I was so impressed with how they handled a situation and I decided my husband and I would go more often. The service is always good, the food is ok for its price, but I have to say their steak is probably the worst among all inexpensive restaurants, even the budget priced Norms has better steaks. I had a hard time believing how bad it is, I tried 4 times, tonight was the last time I had their steak. I go there more than half a dozen times because one of my friend likes to meet there for dinner every once in a while. I finally spoke to them about the steak, they admit they had changed a few meat suppliers in the past few years, none was good enough, and they heard customers complains more than a few times. As far as Sizzler trademark goes this one is better than most. This is one of the best salad bars ever. Tacos, Mac & Cheese, Spagetti, etc. Really , really worth going the extra mins. For this place. As with any Sizzler, sometimes your steak just isn't cooked the way you want it or the quality you expect. Nevertheless, it is a sort of guilty pleasure. The place is clean, the staff is generally good, the food is generally fresh, tasty & well-prepared. The salad bar has a surprisingly wide range of choices, a bit more than at other Sizzler locations I have visited. I work in visitor services & oversee food servers, among others, so I'm hyper-sensitive to things like cleanliness -- so this is high praise from me. One time you go, you will get awesome service & the next time, the service will be just so-so, so you need to be responsible for yourself in some ways. Want A-1 instead of the Sizzler steak sauce? Then you need to ask because no one will offer. Etc. I'll definitely be going back, though. read more

Worst service ever!!! Took 20 min to pick up the paper from our table. Then close to 40 min to bring cheese bread, which had hair on it. When we kept trying to wave down the waiter he never came. Had to get up and tell them, then when they finally sent someone with fresh bread they brought 1 slice for my boyfriend and I which looked to be the same mashed bread that was under the one with hair that I had just take up to the window. Our food was cold once we got it and after almost an hour the waiter never came back. I'm never coming back to sizzler. It had been a while since we had come to eat here but after this it has made it clear I won't ever be coming to eat here. Bad service, cold food, and there was hair on it. read more

PLACE : SIZZLER 5801 Sepulveda blvd , Culver city DATE: Saturday 2/23/13 TIME: 5:00 PM The worst (almost ) dinner experience (we left before dinner...) , i ever had. I took my disabled friend who reside not far from Sizzler at Palm Court Nursing Home, Culver City, to an early dinner, so she want be alone on the eve of the Jewish holiday Purim. I ordered for her the" steak and shrimp dinner, with one trip to the Salad bar". For me I ordered glass of wine, since I had dinner plan later, (it was only 5:00PM). I got my wine in no time, and my friend waited to get a plate for the salad bar. After about 10min,she asked the waiter about the salad bar, and he replied that there is no salad bar with the order. (what!!! I ordered from the menu over the cashier- where it is specifically written one trip to the salad bar, I have picture to prove it). When i told him to check the menu, he brought the Manager -Darryl Benton. The rudest manager I ever encountered. I told Mr. Manager D. Benton what we had told the waiter, he said that he will bring a plate but my friend can only take it from... here... and not from there... touch this... and not that... soooo many qualifiers, that my friend who is disabled and only wanted some lettuce, wanted to leave. I still wanted her to have a nice dinner for the holiday and I wanted to enjoy a glass of red wine, with her, while she is having dinner. So I took her plate to the salad bar ( again my friend is disabled, in nursing home), to put some green on her plate, and noticed the waiter and the manager watching me like a hawks ...I believe so i want put anything not allowed on the plate...(i did not know that one trip to the salad bar has so many restrictions). At this point I told the manager that we no longer wanted to eat there, and i want my money back. Mr. Manager D. Benton, did not even tried to be nice about the situation or apologies for his offensive behavior, instead he said , i will give you the money back but you pay for the wine. I did have few zips of the wine while waiting for the food to arrive, however I saved most of it to enjoy while my friend is having dinner . Mr. Manager D. Benton , gave me the credit slip with a charge on the wine, i refused to sign it. We had an early dinner on Sunday, and everything was great! I was surprised to see how low the ratings were for this restaurant! The prices were so reasonable, food was descent, and service was good. I really enjoyed their fresh guacamole, chips and carnitas tacos from the salad bar. I only had the salad bar, but they had fried chicken wings, tacos, Mac n cheese, ice cream and some more dessert. It was only $12 or so. They have special price for senior and kids. The place was very crowded. It might not be the top quality of food, but it really is worth the price! Its been years since ive been to a sizzlers, and so much has changed. I came here yesterday for valentines around 3:30 in the afternoon for my dads bday. Knowing that it was valentines day we knew it was going to be packed. It was a long line to get to the register. And looking at the menu, yes it has grown but the prices were redic. Salad bar was $11.99!!! I was shocked, even their special menu for vday was so expensive. A total of $50 for me and my husband. The special menu included a 6oz steak with lobster tail, and your choice of either vegetables, fries, or baked potatoe. I asked for my steak for medium well and it was a little more well done than I wanted it but the steak was amazing. Lobster tail was OK, pretty small, paired of with unseasoned mussy vegetables. The salad bar was far impressive. I remember coming to sizzlers just wanting the salad bar cause it was more than enough. They had these fried little chicken wing vs actual fried chicken back in the days, they had spaghetti with the most nasties sauce. Mac n cheese was very water down. Desert was redic small and Omg the ice cream was not ice cream. Yuck!!! The soups were the only thing I liked. At the end we left like whatever not leaving a tip. We spent so much money for horrible food, and service was just not there. Will definitely not come back to a sizzlers unless we were forced to come back. Happy eating read more

