This is my husband's and my favorite restaurant in the beach area, for breakfast and lunch. And we live here, so come here quite often and have never had anything less than perfect. Absolutely fabulous staff, friendly and welcoming. And terrific food--the best blueberry pancakes ever, and homemade vegetable soup as good as grandma made. Not to mention the homefries, omelets, etc. It has a very comfortable, home-town vibe, and you can sit and enjoy your coffee or even have a breakfast cocktail at your leisure. We wanted a down to earth, hearty breakfast and this place had it. Great service - attentive but not fawning, friendly, polite. Prices were reasonable, and great selection with lots of sides. They offered me rye toast instead of wheat, and it was a real treat. My son and I both got eggs with scrapple, and the eggs were just right for both of us, and the scrapple thin and crispy. I ordered the combo special for $7.95, 2 eggs, 2 French toast, creamed chipped beef over toast and home fries. While we were eating, the manager/owner advised the prices on their website were incorrect and he would be charging us over 30% over their website listed prices. That's false advertising!! We went there specifically for the breakfast combo deals on their website. Never again will I fall for this scam! read more

Oh my God, where to start. We should have turned around and walked out the moment we set food in this place. It has literally not changed in the 20 years since I've been there. . . and NOT in the charming "old timey" way. The air was thick with the smell of way-past oil and as soon as we were sat, we noticed finger smudges on EVERYTHING and as we settled in noticed every surface of everything we touched was sticky. The pictures on the walls haven't been cleaned in years and there was dust everywhere. We kept it simple with eggs, bacon, and hash browns. The coffee was burnt, eggs were overcooked, hashbrowns undercooked, and the bacon was really the only semi-enjoyable item even though that went unfinished. Who doesn't at least eat all of their bacon for goodness sake?!? We got the bill as fast as we could and and on the ride out of town my husband could still smell the sour oil in my hair as I could in his beard. It was so bad we switched our plans of shopping to go home and immediately shower. I am baffled how this place has stayed open so long! Holy cow, what a gross nightmare. Look, I'm appreciate of all the restaurants staying open during these crazy times, yet there is no way this place is taking proper cleaning measures as they should be. Sure they are seating tables with space between the customers, there is absolutely NO way they are wiping anything down between visitors. . . if at all. Never again. read more

This is a simple, little breakfast diner. The service is quickly and friendly. There are waitresses always making rounds with coffee pots to keep patrons' mugs full. The food is on par with IHOP and other average breakfast diners. I shared the hot cakes with scrapple. If you're a fan of breakfast sausage, then I would recommend scrapple to you; it just wasn't for me. There were people waiting in front of us and we told the man (owner?) that there were other people and he said "We are focusing on you right now." When we got sat down we didn't have menus for 5 minutes and no food for 45. Our waitress was very good and the food was correct, although the fries weren't salted. Definitely overpriced. I saw 2 girls sit down, and then the owner came over and asked them to move. They moved and never got a waitress so they ended up leaving. You can't go wrong here for breakfast. We are very partial to (as in LOVE) the pancakes! These light and fluffy pancakes almost don't need syrup bc they're so flavorful. Of course we need to start with coffee and the fresh-squeezed orange juice, before we move on to eggs. I got fried eggs over easy and they were perfectly cooked. My husband's omelet was tasty and generous on the fillings. The shredded hash browns that come with the eggs are tender and well seasoned. And then we had the pancakes as our dessert - so wonderful! Also the wait staff is always very friendly and efficient. This is definitely a must stop for when we visit Rehoboth. read more

There's no frittatas with creme fraiche or quail eggs benedict with white truffle Hollandaise (though they do have a standard EB on the menu)....sorry folks. That's just fine with me. It's a dated place...about a step up from a hole in the wall. But it is always busy for breakfast...usually with a wait for a table. Hundreds of people can't be wrong right? So I tried it and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the 3 egg platter w/ scrapple. Now, I will spare the description of what scrapple is but let's just say if you like scrapple....order it! If not, or you've never tried it, please don't. It's traditional to say the least...haha. The food came out hot...eggs fluffy, toast buttered, and good portion. Honestly, what more can you ask for? Service was a little slow but it was very busy....took me 10 min for a water....but the coffee came out the moment I sat down. 4 stars is the best I can give because of the dated and old dining room that butts up against a kitchen and the slow service. If Yelp allowed half stars, I'd bump this to 3.5. We went here for dinner just at the end of summer season, with 2 kids who were both hungry and cranky. Going in around 6pm to find the place TOTALLY EMPTY! So we got our pick of seat and wait staff was very helpful in accomodating getting us setup. More people came in as we were there, but could see this is a very low key place that people might pass by easily. With the namesake being a man who robbed from the rich to help the poor, it's no surprise the food prices here were very modest. Several options under 10 dollars! My son got a cheeseburger kids meal, which ended up being just a little less than an adult meal, but I think we had to pay extra for cheese and for fries. Food was okay, not gourmet, 5-star stuff, but everything tasted good. My wife commented that she didn't like how their salad tasted, but otherwise liked her dinner. Service was a bit slow at the end, but they also got a lot of tables in very quick succession, so that could explain it. Owner was very personable and came to talk to us for a few minutes. Bottom line: Great little diner for eating on a budget, but due to "little diner" atmosphere, might expect slower service and food that's just okay. But still a great off the path option if you want to avoid the super crowded spots. read more

My three teenage friends and I stopped at Robin Hood for a nice breakfast to start the day. We were kindly seated then were greeted by our server Anca. She was beyond wonderful and made our meal great. She was lovely to talk to and was genuine in conversation and service. We were so impressed with her service especially considering the fact that she was pregnant. She was enthusiastic and checked on us several times through your meal. Of the sit-down breakfast options in downtown Rehoboth, Robin Hood is probably the second best (my favorite being Sammy's Kitchen). However, when Sammy's is crowded, as it was this past Labor Day weekend, I simply walk over to the ocean block of Rehoboth Ave to this hole-in-the-wall diner. The price range is cheap and on par with the breakfast competition ($9.50 for a ham+cheese omelet that comes with hash browns and toast). Service is adequate, and the place is decently clean in spite of its appearance from the outside (there has been a dead fly stuck between the menu and glass of the front window for quite some time now...). Robin Hood's biggest benefit is that it serves mimosas ($4.95), something lacking from a majority of the other breakfast options in town (I promise I'm not an alcoholic). read more
