    Pad See U
    Tiffany F.

Ordered the pad see u and crab fried rice to-go. The pad see u was the worst I've ever had. Tiny pieces of beef and it was disgustingly sweet. It just tasted like straight up honey. It's also weirdly dark? Probably from dark soy sauce or some sweet soy sauce. But it has 0 wok hei taste. I threw it away because it was reminiscent of dessert and had 0 savory flavor. The crab fried rice was mediocre. No pieces of crab just tiny broken up pieces. As I write this review the flavor of honey/sweetness is just stuck in my mouth... very displeasing. I truly don't understand how this place is highly rated. It's awful.

Came here to meet a friend for dinner on a Thursday night. I hadn't been here before, but it looked like the place was newly remodeled. It was nice and spacious. When you walk in there's a bar to the left majority of the seating all along the ride side of the wall. It wasn't busy, so there was plenty of seating. The server was very attentive and nice, accommodating all of our requests. We ordered a few dishes - Pad Thai, Crab fried rice and Broccoli with chicken. The portions were large so we had plenty left over to take home. The dishes were ordered were good, but a bit salty for my taste. Overall the meal was good, but nothing memorable.

Grabbed dinner here on a weekday, it was pretty empty. Seated quickly and the server gave us time to decide what we wanted. I got the tom yum soup with chicken and it was fine. My friend got noodles and tasted pretty mid. Dinner here probably isn't the move (if you want good Thai food), but the brunch looks yummy.

I've walked by this place so many times and finally got to stop in! Interior is cute and clean, with lots of colors. The service is quick and friendly. Good for large groups! The space is much larger than you would think bc it snakes towards the back. We ordered the Thai fried chicken, crispy pad Thai, Tom kha, and Thai tea. The pros: The mains' flavors were really bold and yummy! I liked the seasoning a lot. Although some could say it's a bit too salty, I think they balance it well with sweet and sour. The Tom kha was my favorite! The cons: The chicken was pretty meh texture-wise, and I think we ordered poorly with the crispy pad Thai because I prefer chewy noodles over fried ones. I think for the price overall, the quality of the meats they use should be a little higher. The Thai tea also tastes a bit watered down. Overall, I think this place is solid for a casual night out. I'd come again to try the pad see ew, but I don't think I'll put it in my rotation quite yet.

Came with a friend to try out a new restaurant and because we had a coupon! Walking in, the ambiance is quite pretty and the restaurant is spacious. The restaurant is also decorated for the holidays, which is very cute! The service was good as well as the staff was attentive and filled up our water periodically while checking up on us! For food, I ordered the red pumpkin curry with chicken with a side of sticky rice! My friend got the red curry with jasmine rice, and we for cream cheese taffies to share! The portions are quite large- definitely enough for another meal to take home as leftovers. Food summary: Cream cheese taffies 10/10 I love these! Very crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside- a great blend for the filling of crab meat and onion! The sweet and sour sauce on the side was nice touch! Red pumpkin curry with chicken 8/10 I liked the curry and it was just the right amount of spice for me! Creamy and soupy with a ton of assorted veggies! Overall, I would definitely come back for the cream cheese taffies and to try out the noodle dishes!

They make crispy tofu stay crispy in a curry which is impressive! The mushrooms were delicious! We went on a Monday so it was quiet but the location is cute! The service was quick! I enjoyed the food and was curious about how avocado would work in a curry and it was good but it was interesting to have a mix of soft avocado and crunchy carrots and string beans.

So good Delicious Thai flavors, fresh ingredients, and perfect spice balance! Delicious Thai flavors, fresh ingredients, and perfect spice balance!

The presentation and customer service at KRUA Thai were amazing. The ambiance was cool and calm and we went on a very slow Saturday morning. they had an extensive menu that covered both Western and Thai cuisine. we ordered from the more "American-styled" side of the menu, and like I said, the presentation was beautiful. but after about 40 minutes in a very empty restaurant, I would've expected things to taste better. The pancakes were very burnt. As though they purposely charred all sides of the pancakes, the burnt sugar taste was not exactly pleasurable. They served their eggs in a fluffy matter, which was good, we ordered scrambled, and that is what we got. I'm not complaining because they were the best-tasting thing on the table. We got the fried chicken sandwich that was served in both a burnt and undercooked waffle with a mountain of coleslaw that overpowered everything else. which also didn't taste good. I asked a few of my friends who shared with me that their Thai menu did taste significantly better but also shared their dissatisfaction with the brunch menu. In my opinion, this is a classic case of spreading yourself thin with a menu that covers too many bases. I'm not saying they shouldn't diversify but if you intend to have something on the menu that people are going to order it should taste good.

