Decided to try Lilli & Loo on a rainy summer night. Since it was raining, outdoor dining really wasn't an option. The workers then opened the windows, put up a divider, and sat us right by the windows, so we were "outside", without the rain. We ordered and got our food within ten minutes! Um hello giant lunch! I ordered delivery for lunch on the Yelp app, and it came 30 mins earlier than expected -yayyyy. I got a Thai basil bento box which comes with rice, dumplings, California rolls, salad and soup. What a spread. Didn't love the California rolls, I think it was mock crab. Used to be better. Lately, the food has been tasteless and watery. The wonton soup was almost pure MSG. A great shame, because it's a pleasant enough place and the staff are nice. I've been craving Chinese for a while and I heard good things about this place so figured why not (also helps they have a 20% discount for first time customers). I ordered the Age Tofu appetizer and the black bean shrimp dish (I added eggplant and asked for it spicy). Everything was perfect. The tofu was great, the shrimp dish had so many veggies and lots of shrimp, NO SKIMPING HERE! The only thing is that there were a lot of carrots and I'm not a huge bunny rabbit carrot-lover so next time I guess I'll keep that in mind with my order modifications. Lilli & Loo is always a required stop whenever I am back in New York City. As someone who cannot eat gluten, I had given up hope of having satisfying Chinese food long ago, but my hope was restored with Lilli & Loo. The gluten free menu is expansive, and filled with all of your favorite dishes across cuisines (not just Chinese). The pork dumplings are incredible (we always request fried), and a satisfying start to the meal. My wife and I are very partial to their Kung Pao or Orange Chicken dishes, and we always get the Singapore Noodles. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes, and we have yet to be disappointed with the gluten free food we have received. I can't wait to be back in NYC to stop by and grab some of my favorites again soon! read more

After becoming dedicated to my gluten-free diet, one of the foods I missed the most was Chinese food. I came across this place in a blog for celiacs and those with gluten sensitivities and this place is my favorite spot for gluten-free Chinese. I have dined here at least 10 times and I have never been sick after eating here. The amazing gluten free food keeps me coming back time and time again. A little gem that's clean, friendly, and very good food! Walked by and decided to get takeout. Offered ice water in a glass while I waited. They agreed to my custom order of corn egg drop soup with wontons and it was excellent homemade dumplings and soup was not oversalted! Went here for the first time today to try their food and ordered to go. The lady at the counter was not knowledgeable about what on the menu was GF vs not GF, so that wasn't reassuring given this restaurant advertises they specialize in gluten free food. We then told her to pack the GF vs non GF foods separately, and of course, they were packed together. Very annoying when people have one job and can't get it together. I ordered the scallion pancakes which ended up being very doughy with barely any scallions and looked undercooked. Not impressed. The best Celiac friendly gluten free Chinese food in the area. They have moved their location a few times but always a great meal for my family: steamed and fried dumplings, sesame noodles, rock shrimp, sesame chicken and other favorites. It gets four stars because I do come here often and enjoy it every time I come. I don't venture through the meats though. I always order noodles or tofu plates and they don't disappoint. My favorite is the curry noodles because they are light and thin. The sauce on the Mee Goreng was not what I expected as I've had it before and it's usually spices not a heavy sauce. I'm weary of trying their sushi because they are a Chinese restaurant not Japanese. The bubble tea is delicious and frothy.
