The coffee at SPRO is absolutely stellar. They care about crafting with intentionality and deep thought in every cup and it reflects on the flavor expressions they're able to extract with each brew. I've been to their Mission Dolores location - the well lit, bright interior makes for an excellent spot to do some work or as a hangout spot to catch up with friends. The baristas are very friendly and willing to chat coffee with you if you want to learn more/are curious about your brew. I've tried both their espresso based drinks and pourovers and truly believe you can't lose by ordering either! They have multiple locations throughout SF and I can't wait to visit some more locations the next time I'm in the Bay. read more

I've heard so many great things about this place and had to give it a try myself. I wanted to just get a normal coffee, but their drink menu looked too good to not get a matcha drink. I'm usually picky on my matcha drinks and don't believe a lot of places can do it right. I saw the barista whisking the matcha and I was like okay I'm sold. He's doing it right. This drink was so smooth and not powdery! I loved how it was the perfect amount of sweetness. My friend got a different matcha drink and we were both so surprised with how great it tasted. I ordered the Tokyo Rose which was comprised of Ceremonial Match, Rose Petal Syrup, and Milk. When I tell you that I wish I ordered a 16oz, I wish I did because it was that good (I ordered 12oz)! Usually some coffee shops make their matcha sweet or taste grainy but I love how theirs only had a hint of sweetness and was pretty smooth! I definitely would order this drink again! With the ambiance of the shop, I liked how their music was very chill and laid back. Great place to just focus and do your work. Staff were also friendly and informed about the drinks. This place is great. Good for coffee and getting your work done with free wifi and chargers. They only have a few tables here. The staff is very friendly based on my interaction with them. I'd come here for the Japanese toilets. Bidet was it? The restroom feels like a spa with the lit-up candle that smells amazing. I had a hard time figuring out how to flush the toilet because of all the buttons and high-tech stuff. Probably the only downside. It was my dog's 11th birthday this past weekend, so we decided to treat him to a special meal. After discovering SPRO coffee lab had a doggie menu, we thought it'd the perfect spot. The birthday boy had an omnivore meal and his brother enjoyed the herbivore one. Both finished it in 20 seconds, so I imagine they enjoyed it! As for their typical menu, all the drinks that we got were very unique and tasted delicious. My favorites were the Geisha (ceremonial matcha with wildflower milk) and Fifty Shades (fancier Earl Grey black tea). Our friends got the Breakfast Sandwich and the Havana, which they both enjoyed. We tried the Mash Up toast and I loved the potato purée with truffle salt and the sous vide egg. To top of all off, the brown butter dark chocolate chip cookie was the perfect crispy on the outside and chewy / gooey on the inside. This place is definitely a bit pricey, but the drinks and food are unique and well executed. As a bonus, the bathroom is pretty amazing here...I normally don't rave over these things but the toilet will automatically open and close as you walk in/out of the bathroom. The once food truck of SPARK Social had found a corner location next to Everett Middle School (I had been chosen to go to that ever since). Plenty of fancy beverages to choose from the wooden colored menu. Let's see... I did first chose Indian Summer, one made of rose water sy-... actually, that special drink must have SPRO style (shot of espresso). I'll think about the Indian Summer before I ask for better alternatives. So I decided to order Geisha, made with ceremonial grade green tea powder infused with oat milk and some perfectly shaped ice cubes! There's nothing to describe how good this drink was; believe me, it doesn't get any better than the best choice I make in my drink. I'll probably might come back the next day to savor some snacks. Okay, this is my new favorite spot. I had the pleasure of visiting SPRO and I must say, it's a gem. I love the vast menu options for not only their spectacularly unique drinks, but also a wide variety of delicious food. It's a great place whether you just want to grab a drink or do a whole brunch with a friend. The only downside is that seating is super difficult, sadly, because it's a very small space with few seat options and a lot of people. However, when it's sunny, you can sit outside, which offers a few more options. I ordered one of the three matchas, and it was excellent. The flavors were all there. My friend ordered the barista's recommendation, a mocha-based coffee that was listed first on their menu. Ugh, it was so good I wish I got it haha. For food, I got an EXCELLENT toast with burratta, tomatoes, and truffle. The bread they used was so good, second only to The Mill. My friend ordered their special banh mi that was generously stuffed with ingredients! So good. The