This is has gone down big time. Takeout order was simply horrible - literally threw the burritos in the yard waste. The so called bag of chips had no more than 4 chips. This was an order for 4 people. Just 2 micro salsa containers? Total waste of money and time. Never going there again. This place is the bomb! I just got my lunch to go from here and the food is so delicious. The pico de gallo is so authentic and spicy, the chips are delish... and they were able to accommodate making me a salad without the shell. Plus, I got a little taco on the side for a buck. HELLO!? I've come here plenty of times and have always been satisfied with the food. Nothing like an ice cold coke in a glass bottle, which i love that they sell them. Unfortunately, there has been 2 occasions that the coke was not in the bag. I caught it once before, but I went there this past weekend and it was not included in my bag when i got home. This place is Legit. I have nothing bad to say about it yet. Have been 3 times and each time walked out saying this is one of the best taquerias we have been to. We have been to 100's. The chili verde is tangy with a very nice heat. Tender. Very little fat. Good portion. You will not be disappointed! Good fresh salsa. Wow, my new favorite taqueria! I haven't found ANY to compete with some of the legit ones in the valley, but Cocina redefines what is amazing Mexican food! Love, love their al pastor! The meat is perfectly tender, well seasoned and shines with hints of pineapple! I'm not sure how they can make the food so tasty without being greasy or dripping with juices - As such, the burritos don't fall apart and keep so well, it tastes amazing reheated later! The final markers are the salsas - I NEVER can find any offered that are actually tasty and truly spicy. When they say 'spicy' and 'very spicy' - they absolutes are and so good that I have a chip buffet with them! Super friendly service, even offered to roast peppers upon request. I don't need to look any further for a taqueria. Cocina Mexico is IT. read more

I knew the food was not going to be good, as soon as I walked in. How??? There were no Mexican customers. I think the food was very bland. I've tasted better enchilada sauce that came from a can. The rice was awful. It reminded me of Rice-A-Roni. The only great thing we tried, was the guacamole sauce. We poured this on top of the nachos, and that gave them the flavor they lacked. The service was good also. I have to agree with other Yelpers, Taco Bell is better and cheaper! Bottom line, if you expect authentic Mexican food, go somewhere else. read more

The best taqueria in the Tri-Valley and East Bay! I love their super carne asada burrito. You could taste all the freshness in all their meals. And the guacamole is real none of that processed stuff. The only thing I wish is that they still had their salsa bar. I love the radishes and the variety of the different Salsas that you could scoop. They have some in bottles but I think a bar is totally better. Try their green sauce! So so so good! The gentleman who is there a lot I'm not sure if he's the owner or manager or just an employee he is really nice as well too. You don't want to miss out on this place. read more

I go to this little Cocina a few times a week and just love it. The food is healthy, the people that work here are friendly and the service is great. I work a few doors down and stop in here for an enchilada or taco or delicious chicken soup when the weather is cold. I just had a taco and enchilada a la carte for $6. I like not needing to order a big pile of food at lunch time. Highly highly recommend. Nice outdoor patio for all of our sunny days too. read more

This was my second time that I have been to Cocina Mexico and I must say both times I have received terrible customer service. I have worked in customer service for a long time and I understand that people have bad days, but upon receiving the same bad service from the same woman they have lost my business. The food is good, but not exceptional. What sets this place apart is that the woman who took our order made it seem as though we were 1. Wasting her time while deciding what to order (with no one else in line) 2. Stared us down as we ate some chips waiting for our food. Even when we walked out she gave a discussing looks at my family and I. I love supporting local business and their food is good enough for me to return, but it is truly unfortunate that they have a poor character as the face of their company. I'm writing on behalf of my husband who recently learned about Cocina Mexico through a friend of his in regards to having the best veggie burrito's. I requested, Super Burrito with chicken however I was saddened to learn Cocina Mexico didn't carry Chile Rellano's, which is like my favorite Mexican dish. As for my Super burrito chicken, it was alright. I will update my review next time I visit in person and try out their Enchilada's and Taco's. read more
