The setting: Casual modern lunch truck vibe, tons of seating all around here in this food truck mecca around the corner from Chase Center. The meal: I wanted something simple and relatively healthy, so I ordered the fire grilled chicken bowl here from the friendly crew. In about five minutes, I had before me a perfectly prepared good sized portion of char-grilled dark meat chicken chopped into several slices placed over a heaping bed of white rice, with a green salad on the side. The chicken was hot, moist and juicy but to me, it needs a bit more seasoning or kick to it. I was also hoping for some salad dressing to bring a bit of zing to the fresh salad, but there wasn't any on it. to be fair, I'll ask for dressing if I try this again. In short, it was a well prepared, but a bit bland. Maybe they just forgot to put on the vinaigrette dressing on mine.. With a bit of seasoning or condiments, this Fire grilled chicken bowl could be pretty tasty. Verdict: I should have gone for the crab fried rice instead. Maybe next time!

The Vietnamese Sticky Wings after we attacked the container!

Stumbled on Spark Beer Garden and found Wicked Star as 1 of the variety of food trucks available. We tried the Vietnamese Sticky Wings and the Thai Chicken Salad. Both were generous portions and very delicious. We even took home some yummy essentials for the next day. I was glad their food came in compostable paper containers!

    My boyfriend's sassy request

My boyfriend and I visited Wicked Star when we were at Spark Social SF! Wicked Star was one of the food trucks there and caught our eye. We ordered from Wicked Star (Vietnamese American Fusion). At Wicked Star, we kept it light and got the Thai Chicken Salad and the Vietnamese Sticky Wings. Everything tasted delish and we had no complaints! I like that there was a good amount of chicken and avocado in the salad, and the chicken was full of flavor and we enjoyed the Fish Sauce as the dressing. The sticky wings were also very good - I can't really do spicy and they were very accommodating, making my half of the wings non-spicy :') The slider was yummy and not too greasy which we enjoyed!

Love the Thai chicken salad, it's juicy clean refreshing. But oh boy, do not ever order through DoorDash. I've placed 4 different DoorDash orders in the past year for pick up, and they never check DoorDash orders until you ask about it when pick up is due. No point in ordering ahead of time - they only pay attention to the onsite kiosk orders. Once they retrain staff I will consider increasing the rating, their Thai chicken salad is just too good. Our friend got their crab fried rice and leaves much to be desired.

    Pork Belly and Lime Bowl
    Maggie C.

I've been duped by the photos and description plastered on the side of the truck. I got the pork belly lime bowl and wasn't impressed. What was advertised as crispy, flavorful looking pork belly came out looking parboiled and limp. The supposed fish sauce was barely there. Another patron returned to the truck to ask for more sauce while I was waiting. The rice was mushy and wet. Sorry to say it but Wicked Star...you are mostly wicked with little star.

Please beware and check your wings before ordering! I've gotten the Vietnamese sticky wings from here before and they were good. However, when receiving my wings today, as I was walking I realized the container wasn't hot. I opened it and the wings were completely cold and incredibly soggy, but I had no time to walk back. I only made it through two wings when I realized that all of the meat was truly cold and chewy, and had a horrible taste. I have no idea what happened today, but it was absolutely unacceptable.

    White Lotus. Wrong sauce.

I like their white Lotus and order it a lot. The experience of ordering through their Snackpass app leaves a lot to be desired, however. The app said they opened at 11 -- they opened 15 minutes late. The app said my food was ready -- it wasn't ready until at least 15 minutes later. I had to wait 25 minutes from the time I ordered until my food was ready. Also, no apologies or any explanation. Probably not ordering from here for a while.

Made the mistake of not ordering what the cashier recommended. They recommended the Panko Shrimp and the Crab Fried Rice. I ordered the wings. Do not order these!!! The skin was way too thick, and they were not freshly cooked. The quality of the meat also wasn't great. It was ready in less than 5 minutes which makes me think it was reheated. The flavors on the outside weren't bad, but I really wouldn't recommend this. This is located in the Spark Social food truck area.

    Crab fried rice $13.50

I love food trucks. This Thai Viet fusion sounded interesting so I decided to give it a try. You order from a kiosk. They take both cash and card. After ordering, my food was ready in like 2-3 minutes.. sus... This felt like such a big scam. For $13.50, I expected a box full of rice; not a shared space with salad. The rice looks so bland and all I really taste is black pepper. The crab was there but there's a ton of shell. I'm pretty sure I only got 1 egg because there's not much in the fried rice. 2000% skip this if you're considering.