baristas were all super nice and helpful as well, even when it was a small staff on a busy day. Overall, SPRO is definitely worth a visit. Their unique drink options and delicious food make it a great spot for any occasion, but just be aware that seating can be a bit of a challenge. If you love Spro from Spark Social, you'll love their new Mission Dolores Park location! Spro, which I just found out was short for espresso (duh!), is a great little cafe on the corner of Church St and 17th that serves both beverages and food items. Perfect for a breakfast, brunch, or a pick me up. I came on their grand opening day which was a Saturday approx 8am. The service was very friendly and my order came out pretty quick. If you order different items they might come out at different times (eg I got my drink first, then my pastry, then my toast) so you might need to wait a bit before settling into your seat. It wasn't very busy when I got there but around 8:30am it was getting more packed. There are a couple of seats indoor and a few tables outside if you plan to eat there. The environment was a very clean and sleek look with a bright red and white theme. Their menu consists of coffee and tea drinks, breakfast/brunch items, and baked goods. My order that day was the Umami Bomb Toast, Tokyo Rose, and Blueberry Banana Muffin. The toast was a super thick bread that was slighlty crunchy on the outside and softy on the inside. There were huge chunks of avocado on top with tasty/ salty (salty in a good way) bits of flavoring from their seasoning and salmon roe. The Tokyo Rose is a matcha rose drink that was smooth/creamy, not too sweet, and had a nice light rose flavor after each sip. The rose flavor was present enough to taste but not too strong where the drink tasted like perfume. Lastly, their Blueberry Banana Muffin was very tasty and the staff are nice enough to offer to warm it up for you. SPRO located off of Dolores has a really chill vibe to it. They feature a list of non- alcoholic coffee cocktails all of which are extremely interesting. I went for the classic flat white and the texture was rich and creamy and their dark roast was deliciously bitter. I have had the uniquely delicious snacks and drinks from Spro's truck in Mission Bay SF and was excited to learn of their new brick and mortar location in Mission Dolores/Castro area. Spro's drinks are exotic, innovative, and delicious. The espresso is potent! One of the owners explained to me that they use light roast beans versus dark roast beans which not only provides a more robustly enhanced flavor, but it also contains more caffeine. As for the snacks, you must try their Umami Bomb Avocado Toast, which has savory ikura (salmon roe), Japanese spices and seasoning, and gorgeous microgreens and edible flowers to add an elegant touch. Spro sous vides many of their ingredients for unmatched textures and bursts of flavor. They have such unique drinks on their menu (try the Pixie Dust!), plenty of space to read a book or work on your computer, and a laid back vibe that is very inviting to all. In terms of service, their baristas are super friendly and don't give off the "I am too cool" vibe that some coffee shops have. Sunny coffee shop with tasty and unique breakfast/brunch dishes. We went here for a brunch on Friday morning and it was surprisingly crowded. Luckily, after waiting for 5min we got a table for two people inside. I took a Latte on Oat Milk and an Umami Bomb Toast. My friend took Matcha on Almond milk and Japanese blueberry mocha waffles. The drinks were good and the price is average for this district. The waffles were a bit crunchy on the edges and soft inside. They were not too filling, but it is a nice semi-sweet desert. The Umami Bomb Toast was really good! The avocado was spell and they did not skim on the amount. I could feel the seasoning and the salmon eggs were a nice detail that added interesting flavor to the dish. The interior of the coffee shop is clean but attractive - white walls, big windows (lots of sun!) and red chairs. Works as a nice photo shoot location as well. Thank you for a nice brunch. This location features a large selection of sandwiches, a few breakfast items, and a few pastries. I tried a turkey sandwich and a Mardi Gras drink. The sandwich was large and had a good mix of meat and vegetables. It was a bit dry and could of used a little more mayo or dressing. But I figured I should be healthy so I didn't ask for more. I wish the sandwich came with a little salad or pickle, or have the option for $1 more, but the sandwich alone was filling. The cold brew drink was tasty! They specialize in creative coffee and tea drinks that you can't find elsewhere. Instead of just adding a syrup, they use other items like reductions, herbs, sparkling water, and natural ingredients. I'd highly recommend trying one of their specialty drinks! I really enjoyed the cold brew. It's hard to find a good, strong cold brew, and they nailed it. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to offer suggestions. You don't see this type of service in most places. My only wish is that they had more seating.
