It's delicious, I must admit, but the price leaves much to be desired. With tax and tip, it came out to ~17 bucks a person. Who pays 17 bucks a person for Mongolian BBQ?? I could go to the mall and pile high my noodles and ingredients for 7 bucks, and I'd still come away overly full and 100% satisfied. Why on earth would I go to Su's to get even more uncomfortably stuffed and not leaved satisfied that I'd gotten my money's worth? Hrmph. However, if you are willing to pay the money, you'll get a pretty decent Mongolian BBQ experience out of it. There are plenty of ingredient options to choose from, including fresh shrimp which is a recent addition that I hadn't seen the last time I was there. A whole row of 10-12 sauces await your saucing pleasure before you take one (or two) bowls of STUFF to the chefs standing around the large, circular grill. Swish, swish, swish, and your cooked pile of STUFF goes into a bowl, ready for you to chow down. Piping hot, fresh, and delicious - what's not to like? Save room for dessert of course; I don't know why, but their soft serve is addictive. Probably cuz my burnt tongue from the Mongolian BBQ needs it to cool down. Yum. P.S. But inside, you'll find plenty of happy endings since this is a all you can ear buffet mongolian Grill. I watched a co-worker on several occasion eat four, thats right, four, massive bowls w/o breaking a sweat. Start with putting the meat in one bowl, Beef, Pork, Chicken, or Shrimp, then the veggies. NOTE: Follow the sauce receipe for best results. I split the sauce between my two bowls for optimum flavor. Your two bowls { Pre-cooked } will end up being one massive bowl. For a local Mongolian BBQ place, Su's is the spot. I would not say that it's a hole-in-the-wall spot, but it's located on a part of Camino where I would say not a lot of folks would expect for a good restaurant to be. I will venture to say that Mongolian BBQ food is pretty standard in terms of quality. As such with the food at Su's (they have lamb, beef, and chicken; I could have sworn I saw raw shrimp somewhere on their menu prior to coming, but I may have been mistaken). They keep their trays stocked with noodles (this usually runs out rather quick) and the rest of the ingredients. Their sauces and marinades are very accessible compared to most other Mongolian BBQs I've been to (long ladle and containers are lined up for use just about at waist height). There's only one grill with one person working it, so you might have to wait in line for a bit. Not big of an issue, but after your first bowl, you can time it right so you can go back without much of a wait time. I went in the middle of the week for dinner by myself, and I could definitely see the place getting packed out. It appears that it's good for groups of 3-4 people at a time. Su's Mongolian would EASILY be missed if you didn't look closely enough. Don't be deceived by the shoddy and outdated appearance from the inside and outside but their quality is great! Easily one of my favorite Mongolian places to eat in town with a reasonable price. They offer all the usual meats, noodles, and sides as any other Mongolian restaurant except they also include some Chinese dishes as well: Fried rice, orange chicken, eggrolls, etc. I would definitely be coming back here when I crave for Mongolian once more! read more

This is a great place for a quick meal. It is a self serve all you can eat noodle house . You grab your bowl and go down the line which has your choice of beef, or chicken and various vegetables . Throw some noodles and sauce in there and hand it over to the man on the grill who throws it down and cooks it for you . Everything is fresh. Servers are friendly and attentive. Egg rolls and soft serve ice cream included in the price. It's a great deal . The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is because it could really use an update in the decor and building- it is extremely basic and bare bones . But otherwise a great concept! read more

I have been visiting this restaurant for 8 years now and am amazed by it's consistency. Granted it's a mongolian BBQ and hence taste is a factor of what I pick to be cooked. But the variety offered and the quality are very reliable. This place is super efficient and very focused on the essentials. It is not going to win any michelin stars for its ambience but is really good in terms of taste and service. The parking lot can be very small and crowded but there is plenty of street parking nearby. Don't believe the posted hours. I arrived just before 2 for a quick lunch. They turned me away, saying that they had closed at 1:50. The open sign was still on the door. I will interpret this as... they care about their business and customers only until it's slightly inconvenient for them. I've been here once before a few years ago when a friend brought me for lunch. I remember it being good. For whatever reason it popped in my mind tonight and of we went. We walked in at 8pm and it wasn't too crowded given it was an