Did the bar omakaze with a friend. Service was a bit slow between courses to a point where the sushi chef behind the counter was like I'm just going to hand the plates to you ladies so you're not sitting here waiting. The sushi selection was delicious I really enjoyed each piece. I thought the omakase price point was a little high it was 140$ and we were still hungry after and had to get tacos down the street. I wasn't a big fan of the dessert but my friend really enjoyed it.

Tranquil spot with various omakase options. Came here with my family for an early dinner and made a reservation online beforehand. We opted for the Sushi Bar Omakase for $109 which came with 8 courses (including dessert). A couple of courses had multiple pieces, and we left very full. The blue crab hand roll was my favorite part; it was huge, hot, and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. The fish was super fresh and the pieces kept coming. It was fun to watch them being prepared right in front of us at the bar (there are table seats as well). We enjoyed our meal and I would recommend this for special occasions or a way to treat yourself.

This is an eight course omakase chef selection during dine LA 2025 July . It's same pricing as normal regular days. Parking only on street and service is okay. But a biit pricey . The restaurant is small with only very little tables. I seated at the bar seat.

Went there for a birthday celebration. We do the $75 pp omakase with a special toro uni add on. The fish are fresh but the some of them is a little chewy for me and the chef did add wasabi into some sushi (which I don't like) the wagyu beef/ bluefin tuna/ uni are fantastic! I got a little rose from the restaurant too for bday. Reasonable price for occasional event :)

What an amazing experience this was! I have never been to an Omakase & my boyfriend took me for Valentine's Day :') To start off, the restaurant was clean + aesthetically pleasing to the eye. All the workers were super kind & greeted us immediately upon arriving. Once we got seated, we opted in for the Kannazuki Omakase. The Kannazuki Omakase is a 10 course omakase meal -- perfect for me but my boyfriend was still hungry LOL. You can taste the quality in the fish for each dish & it litcherally melts into your mouth. My favorites of the night were the snow crab coquette with yuzu curd, the Uni & Toro sushi pcs, the Uni tofu (topped off with truffle), and the white fish tart. Everything was so fresh & I wish I could go back and savor it more !! The server who was helping us was super knowledgeable about every omakase dish that came out & answered all the questions we had regarding the menu. She also helped us decide which sake choices to go with & I'm glad we asked for her suggestions -- the sake paired SO well with our meal. Very nice touch how the restaurant gave a rose, a little box with 2 chocolates, and complimentary plum wine to us for Valentine's Day. This was such a great experience :-)

Located in Silverlake, this is one of the best omakase restaurants in Los Angeles. This was recommended by my son who lives in KTown, a short 20 minute drive to Osen. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday. Seated at the sushi counter, we could observe the chef preparing each course. The kitchen looked clean, sanitary and well organized. There were four chefs in the little space but they all knew their duties and weren't bumping into each other. Each plate was delivered in a timely manner and explained with detail. As you can see from the photos, the sushi glistened and was the most freshest, tender buttery smooth. My favorites were the udon made with scallop, the prime grade O-toro with caviar topping, velvety smooth chawanmushi, tofu with truffle shavings, fried crab cake with cream "bubble" . Although I'm not a fan of uni, my dining partners said it was the absolute high-end grade from Hokkaido. They also have a big selection of sake. The special omakase meal is $170 per person and you're served about 15 dishes, plus an amuse bouche and dessert. You can also supplement by adding additional sushi pieces but you really don't have to because the entire experience was quite fulfilling. Honestly, each piece tasted like it was just captured from the ocean. No fishy or metallic aftertaste like you get in some of the lower end omakase restaurants. High on my list of favorites, I'll be back to Osen whenever I visit Los Angeles.

Spectacular. My partner and I did the bar omakase for his birthday and we were thoroughly impressed. We were quite full after the 8 courses. Quality was great and the flavors an interesting mix. Also the price seemed extremely reasonable at $110. Would definitely come again. Small detail-the sushi chef noticed I was left handed and started placing the sushi at a different angle that made it more natural for me to pick it up.

We came here for my girlfriend's birthday and we had such a good time! It is a very nice and tranquil restaurant that has a serene and warm atmosphere. Service is super welcoming and hospitable, most I've experienced ever at a restaurant! We got the nagatsuki omakase ($140 x 2) together! We didn't expect to be full but we were not only filled all the way but also satisfied with every dish! Everything was very high quality! Highly recommended! Great for all very special occasions! Because it's in silver lake area parking is always going to be tough, but there's a nearby street where there's lots of street parking!

We went here on a Sunday on a whim as we were looking for a good sushi spot, something different than our usual dining places. The omakase was either 100 or 140 for more dishes. I think the standard includes sushi only, for $140 you get some small Japanese dishes with more variety. The service was good and attentive. Omakase was pretty good except for 2 dishes which made it not perfect. For one there was a wagyu beef roll that felt a bit chewy for a5 wagyu beef. Second was some chawanmushi with blue cheese - who puts blue cheese in this? Tasted very pungent and strange. Sushi was pretty good but that is easy to do at many high end sushi places. Ambience was nice, nothing special. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Sunday evening at 6 pm. Omakase was good overall, seemed pretty balanced, but again not perfect for $140. Could have used a couple extra dishes.

