This was my first time eating Peruvian food so I don't have any experience to base my review off of, but let me tell you. This place is SO GOOD. The tallarin verde with the beef was so creamy and delicious! I don't even know how to describe the sauce but it's kind of like pesto pasta but BETTER. The meat had a smokey taste from the grill and was so soft and tender. I was in heaven. We also got the lomo saltado with shrimp instead of beef. Something about rice and potatoes and that sauce is just so good. The shrimp absorbed all the seasoning and was a burst of flavor. The potatoes are slightly crunchy but also slightly soft from the sauce. Lastly, we got beef empanadas and they are a must! The outside is crunchy and flaky, the inside is filled with ground beef that practically melts in your mouth. All in all, highly recommend the tallarin verde, that was my favorite dish out of the three. Honestly, just get everything. I doubt anything can be bad here with the experience that I had! The workers were nice and accommodating and the food was really good. I'm definitely coming back. read more

I'm a fan of this newish place. Sitting on the patio on a warm yet breezy afternoon was fantastic. The green sauce that all Peruvians know about (and that I love) was incredible here. I use that on everything, especially with the Lomo Saltado I ordered. Everything was incredible. The sauce used on the Lomo Saltado was amazing, and the fries, onions, etc were delishhhh. Even the bread rolls with butter were very tasty. I'd 100% come back here sometime soon. It is located in a random area, but all the more to them to bring good business! Had dinner here a few nights ago and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the empanada and the saltado and everything was seasoned well and tasted fresh. The waiter was super attentive. Very disappointing based on other very positive reviews. We ordered seafood dishes so maybe the chicken and beef meals were better. First, in ceviche 100% fresh is needed for all ingredients. Nope--rubber octopus and poopy shellfish. We sent it back and got a lecture from the chef because we returned after having eaten some of it. Not sure how you can ascertain a rotten dish without tasting it, but I guess it's different at this place. They did end of refunding the ceviche. The bread was clearly warmed in a microwave. The shellfish rice dish had the same seafood issues as the ceviche. I barely tasted it after the argument with the "chef". My husband is Peruvian so we know good from bad. I wouldn't come to Cass Chaskis for good Peruvian food. read more

Best pollo saltado I have ever had!!! I've lost count of how many times I have eaten from here and they never fail to always deliver the same delicious taste. My boyfriend loves to eat the Saltado de Vegetales because he's vegan and he loves it just as much as I do! I think one of the best parts of Casa Chaskis is that they have their own garden that they get their vegetables from. 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend. read more

This place is soooo good! Had the lomo saltado, which was seasoned perfectly. Also had a nice, refreshing Inca Cola. The service was great, too, even though we got there about 40 minutes before closing, the servers treated us well and were attentive. Food is amazing here! It remains me to a home made meal , and they are quick with great service. The chef grows some of the ingredients on his backyard. My recommendation is to try the beef empanadas with the GREEN SAUCE, and the Lomo Saltado. read more

Amazing restaurant, food is very authentic. I've been there 5/6 times in the last month, the place has yet to miss. If you're vegetarian/vegan this is by far the best Peruvian restaurant I've found in LA. They have a couple more options than most other Peruvian restaurants including their empanadas and chaufa de tofu. I also took my family there for my moms birthday. Everyone ordered a different plate ranging from ceviche, seco de Cordero, lomo saltado, and a couple of other plates. Everyone was extremely happy with the food! Bottom line: food is amazing, the place feels very homey as they are still growing(ie getting an alcohol license to sell, etc.) ; also it's pretty cool how they have a garden they use to grow some of the food they sell. read more

I came across this place after my fave LBC food blogger posted about it. I've worked down the street from here for several years without realizing it was a restaurant. Plenty of parking. Patio and indoor dining! The food was better than a lot of higher end Peruvian places I've been to. There's plenty of options for all price points. Even a few vegetarian options! I got the green pasta with steak and it was everything! Large portions so that I had enough for dinner and it reheated well! I didn't see a cocktail menu but there are beer and wine options. We stopped in for lunch today and WOW! My boyfriend is Peruvian and his comfort food is definitely some lomo saltado. Really really good. The green sauce is unbelievable. Ceviche is beautiful and the ingredients are separated so you can customize each bite. The vibes are great inside and out. So impressed by this little restaurant. Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside it is cute and has flair. The menu is standard Peruvian offerings but I will say I was surprised that all the food we got was on point and service was excellent. This place is pretty fantastic. The interesting thing is, in every respect other than food quality, it really looks like the sort of place I'd expect to pay 8-10 bucks, rather than 13-20, for an entree - it's nice, but it's by no means *fancy*, more "homey", and of course, a pretty weird location. So given that, and given it *is* fairly pricey (for obvious reasons, I'm more particular the more I'm paying), I was really interested to see whether it would really be worth the price. Answer: yes, it definitely is. I've eaten a decent amount of Peruvian food, so I definitely have a basis of comparison when I say this was some of the best I've had. I shared (with my wife) a lomo saltado (super flavorful - with extremely tender, flavorful beef), as well as one of their seafood stews (also delicious) - and the portions are also quite large. The aji sauce, by the way, was probably the greenest, freshest aji sauce I've tasted, which makes sense, since apparently the herbs were grown in their little garden right next door, heck yeah! And the drink prices ($5 and nonalcoholic) are a little off-putting, but they're all made fresh in-house, and also, enormous (I shared one glass of chicha morada with my wife - unsurprisingly, delicious, but surprisingly, we didn't fight over it, there was enough for two people.) Service was super friendly from start to finish - they were especially helpful when it came to ordering, since, while I've had Peruvian food a number of times, I think most Peruvian places I've been to just had the same handful of "top hits", because I didn't know what half the menu meant. Our server was extremely helpful and patient in that regard (but also all the rest of the time.) Totally recommended, and I will definitely be back. (Though next time I'm going to call ahead and see whether they have aji de gallina, my one complaint - that's my favorite Peruvian dish, and I really want to try theirs, but it's not on their regular menu, they only have it sometimes as a special, and they didn't have it when I was there. I came to this spot because it looked reasonably Priced and upon first glance had good reviews. Upon further inspection a lot of their review honestly look curated and that's disappointing. The first red flag I got was when all of the food items under "fish" "carne" and "pollo" were exactly the same menu items and the only thing that changed was the meat. I ordered the lomo saltado, marisco mixto, and spicy papa y pollo. The spicy papa y pollo was decent, but what really threw me off was the lomo saltado, im usually immediately wowed by Peruvian food but this was so underwhelming. Almost none of that usual flavor. Also the green sauce tasted like mayonnaise and that's what really ruined the dish for me. The mariscos were fresh and lemony but I had to add salt and pepper. Would not return. read more
