I went to eat at the Piper's Kilt in Eastchester NY yesterday with my wife and son after a movie. My mistake was ordering something other than a hamburger. My wife ordered a fully loaded burger for $19 and my son ordered a bacon cheeseburger for about $16. Their food came out great and they loved the burgers. Mine a $16 club sandwich was terrible. I ordered a Cub sandwich and a draft beer for about $23. My wife drank water and son had iced tea. I stressed to the waiter I wanted in addition to the regular mayo they put on the club sandwich I wanted a little extra mayo on the side in a cup and I wanted Cole Slaw instead of fries. He said fine no problem. The Club Sandwich that i was served had black burned bacon on it and the turkey seemed to be from a sliced turkey roll and I got fries instead of the coleslaw I asked for. I did not complain but I had to remove the burned bacon from the sandwich because it tasted terrible. There wasn't any mayo on the sandwich as I had asked for but was given to little cups of mayo to put on for myself which I did. The fries were good but when I went to put ketchup on them the bottle was empty so I had flag the waiter after much ado to get another bottle of ketchup. The total bill was $70 including tax so I left $85 in cash which included a $15 tip. If I ever go back, there and I probably will, I will surely have a hamburger and not eat anything else they serve. In on a busy - liked packed to the rafters busy on a Friday night - no reservations accepted here - with a party of eight no less. The crowd was pleasant and congenial as we all settled in for an hour wait at the bar. Drinks are reasonably priced $4 drafts and $6 drafts for premium beers. Appetizers flowed quickly from the kitchen, although I wondered why our buffalo chicken tenders came from three-fingered chickens! All of us ordered some sort of burger, with extra pickles and onion rings flying around. The burgers are big, juicy and delicious, justifying the wait. Fries were crisp, not greasy and flavored perfectly. And the price is right for all of this goodness. Service was prompt and spot on, especially considering the endless waves of customers. One warning - the "cheddar" cheese is NOT real cheddar cheese. Think cheese product. Stick with Swiss or Blue if you want real cheese. read more

I went there on a Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend & her niece a few months ago. We ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer to share. They were cold so I had to ask the waiter (nice young guy) to exchange them. While waiting, a party of 10 or so people in their 20's sat behind us (tables were put together to accommodate them) So here comes the issue. They were all drunk & very loud. Cursing & knocking into the back of the booth we were in. I noticed a few other tables (a couple with younger kids) looking at them and they were obviously upset. I was waiting for the manager to settle them down but no-one from the restaurant approached them other than the waiter to take their orders. Beers & food. Their food came out and here starts the throwing of french fries. I got the waiter to wrap up our food to go and left. On the way out I told an employee that something should have been said to the loud party because they pretty much ruined the dining experience of everyone else. I never had an issue like this before and have been a long-time customer. I haven't been back but I'll go again. I won't dismiss them for one bad experience but I hope they up their game and make sure their customers are respectful of each other. read more

Go "Broadway Style"! That means you want your burger to be larger at 10oz. Pipers has consistently prepared my order to medium rare which is why it's such an awesome burger place. It's a hockey puck sized patty and I switch between the Eastchester (with chili and a couple of onion rings) or the Bronx Bomber (swiss and caramelized onions). The onion rings are hand battered and come with an addictive tangy sauce. It's like a hybrid of honey mustard and Arby's Horsey sauce. Domestic beers are 3 bucks for a 10oz mug and pitchers are 10.50. You may have to wait for a table but service has always been good. When it gets busy you may wait a while for them to churn out burgers but it's worth the wait. read more

What a burger! I find that whatever some other burger is lacking, Piper's Kilt has found some way to perfect it. The patty is so juicy without being greasy and it is always cooked to perfection. The french fries are just important as the burger. They made it just as perfect as their burger. I don't live close to Eastchester but I go across the bridge just to eat here. This place is always packed and the parking lot in the back is tiny but it is worth every nuance of getting here to getting seated. read more

