For the first couple bites it was amazing, but pretty soon we noticed everyone who was eating outdoors went up to the window to ask for hot sauce because only having the heavy buttery flavors led to a bit of fatigue making progress in the sandwich. We soon hit the same wall and ended up dipping our sandwiches in the tangy hot sauce to add a bit of acidity to the sandwich. Though the sandwiches aren't too big, it's actually really hard to finish them and we were stuffed by the end. LOCATION Kahnfections is a couple blocks shy of the main Mission streets, so the neighborhood is much cleaner and quieter. It is not the modern, hipster place one might expect compared to other popular SF bakeries. We picked up the breakfast sammie, the tri-tip sandwich, the yogurt parfait and the almond croissant. Here is a breakfast sammie to rival Devil's Teeth: classic + garlic aioli + cheddar is such a perfect mix of soft and crunchy textures, creamy and salty flavors. The tri-tip sandwich came on a yummy brioche bun and was savory and satisfying. The almond croissant was unsurprisingly delicious given the croissant accolades this bakery possesses - not too sweet and perfectly rich. We came during a late weekday afternoon, and the croissant was the last in the case. The yumminess of the yogurt parfait was what surprised me - while small, the bakery uses Straus yogurt and homemade granola. Note that they only allow one person in the bakery at a time, so if you've come with friends, only one from your party can order for everyone. This coffee shop is definitely a hidden gem. It definitely deserves more reviews. I came on here on a weekend morning and it wasn't too busy, though I noticed many patrons got their orders to go. The coffee shop definitely has a neighborhood cafe feel to it. The small, window side seating looking out to the street and a few outdoor seating tables. The brown and white interior design. The display case with pastries has a decent selection of goods that I saw many customers do take out for. The Biscuit Sandwich was the biggest draw for me. At $10, it's not a bad price considering how large the sandwich is. Thick with egg, avocado, biscuit, and anything else you want to add into it, it's filling and will leave you satisfied.