Really enjoyed KRUA! Stopped in for lunch and enjoyed the yellow chicken curry and beef drunken noodles. Food has great flavor and the servers were quick and kind. Decor was super cute!

Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Tofu and Vegetables

Walking by the Mission District, my eyes were caught by the glowing neon sign of Krua Thai. I thought it was a small cafe but it turned out to be a charming restaurant. Their walls splash in pink and green and the wait was not too long. The restaurant gets narrower inside and they are adorned with wine bottles. I sat by the window looking outside. They had a wide selection of food, but I found the menu to be confusing. I wasn't sure if some dishes were add-one or entrees based on how they placed their items. I had requested to provide a couple of minutes before I ordered, but I was bothered constantly to make a decision. I chose spicy basil fried rice with tofu and vegetable. The food was not as spicy as I had hoped. I think I would have tried the other dishes but I was rushed to make a decision. The cleanliness in the bathroom could use a lot of work.

I'm continuing my search for the best pad thai in SF. I would rank this pad thai pretty high. The sauce was sweet and savory and soaked the soft noodles but it was not saucy. The chicken was also tender and moist and had good flavor. Would love to try their other dishes!

    Khao Soi (Curry noodle)
    Mahi G.

My friends and I ordered khao soy (vegetarian) and the pineapple fried rice. We felt like the khao soy could use more flavor/spice. The pineapple fried rice also had dried raisins, which we weren't the biggest fan of. Other than that the two dishes were decent. I also thought it was priced reasonably. The food also came out in a timely manner, and we weren't waiting too long, which was nice. The place was pretty casual too.

Came here on a Thursday evening and their reservation system was really simple! Not a lot of people there either. Good: - Decently fast service and really nice clean interior - Loved the pad c u here with chicken, it was so tasty and the noodles were chewy - The papaya salad was a great texture as well and really good as an appetizer - I was a fan of the Khao soi, it was a huge portion size and the soup was so good Bad: - A little overpriced for Thai food, felt like it was $5 more than other places Overall really liked this place! It was close to the Barry's we went to ahead of class.

If you're going to do that, do add a small bit of oil, it's really spicy. The chicken was tender which was such a good blend. Their Thai Iced Tea is so good and creamy. I only knocked the restaurant down by a star because the servers were pretty pushy with wanting us to leave despite the multitude of empty tables around us. Besides that, the food is really delicious. The papaya salad is amazing if you like spice! There was a great kick and acidity to the papaya salad distributed throughout the fresh vegetables in the dish. I highly recommend! The pumpkin fries were also a great choice: crispy fry with soft pumpkin inside, maintaining the overall pumpkin flavor profile. The sauce they provide on the side (sweet and sour plum sauce), cut through the fry but didn't overwhelm the pumpkin itself. For myself, I got the yellow curry with chicken. The curry dishes do not come with rice, so you will have to order that on the side. The curry is not only a generous portion, but FULL of ingredients. They do not skimp on the meat, potatoes, etc. Highly recommend trying Farmhouse Kitchen for some flavorful Thai dishes!

Fresh rolls - crisp and springy with lots of greens and tofu and a good peanut sauce to dip. Crispy pork belly sweet basil - the CRISP and flavor of this pork belly was to die for. Chicken larb - this was my favorite dish of the night. Heavy basil/herbs, just a little kick from the chilies, full on flavor explosion. I will be thinking of this dish for a long time haha. Beef Pad See Ew - chewy in the most delicious and favor packed way. Love pad see ew and this one was great! Pad cha scallop - Came out sizzling on a cast iron! This dish was fun and the scallops while small, were fresh and had lots of flavor. And finally, for dessert we ordered the black rice durian. We shared a pacific omlet--not much crab, lots of shrimp, and nice swiss cheese/scallions but tasted kind of fishy--potatoes were only avg. Son said huevos rancheros were average. We started with the garlic butter clams-small but tasty. Tuna tartar was excellent quality and enough to share. Samosas were more like empanadas--very good with peanut sauce so good it rivaled my own home made. We continued our culinary adventure with crab fried rice-delicious, a large portion and my son who lives in SF and has tried dozens of crab fried rice ranked it in the top tier. The pacific catch rice noodles with crab was also excellent-big portion, lots of crab, tasty. Final entree was their specialty-Mussaman Curry. Wow, tender meat/potatoe "stew" with a very unique flavor from the star anise/cinnamon and peanut--to die for. Creme Brulee was very good with lots of fresh fruit accompaniment My only complaint was a very limited wine selection. Lapisaia will become one of our regular spots for dinner!!!
