This restaurant has gotten better. I'm not sure if it's new owner or management but their food is better than how it used to be. Same menu but they're not dried out or old like it's been sitting there for a while . It even tasted better. Could not get any crab legs or any lobster on a Friday night. Line was so long and they had limited amounts. Most everyone missed out on getting the good stuff. To be fair, they should lower prices since they cannot provide all customers with the good stuff. Sashimi wasn't replaced. To truly eat everything they advertise, you would have to occupy one of their tables for 3-4 hours and do lots of waiting and asking. They need a much better system of proving actual things they say are included. Instead of just saying, they need to steam, you need to wait. Not a huge space, but not tiny either. Food selection is very adequate. Besides the standard Americanized Chinese dishes, there is a "Mongolian Grill". Also have a very small selection of sushi. Overall, not a bad place to go, but I wouldn't take my prom date here unless she's a power eater. One last thing: I am a Hot & Sour soup freak!!! My opinion is they have the best I've ever tied. On my 2nd and 3rd bowls, I dress it up with a few pot stickers or dim sum dumplings. I'll hit the salad bar for some green onions. read more

Pretty good food!! The salmon & crab tasted a little ocean like but other than that their foods were hot, fresh and delicious! I believe it was about $28 per person? They had delicious sushi as well! It was a good price for the quality of the food! The servers were quick in refilling our drinks and picking up our plates. We also liked how separated our tables were from everyone else! Yay, buffets still exist in Washington for gorditos like me. My latino asss got up and drove across town for this and joined all the hermanos y hermanas coming out of iglesia for lunch time. Went to King Buffet a few days ago and honestly for a buffet I was impressed. Price is more than reasonable especially compared to some other buffets in town. I will say they don't have a lot of food options given it's a small building, but what they do have taste great. Servers were super attentive the whole time and super respectful. Food was hot. Seating was a bit crowded even though they had plenty of other seating areas. Service was prompt. Was about $24 for one person. The crab was the best part. Chow mein was good. Chicken and other dishes were same as any other buffet and a bit dry . Shrimp was a bit dry..maybe left out too long? The signs all over the place saying "don't waste food" is really tacky. The floors are really dirty and gross. Usually the Mongolian grill is my favorite part about Chinese buffets but this one, whatever they put in it, was really gross. I didn't like any of the food except for the the crab legs and the Orange slices. The price was better than what was posted on the wall, which is why I'm giving my review 2 stars. My family hasn't gone to King Buffet in years but decided to come for my mom's birthday this year because she craved it. The food was good for the price that we paid, everything was yummy! I enjoyed the egg drop soup and ice cream cone the most, I got multiple servings of it! Our family was so full afterwards. But truly, the customer service topped it off! They constantly cleaned up our table, checked in on us, and were so welcoming. They even surprised my mom with a small cake, flower, and birthday song -- which our family so greatly appreciated. The food really surprised me in a good way. I had been to the big name buffets, e.g. Waynn, in Last Vegas. Compared with those big names, the King buffet is smaller, much cheaper and provides a smaller variety of food, but are as good as or even better in the food it provides. The snow crab legs were the best I have eaten. They are fresh and yummy. The Dungeness Crabs were well seasoned and tasted very good. They have sushi and all other typical buffet foods. At the end of the meal, i thought i would just tried one or two sesame balls as well because my kids loved them and had been eating them for the whole meal. After i tried one, omg, i went grab like ten more of those sesame balls, because they are much better and authentic than other sesame balls I have tried in US! We also ate their vegetables like bak choi and they are very delicious too. I usually wouldnt expect the food in a buffet to be as good as those in an individually ordered and served restaurant, but King buffet beats my expectation last night. I am from California. I had lunch at king and the food just wasn't that good, the salmon was over cook and dry, the chicken was dry and tough, the crab legs were so over cooked and water logged that you couldn't get the meat out lastly the meatballs and sauce was freezer burned. Update: I'm glad they put the price per person on the door itself lol. In the span of one year, I'm almost sure that they've changed the Lunch Price 2-3 times. Understandable, though, considering the number of competitors around them in that area. Right now, the Lunch Price (as long as you check out by at least 3:30 PM) is $10.45 for Adults, $9.75 for Seniors, and $0.87 (per year) for Kids aged 2-11. Still not bad for All-You-Can-Eat. I went earlier with my family again (Thursday afternoon around 12 PM) and it got busyyyy. It's been a few months since I last went, but I've honestly never seen King Buffet as busy as it got on a regular weekday (there were no specials, either). So I'll have to take back what I said in my previous review about it almost never being busy haha. Now I'm not too sure. But (on a weekday) you probably wouldn't have to wait too long for a table. After way too long of a debate webended up going to King Buffet in Renton for lunch & We will definitely be returning! Many times I'm sure. It was clean, the food was DELICIOUS to every last bite. It was prepared fresh and steaming hot! Exactly what I was looking for and satisfied every craving. Crab legs and the sushi were fresh and the quality is what I would get from my local, and pricey sushi spot. The staff was amazing! Super polite & very attentive!! It cost $55 dollars for my family to eat and we basically rolled out of the restaurant needing naps. Seriously such a great value. We were going to check out Feast but I was hesitant after the reviews. We stopped in there first and they were going to charge us $82 dollars pre tip upon entering not including beverages. I never walk out of restaurants but I refused to pay that upfront not seeing if the food looks fresh, hot, etc. or even if they had crab legs available for this outrageous cost. I have to redeem this place. People who don't like buffets and/or dislike a buffet even though they know what they're getting into, shouldn't review buffets. Hint, hint, Nnylster T., how can you give a place 1 star after you said there is a decent selection? That's basically all a cheap Chinese buffet can offer you for $7.99 anyway. (Actually I just checked, they have a pretty vibrant website lol, and it's $7.45) I went here on Memorial Day (a Monday) and kept thinking it was Sunday so when I saw the $12.95 Sunday Special I got really excited thinking they would have crab. They didn't, so I thought it their selection for the price was a rip-off. But then the bill came and I realized it was Monday! So in fact, the food was spot-on for being $7.45. I ate out my heart's content of beef, chicken, even some pretty good fish. Their hot + sour soup is the best dish they serve. The sushi is very poor -- instead of avocado they use lettuce! Hahahaha... how Chinese. That is why they get one less star. They also have a bunch of American-style food, like fried cream cheese wontons or something to that effect, and french fries... which were actually pretty good. But they do all the traditional stuff very well -- General Tsao's chicken, broccoli + beef, shrimp, BBQ pork ribs, fried egg rolls, etc. Oh, and kids are only $0.60 cents per year. So my 6-yr-old brother cost only $3.60. I like that system, I hate the buffets where you measure by height. And refillable drinks are only 99 cents! Come on, you really cannot beat that. read more

