My only complaint (why not start there?) is that on a Friday afternoon finding a table was difficult. It's clearly a popular place for people to come for coffee/lunch/meetings/working all day and no one is quick to leave their tables and booths once there. It is not a mystery why - Easy Tiger has comfortable indoor and outdoor seating in a spacious, relatively quiet, and calm atmosphere that makes for the perfect spot to work and come for a meeting. Food options are also enticing, we split a giant pretzel, which came with house mustard, salted butter, and beer cheese as well as a Prince Cake. Others ordered the Vegan Quinoa Bowl and the BLT sandwich. All dishes were high quality with fresh ingredients. What a gem on South Lamar! There are some business that have survived the pandemic, some that have folded, but there are very few that have creatively embraced it. Easy Tiger has gone beyond that where they started the business during the pandemic and built something absolutely majestic. Drinks - Ofcourse the beer selection is amazing but the best part is that there is something for everyone. They have a great selection of wine and some really cool cocktails. Food - This was a pleasant surprise. This place has really gone downhill. We arrive and we have to order inside because they don't take orders at the outside tables across the street anymore. This was difficult with the kids. One kid HAD to go to the playground immediately, so we decide to split up. This made it hard to see the menu and organize our order. My husband orders me a cheeseburger and the other food. He pays 18% tip (the lowest option given). When my cheeseburger comes out, it has no cheese. The waitress just says "I'll bring you some cheese." Really? I've never had someone get my order wrong and not offer to fix it in the kitchen. I said fine and ate the cold burger with cold cheese (no fries included) for $16 or $17. Easy Tiger has a warm special place in my heart. When their 6th street location closed I was so sad, but then like gremlins overnight they multiplied in the best of ways. Having an east austin, and south austin offering and more is such a boon. We love their snacking/grazing boards. What millennial wouldn't? They're basically adult lunchables. Meats and cheeses and nuts and jams, oh my. The pretzels and beer cheese are also legendary. But so much so that they sadly often run out of pretzels like they did for us the other day. The person at register was having a little difficulty (he said it was his second day), when I got my order (to go) I was checking to verify and I didn't have an item. My friend got hers within 15 minutes, so she was almost done by the time I got mine. I really disliked the restroom set-up. Be ready to share the restrooms with all genders. I drove thirty minutes here to check out the kids play area and the experience of eating and hanging out here did not disappoint! First off, I love how you sit, order on your phone and the servers bring stuff out. Super efficient and felt safe during these COVID times. Second, the outdoor seating is spacious and has a great view of the kids play area so you can keep an eye on them while you eat and drink. Thirdly, the food is delicious! We stopped by on a lazy Sunday to unwind and check out the place since I've always wanted to stop by. I'm glad we did! I really like the whole look of the restaurant (even though parts of it were under construction). We had a few drinks and really liked them. We decided to snack a bit and ordered the pretzel. This has been added to my go-to spot list (in good weather). Located on S Lamar. Easy parking. Easy to find. Went with a friend for brunch on New Years Day and we were both wowed by the food. They put their fresh bakery/bread items to great use on their menu. We shared the French Toast bites to start. What a treat. These were perfectly made, easy to share and DELICIOUS. For my meal I chose the breakfast sandwich with bacon egg and cheese. It was on their fresh bread, omg. So good. I'm almost drooling remembering this sandwich. We had coffees, I had. Cappuccino and it was perfect. They do have mimosas available. Cons: It was cold when we went and the space heaters weren't great at keeping us warm. This easy tiger is the bees knees. By that, i mean, it is super cool with a lot of outdoor space AND there are literally honey bees flying around, everywhere. (Not hating on it, bc bees are great for the environment!) We came to easy tiger after hanging out at Zilker with our dog and the decided to grab brunch at the easy tiger park. Our server (Zach) was so nice and immediately brought our dog Arya a water bowl. (BRB, crying from how thoughtful he was!) At easy tiger, you can choose your own table and then order your food via your phone online. I ended up getting the croque madam, and a pecan pie cold brew. My partner got a beer, cheese burger and fries. We also split a large pretzel. Everything was so good! The day was a perfect day. The weather was great, the atmosphere was lovely and the food and drinks delicious. I like this new south Lamar location a lot more than the DT one - it's a bit of a chiller, slower vibe. This review is really solely based on the ordering system. The illusion that you're actually able to order via your phone is mad irritating. While the atmosphere is great, good is decent, the frustration with the useless mobile ordering just sucks. Adds unnecessary work and confusion for patrons and more stress on staff. 