As a lactose intolerant person, I fell off my seat nervously popping lactaid but as a cheese lover I wanted all the cheese they put on the dishes! The spicy wings are SPICY, to the point that my initially unimpressed dad coughed and wanted water haha! We ordered 12 wings, 6 umami soy and 6 sweet spicy, and topokki w/ ramen. The wings took a while (as do most Korean fried chicken restaurants) but they came out hot, crispy, and much larger than I expected. There was plenty of meat on each wing and drumstick! The topokki was pretty standard. A bit sweeter than I would have liked but I'm not someone who handles spice very well and it wasn't spicy at all. I almost wish it was a bit spicier! Another KFC *Korean Fried Crack* joint. I have bookmarked this place for the longest time ever since opening and finally had the chance to come here with fellow foodie friends for a birthday. We pretty much took over the section on the right that accommodated our part of 14. For Happy Hour, we pretty much ordered every one of their wing flavors. From worst to best, it was: Garlic Parm, Naked, Hot and Spicy (it's just Naked plus spicy dust), Sweet and Spicy (very saucy) , Crispy, Umami Soy. The wings came in odd sizes, and so did the half order of chicken. But flavor wise, the half order of chicken seemed to taste better so I highly recommend getting that instead of the wings. As for their beer portfolio, it's AB-In Bev but the Elysian Space Dust for $5 during HH I will take anytime. Their fries here are crisp and their slaw here is garlicky and slightly spicy. Totally dig both. Their best dish, however, would be their kimchi fried rice. ($13). Comes in a stone pot and topped with egg and cheese and sprinkled in corn. I've been to a few other Korean restaurants with these cheese/corn dishes they don't come close to as delicious as this place here. Service is good here. They check up on your from time to time. I do wish they would have paper towels instead of little napkins and bigger plates instead of those little sauce bowls. Also wished the waste bucket would be bigger. My family and I came here after multiple recommendations from a friend, who seems to take his fried chicken as seriously as my husband does. We came for an earlier dinner so the place was rather empty at the time. The place looks very unassuming, but the food was so delicious! Everything came out piping hot, and the chicken was so moist/tender, while the breading was so crisp. The french fries were also yummy; my mom couldn't stop eating them. The complimentary radish tasted a bit watered down, as if they had been washed prior to being served (which is odd because it is a pickled dish), but the salad and dressing was good. We ordered a crispy whole chicken and an order of soy garlic wings. The crispy whole chicken was so moist, even the parts that are usually dry like the breast. The soy garlic was nice too, retaining its crisp although they are saucy wings. The only downside was the sweet spicy sauce we ordered on the side. Came to this place on a Tuesday with a friend from out of town came to visit. We decided to try out this HOT and NEW spot. It was pretty much empty at the time we went in (around 4pm). Glad we got in during the Happy Hour period. After check-in for a free drink, we ordered from the Happy Hour Menu the 12 pieces wings ($9), French Fries ($4), and a Kimchi Fried Rice ($13) from the House Special section on the menu. For the wings, my friend and I agreed to try two different sauce so we did half and half, Umami Soy and Garlic Parmesan. The wings were okay.....I tried one of each and cannot even finish the Garlic Parmesan one. It had too much of the Parmesan and the wings were small too and I tasted more of the Parmesan and I am not a fan of that flavor. I really like their simple cabbage salad and pickled radish. I love fried rice and I really like their Kimchi Fried Rice, but it was a bit salty for my taste. Overall, customer service was good and attentive. I had to write an updated review because during COVID, this place has been my go to for Korean fried chicken. We cannot get over how delicious and crunchy the chicken is, even after a 25 minute car ride!! I always get the umami soy and the sweet/spicy flavors and they seriously never disappoint. This is hands down our favorite Korean chicken & we have tried so many places. Their sauce is so good and the chicken is always crisp. I drive from Cerritos to Torrance with it and it still says crispy. It's never dry. Their B21 fries are always a hit but their ddukbokki isn't the best. Get the make at home from the market! It's cheaper and tastes better. Their ddukbokki tastes a little processed/fake (it's hard to explain). But I had to give them 5 stars because their chicken is always so dang delicious. read more