I am shocked at how good the food was. I stopped going to Sizzler years ago. My parents would take us there to get us full at the salad bar on the cheap. My lady ordered a steak and all you can eat shrimp. She up graded the steak to a 12 oz. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. I ordered an a bacon cheeseburger and added salad bar. The meat on the burger was phenomenal and again cooked perfectly. Effing SHOCKING!!! I ate way too much. The only grip I had was the dessert bar. That was extremely lack luster hence the 4 instead of a 5 star rating. The food at the salad bar was fresh and they kept it very clean and well stocked. My favorite are those fried chicken wings, a lil salty but still delicious. read more

A friend of mine swears this is one of the best Sizzlers, based on its clean salad bar. So we finally tried it. My friend was right -- the salad bar was indeed clean, and well-stocked with cold, crisp veggies and tasty dressings. But nothing else was that great. My BF ordered the fried shrimp, but they obviously came frozen out of a box. Ugh. I'm pretty sure that the garlic toast did, too. Also, the soups (chicken tortilla, albondigas) were lukewarm and tasted off. And to top it off, the waitress was inattentive, leaving us alone for 20 minutes at a time. My girls love Sizzler and we come here every so often. I like the salad bar because you can go back as many times as you want and dessert is included. My grandparents invited me out to dinner at Sizzler to celebrate my upcoming birthday. With hesitation I agreed knowing that they wanted to treat me and Sizzler had a price-point that they could stomach. Unfortunately I regret that decision because when it comes to Sizzlers (this location in particular) the bottom-of-the-barrel pricing is a red flag for bottom-of-the-barrel quality and service. The food, it was lackluster. The "all you can eat" buffet was a miserable looking collection of random treats including over-cooked spaghetti, salty soups, and dried-up chicken legs. I was happy "not to eat" anything that was offered. I was thrilled when my food arrived because I was starving. The $12 shrimp skewers had a forgetful taste and were far from filling and then I moved on to the strange baked potato that came with the meal. Admittedly it had been sometime since I had a baked potato so I was not concerned that the fluffy insides were not ivory white like I expected. Well I should have been because it was obviously spoiled. After a few sour bites of the poisioned tatter I realized it was spoiled but decided not to make a scene. But in reality the idea that the cook would serve someone a brown/spoiled potato is appalling. He or she obviously should have seen it before he tried covering it up with sour cream and butter. This Sizzler has the appeal of your worst high school cafeteria experience. Even more shocking is that Sizzler is headquartered in Culver City! If this is the flagship model of a Sizzler then we have real problems. This place is a dump and my brief encounter with the brown potato had me hugging the toilet all night long. read more

