We had the family dinner delivered, again. It was all burned, again. Months ago we switched to Magnolia because of burned chicken. Then Magnolia sent a meal so completely burned, we couldn't salvage anything. It was dry and hard to the bones. They did not refund us. I stopped using El Polo Loco for about 5 months and decided to try Alameda again. 12 piece meal and could only salvage a little next to the bone. I don't know if I even want to hassle a refund. It's all very sad. Is there one out there that doesn't burn and then let it sit and dry out for deliveries? Might as well add that I wasn't (and never am) given the specific salsa I request. The corn tortillas were broken in half because they were folded in half! They are too delicate to do that to! Couldn't make a taco out of them, which is how we eat the chicken. read more

Slow, inefficient, .... Did I mention slow and inefficient? Walked in here at 7:05 and at 7:19 I was finally at the counter to order. There were 4 people in front of me and the staff is running around like headless chickens, getting orders wrong and not listening / understanding orders. I work around the neighborhood & so i figured i would stop by this pollo loco to get something to eat. i usually hate getting off to order but i was willing to this time since there is no drive thru. i ordered what i usually get which is the avocado chicken burrito. but since they have this new birria menu i just wanted to try one taco instead of purchasing the entire meal and not liking it. the box which is 2 tacos, 1 consome is like $8. the 1 taco is $3.29 which i didnt mind since im only trying. the gentleman taking my order said the consome would be free, but it wasnt (which is fine, idc). what got to me is the guy putting the orders together. his name was Joseph. he literally questioned my order and asked why i only ordered 1 taco and the cashier told him because thats all i wanted. and he goes " well she's not getting the other stuff.. well whatever... thats her problem. " like seriously? thats so rude and disrespectful especially considering that everyone can hear you. i guess the upside is they got the food ready fast. so if you dont mind hearing them talk shit about you while they prepare your food, this is the place for you. read more

Been an El Pollo Loco fan for many years. I do love their chicken. I prefer mine cooked a little more well done', since I enjoy that charbroiled flavor. I really enjoy eating frequently at this location, mostly during dinner time. They have a very friendly staff. The supervisor Fatima is always very friendly, and provides tremendous customer service with a smile. And the other staff that work at the front counter also do a great job...including Rose, Gregory, Marina and their GM Blanca. Also the cooks on the back line really do an excellent job preparing the food. Issa, Felicia and Jasmine really take pride in preparing the food, and it shows. I'll continue to come back to this location. I just wish they would bring back the Citrus Vinaigrette salad dressing and the black beans side dish. They were delicious. read more

I would stay far from this store. I personally witnessed the manager of the store prepare food then go work the register, touching various items including the counter then go back to preparing food. I did not however witness any hand washing taking place in between. They also will not take responsibility for drinks for to go orders, so if you ever have anything delivered from them from a delivery app, stay away from ordering a fountain drink. Nobody at the store filled that drink cup, but probably touched the inside of it as well as the lid. Several people probably did. The one positive is that you will get plenty of standing time in as they usually take a long time to process any order, even when not busy. You could order ahead, but you usually just wait a good while waiting for an employee to acknowledge you so it really doesn't save much time. 1 star is generous. read more

Three star at best. I usually love eating from El Pollo Loco and I completely understand the pandemic issue limiting functionality and comfort. But today's experience has no excuse. I ordered a family meal 16 piece with three large sides and two kids meals Mac and cheese with chicken taco and a tostada. The only thing that was right was the tostada. The chicken was almost burnt to a crisp, one whole large side was missing, my kids tacos were missing as well and there was only one person in front of me so it's not like they were busy. The cashier was some young kid who looked like his parents forced him to get a job and didn't have a good attitude either. I'm truly dissatisfied in the meal and I looked bad for bringing this subpar meal to my family. If the manager cares at all, they will try to make it right. read more

Their new computer teller system duplicated my order number and I ended up getting someone else's order. When I returned to get things that were missing they explained that I and another customer had the same number. They took back the bag and cup from me then handed it to the other customer after I had touched the contents, the drink cup, and the salsas. On Saturday before Fathers Day I stopped by. What made this visit excellent was the young Latino man at the counter. He was so jovial. It was hot and a customer asked how they were doing. He said it's no problem for them and that a repairman was on the way to fix it. She was ordering a family meal and he took the time to tell her about options that she didn't ask for and was so grateful to go with his suggestion! Although they have kiosks, he didn't hesitate to help those of us who prefer a warm human interaction over a computer. His positive energy and willingness to be helpful with a smile makes this our only choice for Pollo Loco. The double chicken tostada and new chicken bowl were yummy and a great offer in the pollo loco app! I'll be returning for the same family meal the other lady purchased. Automation removes personalization and that human touch spoke volumes. Everyone was smiling as we waited for our orders as he set the tone. This place never opens on time, usually opens around 10:45- 11:30. When it's says that they open at 10am. Also this location can never get my order correct, I'm always missing 1-2 things every time. I ordered 4 BRC burritos from this establishment and the employee politely (or so I thought) offered to give a 4 burrito discount, little did I know this was no discount it was increase in my price. When the price showed up on the register, I was appalled at the price! I did the math in my head and my suspicions were confirmed! This man was scamming me! I questioned the man and said "Four BRC burritos by itself would only cost $12 however with this "discount" it costs $25, the employee tried to tell me I was mistaken, however I would not have it, I said cancel my order good sir, this is an outrage! I ordered over $185 worth of food yesterday for a luncheon. My luncheon was at 12:30 so I ordered the meal online at 9am, paid for it and had the time set for 12pm. I got to the restaurant at 12pm and nothing was done. They said they're finishing it up and almost done. Well 45mins later, I walked out. They handed me bags and I checked for my items. No salsa, no tortillas no catering salad, no dressing. I was very pleasant to the women yet they barked at me when I would ask if an item was in the bag that wasn't in there!! No sorry no nothing. They helped all the small orders and I'm standing there like an idiot for 45mins. This went to Drs at St Joseph's Hospital, they requested El Pollo. Never again. read more

I'd give this location no stars if I could. They mess up my order every time I go to this location. They had to remake my tostada THREE TIMES. It was wrong when I walked in to pick up my order, then I stood there for 20 minutes patiently. Meanwhile I watched them throw away my receipt and then ask me what I was waiting for again. They made it wrong a second time and that's when I asked to speak to the manager. She had to go in the back and remake the tostada after I showed her the order on my phone.
