Maybe everyone has hammered dealers for so long for being too aggressive, now they don't seem to really care if they follow up and get a deal done. Weird. He's the consummate professional, excellent work ethic, and absolutely knowledgeable and competent. Eran is so awesome and accommodating. He seems ready and eager to work for & with you, and he made himself available as best he could with me. Even though it's clear from his website the area range he covers, and that he's open to go even further (for, in my opinion a small additional charge), he went extra far for me; and furthermore he's always ready seemingly at a moments notice (which won't always be the case, of course, but shows that as long as he's available, he'll jump to work with you [reflective of how awesome service & work ethic he has])! The extra (again, for an small [IMO] additional charge) he was wonderful in considering for me was even as far as a used car dealership in Roseville! Just FYI, for him Gilroy is too far (haha, had to try, because he's awesome and I was desperate for the car, so for him to). And he works hard to make it that his customers don't have to do anything additional, and that he'll take care of it all -- he doesn't expect you to meet him there (although you have the option; he offered/was-open for me to be there to do it with him, but since the dealerships were like 40+ miles out, I opted not to), or to meet with him beforehand, or even afterward; you can correspond and coordinate just text and/or phone. If anything, you just might have to call the dealership and give them a heads up (telling them the time and Eran's name & business). He goes out, takes the car for about an hour, and checks everything. But beyond that (and what I mean about excellent work ethic and consummate professional) is that he documents it all (photos on top of his notes), and he goes in, around, and even under the car and looks at all the nook and cranny of all the car parts & aspects. He took plenty of photos of anything remarkable of the car (dents, paint deterioration, oil/grease stains [underhood of the car], interior issues, etc.). He has a whole form with a checklist that checks ranging from fluids to condition of belts to lights working to hoses to condition of the tires & brakes and the rest; even takes note if there's a spare tire & wheel jack. Of course he hooks up his OBD tool to check for any codes. Then he sends you the report with all of his findings, gives you a call to talk it all over and he gives his impression, then you send payment -- he's really cool about payment and states "however you want to pay"; Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, Cash, Check, whatever. He gave me the impression that I wanted him to be my own mechanic; so I even asked him. And it's a credit to him to have replied that, to keep professionalism and can't claim exploitation, he doesn't do both (PPI and mechanic). He is on the high end of what you might estim8 ($180; more if you send him outside his normal area/range [I don't believe more than $200]), but I was happy to spend that on him. I'm a novice with cars (general knowledge enough, but not enough to be able to identify whether car parts are in good order and/or would last or not), so I wasn't confident in my ability to buy my first used car. I used him twice (would have been three times, but Gilroy was too far away). In the end, the used car I got has worked great for the last 6 months. And he saved me from buying an amazing car (high end Hyundai; $3k) but in such under-the-hood horrible shape that it would've been 3x the cost of the price just to repair everything -- which is proven when I saw the listing remain for 2 whole months and priced reduced twice down to I believe $2800! After it all, I brought my used car to 2 mechanics after him, and they confirmed 4 out of the 6 concerns he had -- which, granted, it's not like Eran has a car lift and a whole lot of time to thoroughly check as much as a mechanic with a garage would. He mistook cosmetic blemishes on the serpentine belt and the brakes as old age and maybe needing to be replaced -- which didn't end up being the case. But he did get the transmission deficiencies, signs on a certain valve gasket, parking brake, and other aspects right on the mark. I can't say good enough things about him! I was only able to feel confident enough to buy the really old used car that was in my budget because of him. And it's been nothing but a success! 6 months later, after taking care of the issues and potential concerns Eran noted, the car has not given any problems (that could have been foreseen; it still is a really old car so some things are bound to have come up organically) -- proving how much Eran and SafeBuy is really stellar and impeccable! If you're not the best with cars, you can absolutely trust Eran and SafeBuy; as much as you can trust his willingness, commitment, integrity, experience.

I'm pretty confident I've paid an arm and a leg for having my flat tire fixed before, so I was really really happy at how quick and effortless it was. I didn't see any cars before me, so maybe that contributed to the speed, but it was genuinely less than ten minutes. You can't ask for more than that in my opinion, this will be my go-to recommendation for flat tires.