0/10 would recommend. My husband and I grabbed lunch on April 1st. The ordering system was annoying and complicated. We ended up sitting there not knowing whether or not our order went through... we had to get our own water, silverware, and napkins. No servers or staff walking by to check on you. The food was very disappointing....I ordered a veggie burger sandwich and couldn't eat it because they didn't take the plastic off the cheese. I am very disappointed in easy tiger and will not be coming back. They need a wait staff or at least a system where you order when you walk in and grab a number and take a seat. I ordered to go. I should have known better when the website said they don't have curbside set up, but they said they're accepting to go orders when I called. I've been to Easy Tiger down on 6th Street for years now. I used to be a fan. Something has been changing in the past two years and it's not been as good. It's still a local shop and I was excited to see them take over Red's on South Lamar. We'll give them a try because they are close to our destination. The menu never had much more than sausage and sandwiches, but it's been pared down from what they used to offer. I have been unimpressed with the pastrami the past few times downtown, so tonight I went for the Italian. It seems to be their silent homage to the muffuletta no longer on the menu. The menu listing is everything you would expect from an Italian sandwich. I asked for the vinegar on the side because I didn't want the sandwich to be soggy when we got home. My wife ordered one too. We got the BLT for my daughter. Potato and pasta salad to split, and added their house salad for some extra greens. Ordering over the phone was easy enough, except they were out of the turkey club (so we picked BLT) and pretzels by 7:30. Oh well. That was a $61 tab. I thought, this better be pretty good. I let the lady taking our order know we were going to be traveling with this, so hopefully the hot sandwiches wouldn't be baking their lettuce, etc. She acted like she understood. 15 - 20 minutes. Roughly 20 minutes later the food was out and we were ready to roll. I double checked the bag. Nothing was labeled, so I counted containers. We're one short. I go back to the window and as I come up, here comes someone with my pasta salad. Glad I checked. By the time we got home, I had a strong scent of vinaigrette coming from the back floorboard because the dressing I asked for on the side was in an open cup in the sandwich box. They must not have put much in the cup because fortunately the bottom of the bread was as crisp as a cracker when I ate it (I'm not saying that like it's a good thing). For being a bakery, the bread was boring and not very good. An Original from Schlotzsky's is better. The BLT isn't worth mentioning. Enough of what was wrong. The potato salad was refreshingly different. The pasta salad was super tasty. The house salad was the best thing we got. If I wasn't worried about breathing everyone else's air, I'm sure this is an awesome place to sit outside and drink a beer. Solid choice for a beer garden. It's a bit off of the main street which makes it quieter, but it seems like they could have switched the building / beer garden with their parking lot and offered their guest a view too. Either ways, came here on a good weather Sunday and waited for around 30 mins which is OK, plenty of open seats but I suppose they were careful with Covid. Service itself was also a bit slow - you order via a QR code and your own phone, but the food itself took a bit to come out. We had a large pretzel, Bratwurst and a turkey sandwich. The pretzel was great, warm and soft. Sandwich was also good, with a nice brie, very filling. Could have had a bit more of a side with it than the couple of salad leaves. The bratwurst was also decent. We saw lots of people walking out with baguettes and the likes, so supposedly those are good and worth a try. Happy day! Easy tiger on South Lamarr just opened up (@ old red's porch.) Today was opening day, they are opening in phases. It was vibe central With everyone in good spirits enjoying the first 70° sunny day of fall. We ordered a large pretzel and kielbasa sausage with the watermelon salad. They are definitely still working out some kinks. Our pretzel was not Hot, and had to wait a while for water. But given it's the opening day I know they'll be running smooth here soon. If you have never been you can expect an amazing selection of beer, out of this world pastries, delicious sausage, and amazing coffee and tea. This location has their expanded menu- which I can't wait to try the burger Their sandwiches are the bomb day. My favorite is the pastrami, don't be afraid to go double meat! This place was a real surprise. A bakery, restaurant and family friendly bar with a dog park, event venue and great view of the Greenbelt. Menu was good, nothing really spectacular but all of it good and prepared fresh. Staff was friendly and service was good. This place is going downhill fast, which is such a bummer since it was one of my favorite spots when I first started visiting Austin (like 2 times in a week favorite). The food is good, but the service is consistently SO bad (generally blah hospitality from servers & hosts, waiting forever to even take our order, forgetting to put in parts of said orders, & taking away plates before we're done). That Bengal spice latte must have some sorta spell on me tho cuz I keep coming back despite. However, this last visit was the nail in the coffin. They seated us, told us a server would be right over, & we sat there waiting for over 20min for someone to even make eye contact with us. "Easy Tiger," ... not so easy on my digestion, nor on my pocketbook. What stands for a quality breakfast in Austin these days, is a mountain of breakfast potatoes with one egg at the apex (aka the "breakfast bowl"). If you like to ski you may love it, because there is plenty of grease to slide down. This includes the chicken sausage, which one orders to sidestep all of the bad fats, but good luck with that! Ours was drenched in it. Also, good luck finding anything fresh in that breakfast bowl. They used to include broccoli but now instead include yet more grease, ala grilled peppers and onions. If you want anything fresh you have to pay extra--in our case we ordered some of the now standard overpriced avocado. My partner wanted to sidestep the "mountain" of potatoes and order toast. Good luck with that as well. It's not even possible to order through their QR-code menu. You have to ask one of the service staff to order it, and it comes out--you guessed it--loaded with tons of grease. In this case, it was drenched in beef fat, from whatever had previously been grilled. And then add two (of course) overpriced coffees, and we end up with a bill of over $60... UGH. Where in this poorly-designed breakfast menu (with zero nutritional value) is the concept of pleasing the customer? Just asking. read more