hour before they closed, maybe four tables in the restaurant. We were greeted warmly and welcomed towards the buffet and Mongolian BBQ station. The buffet was half empty (some items gone and not replaced), the fried rice looked a bit old and dried out. The BBQ setup was full and plentiful. Since it's why we're there I opted for the BBQ. I had two different visits the BBQ bar and opted not to eat the buffet, less two yummy spring rolls. My first bowl was pork, water chestnuts, carrots, mushrooms, onions, jalapeños, broccoli, and bean sprouts (my water noodles lol). I added soy, sugar, vinegar, garlic, oyster, chili oil, and chili paste to the first from the sauce choices. The man cooking the food for you is nice is does a great job. First bowl was good. My second serving was pork and chicken, water chestnuts, carrots, onions, and bean sprouts. For the sauce I used soy, vinegar, easy sugar, oyster, chili paste, chili oil, BBQ oil, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and white pepper. OMG!! I discovered a new favorite. I enjoyed both with a little steamed rice on the side. I did ask them if they were going to put out any spring rolls that I had seen when I walked in (they looked so good) and they made a small fresh batch so we could try them. All in all we enjoyed the meal. They even have a vanilla soft serve machine with cake ice cream cones. The lunch buffet is $11.99 and the dinner/weekend is $14.99. They do offer takeout but you have to pay just a little extra for the boxes. I wanted to give them three stars because of the state of the buffet. I know it was an hour from closing but that's still plenty of time to keep small batches available to the patrons there. Five or six more people walked in while we were there. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and willingness to accommodate is why I gave them four stars. That and the delicious Mongolian BBQ!!! We stopped at this place to eat dinner after a long trip from Oregon and I wish I was able to do a minus in the grading. First problem. There was a sign that said LAMB and it was pork, I asked the lady and she said is LAMB when it clearly wasn't then she said oh I made a mistake I put pork in the wrong place and she admitted that they dint have any lamb. Carpet and tables were disgusting including where they keep the sauces. I'm sorry for the bad review but I just got the hotel and I'm getting stomach ache and a diarrhea while writing this review. It's hard not to become a fan of a place like this. Michael C. was just getting out of a meeting, and I was just done with a hella long teleconference call and just craved meat again. When that mood strikes, Mongolian BBQ can really hit the spot. This is my second time to Su's Mongolian BBQ, and as before, this was a great meal and completely satisfying. Su's is in a small run-down strip mall, and upon entering, the overall vibe is somewhat similar. To the right is the seating area, maybe seating about 50-75, so not very big, and all the tables and chairs have a really cheap folding metal chair look to them, like the kind you buy at home depot and bring to picnics. But who cares about that? The magic is in the food, and magic it is. To the left is the all-you-can-fill service. Grab a coupla bowls (always two...always two), and skip the side dishes that are right where the bowls are. Start at the meat station and fill up on whatever you desire in one bowl which I'm dubbing the "meat" bowl. They have beef, pork, chicken and lamb all really thinly sliced, and they also have tons of shrimp. Be warned though, the meat shrinks....a lot. so make sure the meat is piled high if that's what you're in the mood for. Move along the counter and grab some noodles and vegetables and put it in the other bowl. However much you can fill the bowls is up to you. The noodles, on the other hand, don't shrink at all, so be a little conservative here if you're not sure how hungry you are. As for veggies, the cabbage and stuff shrinks a lot, but the broccoli and carrots and mushrooms don't. They also have jalapenos, but they don't cut them very thin, and they're fairly hot, not inedible by any means, but pretty hot. Move around to the other side of the counter and there are close to a dozen bowls of various liquids. There is a "recipe" at the top for first timers, but but you make adjustments accordingly. With stuff like soy sauce, bbq oil, hot oil, hot sauce, vinegar, garlic oil, ginger and other stuff, you'll have plenty to experiment with. The sauces all go into the noodle bowl. Then grab both bowls and turn around to where the other counter. Here, you set your food down and one of the two chefs will grab your food and put it on a large round flat cooking surface. Then they continue to move the food a little at a time around the circular surface until the food is cooked and end up putting everything back into the noodle bowl. Grab a drink and find a seat. Wow...what a meal. Awesome, every time. For all this, the cost is reasonable at