I honestly do not know of a cheaper all-you-can-eat buffet than King Buffet in Renton. And maybe that's why this place was so full of people during the sunny afternoon of my visit, despite the negative reviews on Yelp. You people need to chill! It's really not that bad. It's also not that good, but when you consider how cheap it is--especially during the lunch hours--there's not much that could go wrong. Yes, the food is generally greasy and of low quality. Some of the meats are kind of mushy and made me feel a little sick after eating, but the variety available here is enough for that not to be a problem. It's really a matter of choosing the foods you know you will like and sticking to them, because there's no way to try a little bit of everything and have enough room to fit it all. My advice for this restaurant in particular is that if it looks like you won't enjoy it, it's probably best to stay away. That about covers it for the cooked foods. There is a rather decent sushi section that I unfortunately didn't get to try much of. For me, the center of attention at a buffet is the desserts, and they take care of the desserts pretty well. They have a lot of cake and JELL-O which are just empty calories, but then there's also stuff like pineapple and banana and watermelon that make me feel less guilty after pigging out so much on all the previous food. I do feel that King Buffet is underrated because of the very reasonable prices and sheer volume of food they have. I can tell that they work hard to run the restaurant especially when it gets really busy. They even have a nice ambiance going on with the decorations and music being relevant to the whole Chinese theme. It's apparent that some people appreciate it, and some don't. I'm just glad for these people that their business is doing so well; I'd hate to see such a great place for a quick buffet fail just because they tried to make their prices too low. read more

Had lunch here last month with my mom. What can I say about this place? Not much. It was your typical chinese buffet with your usual chow mein, dim sum, sushi, salad, desserts and seafood. They also have a mongolian grill, which I did not try during this visit. I was disappointed in the food as it was not all that great and most dishes were really greasy. I did not think I would be back. Well my husband and I came yesterday because our God daughter was having her birthday party here. They have a good size section for parties and the employees are friendly and made sure you had your beverage and took away empty plates when needed. I tried the mongolian grill this time. There were two meats, beef and chicken, as well as cabbage, noodles, onion, mushrooms and bell peppers. They had six different sauces for you to choose from. It was okay but I didn't finish my plate. Same with my husband, he didn't finish what he took and did not go back for seconds like he usually did. We left unsatisfied and hungry. Anna was a manage and she is super nice and understable when i gave her a recommendation about the Lobster dish, it always run out the first and second customer. A sign should be post with limit, because these customer does not lile to share and being selfish. I et anna know about it and my daughter was being waoted.