Its a sizzler what more can u say? well that this place is among the nicer ones I have eaten at. Its right under the 90 freeway and next to the renovated Fox Hills Mall. I haven't been to Sizzlers in a long time but this was a nice place. Id probably come here again. the food was OK. And if you come on a Sunday they have a chef outside in the customer area were they will cook an omelet on the spot for you with your choice of toppings. read more

Came here and met with a few people for dinner. I have been to many Sizzler's and it is one of my FAVORITE restaurants, just not this particular one! I ordered the half rack bbq ribs which also came with endless salad bar. The ribs made me wanna PUKE. It had a distinct nasty odor, as if it were old. So, I asked for the manager (Darell or Darnell...whatever) and told him the situation. I asked to exchange for steak instead ( I've had steak many times at Sizzler) ! It took so long for the steak to come ( roughly 30 mins), while everyone else was done eating and I was only indulging on the salad bar, I was already full. I told our waiter that I would like to cancel the steak because we are done eating and getting ready to leave now. He tried to , but said Darnell says "NO". And so my steak came and it was FLAVORLESS as can be, DRY with absolutely NO FLAVOR. There must be something wrong with the COOKS here. Food doesn't taste the same as any other Sizzler I've been to. * we literally had to ask for refills * had to ask for cheese bread, or else our server wouldn't care to bring them out *server didn't look happy to help us-- and it showed I can just say that I only enjoyed the salad bar here. Everyone else that was with me didn't care for this particular Sizzler either. We all agreed that we've had better from their different locations. Craving Sizzler......? Never been to a sizzler before, it was a pleasant experience. Guy was out waiter when we were seated and he was great. Guy would check in with us and make sure we were happy while waiting for food or going to the salad bar. This sizzler the as pretty cool but like I said I have never been to sizzler before. This review goes back a couple of years. I left my review accidentally for another Sepluveda location I never have visited further South (thinking it was this location). I gave this location 4 stars because of the great friendly professional service by our waitress Stefanie. Not sure if she is there anymore. She deserves most of the stars and to get a raise or be manager of this location! Anyways, I hope this location is the same as I remember it being a few years back. My family and I visited this location I'd say about 6-7 times and usually were more happy than the locations in the San Fernando Valley. The one on Van Nuys Blvd. is just as good as this one is. Or was when we went there in the past. Sizzler is not what it use to be years ago but it is still hanging in there mostly because of the salad bar variety. Lets face it, the steaks at Sizzlers are bellow mediocre usually and over priced for what you get. This is why they added the steaks with chicken and other options on the plate. I keep it simple and get the Steak and Malibu. If I'm super hungry I also get the salad bar. Anyways, this is a nice location and it's clean. Upon my last visit my steak was dry and mostly 85% fat. I told our waitress Stefanie and she immediately got me one of the best steaks I ever had at Sizzler in a long time. Plus she showed the cook what I was served. Now that is a great worker! The manager was nowhere to be found even if I wanted to talk to him or her. STEFANIE SHOULD BE MANAGER at this location.She is a nice lady and on the ball when it comes to professional food service. Overall Stefanie made this a very pleasurable dinner for me and my family. We come out to go to Venice beach and are from the San Fernando Valley so we go a bit out of our way to go just to this Sizzler location. The Van Nuys location is ok and better than the Reseda location in the Valley. This one in Torrance is the best Sizzler. Will be back. Sizzler needs to lower their prices though and or offer up better steaks. Wish they had the Steak and Langostino lobster they use to have years ago. I loved that. read more