This was a big disappointment. We live pretty close to their central location and have always had a pleasant enough time there but decided to check out this spot for the first time on Sunday morning. They've definitely improved the space from Red's (both iterations of it), and we enjoyed the indoor decor and ended up in a booth (the table was filthy). The outdoor decor is "fun" but benches only, so no luck for you if you need more support for your back--nary a chair to be found! Seating aside, the food was joyless and the breakfast sandwich was a joke. It came out in a wrapper like we were in McDonald's and the bun looked like it was from a Sysco bag--to no one's surprise, it tasted like cardboard. All that can be yours for $11! The chocolate chip cookie we've had before, and it was fine, but the almond croissant was practically burnt and tasted awful. The apricot vanilla scone looked and (tasted) like our four year old made it. Coffees actually come out with those tiny creamers that you get in roadside diners. Tiny creamers for you when you're paying $$$ for coffee!!! LOL! GET REAL!!! Easy Tiger downtown used to be impressive and The Linc one is OK, but this institution--which used to invest in things like quality and service--has just turned into a money-making machine that could care less about your experience or their product. It's so sad. We found the best place in Austin south of the river and we almost don't want to advertise it lest they, too, get bought out by investment ba(n)/(k)er overlords, but if you want amazing breakfast food and a kind smile, then go to Thoroughbread. I visited for the first time for lunch on a Sunday and got seated immediately! We sat outside where even on a hot day, it was bearable with the fans and breeze. The patio seating is spacious and casual, but trendy. Seating is bench/picnic table style. We sat on the first level patio but it looked like the 2nd level would have a nice view! I'm docking a star for the food quality/price ratio. It's pricey for dishes that just didn't leave a memorable mark for me. We tried the classic bratwurst and the smoked salmon shareable plate. The smoked salmon plate I swore said on the menu would come with bread but when it came to the table without it I asked if we could have some and they told us it didn't come with the dish at all. They still gave us a small plate of sourdough and really that was the saving grace because otherwise the entire dish is just smoked salmon, mascarpone, and some pickled veggies which is just not worth ordering. Easy T South Lamar: Used to be a great dependable and convenient option but my recent visit last Friday may have been my last. When I asked the bartender if it was still happy hour his reply was literally, "I don't know what time it is". Several staff just standing around the bar area, no sense of urgency. There is no table service available anymore in the large outdoor grove under the oaks which is fine but my goodness, all the tables were so dirty. We asked for a towel to clean ours off, no one volunteered to assist with this, so we had to wipe down ourselves. The towel was black, like the table had not been cleaned in weeks, not to mention the seats, towel was handed to the bartender and his reply was "gross", that's it. No silverware was provided, the person who brought our food said silverware was "over there" and they were cheap plastic wrappers with napkins like tissues. Food was decent, but definitely not the quality I expected or had been served by Easy Tiger in the past. Drinks were mediocre at best and each cocktail was left with a quarter of the glass unfilled. The bartender seemed clueless on the menu as well as our questions regarding cocktails. Not a good experience and will no longer recommend to friends or guests. Sorry Easy T. read more

The vibes and decor are very nice at this location. They kept the same structure of the restaurant it was before, Reds Porch, which has a cool upper deck with a view. The outdoor bench eating area is nice and spacious. I enjoy getting pastries and their mocha with oat milk. I recommend the chocolate chip cookie for sure! The food is good, but nothing amazing to me, especially not at the price point. Every time I've gone the staff has been friendly and made us aware if they were short staffed. I wouldn't recommend stopping by if you're in a rush and want a fast lunch / dinner though. I got their caramel banana bread last time I was there and it was great! So I traditionally love Easy Tiger and we frequent the North location for happy hour pretty often. We ventured to this South location excited that they have an outdoor space for kids. The good: Beautiful place with indoor and outdoor seating Fenced area for kids to run around Delicious food, beer, coffee The not-so-great: When we arrived, there were a ton of open tables but we were told there was a 30 minute wait to be seated. After roaming around for a while and seeing none of tables were getting used, we asked and were told that they were giving the kitchen a "chance to catch up." I wish they would have let us go ahead and get seated while we waited The prices seem to really be going up. $14 for a pretzel? I mean they're delicious and the cheese sauce is amazing, but I'll probably never order one again if they're the price of an entre. In conclusion, we'll probably be back, but if we have the kids with us, we'd probably only go for happy hour or just coffee and pastries rather than a full meal. Then when the waiter finally came to give us our menus we ordered sprite and she forgot and only gave it to us when we reminded her. One of the waiters was wondering around aimlessly clearly high. And my gf was being pretty annoying which is definitely contributing to this review. We also don't have numbers on the table so the servers don't even know where to come in the first place. The bathroom was extremely unhygienic with a ton of filth and bodily fluids all over the place. The appetizers alone took an hour and the food took longer than that even. The food was mid.
