Solid food, atmosphere, and excellent service. Salad with the fried tofu was solid- nice salad and tofu was tastier than it can sometimes be. Enjoyed the potato wedge fries as well.

I stopped here to pick up something to go . So of course it was chicken I took the fried was not for me. Servers were quite fresh and pleasant. The place is decorated in a fun way with of course Chickens and nice bright welcoming colors.

Amazing chicken place! I got the flipped chicken sandwich, which is moist rotisserie chicken seasoned well on buttery bread. Served with homemade chips that were delicious! Service was great, and they even have a little happy hour, Monday-Friday $5 beer, $5 onion rings, $7 wine and $7 chicken strips. Although I will say I've never seen a happy hour be that early 3-5pm.

FAVORITE SALAD IN SF I live super close to proposition chicken so I frequently come after exercising for a quick dinner. They are also in inKind which means you can get cashback if you pay through the app. The service here is always great! I recognize the workers and they are super friendly and helpful. My food always comes out fast and fresh. The restaurant has lots of interior seating as well as a few tables outside to sit at. Never had an issue with finding a seat. The space is also always clean. THE SALAD: I usually get the flipped/fried chicken salad. Something about the dressing elevates the salad above your normal chicken Caesar salad. The perfect balance of savoriness with a bit of tanginess. It's my favorite salad in the city and there's a reason why I keep ordering it again and again. PRO TIP: If ordering to go, ask for the salad to be tossed. THE CHICKEN: I've also tried the fried chicken sandwich, chicken strips, and the chicken wings. Everything was delicious. Nothing special, but done really well. If I feel like having a cheat meal, I'll usually order the fried chicken sandwich. EVERYTHING ELSE: their fries are decadent, bone broth is so hearty and flavorful, Brussels sprouts are amazing. Only food I wouldn't order again is the onion rings. The breading was a bit too thick. Felt like 80% breading 20% onion. Proposition chicken is in my regular rotation whenever I need a quick, filling meal. Highly recommend trying!

We were looking for a spot for a quick dinner, our friend suggested we try Proposition Chicken. We've never been to any of their locations, so this would be a new experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interiors felt like a chain, but a little bit better in ambience. Though the lighting was a bit too dim to see what you're eating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can choose from a: sandwich, salad, or entree then pick the type of chicken you'd like: fried, flipped, or fake. OUR PICKS: FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH ~ you get a roll, and cole slaw inside your sandwich and chips on the side. Something about the taste of this chicken didn't taste like it was homemade. It's like you know it's fast food or a chain restaurant. We didn't like all that slaw in the sandwich. You could barely taste the chicken because of it. It covered up the main star which was supposed to be the chicken. Though it gave it some moisture since the chicken was kind of dry. 3/5 FLIPPED SALAD ~ sliced rotisserie chicken in a salad. I asked for dressing on the side. The chicken was quite dry. It's breast meat. Not my favorite part of the chicken. I guess I should have gotten fried chicken instead but I wanted something that wasn't fried. Not a fan of the kale. I think it would have been better to have baby kale. And the romaine lettuce was barely there. 3/5 FRIED CHICKEN ENTREE ~ the fried chicken pieces were small. We got a thigh, breast, and drum. The batter was somewhat crispy but thin. The dark meat chicken was better than white meat. The sage chips were good, but the buttermilk biscuit was extremely dry! You can choke if you don't drink something with it. 3/5 I guess our experience wasn't too good. Most things were edible, just wasn't amazingly good or something we'd crave or come back for.

Decided to come back to try their chicken wings. Unfortunately buffalo wings, nothing special but their fried chicken sandwich (star of the show) made up for it. Also the chips on the side was delicious and of course their potato wedges. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Medium busy on a weekday after work, wish I knew they had a happy hour before 5 pm, I would've wanted to order a drink or more appetizers[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] .

Proposition Chicken is a great place to stop for a casual meal. The food is made fresh and is genuinely delicious. Buffalo Wings (6.5/10): The buffalo sauce has a great tang and spice to it. I just wish the wings were crispier, as they honestly had almost no crisp at all. For a fried chicken spot, I expect more crunch. Fried Chicken Entrée (7.5/10): The fried chicken itself is very good: crispy, juicy, and made up of thick, satisfying pieces. Definitely top-tier fried chicken for the city. The sauce and side salad felt unnecessary and didn't add much to the meal. The biscuit leaned more cake-like since it was extremely sweet and not very buttery. Fried Chicken Sandwich (7/10): This felt like an upgraded version of Burger King's chicken sandwich, meant in the best way. The chicken portion is thick, and the sandwich is very simple, with just slaw. It was messy to eat but still a tasty, straightforward chicken sandwich. Overall, I'd recommend Proposition Chicken to anyone in the area. It's on the pricier side, and I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but if I'm nearby and need to satisfy a fried chicken craving, I'd gladly stop by.

