I think the sales manager could do better, or be replaced, by Marlena. Yep, I said it.. He started by working really hard at explaining Kia's GAP insurance and almost insisting we purchase it. We already knew what it was and had purchased it before. He then proceeded to offer us $5k less than what our car was worth and convince us that the only APR available was 7%. Then he bragged about his credit and his recent purchase. Not a good experience. Please consider replacing him! We ended up choosing another dealership that offered us top dollar for our trade-in. Getting my dad's car serviced. Today the waiting room only had water and peanuts but there are plenty of outlets, usb chargers and seating. You can sit at high top counters if you want to get some work done and a view outside. Or sit in comfy chairs to watch TV. Luckily TV was at a low volume and the mellow music mostly drowned it out. FAST AND SPURIOUS: Hilltop Grift - I spent two days negotiating an EV9. Got the deal in writing -- VIN, price, taxes, payment. After we agreed and I filled out the finance app, they pulled the classic "oops, we made a mistake" and raised the monthly payment by $86. That's nearly $3,000 MORE on a 36-month lease and more than my other quotes. This had nothing to do with my credit (mine's excellent). It was just a bait-and-switch at the eleventh hour. Thanks Alana for reeling me in, Lewis for the follow-ups, and Sean for changing the terms once I was hooked. So here's the spoiler: I walked. To be honest, I have become quite disillusioned by Kia--on a corporate level. I literally had issues with my new K4 GT-Line as I drove it home from the dealership in Folsom on February 8. And these issues have not been resolved, despite multiple service visits to evaluate and re-evaluate the problem. Again, my complaint is directed at Kia Corporate, which keeps making me return to the service department and submit a road test, which EVERY TIME PRODUCES THE SAME RESULTS. I feel I am being played. But amid this ongoing evasion, I will report that Christian Padilla at Hilltop Kia has gone above and beyond to comply with the absurdity of Kia Corporate's redundancy and has taken this matter under his wing as a personal project to see that it's resolved.
