Lazy Dough is this interesting café located on fourth Street in the LBC. The design of this establishment is very nice. They have very nice interior seating, as well as a very nice outdoor patio space. The way this place works is that you go inside and order what you want. You can do this is one of two ways. They have a digital ordering station, if that's your preference. Or, you can place your order with the staff member at the front counter. Your choice. In terms of the food, it's all very interesting. They have some pretty nice choices. What they offer is kind of unique takes on a traditional Americana and beyond. The main thing about this restaurant to keep in mind is that they have a very extensive drink list. Whether you want lattes, cappuccinos, chais they have a lot of choices. I mean, really a lot of choices! The only downside to this café, if you want to call it that, is that this is a population location. From this, if there are a lot of people in front of you, having put in their order, you may have to wait awhile to get your meal. Overall, this a nice café that offers some good food and a lot drinks.

We found this spot on instagram and had to try out yet another great restaraunt on fourth street. What got me was the breakfast burritos that they served, and thats what i maintained my focus on for the morning. Its a very nicely decorated place and there is a lot of seating inside and some out on the patio. They had a lot of pastry made and their coffee options were wide. Since i was getting the burrito, my wife tried out the steak and eggs because the eggs were prepared sunny side up. Her skillet had mushrooms and onions which flavored the meat even more. Her potatoes were all right. The ones in my chorizo breakfast burrito were better as hash browns, and the Chimichurri sauce went well with every bite i took. We decided to try out the strawberry croissant that had custard and slices of the fruit inside. Every bite was fantastic in that pastry and i cant wait to have it again at my next visit. They definitely get busy on a weekend so come early and enjoy whatever calls to your hearts and minds.

Came here for a birthday brunch before a couple activities in Long Beach and this spot didn't disappoint! I absolutely loved the vibe of the place. You order at the front and you take your table stand with the number and they bring your order out to you. They have plenty of seating indoor and outdoor but the parking situation is limited but there's street parking all around. They make all of their pastries in house daily and i definitely recommend trying something that's made in-house I ordered the Beef Bulgogi Burrito and a Banana Matcha. My date ordered the Eggs Benedict Croissant Sandwich and a Strawberry Matcha. Eggs Benedict Croissant sandwich 5/5: The croissant was very flaky and light, you can tell it's made in-house with how it wasn't tough like some croissants out there. Swapped the Canadian bacon with regular bacon and it was fire. The eggs Benedict idea inside of a sandwich was new to me and I'd definitely order it again. Just be careful with the yolk, it might just explode on you lol Bulgogi Burrito 4.5/5 The only thing I'd change about it is the way they roll it, it affected the ratio of egg to tater tots and meat per bite. Other than that, the actual ratio of ingredients was great, the mango salsa they give on the side is fire, and the Aji sauce (tastes like the Peruvian green sauce) was ABSOLUTELY FIRE I had to get extra sauce because I used it on literally every bite. Strawberry matcha 5/5 This was my pick, the balance of matcha to strawberry was great, definitely would recommend this Banana Matcha 4/5 This was a great pick as well but I feel that the banana overpowered the matcha

I have visited this place several times, and it is always a great experience. The staff works incredibly hard and the person I assume is the owner is there alongside his staff. They offer both a traditional register and a self-service kiosk, which is convenient if you prefer placing your order on your own. There is plenty of seating available, both indoors and outdoors, making it a comfortable place to dine regardless of how busy it gets. The food has been consistently tasty every time I have visited. I would especially recommend trying the strawberry matcha and the egg skillet. Both are solid choices and worth ordering.

Recently was in the area and had the chance to try this spot. Really loved the place, super cute decor. Drinks i dont know about since I didn't get any but food wise, I loved. The avocado toast was so delicious, and the hot honey pepperoni pizza was good as well. Hopefully I find myself in the area again and I can try something new. Service wise i think it was good, you can order on your own at the front and the drinks come out pretty quick. Food did take a bit longer but it was very busy.

