Delivery service was quickly and on time. They gave me salad and breads but I didn't try both of them. It's huge big meat sauce spaghetti and I was surprised how they're big then I expected. As everyone know when order spaghetti or pasta anywhere in USA, huge big but it's really biggest I ever tried. Meat sauce spaghetti tasted was ok but definitely not the best. Spaghetti was a bit over cooked and of course I fully understood when I ordered noodles for to-go. I wouldn't recommend this place but i would order other menus again if I don't have to choice any of restaurant at late night. read more

Since Galaxy Dinner is pretty much in the heart Hell's Kitchen, I have literally stumbled into this diner after having a few beers and cocktails. We all know that greasy food is the perfect food for soaking booze. I will say that the service team is pretty accommodating. During my visit, I noticed that one of my favorite cheeseburgers was no longer on the menu. She asked me what went on the cheeseburger and asked the guys in the kitchen to prepare it for me. Our food came out hot and pretty fast. Although I have been to Galaxy a few times, I have eaten only burgers so I cannot comment about the other things served here. Well . . . I had a really bad experience here this morning. We arrived at around 11:45. Waited at our table until about 12:15 to even have water brought or our orders taken. It was busy but there was plenty of staff. Food arrived cold (cold eggs, cold bacon that tasted like dog treats, cold hard toast). We watched our food sit at the counter for over 10 minutes before it was brought to our table. Completely unacceptable. Portion was also ridiculously small but it didn't matter because it was too cold and gross to eat anyway. There are better options elsewhere. read more

Visiting here in February, just before the lockdown, I found a homely, comfortable place where I could relax for a little while. I'm not one to go to high-end restaurants, and those along Restaurant Row seemed to be better for groups. I'd just driven down from Boston so I was looking for comfort food. The staff were amazing, greeting every customer and having a genuine conversation with everyone. It was like someone had transplanted a Brooklyn family home into Hell's Kitchen. The washroom was small but meticulously clean, I spied workers checking in every fifteen minutes or so. Missing Greece, I ordered a gyros-style wrap with fries and a coke, and the portion size was so big I managed to only eat half, the rest being saved for a walk through Central Park the next day! This is a very nice diner. We went there for a pre-matinee brunch. The interior is nice and clean and modern. There were two unisex bathrooms. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with peppers. It was more like a platter (too messy to eat as a sandwich). In any case, it was very good. The prices are definitely pre-pandemic (very affordable). This is a very nice humble diner on the west side of the very expensive Midtown dining district. Tonight on February 7, they had a large selection of special entrees and dinner salads in the $19 to $21 range. Those are their everyday prizes with sandwiches cheaper. We three ordered the ahi tuna special over salad greens and other vegetables, grilled chicken over various stir fried vegetables and grilled mustard chicken with salad. Stopped in for lunch with 2 colleagues. We were seated quickly and warmly. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which was perfectly melted delicious- AND they offered six different cheeses for the sandwich!!! My colleague ordered a Greek salad with chicken and stuffed grape leaves - it was delicious and easily enough for two people for lunch. Diner in Hell's Kitchen we stopped in on our walk towards Central Park. Prices were kinda all over the place. Was very crowded but we were able to get a seat without a wait. The owners and workers were very serious it seemed and very particular where certain people sat. My buddy and I joked that they were the mob of whatever nationality they were. Of course we were joking so if the owner is reading this please don't put a hit on us for blowing your cover :) All in all it hit the spot for brrakfeast on our trip to Central Park. It's kind of small but it is located in a very busy part of Manhattan. The breakfast dish I had here was good and I also got a fruit smoothie that took a while to get (in fact, I wasn't sure if they forgot about it or not) but was really good. I even got to take it home with me. It's kind of noisy and crowded on a late Sunday morning; I thought I'd been here before years back but maybe I hadn't since I didn't see where I'd written a review before & I was extremely good about doing reviews on everything way back when. It was our second choice diner, which seems accurate. One thing I did notice is there was more of a NYC native feeling to this place than you'd get in most venues around here so you may like the authenticity of staff and the general vibe. For all of the gimmicky diners in Hell's Kitchen, Galaxy's claim to fame is it's most unique night time decor. There are stars all across the ceiling glowing in the dark, making the dining experience more of a cheesy one than a cosmic one. The food is hardly out of this world and the service is a galactic blunder, making this diner no different than Pluto, a nearly forgotten blip on the space map. Virtually ever meal here has been consistent. Consistently disappointing. The service has never been warm (is it really that cold outer space?) and a bit overly pushy when busy. I used to consider coming here during the late night hours, but thankfully the area blossomed with way better options. Delivery here could also use a dose of warp speed. Galaxy's absurd dependence on their theme to compensate for their inability to distinguish themselves from the other diners is borderline pathetic. Forget the bland burgers or their super huge lackluster salads. Breakfast combos are spendy and their sandwiches are all but memorable. With extreme hestiation to patronize as I never like diners for poor quality of food and lack thereof customer service. My Italian burger was okay to be engulfed in a minutes from hunger which the beef was somewhat juicy. Albeit, the Mozzarella cheese was not fresh nor plentiful embedded on the bread but the burger was okay laa3. Staff is somewhat attentive amid the numerous attempts to hail their attention servicing our requests. Separate checks for our party of fifteen were formulated without agita from Galaxy, and the noise volume is reasonable to uphold an in-depth conversation. Space is okay with oak walls of dim lighting. Facitilites are decent with a misery sink basin and no toilet paper on the wheel. Priced moderately for diner standards at one entree without any drink under $15.00 ish. read more