BE AWARE: Toyota of Berkeley's I-80 Junction service center charges an additional 3% fee if you…read moredon't pay in cash. This was not disclosed when I dropped off my car. I only discovered it when I arrived to pick it up... after the work was already completed. At that point, I had no real choice. They had my car, I'd arrived via Uber, and there was no practical way to go withdraw $800 cash from the ATM at that time of day even if I could get to one. I was effectively stuck. The repair itself (replacing an oxygen sensor) cost about $800, which already felt high. A quick Google check shows the typical range is $300-$600. The part itself costs about $200 for the genuine Toyota part and my statement says that they took 1.5 hours to complete the work so labor accounts for the remaining $600 of cost which means I paid $400/hour here. On top of that, I was charged another 3% simply for paying by card. For those doing the math, it's true, $25 more isn't a fortune. But the issue is the lack of transparency and the feeling of being squeezed for every dime with no way out. Fees like this should be clearly disclosed upfront, verbally and prior to the work being done... not quietly added when the customer no longer has options. To make matters worse, the repair took three days, despite being promised it would be completed in one. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision. There are many reputable Toyota mechanics in the Bay Area who do quality work without surprise fees, and keeping your car for 3 days for 1.5 hours of work. I'll be taking my business to literally any of them going forward.

When I dropped off my car, I was told it would be ready around 12:30-1:00 p.m. and that I'd receive a call when it was done. I decided to stick around the area. At 1:00 p.m., after waiting two hours, I walked back to check on the status and found that they hadn't even started working on my car. When I told them I was leaving, the employee suddenly asked if I could wait another 10-15 minutes because he could "start it now". So frustrating. My scheduled appointment meant absolutely nothing until I complained and I was not interested in a rushed oil change... If your business can't honor appointment times, don't offer appointments. Respect your customers' time. I would not recommend taking your business here. I certainly won't be back.

I had one of the worst services ever at Hilltop Ford, the Service Department!!!!! This started back on October 13, 2017. I schedule an appointment at Hilltop Ford. The issue was with my 2003 Ford F-150. Between 30 and 40 MPH, it feels as if the truck won't change gears, the RPMs raise over 2000, the truck rams (feels like a kick) and within seconds the RPMs drop back to normal and the trucks speed become consistent again. So, going back to the service department at Hilltop Ford. my appointment was at 2:30pm with Ryan Nelson. He is very professional and polite. But, don't let that fool you. VISIT #1. I dropped off my vehicle on October 13th at 2:30pm, at around 5pm on the same day. I got a call from Ryan stating that he couldn't take care of my vehicle because the Transmission tech had called in sick and if I could leave the vehicle over night. I Stated to Ryan that I couldn't leave it over night but that I could drop it off on Monday or Tuesday of the next week. VISIT #2. I not sure what day I dropped it of. But, I got the same phone call from Ryan stating that they didn't get a chance to look at my truck, if I could leave it over night for them to check it the next morning and he would get back to me with the details. No phone calls from Ryan the next day....I called to check on my truck around 3pm and Ryan stated that he was busy but that he would get back to me on the next day. I got a phone call from Ryan the next day, he stated that there was an issue with the transmission and that I could replace it for about $6000 or....I said that I couldn't afford that much and that I had about $3500 to spend on fixing it. Ryan stated that he would be able to take care of the issue with that amount. Ryan was to contact me with the details now that he new how much money he had to work with. I got a phone call the next day and Ryan stated that the part had to be order and that it would take a couple of business day for them to fix it. I called two days later and Ryan hadn't had a chance to work on the truck yet. So, I asked Ryan to have my truck ready for me to pick up at 5pm that day weather he works on it or not. Visit #3. Ryan called me a couple of days after stating that he wanted to make things right for me and if I could drop the truck off, that he would handle everything. I believe on given people a 2nd chance. So, I dropped it off and Ryan stated that it would be a couple of days to fix it. It actually took over 5 days for me to hear back from Ryan, and that's because I called to check on my vehicle. After all, I picked up my truck on 10/31/2017 and Paid $3596.81 in service charges. a couple of weeks later, the truck started acting up. Not as pronounce as it was before but enough for me to know that there was still a problem. Visit #4. I called