just how I like it. I will say the size seems to be smaller then other breakfast burritos I've had but once I was done I was full... so don't let the size fool you ;) I will be retuning to try something different off the menu. It's located in a plaza with tons of parking so no need to worry about that. Also there is NO seating so grab and go is ideal. If you're in the area I highly recommend you check them out. Enjoy! SYoY :)

I'm a breakfast burrito kind of person plain and simple. If I'm out and you ask me what I feel like having for breakfast 99% of the time I'll say breakfast burrito. Now Ham n Scram is a place I pass by somewhat often and always tell myself I'm going to give it a try. Well I finally did I was out with my partner and our pups and figure after our morning walk it's breakfast burrito time. I walked in trying to decide what to get but the Original breakfast burrito just made sense with everything it had in it. Its not the biggest burrito but it's a good tasting burrito. The price was a little eh. I think with tax it put me around $15 just for the burrito. The place is spotless very clean and well kept, menu has pretty much all the prices removed which I don't like. Just be upfront with your pricing regardless of the cost. There is no seating so it's a grab and go kind of place, parking is plentiful. Would I come back... Hmmm.. it was a good tasting burrito but for the price I can go elsewhere (not naming the competition because I don't think it's right too) and get a good breakfast burrito for half the price less than a couple miles away. I might be back just to support small businesses.

Stopped by here on Monday morning and it did not dissatisfied. The moment we walked in we were greeted by the two friendliest employees. We ordered two of the original breakfast burritos split in half. They ordered to wrap the halves separately, which was great. The burritos are jam packed and have the perfect ratio of eggs to meat and potatoes. The salsa complimented the burritos really well. This place was great!

Quality REAL food served in compostable packaging! Parking: lot shared with other businesses Service: fast, so sweet Ambiance: cute decor, very clean, spacious. Grab your food and SCRAM bc there's no seating Food: boyfriend loved his breakfast sandwich. I got the breakfast bowl (no cheese) and it was great. Salsa has the perfect kick. LOVE that they use compostable bowls, paper bags and compostable forks. Thank you for caring. Knowing that this is real, quality ingredients and they care for the environment makes them a FIVE STAR for me.

Huge fan of this spot, probably my favorite breakfast burrito in Long Beach. As good as the burrito is on its own, the salsa puts it on another level. I go with The Original Breakfast Burrito every visit and honestly I don't feel the need to go with another menu item because why mess with a good thing? And although you'll catch me here when I'm having a breakfast burrito craving, I often come here for their ham bones! I'm big on making legume-based soups and using ham bones take my soup to another level! My fur child is a big fan of the meat from these bones too. All the employees here, from the college kids to the owner himself are so nice and helpful and their service definitely solidifies this as a five-star review. This location is small and doesn't provide dine in seating, so definitely be prepared for a takeout order but there's a great park near by if you need a place to eat.

This is a very solid option for anyone who wants an American omelette or scramble on the go! Let me start with the service because I truly don't think I've ever gotten faster service anywhere other than a fast food restaurant! It probably only took 3-4 minutes for them to make my burrito! The young men were both very nice and friendly. The burrito itself was a good size, and definitely worth the $13 price! The ham itself is really really delicious, there's a reason it's in their name! Unfortunately the cheese didn't melt all the way, which would have taken this burrito up a notch. They also have shredded potatoes in there which are good, but could use more texture. I also didn't think the salsa it was served with really complemented the burrito, but they have other options you can choose from! Overall, I see why this is a really popular spot! I love that it's family owned and has great costumer service. I was eating on the go, so I didn't take note of there is any seating inside, but I don't think there is. If there is seating, it's very minimal.

Came here on a Saturday around 10:00am. One person in front of me. Service was quick. Space was clean. Got the original breakfast burrito. It was fairly big. Sauce on the side was good but not spicy. Ham inside is what made it stand out it was salty and cooked well. Overall, worth trying out.

We ended up ordering the fondue for the app (24.00) which comes with bite size pieces of bread and diced apples. It was ok, a little too runny and had an interesting hint of beer flavor. Next up we both ordered the brie & prosciutto sandwich which came with a side of au gratin and greens. The sandwich was excellent but the potatoes were cold. We ended our meal sharing creme brulee for dessert. It was good but also served cold. Total bill incl tip: 163.00 bucks (double ouch)! Overall, meal and service was good, but I would forego the wine on a future visit as it was way overpriced for the brand we got as well as the cheese fondue. Will definitely be back though. Everything feels clean, classy and thoughtfully put together. When you first arrive, seeing the line out the door can be a little intimidating. Usually at places like this, I feel like I have to fight for my life to find a table, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!

The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.

I had recently had a very notable version of the same dish at a Canopy by Hilton in Washington DC, and unfortunately, this one did not measure up. The breading was average and the sweet chili aioli was poor. I asked for ranch instead, which was an improvement but still not great. The portion itself was fine. Service was solid and friendly! I'd rate the staff around a 4. Based on the food I had, the kitchen lands closer to a 2.5 to 3. Fine if you're already in the hotel and want something casual, but not an amazing choice for the fried seafood.
