this is such a cute spot to have an intimate dinner, the place is small but comfy and doesn't feel confined. the service was fast and very accommodating. the food was delicious and they have escargot upon request. they also have a choice of soup of the day or salad included with your meal. frutti di mare - 10/10 i also asked for no shrimp because im allergic and they gave me more of the scallops and clams salsicce - 8.5/10 was very good but my boyfriend would have preferred more peas for a mix of texture but everything else was really good bruschetta - 10/10 best appetizer it has the perfect balance of freshness and tang definitely recommend getting this !!! escargot - 8.5/10 order mainly because of the nostalgia, i haven't had escargot since i went to france and this one was good but i prefer it to have have a stronger butter/garlic taste and to be in shell, still really good and worth trying soup of the day (cream of spinach) - 9/10 my boyfriend likes cream soups on the thicker side but this was the perfect consistency, this was light and well blended and paired well with the rest of the meal. house salad - 9/10 i really liked this salad the dressing was pretty unique and had tartness that i enjoyed, i do think the lettuce could have been crunchier (was still fresh but they provided more leaves as opposed to the harder center parts) overall very good and we would definitely come back. decently well priced as well, maybe on the pricier but it seems very authentic and not franchise quality. for this meal we spent $112 and left feeling the perfect amount of full and very satisfied with our dining choice :) read more

That said, when I tell you this was some of the best pasta I've ever had, I truly mean it! As someone with a gluten allergy, I ordered the Michelangelo with gluten-free penne, and it was hands down some of the best gluten-free pasta I've ever tasted. My boyfriend went with the Parmigiano, and he couldn't stop raving about it--the breading on the chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Food is Northern Italian, and very good! Menu selection is nicely varied, especially when you consider their diminutive size. The dessert tray should not be overlooked either! They have an excellent selection of wine . This is consistently ranked first in surveys of local favorite spots! They do a robust take out business, so if you don't want to wait in line, order out. I am speechless y'all. This is legitimately some of the best food, service, and ambiance I've ever experienced. We were blown away by the simple, fresh flavors of each course. The staff members were kind, and the restaurant itself is precious. Because of the limited seating, the staff provides a special experience to each table. The meal starts with fresh bread served to each guest. We also ordered bruschetta for the table, and it was delicious! I chose to start with salad and ordered the Checca for my main course. I can't express how phenomenal the flavors were in both the salad and pasta. The whole family was just as happy with their choices! We finished off the meal by splitting tiramisu and limoncello mascarpone cake. Both were absolutely top notch, and the perfect way to polish off such a good meal. The food is fantastic and worth the calories. Entrees come with Soup du Jour ( lentil vegetable) or green salad, along with complimentary bread and butter service. Veal Parm classically correct, tender and delicious served with buttered parm penne and green beans. Chicken Marsala was delicious and well balanced. Seafood linguini(shrimp , clams and scallops in pink light cream sauce) delicious well. We finished it off with a delicious slice of limoncello and white chocolate cake. Delish as well. Third year in a row that I have gone to this restaurant during my vacation to California, and again it was amazing. Each year I get something different and I always get great service. This year's menu choice was Michaelangello. So delicious and enough food for leftovers the following day. The fresh roll is the size of a baked potato and the salad is fresh and crisp. I ordered linguine and clams and I had to add a LOT of salt and grated Parmesan to give flavor to the dish. Once I added the extra condiments, it was perfecto! My husband ordered lemon piccata and he said it was good and he'd order it again. I tend to get the Penne Russa which has a vodka sauce, and it hits the spot when I want warm, cheesy, creamy carbs. AMBIENCE: It's a hole-in-the wall restaurant with a small array of tables meant for 2-4 (I wouldn't come here with large groups, it just doesn't have the capacity). You can see the kitchen from the dining area, as it's all fluid. It's not fancy, it's cozy. It's meant to feel like you're in someone's home. Great for date nights. I actually tend to go solo, and I find it a comforting solo spot to read over dinner without feeling awkward. Street parking, or walk if you live within Belmont. SERVICE: Great.
