Their posted opening times are wrong. This restaurant does not follow their published opening times. They close whenever they feel business is slowing down. I was there last night (Wednesday) at 10:00PM and they were closing up and not allowing anyone in even though their posted time says open till Midnight. Visited this location on a Friday with a reservation made on Resy for 9pm. It's Los Angeles, so the parking lot was full, we ended up parking at a structure across the street for $20. I went with my partner and we got the special set + a kimchi pancake. The meat was sooo yummy and I didn't feel gross afterwards like I usually do. The special set came with a soup at the end with ramen and meat. They cook it for you and it does feel a bit rushed. The ventilators above the grill are also not turned on so the smoke was just making me tear up since the air was directed towards my direction. The kimchi pancake was interesting, considerably thicker than most places and there were jalapeños (?) in it. Didn't eat much of it. I also ordered an orange slushie which was very sweet and refreshing to have with the meat. Overall, the tab was ~$150, and I can't say it was worth that high of a price tag when there are places like chubby cattle where you can get much more for your money. read more

I have been coming to Origin for several years now and they never disappoint. At first I came here because Quarters had too long of a line but now I will happily choose Origins. The service is always so fast, efficient, and wonderful. The food is delicious (I either come here with my husband or friends) so the specials for 2 is perfect (usually more than enough food) for us. The galbi and pork belly are always perfect and the ramen is a perfect ending to the whole meal. Highly recommend. It's in a fun little center with other food and bars nearby, and there's a cute store next door you can shop for fun toys and candy while waiting. It's Ktown so parking is always up in the air but there is valet parking. read more

We heard such good things about this new (ish?) kbbq spot so we had to try. This is in the same plaza as quarters so parking is a bit tough, but there's valet if needed. It isn't a AYCE, but a set menu. We got: -the Origin Set for 2 ($95) -kimchi fried rice -beef tartare There was so much food and everything was amazing. We made the mistake of ordering 2 extra dishes (fried rice and tartare) because even if it was so good, we didn't realize there was a huge ramen at the end that was included so keep that in mind. If you love side dishes and dips like me, this place has the most side dishes I've experienced. Loved it all and highly recommend!! read more

We went as a group of 4 and ordered the Halla set. When the raw meat first arrived, we had our qualms- it didn't seem to be a large enough portion to feed 4 people. Boy were we wrong! Unsure if it's the way they cooked the meat or speaks to the quality of meat itself, but this is the first time my thin sliced meat like brisket didn't actually lose volume as it cooked. I also loved how everything was designed to let you enjoy it as ssam- lettuce or sesame leaf wraps (or rice paper or radish, the world was our oyster). Service was extremely excellent- they came by at the exact right time to keep cooking everything perfectly, immediately brought refills of any banchan we requested, and overall were fantastic. They also paced the rollout of the food very well and finished with a ramen brisket soup. We were very full at the end. I was so impressed I had to come leave a review. read more

The place at first glance is clean and spacious but not too enormous. I loved the menu and the flyer of how to wrap your meat with lettuce. But the food lacked for me. The ramen soup had great visual appeal. My mouth started watering instantly but the taste was just okay. A bit on the watery side. The spicy cold buckwheat noodle dish was too sweet and something about the flavor was unbalanced. Having said this I am no food expert, but I am a Korean food lover. I was born with not a silver spoon in my mouth but kimchi. But it's worth a try. Two or three people can fill their bellies on the small combo meat order for $98. If you don't order booze and extras. Not impressed...tbh. I got there on a Saturday night and the wait was an hour and 15. Put my name and number down and they said they would text once the table was ready. They texted me in about 40 minutes, so...was pleasantly surprised. My lady and I got the small Origin Special, and were underwhelmed. The salad was meh...we never got the steamed egg (according to the menu, the sets get one) the corn cheese was good, potato salad was good, the green onion salad was decent, and we were glad they had the rice paper. The meats were pretty decent, but the guy grilling for us had his head in the clouds so I ended up grilling half the time, which is fine, but he undercooked the prime short rib and we had to toss it back on the grill after cutting it up into smaller pieces so we weren't chewing it for 5 minutes. The place was packed, so I get that he might be all over the place, but to forget our rice 2 times, and our side dish refills...cmon bro. Also, the bathroom was pretty filthy... Overall, I think this spot is overrated and there's better for sure...I probably won't be back. read more