about $15 and change per person before tip. And a nice added touch, you get a fortune cookie. My friend Mark is a trained professional here and led me to a little secret...grab two bowls! My first time, when I was a Su's virgin that is, I went up to the chef with one bowl filled to the top and after it was cooked, it looked like a kid's meal! I believe Mark's exact words were "maximize your meat homie!" That saying has stuck with me! Fill one bowl with meat and use the other bowl to pack it in there. The other bowl, aside from being used as a meat press, is for veggies and noodles. You'll thank me for this advice later. As far as the food, I think it is as good as any Mongolian BBQ can be; it is tasty, bold in flavor and the ingredients are fresh. I have never made the same dish twice, and no, that is not on purpose. It is just so fun creating your own mixture of meat and veggies! As far as the atmosphere and setting, who the hell cares? Sure, it is bland and you would never think it was cut out to be a restaurant setting, but the food makes up for it. All of the meat and veggies were pretty fresh and tasty, but the Chinese food in the little buffet thing was bland and/or stale. Minus 1 star because the cashier charged me the adult price for my eight year old, and when I pointed it out he said "She eat like adult" and still charged the adult price. I thought that the selection of meats, veggies, 2 types of tofu looked very fresh. They had lots of sauces to choose from too. The one lonely cook, with a line of 8 looked very unhappy and im sure was hot AF cooking all that food. The Mongolian BBQ was delicious. The Chinese food off to the side was not. Lady workers also looked unhappy and didn't seem like they wanted any of us there. Soft serve ice cream was actually very good. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across all the yelp reviews on this place. The best review was Maxx L's who was dead on. His tips on how to navigate this place made it easy for me to pretend I've always eaten here! Not a lot to add that hasn't been mentioned in the other 58 reviews (yeah - you guys like to yelp alot on this place): - I did add the first batch of photos so the rest of you can see what this unassuming no frills place looks like. -The crowd was fully of NVIDIA engineers and other Silicon Valley geeks. - All you can eat for $8.99 lunch, $10.99 dinner includes the Mongolian grill, a buffet table of fried rice, egg rolls, BBQ pork ribs as well as an ice cream cone machine and fortune cookies (not sure what it means when my fortune cookie was missing the fortune). - If you are a vegetarian you can get by at this place with the noodles, vegetables and tofu for protein. You just have to get past the fact they cook your stuff on the same stir fry table as all the carnivores. - If you got small kids you'll probably need a hand to juggle all the bowls. Letting kids touch raw meat (albeit frozen) is probably not the best idea unless you wash up before eating. read more

I would give Su's 0 stars if it was possible. Honestly, the food is decent and the price just above average compared to similar places. When I checked in about a week ago (last week of November), I went for lunch during a slow Tuesday at 12 noon. I opted to purchase a take-out bbq for $15, which is nearly twice the price of their sit-in rate. The proprietor allowed me to take one bowl for meat and one bowl for vegetables. I carefully stacked beef and shrimp in one bowl, and broccoli and onions in the other bowl. After the cook prepared my food (always tip the cook), the take out box was pretty packed. At the cash register, the proprietor forcefully flipped open the box with an annoyed expression because he expected me to take much less food. Two shrimp popped out, and one of the shrimp stained my sweater. There was no apology for this disrespect, and if I had a more violent nature I would have been tempted to fling the rest of the food in his face. The proprietor accused me of taking too much food and told me that in the future, I would be only allowed one bowl. "Fine", I thought, "If he thinks I stack the bowl I guess I can live with just one bowl". I put my hand on the take out box to keep it shut and reached for my wallet to pay. This guy flipped open the take out box again, and some broccoli fell on the floor. I'm a pretty non-confrontational guy so I just ignored it. I hadn't been here in years, so I was anxious to get back. However, I was somewhat disappointed. The prices have gone way up, and I get that. Food cost everywhere is on the rise. But add to that the change in the all you can eat concept. That has been taken away. Not only are you limited to two trips, the fried rice and egg rolls that used to be included, are now extra. Aside from the chefs rolling the food around and the sodas or beer, there really isn't any table service to speak of. The place looks the same, nothing to really write about or complain about. Feels like the dining hall at a senior home. So, bottom