I went shortly after they opened, so it was quiet and service was quick. To start I ordered the yellowtail kumquatccio & the A5 wagyu with amaebi. I like how refreshing the yellowtail was with the ponzu and kumquat. The A5 with amaebi is the perfect bite; it's juicy & has so much flavor. I ordered the bluefin spicy tuna hand roll, toro & scallion hand roll, & spicy scallop hand roll. The toro just melts in your mouth and the spicy tuna/spicy scallop has a nice kick to it. The quality of the food was great--fresh ingredients and well-prepared dishes. However, the overall experience felt way too long. We were there for 2.5 hours on Valentine's Day, which was honestly excessive, especially with long gaps between some courses. The portions were small, as expected for omakase, but the pacing made it feel even more drawn out. It was still a unique experience, but the wait times really took away from the enjoyment. Not sure if this was just because of the holiday, but I'd think twice before coming back on a busy night.

    Diana L.

This place is amazing! We've been to the izakaya and thought it was meh, but decided to give the omakase location a try. We originally went for Dine LA menu, but instead went for the regular menu because it just looked too enticing. The appetizers were WOW, not only were they delicious but also very creative. The server would explain every dish to us, the content and how they're made. Ambiance is your typical sushi restaurant vibe. Would definitely come back but will take Uber next time, parking in the area is always problematic.

    Kunous K.

Other than the price tag nothing I should complaint... Everything is top notch, the food, the service, the vibe... If I have to pick something to criticize I would say the uni stir rice is a bit too overwhelming, I don't eat much uni that's why I find it pretty fishy...

I went with a martini and they ask how you like it so I got mine with gin, an olive and a twist. It was made perfectly and it was so good! We ordered 8 oysters from the specials menu (they have it written inside on chalkboard), the plate of frites, smoked trout dip, and a tuna aguachile dish they had on their specials menu. It was a small table but we got everything to fit because they smartly have a holder to lift the tray above the table which helps. Everything looked beautiful when it came out! The oysters were great, salty but not overly briney. The smoked trout dip with the roe on top was delicious, the buttery ritz crackers pair with it so nicely. I would get that again for sure. The aguachile was good as well, it had quite the kick to it too. And honestly fries are fries, yes, but these fries were maybe some of the best ones I've ever had. The tuna aguachile was bright and refreshing, the Sicilian crudo let the quality of the fish shine, the smoked trout dip (a repeat because it's so good) was creamy and smoky and was paired with crackers, and the scallop tostada was fresh and beautifully balanced. The two dishes that keep bringing me back, though, are the chowdaaa and the lobster bisque roll. As someone who grew up in New England, I'm pretty picky about my lobster rolls, and this one absolutely holds its own here on the West Coast. The clam chowder is another must-order. I don't care if it's the middle of summer during a heatwave--if it's delicious, it's delicious. The fried cod sandwich was satisfying and straightforward, and even the frites were addictive enough that I kept reaching for more. We skipped dessert this time because we were stuffed, but I've had the key-lime pie before and highly recommend saving room for it if you can do it. What I appreciate most about Found Oyster is its consistency. Every single time, the food has been outstanding, the service has always been friendly, and it's a place I genuinely look forward to returning to. If you're a seafood fan, this one absolutely deserves a visit. Street parking can be tough so plan accordingly. They do walk-ins but I'd recommend making a reservation, especially if more than 2 of you are going. Inside seating and bar seating are available but for larger groups, they'll seat you out on the patio.

Cousins Francisco Aguilar and Alexis Chacon relocated from Oaxaca to open this mobile mariscos operation. But Simon's seafood-forward menu is innovative and sophisticated, seemingly more at home in a sit-downery than a mobile food cart. Unsurprisingly, Simon has been lauded by news outlets and food critics abound. I've been dying to try Simon, but the limited and often unpredictable hours have kept me from it for months. My partner and I visited for a late weekend lunch and ordered immediately. We opted for 2 tacos (the Soft Shelled Crab and the Baja-style Fish) and a Large Aguachile Negro, and our made-to-order meal was prepared within a few minutes. Between the tacos, the crab was a clear winner. The crispy, whole crab was well-complemented by the fresh pineapple salsa and the rich chipotle crema. In stark contrast, the Baja-style fried fish was one-dimensional in flavor and ran on the soggy side, owing to the watery pickled cabbage slaw. But not even the crab taco could compete with the stellar aguachile. We couldn't get enough of the marinade's rich blend of acidity and smokiness, which overshadowed even the generous helping of fresh shrimp. Simon's complimentary salsa lineup also exceeded expectations. We most enjoyed the earthy salsa macha and the smooth, creamy salsa verde, but the tangy salsa Simon -- the truck's take on taco sauce -- was no slouch, either. Our bill totaled just over $30, and the meal felt reasonably priced and appropriately filling. While the tacos didn't knock my socks off, the aguachile certainly did -- I can't wait to return to try some of Simon's other varieties.

At least not for me. If this was a sit down spot I think I would have enjoyed it much more, but trying to eat seafood with a plastic fork on the side of the road just doesn't do it for me.
