I have reviewed here before but a lot has changed recently and I love it. Firstly I want to point out that Denise (I hope I'm spelling it correctly) gave us the best service we have ever received. She was bubbly and genuinely seemed like she enjoyed working there. She was attentive but not overbearing and gave great recommendations. Even if the food was not good, we would still come back because she made it such a pleasant experience. Thankfully the food is also amazing. I have always been addicted to the triple B and the KFC so I was nervous when I tried the new versions recently. I enjoyed them both more than I had previously. The triple B was smaller but the biscuit had much more flavor, depth and was more pillowy. The KFC had always been my favorite and the new version did not change that at all. The chicken was much juicier, and it had a lot more substance. The chicken pieces were thicker and the sauce was delicious. It's reminiscent of a chicken and waffle dish because I believe the sauce has some sort of maple syrup. The dishes have changed but I'm a huge fan of the change. I will continue to come here and I am glad to see that this place doesn't seem to want to stop getting better. read more

I came here back a couple months ago. This place has a cute vibe with limited food options. I came with a large group of about 15 people and the server was very attentive. I ordered a espresso martini which was okay but tasted a bit watery. The salmon entree was flavourful but the portion was on the smaller end. read more

The menu changes every couple of months, which makes it exciting to come back and try something new each time. The cocktail menu is super creative and just as delicious as the food. This restaurant was on the Michelin guide list. And I know why. Small things apart from the amazingly delicious food. The table has a small hook for hanging your handbags , a place to put your menu and multiple plates/ cutlery for different courses. These may seem trivial but I think high end restaurants must provide an experience which this one does -100%. Every dish was delicious. The pea fritter, you get one in the each serving was so good we ordered a second one. Every dish had small details like my potstickers came with some cherries in balsamic or some other sauce which elevated it to another level. This is a really cute spot! It's got a farmhouse vibe that's warm and inviting, and has a cute patio that's perfect for a weekend morning. I like the fusion and variety of options on the menu, but it makes it hard if you're not in the mood for something specific! I ordered the smoked salmon benedict, which had a perfectly poached egg, crispy English muffin and a generous proportion of smoked salmon. It had a rather light but kind of refreshing flavor. However, I would reiterate that this is more of a tapas style restaurant, so the eggs benny alone was NOT sufficient for a full breakfast. That being said, I think paying $25 (includes tip) for a single Benedict is a little unreasonable, as I can get a full meal (also plus tip) at other brunch spots for $30. I've been to OCK a few times and they usually don't have great vegetarian options but the most recent time I came was much better. They also don't modify any of their food or drinks so there's no way to make a dish vegetarian. I got the elote Mac and cheese which was good. It was kind of sour with a unique taste and had corn nuts type garnishing on the top. It was good but definitely a unique food. I also got the grilled artichoke. It looked good but it was kind of hard to eat as lots of the shells are inedible. I also got the tempura mushroom which was really good. The quantity was a lot too. I got the kiddie pool cocktail multiple times, it was yummy and also so pretty. Service is also pretty good here and parking is in front of the restaurant. Truly delightful experience! The brunch menu is perfect for large groups with lot of shareable options. We setup 10:15 AM appointment to stay ahead of the weekend brunch crowd and it was a good decision. The waiter shared lot of interesting stories with us. The service was friendly and thoughtful. We particularly loved the BBB, KFC, Tot Poutine and Duck Dumplings. Not surprised why BBB is an all time favorite with the amazing honey whisked butter, quality bacon and melt in your mouth bread. Really fun menu in terms of varying options of shareable dishes. I really liked that they were handily categorized. There are so many options it was harder to decide what to order. My fave so far. We tried the garlic noodles and Korean fried chicken. Lastly we had aparagus and a steak that was paired with mushrooms and Gorgonzola cheese. I wasnt a fan of the steak with the cheese because it taste close to blue cheese . It made it overpowering. For drinks I had the Mothman Prodidy. It was good. The last time I came here was about 5 years and it hasn't changed one bit in the best way possible. The food is still just as good as I remembered and we left completely satisfied. Highlights are the garlic noodles, Korean fried chicken, hamachi tataki, Hokkaido scallops, and the grilled artichoke hearts. Service was great, timely, and attentive. Had a dinner here with a friend last night! KFC dish was spot on, very yummy flavorful chicken, pickles on top was a nice touch. Eggs and caviar dish was the highlight of the meal. Great interpretation of an old classic of eggs with hollandaise sauce. Salad dish was fresh with unique addition of pomegranate seeds. Scallop carpaccio was yummy, I didn't fully understand the addition of heavy chips with it. Seemed a bit overpowering for the delicate texture of scallops. I decided to go with Hungarian flat bread this time instead of BBB. Unfortunately, it was a miss for me. Enjoyed the non-alcoholic drinks. Been here many times and the food is always good. Wish I could say the same about the service. We sit quickly but then it takes awhile before we get attention at the table. Once we order it is a hit and miss whether the server comes over so we can get water refills or even to get the bill to pay and leave. The menu changes from time to time. One staple that's stays is the Triple B which is so good. I'm a carb and butter person. The bacon is good too. This time we tried the chicken liver mousse and fig. It is an interesting pairing since I eat pate and French bread often. The chef definitely described it well naming it a mousse since it was light and airy. The flavor was not strong. Tried the short ribs and those were amazing. It was perfectly cooked and the flavor was spot on. The salmon was cooked more than I liked. It was ok. There is always a chocolate option for the he dessert menu. This time I tried the flourless chocolate cake with cherries. It was good. I tried the cheesecake which was described just a cheesecake eh. Fantastic service - our waiter was hilarious. As for the food, the beef bourguignon is absolutely delicious, but it seems more like spare ribs than beef bourguignon to me. It's worth ordering, but the portion size is a little small. The Horcux cocktail is expensive but good - it was just sweet enough to be tasty, but strong enough that you kinda have to sip it so it lasts. I didn't regret ordering a couple of them. read more