Ryan directly and stated to him that the truck was still acting up. He recommended to bring it back and that he would handle the issue. I dropped it off the truck on December 20, 2017 at 10am...........Same thing again. Ryan wanted the truck to be left over night. I couldn't, so I picked it up and dropped it a few days later. He called back stating that it had nothing to do with what they had done but that he could order the part and call me once it was in for me to bring the truck back. Visit #5. Ryan called me on January the 5th, 2018 and said that the part was in. I dropped the truck off on the 8th of January and GUESS What.... Ryan didn't get a chance to see it because the Mechanic had to leave. I picked up my Truck and I'LL NEVER RECOMMEND HILLTOP FORD FOR YOUR VEHICLE SERVICE NEEDS, AND DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND TO WORK WITH RYAN NELSON!!!!!! P. S. NO STARS. Salespeople may not have shirt and ties but still slick crooks. Sold female 63 yr old an undisclosed damaged car who had told salesman would be using car to take 1 yr old grandchild in. Very charming sales staff convinced lady car mechanically sound, but when had two outside mechanics inspect vehicle both said right side car had prior damage as side panel replaced, old brake pads, front tires bald, knocking sound on right side. One mechanic said don't buy this car has been damaged and not right. General Manager, G Smith, boasting of 28 yrs experience, yeah, experience in knowing legalities on how to take advantage of customer. Very rude and obnoxious trying to blame customer to overshadow the real problem of not disclosing vehicle having prior damage because who would buy it if known. They got an Audi TT as trade in. Took advantage oder woman, whom they must think is stupid because old. Wrong!! Take car to mechanic and have checked out before they sweet talk you into signing papers because likely something is wrong with car. Don't believe CarFax report as if not reported not in report. Car was previously from car rental company car, the only one owner whom dont have to report to insurance co or dmv damage as have internal repair \ service depts and dealership knows this and gets cheap then jacks up price BEWARE they want a sale at any cost and ARE NOT honest! . Salesman will tell they will fix car if anything found wrong in 72 hrs. But verbal agreement doent mean jack and they know it. Get in writing any promises make. Better yet, dont do business there as this place is synonomous wirh SCAM big time!! How about car had been undisclosed accident with side panels replace. 2014 car would not have bought at full price is had known? Would you? scammers at your best...smooth taking Crooks. Don't Buy There. Rip Offs!!!!! Took advantage of older woman is disgraceful. Descitful tactics are shameful. Say will not take car back. Just received delivery of a 2011 Ford Explorer Limited from Hilltop Ford. Smooth, effortless, and pleasant car purchasing/leasing experience. Did I mention that I live 500+ miles away and have never set foot in the dealership? Approx. 1-month ago, I started emailing and contacting several Ford dealer internet departments looking for a Ford Explorer in a particular color and with specific features. I found a few around. However, none of them were as courteous, patient and knowledgeable as the internet staff at Hilltop Ford. Most important, they were straight forward and honest in negotating with me. No cliches, never heard "Why dont you just come in and we'll make you a deal?" Adam Brown and Melissa Kangas were so nice and easy to negotiate with. It took about 3-weeks and several phone calls (from me to them, no pressure) to finally come to an agreement. When I asked about incentives to assist in my purchase, they went out of their way to assist me in finding possible incentives from Ford I could qualify for. This was what ultimately sealed the deal for me. Yesterday, the Ford Explorer was delivered via platfrom truck to me in excellent condition, amazing detailing job inside and out, full tank of gas and all the paperwork in the center console. Even though it was early evening hours, Adam still called to make sure everything went fine and if I had any questions regarding the features of the vehicle. Wht can I say, Well couple years ago I bought a ford edge, The salesperson guy, was great really helful, too bad 3 years later my husband lost his job, couldn't keep up w/ the bill and stopped paying the car. Things got better and we went back, loved the service and the help. Got a new car, love it. Today My husband and I went back to try and buy a pickup truck for his job. Talked 2 the same guy who helped us getting the other car . Great guy, Thanks Carlos! Too bad he has a manager named Jimmy, wht and ass. A guy without any principals, with out respect to others and no manners. If one day u want to feel like trash, like you aren't worth anything. Go talk to this guy, horrible person talking shit right infront of our faces, thinking we spoke no English and din't understand a word, he was saying. Guess wht? we did! Lets make this clear and simple. The problem the