line, am I a big fat pig complaining about the removal of the all you can eat? Maybe, but it's more irritating that all the extras now cost money too. Here is the bottom line, it's no longer worth the high price of $23 for two trips. (And limited to 2 bowls.....this food really shrinks down when cooked) Remember, this is mostly veggies and shaved meat. The restaurant is not even as nice as the El Camino Mongolian BBQ, which is also cheaper than this place, and the El Camino has the same variety (e.g. egg rolls, fried chicken, soup, ...etc besides the Mongolian BBQ sides and entrees.) Perhaps they can charge me less if I don't touch their extra dishes, because I believe people go here mainly just for the Mongolian BBQ. Upon realizing I forgot it- I called the establishment right away; and they confirmed I left it there.... The lady on the phone said she was going to put it aside until I can pick it up... I came in on a Sunday to pick it up; but didn't realize they were closed. So I called today; and spoke to the owner; he told me they put things left away for customers.. But he advised me to call back at 11am when his staff comes in. I called back and this lady picks up the phone and says "NO JACKET" then hangs up. WTF. eat my jacket. They close at 9pm. By 8:30 the closed sign is flipped, there is no "last call" for anyone not even the people that just walked in and their food is not even on the grill. By 8:45 all the food has already been put away and the grill is turned off (surprised they didn't shut off the ice cream machine).. When you talk to them and ask if you can get another bowl before their actual closing time they say "no no no" and when you ask why they say because they want to get out of there by 9. Su's Mongolian owned my stomach. I kept waking up to the terrible stench of my own farts throughout the night. It was the smell of my own body digesting Su's. But I don't regret the meal at all! It looks pretty shady from the outside, but it's not bad when you get in. $15 for all-you-can-eat mongolian bbq, it's really made for the hungry and the fatties in this area. I wish they had more vegetable selections but I was pretty impressed with variety of sauce selections. Met my sister and BIL for lunch here one afternoon. It's a no frills place so don't expect much. It was packed and we were lucky to get a 4-top table. There's only one cook back there so you should anticipate a slight wait before you get your hot steaming plate of noodles. Perhaps the owners will read reviews and train the staff to multi-task and cook several plates at once since the grill is quite large. :D They have a fridge of beer, should you want a bottle, and they have a ice cream machine to help cool your palate after you burn your tongue off like I did. I've driven by this place many a time and always wanted to try it out because I've only heard good things about mongolian bbq and it's a buffet. The place is really easy to miss because it's true hole in the wall, but fortunately I have built in radar for such a thing. owww It's pretty small and basic inside. Once you walk in, one side has all the food and kitchen area, the other side is tables and chairs while you consume your food. The buffet presentation is very basic, you grab a bowl (or two) and start with meat choosing from beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, and/or lamb, then noodles, then a while bunch of veggies which were actually pretty fresh. The meat was frozen but I didn't mind. Once you had your meat and veggies, you then got to pick what sauces and oils you wanted to add such as garlic, hot chili, and sweet and sour. So if you didn't like the flavor of your food, it's your own fault. Take it up to the counter where the cooks cook it up for you fast. Servers came by to take dirty bowls away and pitchers of water were kept up front for self serve refills. They also had a hot buffet with various things like rice and spring rolls. The place: is small and decently cleaned. The Hot Buffet: 5 items to choose from (wow really!) The Mongolian BBQ buffet: You choose your own meat, veggies and sauces.. they cook it for you. The bowls are so small you almost have to use a minimum of 2 bowls to put your meats, noodles, and veggies in it. If you're like me and like lots of veggies you will most likely use 3 bowls. The Service: Horrible. Asians with attitude. Can't stand places like this. I'm Asian myself but I have gone to way too many Asian restaurants where they carry their Asian personalities into their businesses with them! Leave them at home! The Taste: Nothing special. I came in here tonight to get some to go. I used 3 bowls mostly with just veggies and the cook had a cow! He was like "3 bowls!".. I looked at him and said, "YES! mostly veggies!" with a smile. He called the owner over and they started speaking in Chinese (I have no clue what they were saying) After the guy was done cooking my noodles, he put in a to go box for me (sloppily) and I walked it over to pay for it.
