I've been here 3 times now and it has been delicious each time. I have tried the Caesar salad, the Cajun shrimp roll, the grilled cheese and tomato soup, and because they give samples of the clam chowder, I now order that too. I split that with my mom and we ordered a side of lobster mac and cheese. My sister got the crab grilled cheese and a side of lobster bisque. Again, I am not a big fan of lobster. I stopped here after work the other day and all I can say is Wow. The owners was handing out samples of the clam chowder - super delicious and with your purchase a free fountain drink. I ordered the clam chowder, crab roll, 6-piece lemon pepper wings and a lemonade. The wings was sensational, I would like a little more butter for the crack, but it was sweet and supplement very good. And the lemonade fresh made hands-down, some of the best. Tried Lobster Guys for the second time today and it was just as good as before. I got the Clobster roll again and it was so delicious. We also got the lobster grilled cheese that came with tomato bisque and it was good. The fish tacos came with three tacos, but were alright though. We ordered online and it took about 10 minutes before we got our food and when we arrived it was ready and the lady who helped us was super sweet and gave us a drink on the house which was so nice. I walked by and noticed Lobster fries on one of the windows and had to check this out. The food did not disappoint! The fries are hot with melted nacho style cheese but also spicy with some must have jalapeño slices and red Cheetos bits to spare and mixed in. If you like spicy food you should try it. The food tasted amazing but the colors are a feast for the eyes too. The owner was friendly and I down to earth. Cool rock and roll art in the corner but wouldn't mind if there was more of that. Okay, so I went there a last week for the first time. And when I says THIS PLACE HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! THEY DO! Their food is also so bomb, and the place is kept super clean, and have photos all over. Recently tried this spot and I've got so much to mention but let's start with the star of the show. The service was absolutely phenomenal. I could tell right away that the server had fine dining restaurant experience. Her expert level of using her awesome personality and also upselling us by highlighting menu items got us to add more items to our order. Bravo. It is a pay at the counter and pick up your food type of establishment but Maddy really went above and beyond to provide some of the best service I've ever had. Last time I had service like this was at Hells Kitchen in Valley Center, California. Smart for the business to have a cashier/server with such professionalism yet also a fun bubbly personality and pretty face. Perfect combination. We were going to eat somewhere else but Maddy gave us some samples and said "no commitment", so we came in and as she explained every menu item and gave recommendations based on our interests we finally decided on some great items including lobster rolls, lobster grilled cheese, some great appetizers and she even sold us on the lemonade. She explained that everything was made from scratch and the process which was really refreshing. She said the owner is really honest and transparent prioritizing quality above all. Loved every item, has zero issues with temperature, came out in a timely manner, which my favorite was the lobster grilled cheese as she suggested. Next time I'll try it like she said, with the lobster bisque. The clam chowder was excellent but the tomato soup also had its charm. The fries were perfect and everything was exactly how she said it would be. On top of this we have some other great additions: - Parking was a breeze. The convenience of this spot in a strip mall plaza is great. No issue to find parking ever. - The place was spotless, tables cleaned to perfection which I also looked over a few times and saw Maddy constantly cleaning and wiping down all areas. Amazing. Clean, beautiful dining area where anyone would want to sit down and eat. - The music provided such a great atmosphere, the early 2000's that were being played brought nostalgia and also set such a casual and inviting setting. Right on! A combination of such 5 star customer service, great music, delicious high quality food, and transparency regarding ingredients is what has made me a long term customer. I will be back and will tell all of my coworkers, friends, and family about Maddy and the lobster guys in Long Beach! Highly recommend. Unfortunately, First and last time coming here :( I placed a phone order and it went left so quick. I was told the order would be ready in 10 min, I got there 12 min after the call. They had forgotten to put my order in during a lunch rush so when I came up to the counter they got really frazzled. At first I was told I placed the order on the wrong app, I placed it over the telephone. They couldn't remember what I had ordered. Then I was told the folks in line before I came up to the counter ordered $200 worth of food so it would be a wait. If my single $30 order was supposed to be a '10 minute wait' I knew this wait would exceed my 30-minute lunch. I'm told this after I had paid. So I head back to work and call to see if they can call me once it's ready. They said it was already ready and they had to move onto the next orders. I'm confused w/ moving onto new orders if you haven't fulfilled ones already placed? Especially ones you've already forgotten about once? Why would you say there's a wait and then come out with the order immediately? The combo is more of a side of arugula with fries on top. They either mixed up the sauce, it was expired or the truffle/garlic aioli just tasted like thick sour cream. It was expensive for the underwhelming food and wayyyyyy too expensive to be treated like that. A mistake is understandable, disrespecting people's time and money after a mistake is... a choice. If there had been at least an acknowledgement that they messed up, it would've been water under the bridge. Hopefully they can get more staff during rushes- one to take phone orders, another to focus on in-person. Best of luck. read more