NBA and the clippers's team owner have about all that talked he said, is a joke compare to the way this guy talked. We as clients deserve better. I am 79 years old and I have bought many new cars over the years and I have come to detest car salesmen. I went into Hilltop Ford in Richmond, just looking and didn't even want to talk to anyone. I refused to talk to a couple of guys who were following me around wanting to help me. I am an admitted grouch and had a chip on my shoulder. Then I ran across Noel and asked her a quick question. She invited me to sit down and I very rudely told her I could listen standing up. Within one minute this lovely lady had me sitting at her desk asking many questions and it wasn't because she is pretty. Unlike most car salesmen I have encounter I was impressed with her knowledge of not only the Ford products but other vehicles as well. She didn't give me any B/S and when she wasn't sure of something took time to get the correct information. To make a long story short, I left there with a new car. Noel invited me to come back anytime if I needed help with any of the computerization they have in these new cars. Since I am computer illiterate I have been back a few times already and true to her word she has been very patient and helpful. I did some research and pick 2 choice. 1.Ford Fusion 2.Kia Optima Here is how my day started. I pulled into Hilltop Ford and was greeted my a sales man Ron. He showed me a fusion, and keep in mind i have reached both car. I started to ask him simple question which i already knew the answers. i asked ron if there was anyone else that could him me. His answer was no im the only one that can sell fusions.......i got in my car and left. I drove around to Kia, which was my second choice. I got out of my car i managed to look at some kias and then 2 sales people approached me Brendan and Adam. They were nice until brendan started acting funny telling me about some kind of goal he and adam needed to make. he them told me he would give me money if i helped???????????????WHAT?????? Very bad Customer service at this dealership Dropped off my 2020 f250 diesel truck for a recall and rear view camera malfunction on Monday.July 29 Service Writer said will call me next day to let me know on progress, No phone call received until Thursday and was told it will be ready by Monday next week. I called in on Monday the flowing week the service writer said my truck is not ready and they have only one technician works on deisel and have many diesel ahead of me and said will be done by Thursday or Friday. I came to the dealer on Friday and was told it will be done today he will call me at 4:30 but did not happen so I called them around 5:45 and the service writer said he will let me know on Monday or Tuesday (again!!!!?!?)!!? If they are too and can't get the work why put me in the schedule and take my car This is my work truck as I am a general contractor and need my vehicle to haul heavy equipment, tools and materials. Hence, the need for a diesel truck not only did they not offer to give me a loaner truck, but they make it seem that I am the reason why they can't get the work done and I have to rearrange all my job sites to accommodate the dealerships problem of not being staffed. read more

I've had nothing short of a great experience with Hilltop Ford; John Tomahn (sales) went above and beyond to ensure that I was happy with my purchase and his service. I got my first financed vehicle with him, and honestly, it would not have been possible without John's help!!! I was extremely dramatic and weary of making my decision to leave with a pre-owned vehicle yet he was very patient with me and took the time to explain everything (literally EVERYTHING, I was very uneducated on the process of financing, choosing a car) I left with a used Ford Fusion that only had 27,000 miles! I purchased my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport from Hilltop Ford, and unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. The vehicle has been subject to multiple serious recalls--including a fuel injector issue with fire risk, seatbelt problems, and battery concerns. On top of that, I had to replace leaking rear shocks and a brake bulb under warranty within the first to second year. I reached out to Hilltop Ford Service via email--twice--to inquire about possible options for resolution through Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program. Despite the seriousness of my concerns, I received no response at all. This complete lack of follow-up or accountability is unacceptable, especially when it involves safety-related issues. I expected more from both the dealership and Ford. If you're considering buying a vehicle from Hilltop Ford, I strongly recommend paying close attention to how they handle service and post-sale support. I have been getting my oil changed at this location for more than 7 years and it should not have taken me this long to write a review. I have always enjoyed Kevin Bracy's professionalism and comedic character as it makes my time there very enjoyable. Today I met Senior Mgr. Dave Zyski who is extremely