This has got to be one of my favorite spots in LA. Their matcha and hojicha stands above the rest that I have tried in LA and OC. The flavors in each cup were well developed and tasted high quality! A matcha stop was necessary during our mini vacation in LA. We arrived at about 9am on Monday and there was no wait at all. The interior appeared to be modern and clean, with ample seating. Double Matcha | Requested this latte with almond milk and zero sweetness. The matcha was distinctive because it was slightly stronger compared to other cafes. The matcha cream topping was smooth with a subtle sweetness. A larger cup would be nice! Menu: The cafe's main menu includes matcha and coffee, with some pastries showcased in the display case. Service: Orders came out quick. Staff was very familiar with the menu. Parking: Free, but limited in the parking lot. DOOOOONT come for me but I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped. I ordered the double matcha + coconut matcha and both were just too sweet for me. It had a certain kind of sweetness that I usually get from using stevias. In comparison to Rok or Damo, I'd put stagger in third place. Overall, it wasn't bad! If you're new to matcha and want to try something, this is a good spot! I just prefer other spots in comparison to it. I also prefer the coconut matcha over the double :) read more

Definitely worth the hype! The double matcha latte was super potent and the perfect amount of sweetness but the double hojicha latte was the real star! It was absolutely delicious with the hojicha cream top which I've never seen at a cafe before. Parking is decent for Ktown standards and there was no wait when I went around 10:30AM. I walked over because I was at a temple nearby but it seems like the parking lot can get filled. There was a line but it went by fast and I waited about 5 minutes to order. I got my drink fairly fast; I would say under 5 minutes. I got the Jasmine Matcha and typically I'm not a big matcha person but omg... I am in love!! When I was ordering I was debating between their most popular, Double Matcha, or the seasonal Jasmine Matcha. The cashier was so sweet and answered my questions regarding the two. I went with the Jasmine Matcha and it is so good, I could definitely see why this place has so much hype. Theres plenty of seating and the area is fairly big. read more

Stagger Coffee might just have the best matcha I've ever had in LA. It does get a long line even when it's close to closing time; however, their service is QUICK and efficient. I got my drink in less than 2 minutes and the quality of it was top notch. I got the double matcha with oat milk which ellicited a stronger taste of matcha but with a little hint of sweetness and bitterness. Craving this as I write this review! We walked over after grabbing lunch elsewhere and it wasn't too crowded on a Sunday late afternoon. There were a lot of people studying inside but we were able to snag a few seats to hangout. The interior is super chic and trendy. I ordered the double matcha and it was amazing! It was on the sweeter side but overall, it was creamy, delicious, and hit the spot! Delicious for sure, it's worth trying once but only worth when there isn't a huge line. Their matcha game is up there in ktown, a very popular place among locals. Paid parking lot or street parking if you can find it. They have seats available but fills up pretty quickly, some people seem to sit outside on the walls. read more

Best matcha in KTown. My order is Double Matcha Unsweet. This means the base is just going to be matcha and milk (no sweetener) with that thick layer of matcha cream on top which obviously is sweet. I taste them separately first then combine for that perfect level of sweetness. Don't sleep on the homemade blueberry muffins either. Get em if you can. read more

I usually don't go for super creamy drinks, but Stagger completely changed my mind with their double matcha! it's soooo good and easily my favorite! . I've also tried their Einspanner, and it was perfectly creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. It gets packed no matter what day of the week you go, but the staff is always efficient and friendly, so the wait never feels too bad. Finding a seat can be a little challenging because it's so popular. The interior itself is simple, clean, and nice! It's a nice spot to hang out if you can snag a table. There's parking since it's located in a small plaza, but it's pretty limited because of how busy it gets. Street parking can also be a bit of a pain but honestly, it's worth it for a drink here haha! read more

This is a hyped coffee shop, but it's still really good. The parking lot is small and shared with other spots so you'll likely need to find street parking. I'm a matcha person so I've only tried the matcha. The double matcha is pretty thick because of the matcha foam. The drink is very creamy so it's something to sip on slowly rather than down. There is a good amount of seating, most of which are seats with individual low coffee tables. Service can be a bit slow because they're busy, but it's understandable. read more

