For a more honest review, I would have to try more slices and maybe even the fried pasta. I have to say, the selection here is excellent! There are plenty of vegetarian options and some vegan ones as well, but those can be a little on the pricey side. I ordered the veggie fiesta (mozzarella, tomato sauce, cherry tomato confit, roasted peppers, mixed mushrooms) because I do love myself a good veggie pizza. Unregular Pizza provides some fresh options for a slice and some sides that are seemingly, well, unregular. The space is pretty small so I'd recommend ordering takeout at this spot, but it's also great to look at. Lots of branding, lights, colors, and cute pizza art on their whiteboard. While I was here, I ordered the burrapizza cafonata, fried pasta vodka, and garlic squares. The burrapizza was $11, which caught my attention considering the regular cheese slice is $4. I figured the burrata cheese really gives this slice an edge, but I didn't want to raise my expectations too much. Even at Unregular, I keep my bar neutral and regular. I like the subtle spice that came with the sauce for sure. It helped to enhance the already rich and robust flavor of the tomatoes. The pepperoni was crisp to the edge and gave a nice supporting crunch to the crust which was also notably crunchy and fluffy beyond its surface. Cutting open the burrata was a unique (unregular, might I say again) experience: there's a beautiful presentation that comes with the abstract spillage of the light cream. It also gave a cool and milky taste that balanced the warm and savory spice of the tomato sauce and pepperoni. Generally, the slice was good but was it an $11 slice? That's a good question. The fried pasta earns novelty points from me for sure. We've seen it all: fried chicken, vegetables, squid, you name it, but fried pasta was a first. The breading was the most notable component here in terms of texture: very tightly composed yet crumbly upon biting it. I'm not sure if I would've preferred a finer or smoother breading or maybe more crunch, but as it is I can't necessarily complain. The pasta and vodka sauce handled the taste aspect pretty nicely: it's all you would expect from your standard bowl of pasta and some may even consider it a classic. The garlic squares definitely give diversity to the meal in terms of texture, but I would expect more in terms of flavor. Each piece had a significant buoyancy to it: you give it a little squeeze and it'll bounce back on you. That makes for a fulfilling chew and a slight crunch on some of the crispier pieces which I really liked. However, the taste of garlic wasn't very apparent. Saved my breath for today, but I lost the main attraction when it comes to any form of garlic bread. Nonetheless, the bread itself is fresh and I wouldn't mind eating them outside of the assumption of buttery garlic flavor. In general, there are some unregular flavors spun onto what would be regular dishes here at Unregular Pizza but I can't guarantee that I'll become a regular despite the creativity. read more

We saw a video of their Burrata pizza on tiktok & wanted to try it so bad that my husband went out in 90F weather to pick few slices. While the Burrapizza with mushroom was 3/5, Burrapizza Amatriciana is 1/5 . I have had pizza with burrata before but never one drizzled with salt. The Amatriciana had so much salt that it was barely edible. I had to remove all the meat & dab the pizza with kitchen towel before eating it. Yikes! The only redemption was their Parmigiana Plus (eggplant) slice which I would give 4/5 stars. We might give this place another shot but the Burrapizza Amatriciana is a hard pass. I much prefer Marta's fresh mozzarella pizza to the Burrapizza. If "influencers" are giving this place 5 stars then either they haven't yet tried Burrapizza Amatriciana or they don't know what a good slice tastes like. read more

I only ate delivery here. One of the best pizza experiences I had delivered in NYC. The crust makes the pizza here. It's not super thin (but not too thick either) which allowed it to stay crunchy without being doughy even though it was delivery. Amatriciana was out of this world. Spicy and tart sauce was well balanced by the burrata on top. Emiliana (proscuitto sandwich) was the highlight. Crunchy, light focaccia bread filled with delicious proscuitto and cheese. The bitterness of the arugula paired well with the sweet meats and cheeses and was an excellent addition. unMushroom was my least favorite of the three, but it could be because I ate a slice of the Amatriciana and Emiliana first and was very full before I tried the unMushroom pizza. It did have plenty of mushrooms and good earthy mushroom flavor. I'm a big eater and the fact that I was full on a slice of pizza and a sandwich should give you some idea of the portions (they are filling). Don't hesitate to order from here. I've tried a lot of pizza delivery in the city and taste, quality of ingredients, and resilience of the food during delivery, makes this my top pizza choice. read more

The name of this pizza place is quite fitting. I've never had Roman style pizza before today. The staff matched the chill vibes of restaurant. I bought the Cafonata Burrapizza (pizza with Burrata on top) slice, the fried Cacio E Pepe, and imported Italian soda as my beverage. It doesn't take a vacation to or living in NYC to know how legendary their pizza joints are. I'm from Chicago originally so I battle these comparisons constantly. I think the party cut wins hands down, but I'm not the biggest fan of deep dish anymore. With that said, when I came across Unregular Pizza featured on a foodie influencer's page and being close to my office I had to test it. I tried a slice of the Cacio E Pepe [mozzarella, black pepper, ricotta, pecorino romano DOP (24 months)] plus I added their famous dollop of burrata on top. Unregular pizza has some really great pizza! I had the Margherita and vodka when I went, both were spot on. The dough is nice and fluffy, crisp and flavorful. The sauces both packed a punch and yummy cheeses. One thing I will not be going back for is this terrible chicken thigh parm sandwich. Who in the hell in NYC makes a thigh meat chicken parm? Deep rich flavor in a hearty well seasoned sauce. I fully intended to just have a bite of each to taste after the first bite of the pizza however, I was completely hooked and determined to eat it all. The flavors of all the vegetables melted perfectly with the hearty and slightly sweet marinara sauce. Nothing over powered the other, and you felt that each bite contained a fresh and perfectly chard mix of each. My one regret is that I did not have more space in my stomach to continue to try more. In a city where everybody claims to have the best slice, I can say that Unregular Pizza definitely backs it up. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience with great flavors and worth the trek out there, this is the place to definitely put on the itinerary for your next trip! Always delicious! I've probably tried everything from the pizza rolls, sandwiches, and their signature the burratta pizza. My favorite is the Buffalo chicken and I really love the pizza rolls as a snack! Like a grown up hot pocket. It is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for, if you know what I'm saying. ;) The best part is the bread, like focaccia, it's super airy and rich but light.
