We have another brand new MOD Pizza in the Sac Area! This one is located in West Sac just off the 80 at Reed Ave. I don't normally stop on this side of Sac, but to check out a new MOD location I will! It just gives me another option if I'm heading west to the Bay Area for something fast and good and cheap to eat. You don't normally get all three things all in the same place. This MOD operates like all the rest. You stand in line and the friendly staff builds you pizza as you move down the line. I wanted something different this time. I know all the ingredients as I've been to many A MOD pizza before. I started with the red sauce and cheese and then for my meat I told them to just cover the entire pizza with sausage ... solid all over! Then added garlic, roasted peppers and roasted garlic and more cheese to hold that all down. The staff had no problem with my request and never have at any location. Keep piling on that sausage! it's UNLIMITED toppings all for $8.50! If you want it extra crispy, just tell them! I like my pieces cut a little smaller then the 4 slices they cut the 12 inch pizza into. That's just too big to fit in your mouth easy, so I ask for a "6 cut", six pieces. I usually try to get to the cutting area to pick up my pizza before they cut, just cause they're just trained to do a 4 cut slicing ... it's the easiest to train people to do I guess, but 6 pieces? Well, lets just say geometry doesn't seem to be taught in school anymore! Slice it in half and then those into thirds ...... OMG, the poor girl couldn't figure that out! I know just 4 slices is easier to fathom, and is quicker, but common' a little training? Very rude when picking up my order. When picking up my order the doors were locked and when trying to open the night crew stared at me as if the door wasn't locked. When trying a second attempt Daniel came to open the door and immediately screamed , "Do NOT pull on my door or you can leave?" When attempting to defuse the situation asking Daniel "Why is there a need to yell at me and speak rude?" He replied back and said "If you aren't ordering or picking up you can leave." I asked Daniel again "Are you seriously being rude?" Daniel replied "Yes, so are you picking or ordering" So then I said "Thank you, have a blessed day and that I'm picking up for my order." The quality of ingredients is good, but I thought the selection is a bit more limited than some other ones I've been to. For your toppings my recommendation is to get red sauce, mix 2 meats, mozzarella + parmesan, 2-3 vegetables or other toppings. Service was solid, and prices are what they should be. I have always had a great experience here, but sometimes the employees can be rude. Maybe it was a bad day. I do not take it personally. To start off, MOD pizza is very inexpensive especially if you get the regular dough. Now, if you get the double stuffed that is about $11.00, but I still think that is a great price for a large pizza. You can add all the toppings you want and you only pay for the size and dough, no extra charge. My boyfriend and I come here often. He gets the same thing, but now and then I like to change it up a little. Sometimes I will start with pesto, red sauce, or white sauce. I do not eat meat so I always skip that. Although, I am not shy to pile on the vegetables and spicy stuff. The best part is they give out free sauces, such as, ranch. They have many more, but that's the best! This location is located near IKEA in West Sac. Very spacious and comfy seating inside and they also have plenty of outdoor seating if you prefer fresh air. You can choose Pizza or Salad (ahem) with over 30 toppings available. I have tried few of their pizzas from their Classic menu like Calexico which comes with mozzarella, gorgonzola, chicken, jalapenos, hot buffalo sauce, red sauce. Their house made iced-teas are also a must try. So far, we have been to this location couple of times for dinner and the service each time was ultra fast. I have gone to this location 3x in the last few months. I prefer the MOD 11" over the thicker crust option. I can barely finish half by myself so I usually split with a friend! My customization: white sauce, spinach, pesto, chicken, mushrooms, pineapples, corn, tomatoes, and cheese! (I'm a weird one) Let's talk about service. Service is pretty solid and the vibe is good. I'm always greeted with a smile and all the staff are easy to talk to. I feel kinda bad when theres so many customizations but I do sincerely appreciate that the staff is chill about it! So this was my first time here and I was fascinated from the beginning. Everyone at this location was extremely friendly ( today's shift had Tori, Bella, and Aaron). Thank you three for being so sweet. Customer service makes going somewhere so much better and you guys NAILED IT!! I'll definitely be coming back. We came in around 5 pm and we made it just in time before they got a little dinner rush.. They kept they line flowing and maintained their friendly service. Ok, so you walk in and there are menus of how to order a pizza - that they have the ingredients for already and or you can build your own pizza. And it's cool that they don't charge you for toppings, they charge you by the dough you pick and if you want it thicker or not. The dough was fresh and so were all the toppings. And everything behind the glass was kept nice and tidy! The 11 inch pizzas are $9. Which is pretty good considering all the toppings you can get. We had 2 of those & added a medium Caesar salad and it ended up being around $30 (without drinks). The salad was delicious. Super fresh and the Caesar dressing was nice and creamy. My favorite part is that you can put as many different toppings as you want. We came here tonight to try it for the first time. Overall the food was great- lots of options and great pricing. The restaurant is very large and very clean! I only had two issues- the team was not friendly. They weren't rude by any means but definitely didn't have the customer first attitude which MOD is founded on. The guys who took our order acted as if he had better places to be which is disappointing considering we were 1 of 2 family's in there. Then my daughter ordered a float and was handed a vanilla milkshake with no instructions on the fact that she needed to add the soda herself. Cool concept which she loved but a small explanation when you order that would have been great.
