Kung Fu Tea's brand is what I would consider above average in comparison to the average boba store. I wouldn't say it is the best and I wouldn't say it's the worst either. They expanded their brand into the central valley because other tea shops in the Bay Area have taken the demand. The quality of drinks are also not the best in comparison to other boba stores. One thing that single handedly carries my entire rating of this brand is the boba. There was something about the boba texture in the Palo Alto location that struck me. It was boba but with the texture of slightly chewier mochi. The texture was just absolutely perfect. I don't know exactly what they did to make it so perfect but I intend to found out soon enough because I have been looking for this texture for almost 2 years of continuous tasting of other boba places. When they expanded into the valley they messed up that consistent boba texture but eventually the employees got used to things and were able to do it right. It still wasn't perfect but it was close. Would I recommend going to this place? I would say unless I confirm that the location has consistent boba texture. The teas and smoothie quality is just mid. The milk tea is enjoyable but Ive had better. There are better places in San Jose to look for boba. This review was placed here because I just found out the Palo Alto location was closed permanently. I may or may not want to try out this Kung Fu Tea location if I happen to be in the area. If you are more of a tea quality person then go to Chicha San Chen. This Kung Fu Tea location gets a 7/10 through a long time thinking process with this brand. read more

I got the Kung Fu Milk Tea and my boyfriend got the Oreo slush. Surprisingly, the Oreo slush is better than the their Kung Fu Milk Tea. The boba was warm and chewy. It wasn't as sweet as I would have liked (I like honey boba) but it was alright. The tea wasn't very strong. It had more milk flavor than tea so I was a bit disappointed. The Oreo slush, however, was very flavorful and delicious. I would come again and try something different if I was in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here though. read more

WARNING: Found this plastic lid in the cup today! This is so scary!!! I've used the kungfu tea app for almost three years for ordering ahead and this was just so ridiculous!I've just called the store and emailed the pics to the manager. I know exactly why it's there. My friend has been working for a bubble tea store for one and a half year. For the milk tea shaker, there are 3 parts, the bottle itself, the funnel like lid for the bottle, and this small one for the funnel lid. When they finished shaking the milk tea, they should first take off the small one from the funnel lid, put the funnel on the cup and pour the tea to the funnel, but it's obvious lily that they are so careless and the person who made this tea specifically forgot to take off this small lid first and it just went to the cup together with the milk tea. I ordered the taro milk green tea to go while driving and I hate why I didn't find this piece until I almost ended with it!!! I'll never have the taro milk tea from this store ever. read more

Another boba review...surprise, surprise! I've heard (and read) mixed reviews for Kung Fu Tea, which I believe is a national chain, but my experience was pretty solid. Weekday night, 9pm-ish, we cruised in after an event in the area. No line, though a few customers were seated, so ordering was a breeze. They have a decent amount of options but I was set on the Milk Cap Black Honey Tea, 50% sweet, 100% ice, no toppings. Wife ordered a Matcha Black Sesame. Both were super solid, especially mine. It was the right amount of strong tea flavor, creaminess from the milk cap, and light sweetness from the honey. Exceeded my expectation aka worth another trip in the future for sure. Decent place to get milk tea or other tea drinks and price point average around $3.70 to 4 something bucks for medium/ large. Ordered an oolong milk tea with boba and a rosehip milk tea with boba. Both were okay drinks, the oolong has a light flavor and the rosehip was little on the sweet side (ask for half/less sweetness) but nice rose floral flavor. I found out this tea house in the same plaza which had Lion City, my supermarket for all my exotic food needs. I am always eager to try different tea houses, and our favorite drink is the bubble tea. So we walked in, it was a bright and lively shop with huge posters on the wall. The environment appeared to be on the clean side. Tables and chairs were of bright colors which was mood lifting. We ordered classic green boba milk teas, brown sugar wow milk tea, and Oreo slush. They were pretty good, decent and solid in quality, no short change of ingredients and as requested. This place is an upgrade to the Tapioca Express that used to be here. I was excited that the bay area was getting a Kung Fu tea as I've had it in Las Vegas and San Diego. Unfortunately I don't think that it is up to par with the other locations. I usually get their almond milk tea or pumpkin spice MT (when in season). Their sweetness level is still pretty sweet even when I asked for reduced sugar. There are not many boba spots in the area so it's a good alternative if you are in the area but not a place i'd drive out of my way for. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes workers will be very attentive and quick to take your orders while other times I would be standing there for 3 mins not even being acknowledged and causing me to walk out without ordering. A good boba alternative for now but they'll probably be in trouble when 7 leaves opens across the street. read more