Crab Fried Rice ($14.95) - 2.5 stars. Overpriced. I tasted crab shell. Not enough crab, egg, or veggies. Salad was sad. Sun lunch 2023-08-27

Crab fried rice ($14.95) - 2.5 stars Overpriced and underdelivered! I tasted bits of crab shell in this. And overall did not think there was enough flavor or crab, or other veggies. The side sald was incredibly sad, just lettuce and tomato, no flavor. I would not get this again.

I always like to try food trucks,it was nice to go to a place with so many food truck choices in one park,i decided to check this one out,and i ordered sticky chicken.it was just ok on the sweetness and sticky part, the chicken in my own taste could have been better if a little crisp.

My experience with spark social has been mixed. Last time I ordered from a Korean place and it was awful. This place however is great. Got the grilled chicken with rice and salad all came and it's $12 ish. And the passion fruit lemonade. $5 also yummy. Would be back.

Food is ok it gets the job done. Ordered crab fried rice w/chicken, and fried prawns. It also includes a side salad with an amazing litr vinergarette. The rice was not a day old, lol, and the chicken could have been cooked a little longer, more char. The shrimps now those were fried to perfection. Order was simple walk up yo yhe kiosk place, and they'll text you when it's ready. It took about 10 minutes if that was to make. You do have to ask for sauces and napkins.

Pork belly and lime (soft it's not crispy).

"IT'S QUE VIET!"…read more No Superman here, but let me be your hero for a second because I'm about to put you on to, hands down, **the best Vietnamese food I've ever had**. I actually discovered Que Viet through DoorDash and had everything delivered. I ordered the Deep-Fried Imperial Rolls (Cha Gio), Grilled Chicken & Chicken Imperial Roll Garlic Noodles (Mi Top Ga Nuong Cha Gio Ga), Grilled Pork Sausage Rolls (Nem Cuon), Vietnamese Shrimp Mini Crepes (Banh Xeo Tom), and the Grilled Pork Sausage & Sliced Pork Woven Vermicelli (Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong). Yes... I spent almost **$100 for two people**. Looking back at the receipt, I had to ask myself, *"Is this place expensive, or am I just fat?"* Honestly... probably a little of both. Either way, it was one of the best $100 I've ever spent. If it's your first time ordering from Que Viet, do yourself a favor and get the **garlic noodles**. I know garlic noodles are everywhere these days, but these completely changed my expectations. They were perfectly cooked with an incredible bounce, packed with rich garlicky flavor, and the portion size was generous enough for leftovers (if you have the self-control). I also tried the **Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong** for the first time, and it did not disappoint. One heads-up, though: it's generously topped with crushed peanuts. My friend has a peanut allergy, so thankfully we caught it before digging in. If you have any nut allergies, be sure to mention it when ordering. Every single dish arrived fresh, flavorful, and tasted like it had just come out of the kitchen despite being delivered. That's not something you can say about many places. If you ever find yourself in the city, you **need** to make a stop at Que Viet. This place has been living rent-free in my head ever since, and I already know I'll be back the next chance I get.

We tried the day's special stuffed wings--boneless wings stuffed with scallops, shrimp, and meat paste that were incredibly crisp, deeply savory, and served piping hot (be careful on that first bite!). Some dishes were better prepared than others, but overall, the food was solid across the board. If you enjoy making your own spring rolls, you'll love the grilled pork skewers. The pork is super tender and has such a incredible flavor profile of lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, and more. Rolled up with the woven vermicelli noodles and fried wonton crisps in a rice paper, you get a wonderful combination of texture in a single bite. The other crowd favorite of the night was the bánh xèo -- the stuffed rice crepe. The bánh xèo here is by far the best one that I've ever had, even surpassing ones I had in Vietnam. The outside was insanely crispy and and was surprisingly not particularly oily, while the inside was loaded with fillings. Two other dishes that were well received by the group was the betel leaf wrapped grilled beef and the sugar cane shrimp. The beef had a very similar flavor profile as the pork, but the texture was a lot more lean. The shrimp had a bouncy, yet firm texture to it, and was very well-seasoned. My only qualm with the shrimp dish is that the sugarcane did not actually have any sweetness to it. There's fish sauce on the table along with a shrimp paste sauce, but to be honest, every dish we had was so flavorful on its own, the sauces aren't even needed. The only dish that we ordered that fell short was the grilled river shrimp. The presentation of the shrimp is impressive and very photogenic, but the flavor was lacking and the cook was inconsistent. Some people had shrimp that was undercooked -- borderline raw, and on the other end of the spectrum, others had shrimp that was so overcooked, that it was very difficult to remove the shrimp from the shell without completely tearing the meat. That said, everything else we ordered was well-prepared, and very tasty. Service was good throughout the meal, and I would definitely come back again for a meal with a large group. 4.5 experience rounding up to a 5.