Tried this out as it's near my wife's work, The food is tasty, staff is friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the location is clean and spacious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We recently went back and also tried the fried chicken and breakfast sandwiches and so far everything has been really good. I heard they have another location in west portal so hopefully that's just as good! The Hababero hot sauce is nice, sweet and tangy and not too spicy!

Got this togo and didn't get the chance to eat it until 30 minutes to 1 hour later, so I assume it wasn't at its best. The bread sorta had a stale texture, but I won't blame them for that since I let it sit. The chicken had okay flavor and was accompanied by sauce and coleslaw. The potato wedges were still pretty good

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I stopped by Proposition Chicken on a Tuesday afternoon since I was in the area, and there were many people there enjoying a mid-day meal or snack.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was there for their Happy Hour, and so I tried their chicken strips. My order was ready within 5 minutes. While I got the strips to-go, my order was still perfectly crispy! The chicken was tender on the inside and freshly made. The breading had great texture and seasoning, and it was good with the dipping sauce. $7 for the chicken strip portion was worth it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was casual and gave a modern vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Not Your Average Chicken Spot - Fried, Flipped & Fake Done Right! (3/5) [[HIGHLIGHT]]Proposition Chicken isn't your typical fast-food chicken joint -- it's a cool, fast-casual spot with a creative twist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their whole concept is "chicken three ways": Fried (crispy & classic) Flipped (slow-roasted & juicy) Fake (crispy BBQ tofu for the plant-based crew) You can choose your style -- sandwich, salad, or entrée -- and they even serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which is a nice touch. I went with the fried chicken sandwich, which was decent but not amazing. Then I tried one piece of fried chicken by itself, and that actually hit better -- crispy, seasoned perfectly, and way more flavorful. I'd go that route next time! The onion rings were (super crispy and different from your usual kind), and the house potato chips were a solid win. The bone broth surprised me -- warm, rich, and packed with herbs and real flavor. You can tell they take the time to do it right. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The spot has a modern, quick-service vibe -- clean, upbeat, and pretty busy while we ate, but service stayed efficient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Big bonus: free parking in the back (a rare Bay Area perk) and they serve beer and wine . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tip: They've only got one restroom, and it could use some extra attention. It's a single-toilet setup that doesn't always stay clean during rush hours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A stand urinal would be a smart upgrade -- it'd definitely help keep things tidier and the floor dry. Overall, I'd give 3 solid stars -- not mind-blowing, but worth checking out if you're in Oakland or San Francisco. Something different, with healthier takes on chicken done right.

    Honey Mustard Wings
    Lily Z.

I ordered the Honey Mustard Wings -- 8.5/10. Each wing was evenly coated with sauce and had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The Chicken Tenders were a solid 9/10 -- super crunchy, juicy, and absolutely delightful. I also have to mention the Habanero Sauce, not too spicy, but it had this nice tingling sensation on my tongue that made it addicting. Overall, such a satisfying meal with great flavors and crispy textures. Will definitely be back!

    My Fried Chicken Entre
    Stephanie C.

I love coming here for my late lunch. Service is quick and staff is always helpful. Today having tofu for my meal along with the lemonade. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is clean but there was a table that looked clean but it was hard to see the table was dirty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Found another table to have my lunch.

The rustic/home style decor was very welcoming and it seemed that a lot of the folks knew the cashiers/barista! Some people even stopped by just to say hi and welcome back the barista that was on leave for a bit. I forget his name, but he was a lovely person to chat with! I ordered a Breakfast Burrito with Carne Asada ($12) and an iced latte with Oat Milk ($6). It took ~15-20 for my burrito but the latte came out within five minutes and was made fresh with Portrero Trade Operations coffee beans! While waiting, I ended up buying a bag of coffee beans with flavor notes that were so unique- "cola, tomato, and herbaceous". For $25 you get a whole pound of coffee beans, which most only offer 12oz now. Get a bag while you can! The breakfast burrito was served with one green and one red salsa plus a small bag of chips. The burrito was decently sized and very juicy. I was a bit sad to see that the cheese wasn't melted inside, but the fresh pico de gallo inside totally made up for it. The carne asada had a great bite to it and everything was seasoned well. The salsa verde was absolutely stunning. Not too acidic and just the right amount of spice to go with my burrito. I ordered for takeout, but next time I'm in the area I'm definitely going to consider dining in for the full experience.

