Soooo good, the cambodian dirt was AMAZING. I'm a huge fan of lemon pepper wings and an even bigger fan of lemon grass in asian dishes. The dirty elvis really does live up to the hype, it's like a teriyaki sauce on steroids. The sweet and spicy garlic was a great bite as well, like a grown up orange chicken vibe. Garlic noodles helped tie it all together. Service was pretty great! It took a bit long to get food but that's only because the place is so popular and gets a lot of customers haha. Food came out hot and fresh, 10/10 i WILL be coming back
I drove from West LA to Long Beach to try these wings. It's a small restaurant located in a small shopping center. Easy parking and I got there around 12. They already had a line out the door. The wait in line was about 10-12 minutes. Not bad at all. The services was fast. The had several flavors and even some deals. The prices were good. Listen I know they are known for wings but also try the garlic noodles and fried rice. There were a few tables to sit down and eat inside. We got the dirty Elvis and Jalapeno wings with garlic noodles plus we added shrimp and shrimp fried rice. I'll definitely be going back to try other flavors.
Shlap Muan is the real deal for chicken wings. I discovered them at Smorgasburg and wanted to visit their sit-down location. The restaurant itself has a few tables, but it gets busy. The interior is no frills, which means they prioritize focus on the food. I got the 2-3 peeps, which includes 16 wings and a large side. I got the garlic noodles, which was a solid and filling choice. There was an option to choose up to 3 flavors for the wings, so I went with Cambodian dirt and wet buffalo. Both were delicious! I will warn you that the buffalos is a bit spicier than expected, and tasted a bit different than what I had at their Smorgasburg booth. Nonetheless, I loved my meal. Overall, I love Shlap Muan's chicken wings. Service was also A+. I'll definitely be back

Their popular Dirty Elvis flavor falls under the wok sauce category (wings tossed in a sweet and smoky caramel sauce). Each order of Dirty Elvis comes with a minimum of 10 wings, but customers can choose a split-flavor option with 5 pieces of Dirty Elvis and 5 pieces of another selected flavor with online orders. For Shlap Muan Wings (pan sauces), customers can order a minimum of 4 pieces per flavor and two highlighted flavors are Cambodian Dirt (lemon pepper) and Water Buffalo. *** Dirty Elvis (10 pieces total - Split Flavor on Cambodian Dirt - $16.00): Those 5 Dirty Elvis wings were absolutely amazing - crispy and saucy. The Cambodian Dirt (lemon pepper) wings were solid, but in hindsight I probably should have just doubled down and gone with all 10 pieces of Dirty Elvis. Shlap Muan Wings (4 Pieces - Water Buffalo, $6.50): The dipping sauce had a good spicy kick, but it definitely will not be everyone's cup of tea especially for people who (1) are not fans of Buffalo wings or (2) cannot handle a mild version of Sriracha spicy level. *** S-tier for the Dirty Elvis wings and A-tier for the Shlap Muan Wings. For anyone who is a fan of Korean fried chicken or even Vietnamese fried chicken like Mama Hieu's, then Shlap Muan Chicken Wings is definitely worth trying.
Came on a Monday afternoon, and the place was packed. The staff here was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making for a great overall experience. We ordered the 2-3 Person Meal ($33) with the Cambodian Dirt and Water Buffalo wings and a side of fried rice. Our order came out super quick, too. The portions were generous for both the wings and the fried rice, making it a great value. These are easily some of the best wings I've had. The wings were perfectly crispy on the outside while staying juicy on the inside. They were very filling, and each flavor was seasoned and sauced exceptionally well. Both the Cambodian Dirt and Water Buffalo had their own unique flavor profiles, and they were equally delicious. I definitely plan on coming back. My only wish is that this place were closer to where I live!
These wings shmack. They don't slap lol. The tamarind wings were crazy good. Fingers were sticky, but totally worth the mess. Parking here is a little tight, as there are many other businesses in the plaza. The fried rice was the perfect compensation to the tasty wings. I had to stop myself from eating everything, because everything was that GOOD. Highly recommend this spot just for those tamarind wings. I am definitely coming back to try the other flavors.
