Run of the mill Chinese buffet. Hot tea available by the pot, which is nice. Decent variety of meat/fish/poultry, unlike many buffets. Varies by the day. Food pretty good. Chinese chicken wings always a big winner. Men's room in shambles: quite dirty, water on the floor, broken door latches in most stalls, broken tiles. Price very reasonable. read more

I ate here a few weeks ago and ended up with E.coli and Campylobacter which is from raw chicken. I went to the ER in my hometown and this is what I was told. My children did not get sick because they didn't eat what I ate. Please be careful. On another note, the food was amazing, you just have to be careful. The sushi was discolored and you could tell it was left out for a very long time. The hibachi food was very bland and had no seasoning to it. The food trays were empty and weren't refilled. The food wasn't hot and some were very dry. The cups, plates and utensils were not very clean. You could see leftover residue on it. How is this place still open? read more

Low quality food and very little options. Only thing that is decent is the snow crab but they take forever to come out and always gets taken fast. Waitresses kept staring at us for some reason. The plates were piled up at our table and nobody was taking them. When they did the spilled it and it got all over me and my cousin. Terrible service i will not be coming back again. Two things you should know about me: I LOVE buffets I have been wanting to try this place out Went there for lunch it was $8.95 - not bad. This is where that saying - You get what you pay for - applies. Ambiance: you know that Asian restaurant hole-in-the-wall vibe. That's what it felt like. Nothing wrong with that because some of the best places I have eaten in ChinaTown in SF have been dives. This place is in the cusp of being clean and dingy at the same time. Sushi: literally there were 4 options and there was a sign to only take 10 sushi rolls at a time. The sushi looked like it's been there for some time. Main course selections: Ok fried rice, noodles, BBQ chicken etc. were sub par. Options are minimal. Even the dish with the imitation crab had few crabs and more of the vegetables (the celery kind). One positive: There is a tepan grill (I think that's what is called). small options of ingredients but you can make your own noodle plate. Lets be realistic for a quick minute. Cheap buffets do not mean 5 star food. It cost about 12 dollars to get into this place for all the food you want. Is that a bad deal? This place delivers chinese food equivalent to your Panda Express's or your Magic Dragons. Which means that the food isn't completely bad. I come here every other week with my boys just cause buffets are a must go. Free re-fills on sodas and all you can eat ice cream. This place is perfect for the younger crowd. It may not be gourmet, but it is better than eating cup noodles. read more

I met a former co-worker for lunch here a few weeks ago. It was her idea, so I accepted without looking at Yelp reviews first. Unfortunately my experience was pretty much in line with everyone else's. The food is okay. Some of it wasn't particularly warm, which disappointed me. The best thing I had was likely the wonton soup. The frozen yogurt was super melty, which was too bad. I also got a pretty bad stomachache later on - and it wasn't from overeating since I only had one plate of food. Our waiter was fine - came by probably the right amount of times. The cleanliness in this place isn't exactly to the highest of standards. I worried about it slightly, but did my best to look past it. Its really a shame I love buffets so much. I keep putting my intestines in harms way. Its really a bad sign when my wife and I were playing "food-borne illness wheel of fortune". It wasn't that the place looked particularly dirty, save for the rotting fruit on a plate out front they have as some kind of offering to the Buddha statue. The food was room temp at best and there wasn't whole heck of a lot to choose from. They have crab legs, but every time they brought out a new batch the family of 12 ran up and grabbed the whole hotel pan worth and took it back to their seat leaving me stuck with another helping General Tso. I did not know what to expect when coming to this place. With that given, I was really shocked when I got there. It was dirty and messy. Their dish bins were only 10 ft from our tables and the whole time there, all I could hear was dishes clashing in the background. Their food is mediocre, nothing special, but not completely disgusting. Some of their food tasted old though. In fact, my jello that I got for dessert was basically wax. The food was room temperature, and just didn't taste safe. The only thing good about this place is that the employees are very nice and polite. Definitely won't be heading back to that place... the employees are always super friendly, the dishes are bussed often, the drinks refilled promptly, but sometimes the food is sub par, the selection is limited, and the staff doesn't seem to wash their hands between bussing and resetting the tables. The important thing to remember when reviewing a buffet of any kind is to compare it to like-kind establishments. The food is not made to order, it does not have pricey ingredients and it is not piping hot. That said, I think King Buffet does a pretty good job for what it is. I just had lunch there today and I found for the most part the food was pretty well done. There were some clunkers so my advice to you is stay away from the sushi but do have the fried chicken wings, the crab stuffed shells and any of the veggi options. I also found the spicy chicken to be pretty tasty. I didn't try any of the fruits or desserts so I can't say anything about them but it looked tasty. The service was very friendly and my plate was quickly whisked away each time I was back at the food tables. Just a personal note here: please tip these people! They work hard and I know they get stiffed by 95% of the people who come here. Do the right thing! If you choose wisely it is very easy to get your $7.75 worth of tasty Asian treats so as long as you don't have any perceived notions coming in you should have a tasty lunch. read more

