We have been customers at this location for 40+ yrs .....Sadly service has been getting worse and worse.... Cutbacks on staff equals bad service. May 7th my family & I walked in 6:30am, waited over 15 min hoping somebody would come out to greet & seat us and that never happened. So, we ended up walking back out along with 3 other families that were already waiting before us. Only 1 server was available and she was unable to service all customers. Previous visit we had a horrible experience with quality of food; cold and stale crepes. We wanted to give IHOP another chance but we will definately not return unless service and quality improves. Other options are well worth the drive if no improvements are made at IHOP MP. I hope management takes our comments into consideration and makes the necessary changes. It's been a year we have been to any IHOP including this one in Monterey Park. We love family restaurants like IHOP because they have a good menu and affordable price and plus money saving coupons. Each time we come to IHOP their menu always changes depend what popular on the menu and most popular meal in IHOP is breakfast I don't know why. We got seated right away and look at the menu we know what to get I order the fried chicken dinner and my wife got breakfast chicken fried streak. The waiter brought us our food we could smell the food. I took a piece of the fried chicken it was crispy and juicy when I took a bit I can hear the crunch of chicken. It was really good great flavor of chicken and the coating and it was cook perfectly that was really good fried chicken. The butter corn was so good also good flavor and the mashed potatoes wow amazing flavor I mix the butter corn with mashed potatoes adds another level of flavor.. The garlic bread was good.. This place is just delicious! Service is always amazing and fast. Yes it's always packed on weekends but it's because it's yummy! Totally worth the wait. I highly recommend arriving super early like 7 am on weekends but during the week no need to be an early bird. The place is always nice and clean and the food is always served hot and yummy. I've only been here once (so far) for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 8:30am, and it was great! I saw the IHOP when I was hanging out with Vince V., before, and made a mental note to try out this IHOP next time I'm in this area. This IHOP is in the same shopping plaza by Cal State LA. Parking: Spacious parking lot. I was greeted immediately upon entry, and waited for 5mins while they cleaned my table. Afterwards, I was seated. Service: Five Stars! I don't recall the older Hispanic gentleman's name, but he was kind and patient with me. He had silver hair and a silver mustache, and his service area was near the kitchen, along the 1-2 seaters area. I appreciated as a single diner, I never felt rushed by him to order or to eat, even with the house being packed. I also digged that he made sure my food was up to par, when he had gotten concerned that I took everything to go when it had just arrived. I assured him that I had to go because my Mom finished her doctor's appointment earlier. He breathed a sigh of relief, and happily said "Okay, come back again sometime soon!" As for my food... I got the Colorado Omelet, served with a side of 3 Buttermilk Pancakes $14.99, and a glass water and two glasses of OJ $4.39. (Had one in house, and took the refill to go). I had some bites of my breakfast later on that night. The Colorado Omelet was delicious and hearty! The steak and bacon was plentiful and yummy, while the tomatoes and bell peppers were tasty! They get a 1 star because I dont have a option to give them anything less. We came here as a party of 12 after my cousins graduation from ELAC. It was about 940 pm when my aunt walked in before the crowd. They told her it would be about a 35minute wait and it ended up being 50minutes. They attempted to seat our party in 3 booths of 4 people each. We declined. So they left the booths empty. They opened up another room and sat our party of 12 and a party of 5. It took them about 10minutes to come and take our drink order plus another 10 to bring them out. We waited more than 45 minutes for the first dish to come out. My aunt and uncle ate first. We mostly ordered the same thing so the kitchen should have been able to sort it out easily. Apparently not. By the time the 2/3 of the order came out there was issues AND the graduate didn't get to eat her food. We came here to celebrate an accomplishment and it was a damn disaster. They ended up getting boxes to go because it was 1120 pm and we have work the next day. And even then my young, autistic nephew was waiting for his plate and his 7year old brother kept asking for his plate as his 7year old cousin ate the same as what he ordered. He was crying and hungry HE FELL ASLEEP AT THE TABLE! Our order wasn't even complicated. Finally all the adults and 1 child were served. The other 2 children saw everyone get their plates. Went to this location at 2am. I heard about the Addams family menu and I wanted to try it, especially after coming home from Horror Nights. The food is horrible. I ordered the stuffed cream French toast and it's simply nasty. It tastes old not fresh. It seems like it's something that was frozen, thawed, dipped in egg and placed on the griddle. The pancakes are the same, they look like they're frozen not fresh made. One more thing, I don't know when was the last time their vents were cleaned because there was a tiny tiny bug running across my burger plate.
