Good ole diner breakfast food. Cheap, quick and delicious. The family that runs this place are some of the nicest people we met while in SF. The waitress was the sweetest little lady! I had the Denver omelet with hash browns. My fiancé had to sausage omelet with hash browns and a side of French toast. We also had biscuits. The omelets were delicious and the hash browns were cooked to perfection. The biscuits had a sweet taste, kind of like a sweet Hawaiian roll. They came to our table nice and warm. Coffee was good and served in mismatched mugs. Super cute touch. Loved this little place. Looks like it's been part of the SF area for YEARS! Definitely stop in for good ole diner breakfast. Do not recommend this place. They are not flexible. Their portions are huge but they do not allow you to share?? No outside drinks are allowed so if you have a speciality coffee walking into the store you will need to slam it or pay a fee of 5$. Be careful of all the extra fees. You cannot order just a side or a fee of $5. Cash only under $20 or a fee. My son and I got a table for 4 waiting for my wife and daughter to join us after they got a speciality coffee down the street. They asked multiple times in 10 minutes if they were coming. We ordered our large meals knowing they would have a couple of bites. As soon as they walked in they were not allowed to have their coffees and they were not allowed to share. Not sure why they are not flexible in today's economy. 99.9999% of all other restaurants are flexible. The staff was rude because we did not see the "rules" to eat there. Food was just your normal breakfast items. Not worth all the rules you need to follow. If you are a family with kids look elsewhere to eat. read more

Eddie's is my favorite place to get breakfast in the City. We no longer live in the neighborhood but still make a point to get out there frequently. Eddie's draws a fairly diverse mix of people and everything is covered with stickers seen throughout the Haight. It's a family run place and we always get a warm greeting. The hash browns are the star of the show here. Real, homemade, golden brown hash brown--NOT home fries or those bland potato cubes that so many on this site insist on calling hash browns (hint: if the menu lists them as "home fries", hash browns they ain't, folks!). The biscuits are also delicious and I am sure homemade as well. Breakfast all day. The prices are very reasonable (probably between $5-$6 for a good plate of food). It's a fairly small place so I don't know if it is good for groups of more than 4-6. read more

I have been hearing about Eddie's Cafe for some time now, so yesterday 7.15.2017, my lady friend and I decided to have breakfast at Eddie's Cafe and were pleasantly surprised. Granted there was a 15-20 minute wait it was well worth it. I had 2 eggs, 2 link sausage, grits (haven't seen these in a while) 3 wonderful pancakes and coffee. Jamie (my lady friend) had 2 eggs, home style potatoes, and chicken apple sausage with water. The wait staff was friendly, courtesy, professional simply incredible. Considering the cafe was full our breakfast came out fast and was hot. Approximately half way through breakfast the owner came over enquiring if everything was ok which of course it was beyond OK! Came here for brunch on a Monday, and it was surprisingly packed. I ordered the two egg and three pancakes($7) that came with three pieces of bacon. Everything was pretty good. I tried some of my friend's food and I fell in love with the biscuits! They were warm, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The hashbrowns were also pretty good. The woman is very nice, personable and friendly, the man is no nonsense and just wants to get your order and leave, no small talk. The biscuits are very good; warm, delicious, and definitely homemade, with soft butter and a selection of jams. The hash browns were not homemade, but were still just what I needed. This is probably one of my favorite spots in the city. It's like Cheers to Norm, the Monks to Jerry and George, and Central Perk to Chandler, Ross, and those other white people. I paid over $14 for a cheeseburger and fries here (average pricing for this in our city), but I had them confused with Bean Bag Cafe just a block down. When I asked for a little side of Jalapenos, they wanted to charge $1.40. The burger was tiny in comparison to other burger joints. The bun was squished and looked like buns from a dollar store. The meat tasted like those frozen premade patties. The fries were frozen crinkled fries. This place has a lot of business and must have excellent breakfast because there was nothing special about the burger, but it was just ok. At Bean Bag Cafe, for just a few cents more and a block down, it has a larger fresh burger cooked to order from rare to well done and did not charge me for a little side of jalapenos, hot sauce, etc. I should have taken a picture, but I was starving and did eat the "ok" smaller-than-average cheeseburger. read more

However, it is very polite and speedy. While they do try to turn the tables quickly due to the small space, you can still get away w reading the newspaper and getting your coffee topped off. Quality/price: One of the cheaper breakfast options in SF by far. We ordered the Denver omelette. Very bland. Hash browns very bland. Everything was just mediocre. I actually could make a much more delicious breakfast at home. The decor is unique, like an old fashion diner and the coffee is served in various mugs which is cool. Cash only btw. Not impressed AT ALL the food is just so bland and basic in a city with so many food spots. Oh and they lost the ticket for one of our meals. The server apologized but good service would have offered something off the bill or extra biscuits while he sat there and waited for them to make his food while the rest of us sat there with our food getting cold. read more

Like the previous reviewers have stated, Eddie's is run and staffed by the friendliest group of Korean folks you can find, but you'd never know it based on the grub they sling from the kitchen. It's your standard fare of eggs, bacon hash browns, sausage and pancakes... all served up as greasy as The Situation's impeccable coiff. You won't find bottomless pomegranate mimosas or omlettes with crème fraiche, rather just quick favorites from the country kitchens of yesteryear. No frills, no fuss... and totally affordable. On any given weekend you'll see a pretty wide cross-section of diners. From old people who wake up every morning at Eddie's, to hipster kids in flannel shirts, to people you'd probably feel unsafe walking towards in a dark alley after midnight. But somehow, they all blend to make a rather harmonious eating occasion. I'd be remiss not to mention the sweet coffee mugs they slam on your table to immediately fill with the freshest Folgers money can buy. Sometimes it's a dinosaur mug, sometimes a Betty Boop cup... and if you're lucky, the mug that resembles a pair of naked women's breasts. Hey, this is a great place for Brekkie right on Divisadero street. It is run by older Asians who speak good English, and is small, just a few tables and a small counter. But they cook a great breakfast quickly, and cheaply! I ordered two eggs scrambled, with pancakes, and bacon to go, and I was in a hurry, like I-got-to-go-in-5-minutes hurry. They cooked it up, got it in a take-away container, and got me on my way! I think it was about $7.99! Great neighborhood place for that weekend breakfast!