My partner and I ended up getting the margarita pitcher deal that came with 50 wings... (Hear me out). We got pretty tipsy off of the pitcher because the bartender put in a lot of tequila. So it's definitely worth it. We ate as much wings as we could, and saved the rest in our own Tupperware. There was a sign at the bar telling patrons that you couldn't take out any leftovers, but when we spoke to the bartender, he told us that Tupperware would be extra charge so we were lucky that we brought our own at that time. Now, the wings: Some of them were pretty dry. I'm assuming the bar would cook them before the happy hour rush and then they would reheat them with the sauces that people ordered. My partner, and I tried the buffalo, lemon pepper, teriyaki, and mango habanero. The mango habanero was spicy and sweet. I think that was our favorite. I was a little disappointed with the lemon pepper because it was really salty. And the other two were pretty mid. The staff was really nice. The vibes were pretty nice. We were early to the happy hour so there wasn't that much people and we also sat outside in the back patio, which was pretty cool. I could definitely see this bar being a very popular spot. I think if you come here with a big group of people and get the margarita pitcher with the 50 wings, it's a pretty good deal splitting it out with your friends. They have other deals as well where you would get a certain number of wings if you ordered a beer or a beer pitcher, etc. We just wanted to get as many wings as possible and get tipsy lol. We've tried Halal Wings Plus a few times before throughout the years and it was always a pretty solid choice. The neighborhood is a bit shady, so beware of your surroundings and watch where you're stepping, cuz you don't wanna be stepping on sh** or b@rf! The menu is above the cashier, so you just order and pay up front and get the receipt with your order number. They'll call the number out when it's ready. I think there's roughly 8-10 tables, if you decide to dine in. ***OUR PICKS*** We ordered 20 wings with 2 flavors. LEMON PEPPER CHICKEN WINGS ~ lots of pepper flavor but the lemon did not shine. And the chicken meat inside didn't seem marinated and tasted bland. It probably would be better if they added lemon juice after it was cooked or had given us some lemons to squeeze over the chicken before we dug in. 3.5/5 MANGO HABANERO CHICKEN WINGS ~ the sauce was spicy and tangy sweet, but it doesn't seem like they marinate their wings. It's only the sauce that gives the chicken flavor. 3.5/5 The wings aren't at all crispy. And flavor was ok and could have been better. But what was off-putting was the smell of the wings after we boxed it up and took it home! It had this gamey chicken smell as if it was old chicken. At least none of us got sick, but I'll think twice about revisiting.

so first off before I get into it, there's no seating (see picture for reference), and it's on the…read morecorner. there is a lil bodega across the way which is where we got some lemonades to wash everything down, and you order either online, by phone, or to the cashier (what we did). It took maybe 20 mins, which was perfect. now, it's show time. holy hell. my boyfriend RAVES about this place all the time, and we finally went as a pre-AYCE snack. it took all my strength to not change my mind to eat here instead. when I think of chicken wings, I think of 3 flavors on the spot: buffalo, lemon pepper, and garlic parm. never, in my big back days, did I think to combine buffalo with garlic-parm (in this case, garlic bacon parm). I couldn't even wrap my head around it before I ate it and while I was eating it. I have to confess that I don't even like buffalo, the tang and that feeling in the back of your mouth that makes you want to drink a full glass of water after? I always hated it. don't get me started on the color/the way it stains EVERYTHING. BUT THIS RIGHT HERE? screw my white shirt, I'll use it as a napkin for these wings. Serg idk who you are but you're my new hero. Plus the spice level? not crazy hot, maybe like hot cheetos level (the regular hot cheetos, but also the flavor is too good to care about the spice) Their ranch is also hella good, and I don't like ranch like that. This place is making me redact all my statements about foods I DON'T like. If that doesn't tell you enough, idk what will. we will 100000% be back for more than just a 5 piece. I might even wear a white shirt next time.

I found the chicken to have a little bit of that moistened, soggy texture from the packaging but that's to be expected from a takeout spot. We had the traditional buffalo wings with lemon pepper boneless wings and were surprised that the boneless wings were better! They don't look like much, but they were so moist and tender it was delicious paired with the lemon pepper seasoning. The buffalo wings were good! Nothing to write home about. Rounded our meal out with an order of wedge fries which were great for those who like soft thick fries. Overall very good!

Definitely felt like the staff is well known in this neighborhood and has a lot of regular customers. Great to see. The menu is awesome. Very cool and caught me by surprise as I grew up as a wrestling fan. It felt nostalgic and made it fun to choose a drink. It seemed like a seasonal or rotating menu since I heard the bartender say this was our new menu. The Andre the Giant drink was the best of the three we ordered (Roddy Rowdy Piper and Rey Mysterio). The charred cabbage was great. Never thought I would order a cabbage dish, but the description made it appetizing. They also played great classic hip hop music.

Bathrooms - downstairs, there are signs but can be confusing. Multiple stalls for both the restrooms split- men/non binary and women/non binary- love that. Drinks were super fun and creative- especially the menu!! I really liked the HHH with the ice cream top! Rowdy Roddy Piper was super tasty too- kind of reminded me of a dirty tea with the dirty being the alcohol! Heh Food was good too- I loved the fries. Perfectly crispy and those edges mmHMM. The trick nuggets were also done so well- super moist and I liked Their dipping sauces!
