We placed an order for a to go, since there is limited parking around the area. Two of us ordered house kimbop , tuna kimbop, don(pork) katsu, and soon doo boo jigae. I was very excited to find this place since I recently moved from Chicago and was craving for authentic Korean food. When we came home and opened the order, kimbop and don katsu was great, however jigae(soup) was only half way full in the to go "tube box"... with only 3-4 tofus in it...also, there was no side Kimchi. With 4 orders, we didn't even get one side of Kimchi. All the yelp photos paired the meals with the Kimchi and the jigae looked very full of ingredients and I'm not sure what happened... I'm disappointed...dine in or take out, it should be the same...right?? Maybe I need to try it out one more time? read more

From the approximately 10 times I have visited K-Bop since their store opening in the middle of 2016, they have made many changes to the interior, exterior, and the menu, both good and bad. The good: -Bright yellow exterior and the sign is inviting -The hand-painted drawings on the store window, window, and menu -Additions to the menu -A lot of seating -Clean -Addressed the noise issue. The music was way too loud before, but now it is okay. -Extended their hours by one hour The bad: -The frequent change of recipes (specified below) -Hard to navigate inside the store. You have to ask people to scoot in so you can squeeze behind them to get by The reason why I am writing this review is because of the change of recipe for the kimchi jjigae. When it first opened, they had it with tuna; t was good. When I went a week or two later, they didn't serve it anymore. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they decided to add it back on the menu a few months later. It now had pork instead of tuna. Still good. Fast forward to today. I ordered a kimchi jjigae like I always do. Then comes a Korean noodle pot with sausage, tuna, and NOODLES, not the pork kimchi jjigae that comes in a stone bowl. I genuinely thought there was a mistake because it had noodles, for crying out loud. I went to the cash register to address this issue but was told that it was, indeed, kimchi jjigae. If I wanted noodles, I would have ordered the ramyun. Long story short: If you're looking for consistency, look elsewhere. read more

I absolutely love this place! I always get the beef bulgogi bowl and i ask to make it spicy and it is truly the most delicious thing ever! However, a lot of the employees there don't know how to make it spicy, but I believe it's the manager who does..so i try to go when he's working cause it really is the best! I took my friends who visited from Dallas here and they got the same thing I always do and they fell in love with it! Really cute and small in terms of the interior, obviously not the fanciest of places since its a quick drop by restaurant and is located on Guadalupe. The actual quality of the food is decent unless you're a very picky eater you'll be pleasantly satisfied with the taste of the food. The menu consists of various Korean street snack foods but also have more fulfilling options such as katsu. They also sell boba and various drinks. The service is pretty good, water and silverware is self serve and the only "service" you're receiving is getting the order and calling you up to pick up your order. The employees are pleasant to talk to and will kindly explain the menus to you if you are curious at all. The reason I give a 3 star rating is because I personally believe that the price could be lower. It's not a lot of food, in quantity, so the price seemed a bit high to me, but it could be cause I'm a college student and am broke. All in all, I would recommend you go if you are craving a quick Korean street snack that is decently tasty. read more

Quality is okay. Food is decently good. Authenticity a bit lacking. K-Bop is good, but their food doesn't taste the most authentic. It's not Americanized exactly, but it has a hint of being similar to food you'd eat at a Korean fusion restaurant. The interior is kind of small and cramped, but it definitely looks a lot nicer than the Korean place that used to be there. I've gotten their beef bulgogi kimbap and their spicy chicken bulgogi bowl. I quite liked both of them! The kimbap was okay, but in my opinion not worth the price. The bowl was decently good, but just lacking the authenticity of what real spicy chicken bulgogi tastes like! Like many others have said, I think the menu is pricier than it should be considering the portion sizes they give out. The restaurant is basically all self service with water pitchers at each table. I feel like I'm paying for a lot more than I'm getting when I come here honestly. Although I wouldn't say I love K-Bop, it has mostly decent food. Food was great and so was the service! This cute little restaurant is a must try. It's yummy! They have boba and smoothies, all kinds of teas. There's good mixes and bowls you can get but I chose the ramen. It has no meat thankfully! Or so she said. On the menu it says "ramen" with no other details. So I assumed it was safe. But turns out it was extremely spicy! I've had ramen around the world and I've never encountered any that is by default spicy! I couldn't finish it sadly. I had a caramel milk tea which was light and good. Didn't taste any caramel but it was still good. Also ordered a boba taro tea. Nothing was crazy amazing, but it was a good and filling meal. I've been here a few times before. I remember not being so impressed on my first visit, as the spicy chicken bowl I got was extremely oily to the point where I couldn't finish it. I came back yesterday and ordered the beef bibimbop to-go, and my food came out very quickly. At first I was put off by the spring mix on top, but the rest of the bowl had delicious flavors. The pickled cucumbers were especially good. At $9 not including tax, it was a bit expensive for me, but I will come back occasionally for a treat. I had the sun dubu jjigae (soft tofu soup with seafood) and chamchi Kim bop (tuna) and I was really impressed! I lived in Korea for several years, and this place is truly on point. The soup was spicy and savory, with lots of mussels as well as octopus, squid, an egg, veggies and some rock shrimp. The kimbop portion was large, and very authentic. They didn't provide soy sauce for dipping, but brought it to my table right away when I asked for it, along with an extra serving of kimchi. This is typical Korean "service-eu"; they find a way to go above and beyond. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Overall I was impressed! I love Korean food & I am so glad that this place exists. I love how friendly the staff is and I love their K-pop playlist! The place is very small though, so get there before lunch rush. The wait is short and the food comes out in a timely manner. I ordered the spicy tofu soup & I was very impressed. The soup was spicy but it wasn't overpowering. Not only is there tofu, it comes with mussels, squid, and an egg. It is also served with rice. A lot of people complain about portion size, but I was barely able to finish my soup! From my experience, this place is mediocre. I got a small tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and when they say small, they mean small. The portion was pretty ridiculous and priced at $5, which is steep. You could tell it was watery just from looking at it, and it was flavorless and bland. The proportion of rice cakes and fish cakes was pretty well balanced, however. I think I would rather eat the instant ones than eat the tteokbokki served here. I also tried my friend's spicy chicken dish and it wasn't too great. The place is pretty cute but super small and cramped. This makes it hard to move between aisles and servers seemed to have difficulty getting dishes to customers.
