My husband and I have been coming here for 20 years; very convenient place, great food, good service, BUT the last few times the food is ok, but the service not so much. However, about an hour ago we were driving by and THE PLACE IS CLOSED! Avoid until Stay At Home is over because at best you will get a screwed up order and at worst they may kill you by violating the rules. I ordered online as I had gone here regularly in the past. Ti show up to pick up the order and the cashier had no mask, and he was wiping his sweaty head in a cold room. Clearly, he was sick and not covering his face. I had paid online, so I figured I would not need to touch him. I restated the order of mixed grill 10 piece special and confirmed they added 6 large hot sauces. He said they did. They give you the order in a sealed bag, which seems smart. But, it discourages you from digging through the order. I get home, and they gave me the dark meat crap, and a couple small salsas. Not the large size and none of what I asked to have. They totally screwed up my order. I sent an email and tried to contact the manager by phone the next day, but no response. This type of issue should have received a response immediately. I will likely report this to the city on Monday. read more

Had a great experience with El Pollo Loco curbside pick up just now. We ordered the Pollo Bowl combo with chips and a Diet Coke. My wife could not add salsa condiments online so she called after putting in the order. When I arrived and tapped that I was here they came out in less than a minute with the drinks and bowls ready to go. The sweet young lady made sure to tell me that she had put in ten salsa and ten avocado salsa little containers. When I got home the family was very happy. The coke was extra carbonated, the bowls were substantial, and the chips were plentiful and tasty. Seriously great deal for $5 per combo. And we used every salsa we got! Awesome!!! read more

I used to love this location because of the friendly staff. Now they have new faces that don't greet you or looks irritated when you ask them for anything! It's kind of hard not to ask when everything is not available at the restaurant now. I get that they can't have the salsa bar out. If that's the case, don't look irritated when I'm asking for several salsas! And really do you think 4 little tiny salsa will be enough when you order 12 piece family meal?! If you're that irritated then make the salsa containers bigger, have the napkins out like it used to. I shouldn't feel uncomfortable or be treated this way period. And most of the time chicken is not cooked all the way so I have to end up throwing some pieces out. I don't want to risk it with undercook chicken. read more

This location is always my favorite since the parking lot is huge. Its always clean and the chicken here is made perfectly. I wanted to call attention to Tiffany. She is extremely friendly and calm at the register. I was a little hard to understand since I am losing my voice. She handled me with no problems. March 27, 2:54PM. This location is so hit and miss. When the staff is paying attention, the service and food are amazing. Most recent experience was a disappointment. Placed an online order and went to location to pick it up. There was in order sitting behind the cashier. I went to the pickup area and had a difficult time getting help. Finally they asked if I was picking up an order. They were unable to locate my order-they didn't check the package right behind them. Was told it was being made. I watched the preparer just restocking and cleaning not preparing orders. I waited 12 more minutes and then the crew looked at the order that had been sitting there the whole time. They checked it and gave it to me. No offer to remake it so it was hot and fresh. They sarcastically said to enjoy my meal. Such a disappointment. read more

Place was filthy. The salsa bar was filthy and looked liked it hadn't been cleaned for hours. The person who took my order was okay but nothing special. Food was luke warm at best. I'm sure if health dept tested food temperature that they wouldn't pass. Had to heat up food when I got home to ensure food was eaten at the proper temp. Won't be back. read more

I'm disappointed that my original chicken bowl was really only a bean and rice bowl. When I addressed this issue with Julieta, seeing a teaspoon she claimed they put 3 ounces which was clearly questionable. If I could give a half star I would. God forbid you go during a lunch rush, you will get a sloppy version of what they have on the menu. My chicken avocado taco had one tiny chunk of avocado and no cilantro dressing. I guess they can call it an avocado taco if there's ANY kind of a piece of avocado in the tortilla. I also got the wrong burrito, which I didn't realize till I left the premises. I went back to get the correct one and got a very very rushed sloppy version of the burrito, AGAIN with a spec of avocado in it. They really shouldn't call it a chicken avocado burrito! If you can't handle a lunch rush, maybe only let so many people in at one time. Won't be back, a waste of time and the food sucked! read more

I love this place when i need a quick and cheap meal. They have a lot of $1 mexican food items like chicken soft tacos, cheese quesadilla, bean rice and cheese burrito. I always pour the green sauce from the condiment bar all up on my tacos.. the pico de gallo isnt bad either. Every now and then they send out coupons for buy one get one free meals or discounted meals. We got 2 chicken meals (breast and wing) with (2 sides) mashed potatoes and mac n cheese for under $10 but it wouldve normally been like $15 not bad. The chicken was really moist and the food is always hot. Yes this location gets busy and sometimes you just stand around waiting for your order number to be called but trust me i have seen worse. For the price and many menu items you cant really beat it. I think it is better than a lot of other fast food mexican places. read more

Avocado Bacon Chicken Tostada salad! Remember those 5 words and you will not regret it. Fresh grilled chicken breast, pinto beans, romaine lettuce, chopped bacon, fresh avocado slices and pico de gallo salsa in a tostada shell. It's di-freaking-licious. Oh, and I can't forget.... get the cilantro dressing with it! Since childhood I've always been a fan of El Pollo Loco. Thought it was pretty decent, always had nice staff, was always relatively clean. When they added bacon avocado and shrimp tostada salads to their menu it took my opinion of the place to a new level. Since then all I've ordered were these salads! They give a pretty handsome size and equally proportioned amount of food, and it's not ridiculously greasy like a KFC restaurant so I don't feel like I'm eating something bad when i come here. Came here for dinner last week and had their chipotle chicken burrito, huge burrito like a kids arm, loaded with chicken chunks, beans and rice plus had their Mac $ Cheese, truly enjoyed the portion given as a add on to a combo. The chicken tostada salad is so great you don't even need dressing! Just mix it up and add a little salsa (I also add the guac sauce! YUM!) The cashiers are always friendly and speedy. I actually ordered online from this location. On Labor day i had some friends over and wanted delivery. I ordered onEl pollo loco's web site from this location. My total was 51.94. When i submitted my order i saw that it changed to pickup. I searched the web site for anyway to cancel or change the order there is no way to do that. I called this location and was told that the they have no control and cant cancel the order. So i had 52 dollars stolen from this place, will never spend money there again. I really should be a law that if you can order from a site then they should have to provide a way to cancel or change the order. hope they get sued some day. read more

As a "regular" customer to this location, I finally felt compelled to leave a review. Let me start by saying the service here is always great. The staff working at the front counter either Rose, Nancy, Shani, Marina or Joseph all do a terrific job. And whenever I get a chance to speak to the GM Blanca, she always is very pleasant and professional. Especially if I have a special request for something like extra condiments. I'm a big fan of the char-grilled chicken along with the occasional Pollo Chicken Bowl. And I've become a big fan of their Citrus Vinaigrette dressing for the side salads. It's even better than the Creamy Cilantro dressing, but that's just me. Overall, the place is kept clean which is always important. The only down side I would mention, is that at times service can be a bit slow, but it's usually do to being short staffed during that particular time. Which I notice happens at a lot of food establishments these days. Good help is hard to find these days, especially in food and hospitality service. But this El Pollo Loco location is the exception.