We were seated without a wait. Though the kitchen was backed up and the food took 35 minutes to arrive. 2 clean unisex bathrooms in the back. Here's what we had: -Buffalo Wings $12.95 (Served with celery and blue cheese, with 2 wet wipes, additional buffalo sauce is 25 cents each!): The sauce is NOT traditional buffalo sauce FYI!!! It didn't taste like Frank's red hot sauce to me. I also think they added spices to the sauce. Wings were big and juicy though a bit on the soggy side. Good with the blue cheese dipping sauce. Expect to pay 25 cents extra for buffalo sauce on the side. Don't get this if you're expecting standard buffalo wings. It was still tasty to me but I knew what I was getting myself into. B -Gingerale $3.00 (1 free refill only): Standard gingerale. No one came around to ask if I wanted a refill though... A -Sweet Potato Fries $4.50: Very crispy and good! A -Bleu Cheese Burger $11.95 (Half pound burger with pickles on the side. Served with Fries, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad or small Tossed Salad. Sweet Potato Fries - add $2.75): Big and juicy! French fries were good too. The burger doesn't automatically come with lettuce, tomatoes, and onion. So request it if you want it! A Service was ok until our waitress disappeared halfway through dinner! Couldn't find her to get the check. Another waitress eventually gave us our check. I wish servers would tell customers when they're leaving. This has happened a couple times to me this month already (though not just here)! I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here. If I was already in the area for Broken Bow Brewery, I'd come back for a bacon cheeseburger. read more

Traditional American fare at 10:30 p.m. does not get better than this, especially in an area that has few other choices at that hour. This isn't Queens, NY, it's Eastchester, and expectations should be adjusted accordingly. Food: the burgers here are a good size and if they're not large enough for you, there's an extra large option for $2.50 more. The patty was extremely juicy and I would recommend them. Stay away from things like chicken - stick with their specialty. The beers were on the small side, in my opinion. Service: our server was quite responsive and pleasant. Decor: the restroom is tiny and not really clean. Maybe it was just me, but I couldn't find parking; must have missed the lot. read more

Stop in to this place after my work day around 6:00p on Tuesday night. place was busy and full of people. I have to say my Burger was the one of the best i had in a long time. you could tail right a way they use a great quality of ground beef. and yes most of the menu is Burgers. I think I saw a veg. burger, but I could be wrong, but who eat that stuff anyways...lol. this place is 1/2 bar and 1/2 dinning area, still is a family friendly place. I was here with my 4 year old and my wife, and there was 3 - 4 other dinners with kids.they even had chocolate milk ( not so may places do) so i would say good place to go for lunch or dinner with your family. Now the not so good part will, it's more like why not 5 stars.. 1) very few places i give 5 stars, just because... 2) waitstaff, ok, but seem little edgy ( maybe off day) 3) took little longer then i though it should take for 2 burgers and grill chess. but i wasn't keeping time so... who knows. 4) beers are $6 a glass.. so that's the only thing i could come up with why not 5. you will enjoy this place if you are in need for a great burger, you will be happy read more

Delicious burgers and fries! Attentive service. It's a nice, cozy, place for lunch. There's parking in the back of the pub, although you have to go around the corner to a one-way side street to access. There's ample parking across the street in the municipal parking lot, also. I had the hamburger with sautéed onions. It looked and tasted like a hand formed patty, well -seasoned. There was a mound of carmelized onions on top ( you could specify crispy if desired). Choices of sides included French fries, cole slaw or potato salad. Sweet potato fries or onion rings available for additional cost. I didn't have a chance to check out the alcoholic beverages (had a nice iced tea). I'm sure there is a nice selection of beer and wine. Hope to return again soon. read more

We sat and waited for our two orders of wings as appetizers for over an hour and received nothing but an attitude from our server and rest of staff. Come to realized there was a shift change at 5pm and those girls were attentive. I was so disappointed today, I come here all the time. At first I thought it was just us but our waitress also got another table with a wrong order. Table across from us were furious and got reprimanded by them... Yes, this is the best hamburger in the world. It's not an exaggeration, it's purely a fact. I've had many hamburger options here, and can gladly say the buffalo burger is the best of the bunch, thought you can't go wrong with any option. I recommend you get the Broadway Burger as it makes the burger just a bit bigger and more delicious. The burger is like no other, and is certainly a memorable bite. The overall atmosphere is very inviting. There is plenty of sports memorabilia and it is a true family sit down spot, aswell as a lively bar and great place to watch a sports game. On a holiday Monday we waited 10 minutes for a table, and so dropped $15 on drinks for the wait. When we got a table, we ordered a couple of burgers and then the wait began...the table next to us had a similar wait and so they decided to get their burgers to go. The nearby table left after their appetizers because of the hour-long wait. We nicely spoke to the waitress twice, who said she would speak to the manager. Yet, nothing happened. After over one hour, a round of drinks and threatening to leave we received out food. I've had plenty of burgers in my lifetime, and these are good but NO WAY NEAR worth the hour-plus wait. The least they child do was comp us a couple of drinks (we'd ordered three at the table and two at the bar), but nothing: $53 without blinking an eye!
