[[HIGHLIGHT]]Eating at MesaMar is an exquisite experience. This is a chic restaurant & bar serving a fusion of seafood and Spanish cuisine in a beautiful venue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] First off, we had been at the annual, private Seville Festival on Alhambra. This restaurant is right off the main street, located on Giralda. If you know Coral Gables, you know Giralda has the best restaurants and a fabulous nightlife. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything in this restaurant is great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Starting with our server, Lea. She was very attentive, funny and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered mojitos at first but they were pretty terrible. No sugar, not sweet for a mojito - very weird. We then ordered a bottle of Tempranillo, Conde de Siruela - Robles. This is a very good wine, that made up for the terrible mojitos. Our server arrived immediately with a basket of sliced french baguette bread and butter. The bread was warm and incredibly soft - yummy and good. For appetizers we ordered 2 of the fried calamari, they did not disappoint. These calamari were crunchy, not too bready and fresh, served with a side of marinara sauce. For our mains we ordered the following: The Linguini Del Mar. Which is linguini with shrimp, scallops, calamari and mussels tossed in a vodka sauce. Very tasty and full of seafood. The Boneless chicken with house vegetables. The chicken was very flavorful, even though it was butterflied and flattened. My issue was that the vegetables were predominantly mushrooms - which I'm not a fan of, only 1 piece of zucchini and 1 piece of squash. So, I ordered a side of fried yucca to accompany the meal. They were very scrumptious. For dessert we ordered the Strawberry Pavlova - definitely a misnomer. There were strawberries but no pavlova. A pavlova has a crisp crust and is soft and light on the inside. This desert was neither. No crispy, merengue, more like a mousse with a ton of dulce de leche in it. Ultimately, this restaurant is one to try. I very much enjoyed it and look forward to trying other options from the menu.

Loved everything about MesaMar. This was the best salmon I've had in a long time. The lobster tacos were great albeit small appetizer. The Star of the Sea cocktail is perfect for passion fruit lovers (no jalapeños for me but it is optional). Both the chocolate mousse and the almond praline were good. I love sweets and I'd say the almond praline was borderline too sweet for me. Very attentive staff and not hectic for a Thursday night dinner.

I came here today with my two friends to sample the Miami spice 2024 lunch menu. It did not disappoint. I ordered the following - Fried Calamari. This was so, so fresh. The calamari were soft and not chewy at all. The batter was so light and crispy. A great appetizer. My friends had the tuna tacos. I sampled a bit, and they were also very good. The tuna was extremely fresh. For my main I ordered the Linguini with Shrimp. This came with a finger licking garlic, butter, white wine, and parsley sauce. A solid dish. My friends ordered the Branzino and salmon. They stated they were very pleased with their choices. For dessert we all had their flan. This was also pleasant, although I wish there was more caramel sauce served with it. We also had a cappuccino each to round off our lunch. Not only did they look pretty, but they were wonderful too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is pleasant. Look at my photographs to see their unusual bottle themed chandelier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was also top notch. A five stars from me.

Really liked this restaurant! We sat outside and had a large plate to share as well as three appetizers. The tuna tacos were yummy but very small. The dessert was very unique and delicious. The seafood plate had some highs and lows. The lobster tail and the calamari was delicious. The fish felt very under seasoned. The ambiance was great and the service was very fast and excellent. Michael was our server and he was great!

Came here on a Saturday night with a girlfriend and we didn't have a reservation but we didn't have to wait long thankfully. The place itself is really beautiful, decorated nice and upscale but inviting as well. The service was awesome we had a really attentive waiter. We ordered the Crispy Rice, the Rock Shrimp, the Grilled Octopus, the Paella MesaMar and the Tostones side. Overall, everything was great! Top picks were the crispy rice and the paella. The tostones were average and the grilled octopus lacked a unique flavor. I would have liked more seasoning on it. The rock shrimp was good, definitely filling! Would I come back? Yes! That crispy rice alone was worth it. The paella was also packed with seafood so it's nice you don't get skimmed with that when paying a good amount for it. The drinks were also delicious!

Had the pleasure of going to this amazing restaurant. The food was delicious and well seasoned. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good fry fish. Everything was fresh (they actually let you pick your own fresh fish).

This review is a little late. We were there in July but nonetheless it deserves the highest praise and recommendations! The chef and owner of this restaurant is as talented as she is sweet and incredibly accommodating! She made me a guacamole after I begged her even though it's not a part of her menu! She came out to meet us and even made changes in her menu for my very particular request! The flavors in this restaurant are just exquisite and every single item on the menu is flavorful, unique and cooked to perfection. Lobster tacos are my personal favorite and the flavor is just so exquisite mix of light, tangy, sweet and maybe a tiny bit spicy. The famous dish to get here is custom made fish! It's served by pound and It can be cooked any way you want and make sure that you try that if you come. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is classy and very pleasant and the service is exceptional![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I need to go back as I love my deserts and that was one thing I didn't get to try!