Met a girlfriend here on a Friday night for dinner. I found a couple seats at the bar so we stayed there. I ordered the Headmaster's Reserve drink first. Very delicious. My second drink was their Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley. Very light and perfectly balanced. My friend and I split the Biscuits, Bacon and Butter plate. Delicious whipped honey butter. For my entree, I ordered two things. I ordered the Garlic Noodles and the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). Amazing noodles with just enough garlic. The KFC was amazing too. The plates were both plenty to share or have some at the restaurant and then the rest for a late night meal at home. Went here for a friend's birthday and with a reservation and we were seated promptly. We were definitely thrown off at the menu, as we didn't know about the rotational menu. We were excited to try the KFC and noodles when seeing pictures on Yelp, but the menu we got was extremely small and limited. Most of us ended up getting the "Royale with Cheese" burger, and it was a decent burger! It is an extra $5 for fries, but the fries were good. As for the service, our server was really friendly when greeting us, but we saw her only three times throughout our meal. There were a lot of dishes that we had to follow up with another server who brought our food -- he was great at following up on our food and bringing it out! It just sucked a little that we had to ask for our bread and butter board after we got all our entrees. I also got a "steak and egg" which came out after my burger was done.. We were warned that things would all come out as it's ready, but we would've thought our apps would come out first.. not 30 minutes after our entree comes... The vibes were cute in the restaurant though, and we were able to get a free dessert for our birthday girl, but I don't think any of us will be back considering the small menu and mediocre food and service. read more

The avo toast was disappointing. It was super small and we didn't care for the style/flavors. We were told all the plates were shareable but it was like a mini toast. The strangest part about our experience was that we were there for just over an hour, paid our bill and were chatting and then asked to move (with the option to go to another table) since their big party had arrived. I was so disappointed in this place. I saw it on the Michelin guide, and had to swing by. We both got an A5 Wagyu deviled egg, she got a horseradish steak with Brussels and mushrooms, I got the burger. The A5 eggs were horrendous, just a small piece of fat on top of a regular deviled egg but with a bit of spicy. The burger was solid, maybe a 7/10. I love all the vegetables on it and the patty was well seasoned. Can't complain there but nothing at all special like you'd expect from a Michelin guide restaurant She absolutely hated the steak. First of all it came out with like 3 char lines making up 10% of the steak, the other 90% was grey, no caramelization at all. The seasoning on the steak was really good, and though it was cooked medium well rather than medium rare like we asked, I did enjoy it. But it's a steak, pretty hard to mess a steak up bad enough to where I won't enjoy it. The whiskey sour was outstanding though. Also the bread starter was so incredibly hard to tear or cut, they need to supply you with a better knife . I came here on Saturday with a friend for some drinks and food. Man, this place did not disappoint! My friend arrived early and was given bar seating outside. The weather was beautiful and the dining area was clean and lively. Our server was kind to give us time to check the menu and order our bev and food. I got the scallop carpaccio and coco Julius to drink. The scallops were refreshing with purple chips for pairing. The coco Julius was delicious as well. I thought I had reviewed this on my first visit not apparently not. I've been to this restaurant 3 times now. The menu generally changes and it's also a lil diff between brunch and dinner. They live in the 3$$$ space where food is elevated but not fine dining snobby. While the food is generally good, I think it's pricey for what it is. The biscuit dish is what they really known for so that one sticks around. I do love the cocktails tho and that they are generally pretty interesting with good selection. Overall, ock is def a restaurant you should check out especially if it's your first time and you're in the area. I've been coming here for a few years now. I really liked it in the beginning, unfortunately it has been going down for a while now. The prices climb as the quality declines. The service is even worse. Very entitled waitstaff that makes me feel uneasy. The menu changes often with a couple of staple dishes. I don't know if the creativity has died or the main chef changed?