Typical Chinese Buffet. If you want to eat cheap buffet in Renton, this is probably a good place to get your food. The food is mediocre, not spectacular, not bad. The food can be fresh, it can be old, but not inedible. The restaurant can be clean, not dirty, but not revolting. The have crab sometimes, sushi, Chinese food and dessert. The most unsanitary buffet ever! Went in recently and while almost slipping on the greasy floor, was seated close to another abnoxious group. Ordered from the grill and realized metal pins were leftover on my plate from the grill scrub tool used to clean the grill for mongolian. Noticed the metal pins and notified the horrible staff to have them only accomindate me with a 10% off my bill, I was furious. Will never come back! read more

We we're new in town and wanted to grab a quick bite. Asian buffet sounded harmless enough, WRONG! This place was full of rude, dirty, and noisy people. We stood near the front door watching what was going on for a couple of minutes. People were practically hip-checking one another just to get food. Kids were running around unchecked, some crying. Food all over the place. Flies buzzing around. We turned around and left. This place is GHETTO, plain and simple. If cleanliness is anywhere on your priority chart, DON'T LIFT A FORK HERE. I agree with some previous reviewers, you have to go to specifically cheap chinese buffets with the right mind set. It's a good deal seeing as you get a huge selection of food including but not limited to crab legs, conch, clams, a variety of stir fry, and a mongolian grill plus noodle bar. The food was solid. I recommend the crab, the stir fry, the fried stuff in general. I did not like the piece of steak that i got from the grill... too tough despite being pink in the middle. The sushi was... ok. The wasabi was clumpy and the sashimi was still a tad frozen. It was 10.95 per person for a dinner though and that's pretty good considering I paid $12 for Thai Curry the other day. read more

I hadn't eaten there for a couple years, thought I'd give them another chance. My mistake. Had lunch there today, 19 Nov 2013. The price was about a dollar less than much better Chinese buffets in Federal Way and on Kent's East Hill. I know all small businesses have a tough time succeeding, restaurants an even tougher time, so I hate being critical. But I just can't go back to King Buffet. Sad to say I agree with Mazz L's 10 August review. There was something a little bit off about every food item I tried. The sushi was iced. Many of the "hot" entrees were room temperature or cold. Some of the meats had been seriously overcooked and were extremely chewy. The sweet and sour sauce was very watery. Etc etc etc. I didn't try at least half their offerings, but everything I did try was lacking in some respect. There are signs on every table asking "Please Don't Waste Food!" Unfortunately I couldn't finish about a third of what I took as it was too cold/chewy/weird/etc. I'm really not that picky - often eat at McDs; love Kraft Macaroni and "Cheese"; drop my food while camping, brush it off and eat it. The food here isn't repulsive, just needs a better cook to get everything right. And cold food from a steam table? That's new to me... It wasn't inedible or sickening, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it nor go back. So I give it one star. If you don't mind driving south about 15 minutes to Super Buffet on Kent's East Hill you'll get a much better meal for about a dollar more: fresh and varied sushi hot/restaurant quality appetizers, entrees and side dishes much more variety and better atmosphere. I've eaten Chinese food up and down the West Coast for 45 years, but try them both and make up your own mind. Went on a day when it's packed, lines and people everywhere. Luckily we made reservation. Our first time there and it may not be the last. By any means, this place is not fancy nor spectacular in decor. To the food now, we had a good experience with the mussel, clams, fried chicken wings (was an amazing hit for us!), green beans well, practically everything. I didn't get to the dessert but I heard it was good.. Pricing wise, it was a good deal compared to other AYCE buffets. I don't know what all the fuss is about, but i love this place, you can't go wrong with all you can eat for 7 bucks and some change during lunch hours just be out before 3:45 or else they'll charge you for dinner. I love killing 4-5 plates and heading straight to the bathroom to puke it all out and repeating the process. They got a hibachi grill with a pissed off Vietnamese cook, a sushi bar and mispelled labels at the salad stand and a small section of American food for those picky kids.