I was in town on a Sunday night with 3 girlfriends before departing for a cruise. The meal we had at MesaMar was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life! Everything we tried was delicious. They had a special menu, appetizer, main course, and dessert for $60. I ordered the rock shrimp. It was so good in a tasty sauce. The other appetizer options were langoustine, lobster tacos, and salmon sashimi. We also ordered ceviche. Literally every bite of everything I tried was delicious. I had the filet mignon for my main course and it was cooked perfectly and so tasty. My friends wanted to try too. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse with oreo crumbles. It was very good, but the almond praline was even better! Marcos was our server and he was great, very attentive and didn't mind us getting a little rambunctious with mamajuana shots. The restaurant is small and cozy. The bathrooms were clean & nice.

Great place for a romantic dinner. The service is phenomenal and very accommodating. The food is also good, but I think I was expecting a little bit more from them in that regard. Nonetheless, it was tasty and I enjoyed my experience. You have to have the almond praline, it is probably the best thing I had there.

Ive been here several times before covid. We Live walking distance. We love the Tuna Tartare (but as recommended by Pedro) order it with the tostones! Delicious! They also have Flecha Azul (additive free tequila). Pedro is an asset to the restaurant, so friendly and hospitable. Thank you. We will definitely be back.

@annainthe305 These are actually half portions of arugula and paella. They kindly pre-split them for us. Everything was delicious!

When I heard La Pata Gorda was coming from Ecuador to Coral Gables, I knew I had to try it. I definitely went a little crazy ordering, but every bite made it worth it. First up were the grilled conchas (grilled oysters) and WOW! These were the star of the night. The flavor was so unique and absolutely incredible. Next was the shrimp ceviche, which was different from the lighter versions I usually have since this one had more of an orange colored sauce, but the flavor was still very much there, super good! Then I tried the encebollado, a true Ecuadorian staple, and it was delicious as well. Lastly, I had the seco de chivo. It was okay, not the best I've had, but definitely not the worst either. I just don't think that's their specialty. The seafood is clearly where they shine. For dessert, I got the coconut flan and it did not disappoint! I also tried their mango mule mocktail, which was really good and refreshing. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the service was top-notch, and overall it was such a great experience. I'd absolutely recommend coming here for the seafood, so definitely go check them out!

Francesco started as a well known ceviche restaurants in Lima Peru which is known for their great culinary experiences. The interior of the restaurant is very elegant and homey located next door to the Miracle Mile Actor's Playhouse. The menu here is traditional Peruvian menu with a gourmet flare. To start we order two appetizers the acevichado de Tuna and the Murasaki roll. The acevichado de tuna was sliced high grade ahi tuna, sliced avocado and drenched in a Creamy Ají Amarillo Sauce, very fresh and flavorful. The Muraski roll consisted of breaded shrimp, avocados, and cream cheese topped with slices of octopus and olive sauce. This was a spectacular roll with plump shrimps and the tasty olive sauce. For the main entree we ordered the Seafood rice and their sliced steak with shrimp sitting on top of cilantro risottos. Both dishes were exceptional but the steak was perfection tender and well seasoned. The pisco sour here is also a must especially the coconut one. For dessert we ordered a flan which very creamy and solid. I highly recommend Francesco for a nice elegant night out in the town.

Now there is a huge downside that you immediately encounter when you arrive. The parking lot is exceptionally small and people are parked every which way, except in the spaces. Getting to the actual building will take some time. The neighboring lots have pretty clear signs that they will tell you if you park there. So you're stuck dealing with what it is. The fish variety is good, although not great. If you're looking for strictly local fish, you'll probably find what you want. Several varieties of snapper and the fish looked wonderful and fresh. Some of my favorites like hogfish and grouper. You can buy the whole fish and they'll fillet it for you or you can buy fillets if they have them of the fish that you want. But the part I missed is having them cook it for me. Now that is something I would like to try next time The downside is they strictly local fish. You won't find any flatfish and I was surprised that they did not have any U4 or U6 shrimp which I like to use to make paella. In addition, I did not see fresh scallops. They did have some nice lobster tails although I did not see other shellfish. Some people have said the prices are reasonable; I found them about 20 to 30% higher than other fish markets I visit. The people here are really nice in the market is attractive. I will be back as I said to get a meal cooked for me in part because it is closer than the fish markets I usually visit and also my curiosity after reading other reviews. I recommend this market if you have the patience to wait for a parking space. If you're looking for the larger shrimp for paella look elsewhere