Anyway before my girl beat the f*** out of me.... the food is delicious :) I order their BipDap (hopefully.. thats the right word, just look it up.. you won't miss it lol) beef with kimchi fried rice and fried sunny side up egg on top. I would describe this as late night hangover food. The beef is tender and flavorful. The kimchi rice is the best part of the dish; you can taste the kimchi in it, but not overpowering that you can taste other ingredients around it. The fried sunny side up egg is an extra sauce. I really enjoyed it a lot! Although, it is pricey $12 in a way for just a bowl.. it did fill me up in a good way :) Overall, not a bad choice if you're around the area. When we arrived there were only a couple other parties and they weren't busy at all. We ordered 12 wings (umami soy & sweet spicy) and the beef bulgogi kbbq platter. They gave us a glass bottle of water and 2 cups, but it wasn't chilled so we only had one cup. The beef bulgogi platter came out first. We upgraded to kimchi fried rice for $1. The rice was really good and had a lot of flavor. The bulgogi tasted good too but the portion felt small. It only took up 1/4 of the plate. The food should've been served together, but the wings came out maybe 20 minutes after the bulgogi. I also didn't get my drink until the wings came out, and was told it was forgotten. For being one of their selling items, the wings weren't that great. They were crispy and the flavor was okay, but nothing was special or stood out about them. After eating, it tooks a while to flag someone down to get the check. After getting the check, we waited again while the workers stood by the counter chatting. After 5 or so minutes, I got tired of waiting and walked up myself to pay the check. They're friendly and I understand they are new and still getting the hang of things, but they have a long way to go in terms of customer service. read more

On this plaza, it used to be exclusively an old mom & pop shops where tailors & flower shops are all over the place at this part of the street. Somewhat of a Main Street in Artesia if you get what I mean. I was pleased to see a beer and chicken shop open up in this portion of the town. The speciality here is setting up a fried chicken/wings place partnering up with some cold brew to give young professionals a place for those deep fried savory bites. There are some Korean speciality dishes like rice cakes, corn & cheese, and some Korean branded beverage, it can give people an impression of a Korean chicken place. The Unami soy sauce is perfect for the wings. If you go with spicy fried chicken, it's another winner as well. The craze with fried chicken sandwich is all over the place right now. I gave it a solid 8 as the slaw and nice artisan bun make it a doable option. Seriously, it's a good late night option as well. There's another so called gastropub around the corner from here. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the chibap. Spicy Chicken Sandwich ($7) - This was a lot bigger than I was expecting. For the price, you definitely get your moneys worth and it was delicious! I love that they put pickled veggies in it to cool down the heat from the chicken but to be honest it wasn't that spicy (not to me anyways). But overall the flavors went well together and the chicken was friend well. Nice crispy to it. I would order this again Chibap ($8) Fried chicken rice bowl. The portion looked a little small when it came out based on the price. We thought it would be a little bigger but aside from that it was good. Chicken had a good crisp to it. The flavors mixed well. The serving size is enormous!!! We totally underestimated the portion sizes (and I saw other tables over-ordered too). B21 Fries ($15): Fries, bulgogi, plenty of jalapenos, cheesy layer, onions, and garlic sauce. I asked to switch the normal fries to sweet potato and they were able to and charged an additional $1 ( = $16). This was spicy and savory. The garlic sauce is mildly garlic, not super potent. half/half Chicken ($20): this is 2 plates of friend chicken, but you get to choose 2 different flavors. We got one plate sweet and spicy, and the other plate was umami soy. I really liked the umami soy over the sweet and spicy. They came out so fresh, right out of the fryer. Seafood Pancake ($15): big plate of pancake! The seafood is actually visible