Beautifully minimalist coffee and matcha shop with a variety of different seatings. Love the table blocks and different types of seats as well. Logistics were great as my drink came in fast even though there was a long line! Unfortunately that's all of the good part about Stagger Coffee. The parking situation is horrendous! It's so small that you can't stop by and pick up coffee, and Koreatown is notorious for having limited street parking - you'd have to park a few blocks away in order to get here unless you want to pay for valet. I ordered a double matcha, and it did not live to my standards. While it was rich and creamy, it lacked matcha even though the name itself applies there should be twice the matcha serving. Moreover, the vanilla overwhelms the matcha flavor, and I would liked a better balance to get more matcha taste, and have vanilla to complement the sweetness. read more

What I appreciated most was that it wasn't overloaded with sweetness, allowing the matcha flavor to remain the focus. The drink had a creamy texture and tasted well-balanced from start to finish. The shop itself has a clean, minimalist vibe, and it was fun watching the drinks being made right at the counter. Service was friendly, and the staff took their time crafting each drink with care. It was a bit overpowering for me. Next time I will order something more basic. I came here midweek in the afternoon so there were no lines. Stopped by this location for the Hapa Kristin collab and it didn't disappoint! I ordered their signature Hapa Kristin crimson cloud that was an hibiscus tea, house made orange syrup and a house made lemon cranberry rosemary foam. It was refreshing and delicious and I ordered the apple cream cheese danish (warmed) and it was HEAVENLY. The perfect amount of cinnamon apple filling with a great portion of cream cheese was just what I needed in the morning. The space is fairly large for a coffee shop in Ktown so there is plenty of space to sit and enjoy your food. However the parking is questionable due to it being located in a plaza so they share space with other stores. (The staff aren't willing to help if someone blocks you in) The staff was welcoming and helpful as they do have a wide range selection of treats and drinks, so they don't mind taking extra time to answer questions. Definitely plan to return! read more

Fav matcha in LA! Bonus that the wait here is never that long (even on weekends), since they are super efficient. Fairly priced quality drinks & street parking is do-able in this area if you don't mind walking a few blocks. Lots of indoor seating & a decent amount of outdoor seating as well. The double matcha here is very good. It's the right level of sweetness and there's a vanilla (?) taste that distinguishes it from other matchas I've had. My only gripe is that the cups are small for $7.75 (see it side by side next to motiq's $7.50 matcha) and they don't fill up the cup if you ask for light ice which is an annoying business practice as it would cost them 1 cent to add a tiny bit more cold foam or matcha Edit: the matcha was too strong and kept me up all night read more

Excellent quality matcha that lives up to its hype. While the line was about 15-20min around noon on a Saturday, I'd say it was worth the wait to finally give Stagger a shot. Your best bet for parking is on the street. The shop has a modern industrial feel, with plenty of tables for working/studying, though it was packed when I was there. The double matcha is smooth and creamy, with a decadent cream top. The quality is great, but size is kind of small. Absolutely delicious matcha! I heard about this place from TikTok and wanted to give it a try and it was worth it. My friends and I got 3 drinks and it came out to be $23.50. The parking lot is valet only so beware. We had to find street parking which wasn't too difficult on a Wednesday afternoon. We went on Wednesday and there were a decent amount of people there. We didn't have to wait long at all. We got our drinks about 3 minutes after we paid. I personally give the strawberry matcha a 9/10! You can taste the freshness of the strawberry and it was not grainy at all. I would go again! read more

My friend got the Double Matcha, which I thought was too sweet and too strongly tasting of whatever flavor sweetener they used. I tasted less of the matcha, but the matcha cream too was strong. Parking is difficult, we had to circle around a couple times before finding an open street parking spot. What's a Stagger review without mentioning parking? It's god awful. The cafe is tucked in the corner, so parking is definitely challenging and the way that there's valet for that little area is insane to me lmao. But regardless, I was a big fan of the double matcha, it definitely gives off a "dessert" vibe by how creamy it is, but I really enjoyed the sweetness it had. If that's more your vibe, then I would definitely say the double matcha is the way to go. read more