Been here twice, and I've been happy with my food choices, service and outdoor atmosphere. For a diner in the city, prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. First time I had the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and it was amazing! Huge plate. My husband had a patty melt which he completely enjoyed. Fries were on point and side salads as an appetizer too. Enjoyed the endless Club soda refills! I'm addicted, I can drink that all day jaja 2nd time around, we went with friends and not one had a complaint. If I recall, one of them had the open chicken with roasted vegetable sandwich. She's an amazing cook, knows what is good food and she loved it! Not a bite left. This spot was in the neighborhood we were staying in and we decided to give this place a try. All the places on this street seemed to have a long wait for brunch. This place had a relatively small wait. After putting in our names and waiting about 20 minutes, we were sat at a table outside. The waitstaff seemed to be running this place really efficiently. I really wanted to try the pancakes but we were walking the Brooklyn Bridge and didn't want to get bogged down. I elected to go for protein and ordered the 2 eggs and hash browns. I was eying the option underneath to get that with sausage, bacon and ham for $3.50 more. Sadly the waiter informed me that each of those things are $3.50 more. It is worded in a way that looks like it includes all of them, sort of like a "deluxe" option, so keep that in mind. I ordered a side of sausages. The food itself was really good. The eggs scrambled perfectly and the hash browns had a kick to them. The toast was, well... toast. The sausages were a lot bigger than what I had at any other diner. They were good. I've been a loyal customer for years, followed them since they were "Georgio's"! Food is usually good and I order from this restaurant a lot. They are a bit more expensive than average but since portions are big you can sometimes get two meals out of one entree. Today though, I am very upset. Ordered the grilled mushroom appetizer along with an entree. I have ordered the mushrooms before, usually as a side with pasta for around $4.99 extra, today I ordered it separately for about $9 and I get like 5 mushrooms and some goat cheese with lettuce thrown over to disguise this embarrassment A side for $4.99 is a container of mushrooms filled to the brim but a whole appetizer is 5 mushrooms? Seriously??? You should be ashamed. If you didn't have the ingredients call me to cancel that part of the order. I'll also add I was quite sick after eating one of their dishes (it was super oily but it tasted ok) a few months ago but chalked it up as a one time anomaly. Oh and they keep not including bread no matter how many times I ask for it. You spend almost $40 for an appetizer and entree they can't bother to include bread when I specifically ask? Great breakfast stop that won't break the bank. Servers & staff were on top of it and they always had your coffee cup full. There is no need to pay $20 for an omelette in NY. I'd been mourning the loss of Giorgio's, at 53rd and 9th, when I recently walked past Galaxy, and noticed the menu on display looked very much like Giorgio's. Sure enough, many of the staff here used to work at G's, and the menu is almost exactly the same (perhaps with a bit of inflation here or there). Words cannot express my happiness, as G's had been my regular breakfast place. Speaking of which, the breakfast specials, available until 11, are a great bargain, including in their prices not only coffee but a small glass of fresh-squeezed juice. My favorite is the Western omelette, which I ask for with pepper jack or feta (extra, but who cares?). Love the just-right squishy home fries, too.