and distinguishable. I saw shrimp, octopus, and squid. This was really good and it is so nice to see real ingredients inside. +complimentary salad is served while you wait for your order. The mayo based dressing comes on heavy. You can ask for more if you finish the first plate! The second time around, we asked for less dressing which made it way better --SERVICE-- great service. What a friendly and helpful staff. I loved seeing a mix of Korean and non-Korean people working at this establishment. --SEATING-- booth seating throughout the entire restaurant. I've seen Bunker 21 so many times, but never really tried it. It's great if you want chicken and soju! My two friends and I came on a Thursday night and it was busy. Every meal comes with white pickled radish and a side of cabbages with dressing. The service was good and food came out fast. Fried Chicken ($13) - You get 12 pieces of Korean Fried Chicken and we choose Unami Soy for our flavor. Their chicken was marinated in a nice saucy soy flavor that wasn't too sweet or bland. Wings were decent sized pieces and came in a variety. The batter was crunchy and the meat was juicy. I recommend the Unami Soy fried chicken. Kimchi Fried Rice ($14) - It's served with corn cheese on a hot stone bowl. This is one of the best Kimchi Fried Rice I've had! Being on a hot stone, it kept the rice very warm and the corn cheese was the perfect touch! I love how they give you so much cheese on top. It comes with a sunny side egg and some pickled onions. Every spoonful was just an explosion of flavor. Goes well with chicken! The food was great and I couldn't help but keep eating more. So far, the Unami Soy and Kimchi Fried Rice are my favorite. Last night we played Yelp roulette and ended up with Bunker21. Reviews and pictures were promising so why not. We've been to plenty of Korean fried chicken spots all over OC and even in Seoul. So our judgement might be a little on the pickier side. (Side note: For those who don't aren't familiar, these spots are kinda like Korean versions of BWWs. ) Lemme first say, Bunker21 your cabbage salad dressing is amazing. Even though this typically a free salad, I would for sure pay for it. Onto the food. We ordered the 12 piece wings in umami soy and garlic Parmesan. We also ordered the corn cheese kimchi fried rice (sounds great right...) Fried rice: Who doesn't love corn covered in melted cheese with fried rice in the middle. Well, it was good for the first few bites but then the saltness took over. Umami wings: Suggested by the server as their most popular flavor. We however thought it was just normal soy flavor nothing impressing but not bad. Garlic Parm wings: Looked amazing and first wing was good. Then it became just too much. As they say, "That KFC, though!" Who doesn't enjoy good wings? The Umami Soy was on point! They had excellent flavour factor, crispy skin, and steam wisping toward your face with each bite! We both weren't big fans of the Sweet Spicy and wished we had just gotten spicy instead. They were definitely more sweet than spicy. They weren't bad; they just weren't as good as the Umami Soy wings. The Kim Chi Fried Rice was highly recommended, and we quickly understood why. It certainly is an experience to see the stone bowl come out with sizzling, steaming rice, cheese, corn, and onions. There is a serious layer of cheese on top! Our server, mixed it up for us, which was a smart move for both taste and ease of scooping. It was a little mesmerizing to watch her work her magic with the 2 spoons, seeing this rice dish come together in a nice presentation. I am not a cheese guy, and I was really enjoying the Kim Chi Fried Rice throughout dinner. The corn and onions added some sweetness to balance the salty. We made reservations on a Friday night, which was completely unnecessary. We were there chatting from before 6 until after 10, and the place never filled up. Regardless, the staff was amazing, perfectly attentive and friendly! This place can be easy to miss, though. It is located in the corner of a small strip mall in Artesia. Strongly strongly recommend the Kimchi fried rice, they prepare it with corn cheese and a sunny side up egg. It tasted amazing and was big enough to share. The price is extremely reasonable and the portions are generous. The texture and taste of all the food was amazing, but there wasn't anything that was creative/innovative. I also got the wings and I recommend the Umami Soy sauce, it was great, and the wings were cooked to perfection. Also got the pork bap which was one of the best rice bowls Ive had.