High quality matcha and great customer service for a place that has non-stop lines. I almost went with their best seller, the double matcha, but then I saw that they had a seasonal jasmine matcha latte that made me think of Molly Tea right away, and from the picture with the dried jasmine flowers, it seems like it would be a very fragrant and flavorful drink. It didn't disappoint at all--the jasmine and matcha blend with oat milk and half sugar came out exactly as I hoped. The mouthfeel and texture were great and the sweetness was surprisingly what I'd consider almost 100% at other cafes. The only thing was that they forgot to top it with the dried flowers, which was a selling point for me. The servers were extremely nice and patient in spite of how busy it was. read more

Walk straight to the counter, menu on table, and place your order. They'll call your name when it's ready. - double matcha - ceremonial matcha, housemade vanilla, housemade matcha cream, housemade cream, matcha powder. Only served iced. Made with regular milk. Matcha cream was a substantial layer in the drink and had incredible flavor. Lightly sweet balanced with the bitterness of the matcha that worked well. Matcha itself tasted really good quality. Thankfully that wait is not TOO long compared to the 2-3 hour wait lines during peak, and 3rd street is very walkable. There are lots of store to window shop or some coffee shops that might be a great place to kill some time.

Stopped by Stagger Coffee yesterday and got a matcha latte. And it was honestly pretty good. at least much much better than what you would expect for the price. The flavor was smooth and earthy and the milk was perfectly forthy. The place had such a chilly vibe too, soft music, nice lighting and everything felt calm. This spot is popular on social media, and the foot traffic shows it. The minimalist vibe is nice, with ample seating inside and outside. Last night was my first time ever coming here at night. My friend told us that they are open until midnight, so that's why we decided to come here after dinner. I had heard that parking here can be a nightmare because there aren't enough parking spaces and people have a hard time finding a spot. But once again, my parking luck was AMAZING! A car pulled out right in front of me just as I arrived, so I was able to park very easily. Another friend arrived later than I did, and she said she couldn't find a parking spot at all. She drove around for quite a while looking for one before finally finding street parking. Last night, we also had some tiramisu, and since I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, I decided to have a caffeine-free ade instead of coffee or tea. It was a little sweet for my taste, but it was ok. We sat outside on the outdoor patio and talked and talked and talked. We had such a fun time together! However, it was actually pretty cold outside last night. I remember thinking that it felt surprisingly chilly. But what was even crazier was how FREEZING cold it was inside the café! They had the air conditioning turned up so high that both my friends and I felt like we were going to freeze to death. The restroom is inside, and I also went inside to get some water, so I mentioned to one of the male employees that it was freezing inside. He told me that they didn't feel cold at all because they were working, and that THEY were actually feeling really hot. I went back to our table and told my friends what he had said, and they were like, "WHAT?! We're freezing to death over here!" The parking lot here is actually pretty large, so I was wondering why it was so difficult to find a parking spot. Apparently, at night, the left side is the café, while on the right side there is a bar where people can drink and also play games. There was a huge line of people waiting outside the bar last night, so I'm guessing that's probably why the parking lot gets so crowded and it's hard to find a spot. It was also pretty chilly outside last night because of the low temperature, so one thing I wished they had on the outdoor patio was heaters. That would have made sitting outside much more comfortable on a cold night.

Overall, it was a really fun variety to try at once. The cortado was also very good. It had a nice flavor, smooth texture, and was easy to drink. Their approach is a little different from a traditional cortado presentation because the espresso and milk are fully integrated together rather than finished with latte art. I actually appreciate that style when it's executed well because the focus is more on getting the espresso and milk completely incorporated into one cohesive drink. The presentation across the entire order was also really well done. You can tell there's thought behind how everything is served and put together, which adds to the overall experience. The Wagyu Sliders were great as well. I think the food side of Archives of Us deserves more attention because they have some genuinely good food options to go along with the drinks rather than the food feeling like an afterthought. The space itself is beautifully designed with plenty of seating inside as well as an outdoor seating area. I love the overall atmosphere and aesthetic -- there are certain details about the design, presentation, and experience that remind me of coffee shops I've visited in Japan. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was extremely friendly, kind, and welcoming. Overall, Archives of Us has a lot going for it. A beautiful space, great service, thoughtful presentation, a strong variety of drinks, solid coffee, and food worth trying as well.