We love the variety of drinks they offer, my wife can't do caffein so she usually gets winter melon with milk cap which tastes quite good. Not the best experience ordering through the app and coming in for pick up. Came up at my pick up time and was told they had "no strawberry" for the day, therefore could not fulfill my strawberry lemonade order. (There was no heads up in advance. They'll just tell you when you arrive, in case you were in a rush.) I requested for a refund and was told that they could not do so because I ordered on the app. Keep in mind, I ordered through the actual dedicated KUNG FU app and was told they have "no control, no association with the app." To my confusion, as I was in a rush, settled for something that I didn't want and of course they took another 5 minutes to prepare. Why have an app if it's not "associated" with you and please, have employees who are at least more apologetic then the ones I dealt with. Will not return to this establishment. The shop is decently sized, with some indoor seating. Not crowded the few times I went! My favorite is the Kung Fu Green Milk tea! Super creamy and boba is nice and chewy. They have SO many drink choices and add their own flare to all of them! Their boba is delicious! Comes out warm in your cup and is so sweet and chewy! If I'm not mistaken, this exact same location had 2 boba companies that closed before then. Everything is the same except that they have another logo and way better servers now. Hidden in the small mall where the Lions supermarket is in Saratoga, they close late like 11pm. I had my normal taro milk tea with bubble and my friend had the mango snow slush. Boba cravings done! Saw all of the hype surrounding this place and was super excited to go when it was around the place I was eating at. The place is pretty small with only a few tables inside. It is definitely more like a grab and go type of boba spot. I ordered the kung fu milk green tea with pearls with 70% sweet and less ice. I was pretty disappointed by my drink. Service was good! We were greeted and got to order right away. As is tradition with any new place, we ordered the basic black milk tea and Jasmine green tea. We added pearls (called "bubbles" here). Price is fair, plus tax for two regular drinks with pearls came out to $8.08. Haha, almost looks like BOBA! We got our drinks about 6 minutes after ordering, since people ordered before us. The less sweet (70%) Kung Fu Milk Tea was a little too sweet for me, while the half sweet Kung Fu Green Tea was not sweet enough, but the subtle sweetness in the pearls made it balance out! The pearls were somewhat al dente - chewy but leaning towards undercooked/just-cooked. My boyfriend got a thai milk tea with boba and I decided to get a regular milk tea. My drink was okay but it wasn't that bad. On the other hand, the thai tea was quite creamy and delicious! Came here not really expecting anything great because of the stories I've been told from my friends but after giving this place a try I love it! The parking is spacious because it's in the same plaza as Lion Market. As for the interior, it's pretty nice! There are a few tables that are good for just hanging out and talking to your friends. As for the drinks, I got the Milk Tea with regular sweetness and it would probably be better with around 80% sweetness would be perfect for me. I have a soft spot for Kung Fu tea... because, I used to go there when I lived on the East Coast and they had opened one in the mall within walking distance to me! If you know DC, there aren't too many asian boba shops close to the city, and this was one of the first ones that opened near me that wasn't in the suburbs of Rockville. They have made it super easy to order on their app, and customize it down to the ice level, sweetness, and toppings, which is even more appreciated during the time of COVID so I can just order and pick up , without waiting in line. You can also customize what time you will pick up. I ordered the hot milk tea with coffee, which is milk tea with a shot of espresso. I ordered it 0% sweetness, which I always get. Think of the drink as a dirty milk tea, instead of a dirty chai! It was very flavorful, and I could taste the black tea and the espresso. They also had a ton of other drinks that looked good to me, like the milk caps, the salty milk foam on top. I love those! I also tried my husband's drink, the wow jelly with boba drink. Even though he chose 0% sweet, it was still a little sweet, probably from the jelly juice. The boba he got was cooked to perfection, slightly soft and chewy. Yum!
