    New and specials menu board
    Phil C.

Hiyori is a fantastic local spot for Japanese and Korean cuisine, specializing in lunch and dinner boxes, sashimi, and rolls. I've dined here a couple of times already for lunch, and each time was a delicious and pleasant experience. During a recent visit, I ordered the unagi and rice lunchbox, which came with plenty of extras, including sashimi, mixed tempura, small plates (bachan), salad, and more! It was a very filling, delicious, and worth-the-price meal. I'm looking forward to trying other menu items here. The drink menu includes your standard sodas, as well as beer, soju, and sake. The specials and new menu board also display the latest offers. The staff has been kind and attentive. The dining area is clean and reasonably spacious. Accommodates solo, couples, and small groups nicely. There's some light music playing, which is soft enough for easy conversation. I'll be back!

Hiyori is a Korean-owned Japanese restaurant (I believe) with a clean, small space that always feels homey and welcoming. I love the variety of menu options and the sets they offer, everything looks good and tastes delicious. Service is great as well. Always a pleasant dining experience.

Great place for lunch! Bright & clean ambiance with live seafood tanks in the background. Sashimi Bento Box (4/5) - The sashimi consisted of tuna, halibut, salmon, albacore, seabass? (or some sort of white fish), tamago, and cooked shrimp. Fish was fresh and paired well with their red sweet sauce. This bento box came with a variety of sides and banchan - salad, rice, tempura, oyster, octopus salad, California roll, gyoza, and fried tofu. Soy Marinated Crab Bento Box (4/5) - If you're feeling adventurous, try this! The crabs are raw, and are marinated in a sweet savory soy sauce. You squeeze out the crab meat onto your rice & enjoy. This bento box came with the same sides and banchan as the sashimi bento box - minus the oyster but with a side of sashimi added instead (salmon & tuna). Uni (4/5) - Not the best quality but still delicious & sweet! Get it for a little extra oomph to your meal. They also have a takeout option for the bento boxes, which has a nice presentation! Service was friendly and efficient, even when it was crowded during their lunch rush.

Small space, but the food was great with generous portions. We had the eel bento and baked salmon roll, and both were delicious. The server was also very kind and attentive.

One special thing about this place is their tuna-only set. If you're a tuna lover and nearby, it's worth trying. I just wish the side dishes served with the tuna set had a little more variety. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly.

Hiyori does it again! The sashimi lunch bento was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back and order it again.

Amazing sushi! Fish tastes fresh. Ambiance is great with 90s kpop music playing in the background. Generous portions. Staff warm and welcoming. Will be back again!

If you want fresh and quality sushi for an affordable price, come visit Hiyori for their lunch special. For around $20 each box, you get some tempura, sushi, sashimi, and much more! They got a live fish tank near the entrance that goes to show how fresh some of the fish are. Service was amazing and the restaurant is very clean. Definitely will come again.

    Tuna special for only $78?!

These 1-3 star reviews are hilarious. And I'm glad ppl didn't like their rolls and bento boxes. This spot specifically says Specialty in live fish and tuna. Maybe people should try chef's specials? He has a white board of what they got for specials. I tried their tuna course for $70+ and I'll say that no one in Cypress area is doing what this place is doing. Side dishes weren't the best but still good enough for nice warm up round of drinking. They offer many different kinds of soju (even stronger ones that goes well on the rocks). I get the hate. Sure maybe the service isn't great and maybe this isn't a sushi roll place to go. If you want sushi roll and bento boxes, I recommend Kabuki and fish in the bottle. But if you are really trying to eat sashimi, this spot is definitely the place to be. I just hope the quality doesn't go down! The owner was super kind and allowed us to try different cuts!

Really nice. I haven't been here since they had a grand opening. And the inside changed with more intimate booths. They also have lunch specials which are pretty good price. I got the chirashi bowl and it came with a good amount of fish for the price. Also has side dishes and miso soup. The service is also very fast. I want to come back to try more items on the menu.

This place is insanely delicious. Everything they do is done well. I truly could not recommend it more.

i love the amount of fishroe they give for the lunch special

Yoooooooooooooooo! Ive been coming here ever since I discovered this spot about 2 years ago and still haven't tried all the dishes yet. But so far I have tried the fish roe rice lunch special which I love the most because of all the flavor the fish roe brings when its combined with the rice and they aren't stingy with the amount of fish roe they give like some other korean seafood places. Another thing I like about the lunch special is it comes with a good amount of rice, 3 random sides, small miso soup, tempura and sashimi for $24.99. I typically always order a soft shell crab with that or another appetizer with my meal but typically I can never finish it and still have enough for a 2nd meal. I have also tried the fish roe soup once and its not as spicy as what people say on the reviews and its really wasnt to my liking so Ill stick to the fish roe rice lunch special instead. I also love the sashimi but I wish they just a but thicker for the price were paying, also love that they have some japanese rolls but wish they add more options for the rolls, the service was great and always very friendly and ambiance is your normal small korean restaurant type of vibe. I would definitely come back here as much as I can!

Hiyori is a small Korean styled sashimi restaurant. Small but mighty flavors (and service)! I come here often and love their sashimi combo. It comes with different seafood appetizers, sashimi, fish, soup, salad, and more. The best part is the "Korean dessert" at the end - the scorched rice soup and spicy fish soup to finish the meal. They also have a tuna special that's very very delicious. Yummy!! Recommend!!

Good food, slightly expensive. But the service was sub par. They can do better with their attitude towards their customers.

I sometimes get a free appetizer sometimes I don't. I've seen other tables get it when I didn't, so maybe they are selective. I went in today and got 2 rolls and a miso soup but the miso soup never showed up. It was on the bill but she removed it when I explained I was no longer interested when she gave the bill. My biggest issues with this location is the amount of menus to look at upon arrival. Service is always hit or miss. I can't say I've ever seen the same person taking orders in times I've visited. I do always see the owner or manager sitting at a table but never any interaction with ppl or service. I would say my biggest gripe with this place is when you get your bill to verify your tip amount. The bill gives you suggestions at 18%~22% but they aren't true amounts. I'm good at math and 20% of the bill says say $7 but the real 20% would really say $5.50. I would pay the higher amounts when the service was great but again it's been hit or miss service wise. I will still tip with poor service because ppl still need to live and it's getting harder and harder these days. Again I can say I've never had any complaints about the food itself but I hope the service will eventually get better.

The house sake, served cold was a perfect pairing. We didn't stop there! We also ordered: Jalapeno Yellowtail - love the sprouts garnish with the jalapeño oil and ponzu to finish off. Three amigos roll - spicy scallops roll, cucumber, avocado, tuna, albacore. Perfect to share. Yummy scallops! Got our veggies in with sunomono cucumber salad and veggie tempura. We started with the shishito peppers and takoyaki, and the takoyaki was easily some of the best we've had. It came out piping hot, perfectly crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy inside. Since it was such a hot day, we ordered the Hiyashi Chuka (chilled ramen) and the Oroshi Soba Combo with grated radish and tempura. Both were super refreshing and exactly what we were craving. The Hiyashi Chuka had a great balance of flavors with fresh toppings, and the soba was light, chewy, and paired really well with the crispy tempura. The hot tea was a nice touch, and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. We also loved how extensive the menu is. There are so many Japanese comfort food options that we'll definitely be back to try more. If you're looking for authentic Japanese food in the area, Gomen is absolutely worth a visit.
