This particular Lubys has some delicious home cooked meals. The hosts/hostesses are very nice and attentive. Especially one in particular; her name is Amyee. She is awesome! I had an issue the last time I was here and she was very helpful and polite. What's more awesome is that she remembered us! My family and I are between moves and we're doing the eating out most nights since we don't have our household goods, so life's a bit stressful already. I tried this location for the 2nd time since they re-opened after the Covid-19 shut down. Total disappointment both times. Today the counter tops were sticky and had bits of paper strewn about as I went through the line. Got my food, paid and found a table, then waited for utensils. And waited...finally went to get them myself. Along with a straw and salt & pepper. There has to be a better way Luby's. This isn't working! I love this place. The fried fish is the best. This store was busy as most of them are but it took no time before we were seated enjoying the great food. The sides I get are the okra and cabbage. These places are great for family meals. They have a little bit of everything and always fresh. So even the picky eaters in the family find their mac and cheese. read more

BREAKFAST WAS MY EXPERIENCE: My family and neighborhood friends went here for the first time church. We walked in at 1040am - for all you can eat breakfast (it ends at 11am.) There was kinda a long wait / line because there were only a couple of ppl serving customers food and several others in and out of the kitchen - don't understand why they wouldn't have more servers? The food was served just like it would in a school cafeteria. I ordered one pancake w butte and lite syrup (the butter was very salty.) I ordered cheesy grits (yummy,) eggs machaca (too soggy, looked gray & too many onions.) Last, I ordered potatoes (very dry and no flavor.) The lady who rang us up stated it was lunchtime now and breakfast was over... I told her we waited in a long line and have breakfast items on our plates... the food and service was NOT impressive. Now i know Lubys may be known more for of the place for seniors to hook up on hot dates but its definately a go to place for some quality food, good variety, quick service, and an almost homecooked style meal. Service is always great here n staff is always attentive ( literally got asked if i wanted a drink refill 10 times!! Haha). Had a great spinach salad with all the fixins n baked white fish with red potatos n broccoli. This was my attempt to eat healthy. Also a tasty jalapeno corn bread muffin. DELICIOUS!!! I absolutely love Luby's. My co-workers and I went here to celebrate a Friendsgiving of sorts and we were not disappointed. The cafeteria service was friendly and prompt and the food was piping hot and yummy! I enjoyed the roast chicken (which they served me "thanksgiving" style with dressing, turkey gravy and cranberry sauce), macaroni & cheese and sweet potatoes. Everything was so good (obviously not good for me haha, but good nonetheless). One of my co-workers ordered bread pudding - wow!! It tasted better than some bread puddings that I've ordered in restaurants. Just the right amount of sweet with perfect hints of cinnamon. Ok, I know, I was a nonbeliever too. Luby's typically brings to mind senior citizens I guess to me anyway. Well recently I was with my mom (LOL) and she wanted to go to Luby's, it had literally been YEARS since I had been even though this location is very convenient to my home. Wow all the good stuff I remembered was still there. Remember folks, this is still cafeteria styleW which means you get to see what you are getting. Takes a lot of the guesswork out. I started with a house salad which was really fresh and yummy. TheyI had all the extra veggies, bacon, cheese and croutons to pick from and the nice server added for you. I chose the LuAnn platter ("smaller entrée with two sides) I chose the bacon cheesesteak with mashed potatoes and green beans and a yeast roll. This was plenty of great comfort food. Think you're at your grandmother's house for Sunday dinner. We were both pleased with the portions and everyone who helped us were all very friendly. I've been to this Luby's many times, but this time was very different. The food was alright I mean I've had better, but what stuck out to me was the customer service. Our server named Eliseo was incredible. Usually, I try to avoid going to places in the last hour they're open, but this time my family wanted to go, so I didn't really get to object. Many of the employees seemed like they just wanted to get out of there, but our server seemed to have a very different energy. He was super helpful and very sweet. If our drinks got below halfway full, he would already be asking for a refill. He was constantly smiling and made it seem like he actually liked his job which I rarely see anymore. I try to keep the hood for lubys but this location has truly disappointed. I spend about 33$ one of my orders of baked fish was burnt on top. My jello for my son was missing . I tried to call and contact a manager to refund me for my missing items but no one answers the phone . I figured I'm gonna just take my loss. When I walked in I waited about 5 mins for someone to help me with my pick up order and no one in sight , only people that were working was for dine in & they were confused . Went in last night around 6pm to get Luby's take out. Place wasn't busy at all. Most employees were either cleaning and goofing off while looking like they were cleaning, or just standing around talking to each other. I stood at the take out counter for 3 minutes as several employees walked right by and said nothing. They all saw me. Looked me dead in the eye! Ignored me. I usually get great service. Service from the drive thru was not very good. It took them 7 minutes to take my order and then another 10 to get it out to me. The quality of the food was mediocre at best. Every time we go the line servers are so rude. We try to take our kids on the Wednesday free kids plate day and we get there early to beat the rush. Today we told the lady we need a second kids plate with veggies. She makes a big plate as we are holding up the line and we ask her if that's a kids plate and she just shakes her head no and doesn't say anything as we tell her it's for our two year old. Then she just dumps it on a kids plate and hands it to us. About the same service every time. Then they charged us for the wrong meal as we tell them what we had and then the waitress only comes by once. Food is way overpriced and was not good. Service here always sucks from the line servers to the table. Last time here! I wish people would just have some sort of pride in their work regardless of what it is.