nice and he keeps the shop running efficiently and smoothly. I have never made an appointment for an oil change and I am never there long waiting for service. The staff are great people and their service in superb. I was even tempted to purchase a new car today as my mood was was just that good. LOL. Hilltop ford has been a go to dealer for our family for quite some time (about 15 years) I had great experiences at hilltop since I was a kid watching my family get new cars and now it was finally my turn when I bought a work truck for my construction business , the manager jose and our salesman Jhonatan made everything go so smooth and at the end I was content with the deal and of course the truck, this was about 3 months ago and now this passed week I went in to by the wife and explorer and ended up coming out with a mustang gt same thing again jose & Jhonatan made it go so well and smoothly definitely best car buying experience I had, will definitely recommend hilltop ford for all your vehicle needs and be sure to look for jose jonathan they get things done and try there best to make sure you get a great deal! I called on Friday for a service appointment for my car: "sorry, the person who makes out appointments is gone today. Call back on Monday." I called back on Monday: "sorry, the person who makes our appointments is gone again today, call back on Tuesday." There is supposedly just one person in the entire dealership who makes service appointments. Just ridiculous! The service department is appointment driven, so no service appointments means no way to access the service department at all, due to this personnel policy. Here's the kicker for me: I pre-paid for a service contract when I bought the car, so I am really stuck with this dealership. There used to be two dealerships in the area, but the Albany dealership shut down its service department altogether.... So Hilltop is unfortunately the only game in town. read more

In the end after taxes and fees in California mind you, we got it for 78k! And they threw in the first oil change! We love our new 2025 Ram 2500 Cummings 4x4! The entire experience was 5 stars.

As a single parent and a caregiver for my elderly parents and my son with special needs, I was at their mercy to take care of me since I didn't have the time to take care of anything else. Well needless to say I was duped! I was so ready to walk away from the Hanlees group entirely. Everything changed when I got a call from Jim Totah, the Director of Sales Operations. Although the issue began at the Hyundai store, Jim is located at Hanlees Toyota, and the difference in management and atmosphere was night and day. From his very first message, I could hear a level of sincerity and kindness that reminded me of an uncle or a grandfather(someone who cared about me). He didn't treat me like a "sale" he treated me like a neighbor. He understood my hesitation to return to the Hyundai location and graciously met me at the Toyota dealership instead to ensure I felt safe and comfortable. Jim is a true hero who restored my faith by personally sitting down with me to go through every single line of my contract. He took the time to listen to what I needed. He said he wanted me "to be happy" with my purchase! He corrected several significant financial discrepancies that had been added to my initial agreement at the other location. Once we reached an agreement, he introduced me to Felipe Cortez, the Sales Manager at Toyota, to finalize the paperwork. Jim was right to have total confidence in him. Felipe is a complete stand up guy and, like Jim and myself, he too grew up in San Francisco. I felt 100% respected working with both of them. They ensured my 2026 Santa Fe included the full 10-year/100,000-mile warranty and the 3-year maintenance I was originally promised, all while bringing the total cost down to a fair and sustainable level for my family's budget. Jim Totah is a man of his word and a true advocate for the community, and I am so grateful he and the Toyota team gave my first car purchase a second chance at such a positive outcome! Despite that conversation, I was charged $130 for a brake diagnostic that I never authorized. No one called or texted me to explain the additional work or obtain my approval before performing it. I left feeling overcharged and misled. Customers should never be billed for services they did not authorize, especially after clearly communicating what they wanted. I expected honesty, transparency, and better communication. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Since our mechanic keeps up with the vehicle's maintenance, these recommendations were unnecessary and left us feeling like they were more interested in selling services than taking care of the customer. To make matters worse, we've repeatedly asked to be removed from their mailing list, yet the promotional mail continues to arrive. It's frustrating that such a simple customer request has been ignored. Honest service and respecting customers' wishes should be standard. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience, and because of it, we won't be returning.