Back at Lazy Dough. Today was extra busy. So, i had To circle around the block a couple of times before finding street parking. I ordered my favorite dish on the menu. The steak and egg skillet. The steak is always tender, the egg is cooked to perfection, the garlic herb potatoes were crispy and delicious and the miso mushroom sauce tied everything together really well. I also tried the popcorn chicken curry and the bbq wings. The beverages were refreshing. I got to chat with the owner. She is super sweet. Another fun brunch at Lazy Dough. The space is cozy, the atmosphere is electric. Excellent food, excellent company, excellent service. I highly recommend.

The kindest and most hardworking staff! Everything is made in house so the quality of their food and drinks is absolutely amazing! I love the variety of coffee and matcha drinks- the Pina colada matcha is a must try! And their burnt ube cheesecake was to die for! I love the fun, colorful and inviting decor, and there's a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating! Definitely check this spot out next time you're in Long Beach

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Charming spot with good food, service, and amazing drinks. My 2500th review! Apropos that it should be a local business that I love. The hubby and I'd been wanting to check this place out for months after hearing all the good things about it, and we finally got our chance for brunch on a Wednesday. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. We ordered: - Ube Coconut cloud drink (a clear, slightly sweet coconut-y drink with that distinctive purple ube cream on top--SO refreshing and delicious!) - Ube latte (a delicious cafe latte with Ube cream on top) - avocado toast for me (it's one of those avocado toasts that's a little extra, with micro greens, tomatoes, eggs, and great seasoning) - hubby got the croissant Benedict (croissant came out a bit well done, but was delicious. The side salad was welcome for cutting some of that richness) The service was friendly and prices reasonable for the high quality. We had a very pleasant visit and are now fans. I came back a few weeks later for that Ube coconut cloud, it was so good! Also got some of their decadent garlic cheese breads to go. Can't wait for the next time!

We got the classic cheese bread and the house drink. Both extremely sweet. Food always fresh and rich. Service is great but they are very busy so still be prepared to wait, even for to go. It was very crowded and packed like sardines so I got mine to go. They definitely could use a bigger location, you can barely get in and out of the entrance, was chaotic in the waiting area

my coworker and i wanted a sweet treat for lunch and decided to stop by lazy dough after searching for different bakeries, and we both really enjoyed the pastries here! i got the dubai croissant, and i felt like this was perfectly sweet and had a good amount of filling on top and inside the crispy croissant. grateful they don't skimp on the pistachio cream and kataifi! i was too full to try the other pastries, but they all looked pretty good too. parking is pretty hard to find here since there's no dedicated parking lot, so just beware that you may have to find street parking or park in the one spot that they have available!

    Dubai latte, mocha, black coffee
    Ruby M.

The food is good. Is it "oh my god I've never had anything like this before" good? Not necessarily I think its expensive for the portions/quality that they provide. The pastry descriptions sounded good, but they are pretty small so I didn't get any. The market kale salad comes with ciabatta bread which is something I haven't seen before of other restaurants. The toppings are creative, but easy to replicate. I also ordered a black coffee, which didn't come completely full, and there were no refills lol. Coffee was ok, not the best quality. My party also ordered a dubai latte and mocha for drinks, the dubai latte was creative. Popcorn chicken, patty melt & breakfast burrito were good but nothing impressive. The service was slow, but I respect how they got their kids working and serving plates lol, teach em young! I do like the atmosphere though! It's a place where you pay first & then go sit down. So definitely a more relaxed feel in that regard. Overall I think its worth a shot, but personally not my first choice.

We recently visited this spot in Long Beach and had a great experience. The line was short, the service was friendly and efficient, and everything felt smooth from start to finish. We especially loved the matcha--the mix of matcha with orange juice was unique and absolutely outstanding. Definitely a refreshing and memorable drink!

Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! Not to worry, her Blueberry Lavender Latte was also top-notch, with a smooth, not-to-sweet flavor combination. I started with a cup of their beef and barley soup. My wife and I both make this at home from scratch and we're both impressed by theirs. My wife took a taste of mine and instantly ordered her own. Very rich and flavorful. I kept looking at photos of their take on chicken and waffles and knew I had to try it. Seriously epic and was good as it looked. They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. TLDR; It's expensive, and not worth the routine visit, but worth the one-time stop in to experience the festivities. The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think it's something that is worth the visit if you've never been and you enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.

It's right in Belmont and one neighborhood away from the water. Great date place and bar too. 2026 update: This breaks my heart. The menu has changed, the chef has definitely changed and service has unfortunately gone down. First off they cut a good portion of the menu and the physical design is not the easiest to read. (that's not really a problem tbh but it's something to note) What is the problem are the following: Ordering food for 3 took 20 minutes for servers to come, get food, and water + drinks we ordered. food took almost 45 minutes to arrive at the table. I get the kitchen makes a lot of stuff but this is crazy. at this point we were here for over an hour without eating. Not only were the orders wrong but also food portions were noticeably smaller. Credit due here, they fixed that (ofc which takes an extra time). Final straw here: To get someone's attention, get the bill, then for them to come get the bill, pay, and give us our cards back took: TWENTY MINUTES. Just to pay. tldr: food prices went up, staff not attentive, food still decent but different chef. Food is noticeably saltier. Training can be a little hectic some times when you're in the service industry and sometimes it can slow service down. Our server Ben was on it. We had the grilled artichoke, chicken piccata, and the cioppino. All very very delightful. During our dining experience I needed to use the restroom. The smell in their bathroom was amazing. Probably one of the best smelling restrooms I had ever. When I was leaving, I politely ask the hostess if she knew what the name of the smell was bc it was so awesome. She wasn't telling me the exact name. She essentially told me the essence. While in the middle of her talking, a female manager aggressively told us that they were not aloud to tell patrons the scent. Hey, I get it, but as a person who was a manager for one of the highest ranking upscale casual dining restaurants, who has worked in 5 star resorts, knowing how to provide kindness to both guests and staff, this manager did not present those skills. This manager was quite frankly disrespectful not only to her staff, but to me. There is a way to handle situations without embarrassing your staff member and making them feel small and showcasing your flex of power to a diner who was about to drop hundreds for a dinner in our volatile economy. This manager did NOT handle this appropriately. Like i said, she was rude, extremely aggressive to respond, and not once smiled and said, "I'm so glad you love it. It's our secret to get you to come back." She did try to say it was a secret, but seriously... with the way she treated her staff.... I think she better focus on hospitality rather than the scent in the bathroom. After this interaction, I actually watched and observed the manager during the remaining time of our dinner. I wanted to see how she interacted with her staff. I wanted to see if she knew how to manage without flexing on her staff bc obviously she doesn't know that words matter and what you say and how you say it can make or break your staff's entire night which can reflect on how they treat their guests. I get this is lengthy over a restroom scent, but as a person who thrives on seeing the beauty in how a management team can make a huge impact on the success of a company, if she's openly rude and aggressive to me and her hostess, how is she with the rest of the staff and guests? Just a little food for thought. I will say, that interaction totally changed my view for the remaining time of our dinner. I truly hope that the female manager who was working last night June 1 reads this and changes the way she handles situations. From what I saw and experienced, she needs to take a step back and regroup. She needs to be retrained on how to treat her staff, how to smile with kindness, and how to kindly make a joke about the scent kindly with laughter rather than an attack on her staff. To the hostess: I'm sorry you had to be treated that way. You were incredibly kind from upon greeting us even to the very end. You're awesome. I'll return back, but I do hope next time, the manager from last night is on a better wave length as the people who help create her position. There are a lot of great managers out there willing to take that place.
