I come here on occasion. Its close to the Balboa theatre and is the latest open coffee house in the Richmond district. It's quiet has free wifi if you need it and good Hot coffee and sandwiches. Cakes and muffins and more. Very laidback with a few outside tables . Occasionally I can't seem to get the schedule they have live music which is nice especially for this end of town not much. It's very comfortable with an odd kinda way .

    turkey sandwich on sourdough

love getting a chai with espresso and with a bit of simple syrup as it is fairly spicey really liked their turkey sandwich, super flavorful and fulfilling (it had the hard stem of a pepper in it lol but that doesn't feel like it warranted taking off a whole star) very cute ambiance, plentiful seating, and service has been consistently pleasant and fast

Came here with a friend because we needed a place to sit and talk. This was the only place nearby that opened late in our neighborhood with refreshments and desserts. The cafe has a quaint, warm, cozy ambiance. Order at the counter. Street parking.

4 out of 5 stars Simple Pleasures Café is my go-to for a cold beer and calm vibes--until tonight, when a toddler went full Aladdin's Genie meets Jurassic Park. Screaming, flailing--this kid had range, baby. Still, nothing beats sipping a brew with good people under the city sky. Even with a tiny tornado in the background, this place keeps its charm. Next time I'm bringing earplugs and a juice box--just in case.

An Outer Richmond gem, Simple Pleasures has been a mainstay since 1978, offering coffee, sandwiches, bagels and pastries. We ordered drinks and a sun-dried tomato pesto cream cheese bagel, which was delicious! Prices are very affordable and there are many regulars in the crowd of customers! It's a small bustling warm and friendly spot worth stopping by if you're in the hood.

Arsicault Bakery - Richmond District, San Francisco (94118)…read more This small, charming bakery is absolutely worth the visit! Yes, there's almost always a line, but don't let that discourage you--the staff keeps it moving quickly, making the wait fast and efficient. The pastries are incredibly delicious. Their giant croissants are buttery, with soft, airy layers on the inside and a perfectly crispy, flaky exterior. Every bite is heavenly! My personal favorite is the cranberry scone. It's tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For the best experience, enjoy your pastries while they're still warm--they taste even better fresh out of the oven. Payment is easy since they accept both credit cards and cash. If you're a pastry lover, Arsicault Bakery is definitely a must-visit in San Francisco. We highly recommend it!

I came by on a Friday around 11 am and it was so hard to find parking. There's street parking available but it was all filled up and I ended up getting dropped off since I saw the line forming outside the bakery. The line was only formed because the bakery is relatively small and doesn't have a lot of wiggle room so they only let in one party at a time. There aren't any sit-down tables or chairs so this is a grab and enjoy somewhere else. Pastry: Kouign-amann (8.4/10): Oh this was yummy. I love a good kouign amann and Arsicault satisfied my sweet tooth. It was a little too sweet but had a good outer layer crunch and fluffy interior. Chocolate Almond Croissant (7.8/10): This one was amazing! I will say that this one is definitely on the sweeter side but it was still delicious. It's a pretty big croissant with a good crunch but not a lot of flaking :( I did really enjoy the almond paste that was smothered on the inside. My boyfriend really enjoyed this croissant and wouldn't stop talking about it for a few hours.

Wow, this was such an amazing spot. Stopped by for a day in San Francisco before going to Europe…read more Heard all the hype about this spot so I had to drop by. We waited about an hour on a Friday morning. On to the baked goods, it was some of the best bakery goods I've tried ever. Everything was delicious in every way. My favorite had to be the coffee cake, the elote corn, and the Lorraine. Wow, so damn good. I know their menu changes, but it's a must try as their base dough for all their items are PERFECT. Each bite is amazing with such a crunch. Their corn latte was also super delicious.

The namesake Pistachio Cardamom croissant was excellent for a filled croissant. It had excellent layers and the cream was just enough to add a lusciousness to each bite that wasn't too heavy. The madame lorraine was my other favorite. It was meaty and rich with the soft baked runny yolk and the light touch of rosemary was just enough to accentuate the bite. The not as good...a standard butter croissant. Maybe we got a dud but there was a serious lack of layers in ours and it wasn't as crisp or as buttery as I like. The elote corn croquiche filling was also quite salty which was a shame because the pastry layer was pretty good. I still have two more pastries to try but given the weight and the mixed bag, I definitely expected a lot more from Butter & Crumble.

The fruit tart was beautiful and incredibly fresh, with perfectly ripe fruit and a light, creamy filling that wasn't too sweet. I've always wanted to try this place since I see a line every time I walked by. There's a lot of foot and car traffic. It's definitely a busy area so expect to park in one of the nearby residential areas or be extremely and walk/bike/bus here! Upon stepping into the tiny shop, I was enveloped in the sweet smell of chocolate chip cookies. It was tempting to put that in my bag, but I stuck with my game plan. They do self serve for all the baked goods and drinks except the pizza and focaccia. You tell the cashier what you grabbed. There's self serve complimentary water on the side too. Got a pecan swirl, one of each square focaccia flavors, and a half pizza (hot). The pizza flavor of the day was triple mushroom with sesame ginger garlic vinaigrette and mozzarella. It was 10/10 delicious!! Do note that they don't heat up the focaccia. Personally, after tasting everything, I'd say the pizza is more worth it than the focaccia "pizzas". The pecan roll was quite addicting too. You can also skip the line if you want to order online on their website and schedule a pick up time, but my gift card didn't work so I just waited in line.