The good: For starters, the wings were cooked perfectly and very meaty. I ordered the 5-6 family pack plus 2 orders of the wok tossed wings and 4 extra wings. We picked them up and ate them the following day. Popped them in the oven and they came out nice and crispy. I bet they are even better when fresh. The sauces and dry rubs were all delicious and flavorful. I live in SD, so I wanted to try all of the sauces. I don't know when I'll be back lol. The side dipping sauces were also really good. The lemongrass ranch, regular ranch, sweet chili, and water buffalo. The not so good: We got fried rice and garlic noodles. They were both supposed to have chicken on them, but they ran out of chicken. We opted to switch them to shrimp and unfortunately they forgot the shrimp on the garlic noodles which we did end up paying for. The fried rice was okay, but kind of bland. It didn't pack the fried rice flavor we were expecting. The garlic noodles were also just okay. They were not as flavorful as people rave about in my opinion. The shrimp were delicious though. They were cooked perfectly, they were nice and plump, and flavorful. We also got a side of fries and they were just basic fries. Nothing bad about them just basic. The bad: Ordering on their website is a pain in the butt. There are wing flavors missing, sides missing, no side dipping sauces to choose from, and overall the ordering platform just isn't very good. Ordering the family pack had no option to choose the sides except fries. It gave options of water buffalo, sweet chili, and orange habanero for side sauces. I chose all three. There were not options to chose ranch or lemon grass ranch. When ordering that amount of wings, you should be able to choose more than 4 flavors too. If I'm ordering 72 wings I want to be able to get all the different options. Even with the 10 person family pack you can on select a certain amount. Packaging wise the wing boxes weren't labeled so we pretty much had to guess the flavors which was a bit of a let down because I would have liked to know what flavor I was eating. The only obvious ones were the wok tossed ones. They also forgot my water buffalo wings. Luckily I ordered some side sauces. Service: I called to ask about the sides and explain the difficulty I was having with ordering. The lady was super nice and said she would update the ordering platform and call me back when it was ready. She did update it, but I never received a call back. I just kept checking the website. Overall: 5 stars for flavor 2 stars for packaging 3 stars for service 1 star for ordering platform. I will go back for the wings, but it will be in store because it took me hours to get the order completed, a few different phone calls, and the order still wasn't right.
One of the best chicken wings I've had in recent memory. So crispy, so juicy... In particular the dirty Elvis is what I dream of in a perfect Asian sauce for wings. Sweet, smoky and savory. Service was impeccable. Was in a little bit of a line but after having the wings, you understand the hype. Only negative was that the AC barely worked and it was a scorcher of a day in late July. However found out there was a Monrovia location closer to home so I'll definitely be hitting that up.
I would give this a 4.5 because of how perfectly cooked and sized the wings were. I wasn't a fan of most of the flavors though, and some wings come plain with sauce on the side, rather than tossed in. I got the Cambodian Dirt, Pekang, Sweet and Spicy Garlic, Water Buffalo, Dirty Elvis, and Tamarind. The Sweet and Spicy Garlic, and Water Buffalo were plain with the aforementioned sauce on the side. I also got a side of the Spicy Elephant sauce which is also another wing flavor. I didn't like that sauce (peanut-y). Water buffalo looked like buffalo sauce but didn't quite taste like it to me. Garlic noodles were alright. My two favorite flavors would be the Dirty Elvis and Tamarind. None were actually spicy. Friendly and quick service when picking up!
I came here on a Friday afternoon, and it was really good. We tried the Sweet Spicy Garlic wings, Dirty Elvis wings, and Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings, along with fries, garlic noodles, and shrimp fried rice. The standout items were definitely the Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings and the garlic noodles. The wings were crispy and flavorful, tasting like a mild lemon pepper without being too overpowering. The spice level was mild, but I'd definitely come back for them. The Dirty Elvis wings reminded me of an Asian-style BBQ sauce, kind of like an Asian zing. If you enjoy sweet BBQ flavors, you'll like these. The garlic noodles were amazing, full of flavor and just the right portion size. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly. The restaurant has a good number of tables, so we were able to enjoy our food there comfortably. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return.
I didn't even have the opportunity to take a pic of the food I demolished that order I made lol I got the 10 pc dirty Elvis , 4 pc spicy dirt wings (taste like a lemon pepper, wasn't spicy but still tasted so good) & the 4 pc water buffalo. all tasted really good however //personally I would go back just for the dirty Elvis but I want to try the other spicy flavors so ill be back soon 8) edit: i came back next day bc so good and i actually took photos this time i got dirty elvis again (still my favorite) i also got jalapeño msg, orange habanero, spicy elephant & sweet n spicy garlic. orange habanero, spicy dirt & water buffalo were our favorites from the non premium menu. all tasted amazing tho so it was hard to decide service is great and the wings come out pretty quick! i walked in and out within 10-15 mins thanks again guys see ya tomorrow
I was at a Cambodian new years event and this restaurant was one of the vendors/booth. I'm so glad I tried it! These are one of the best chicken wings I've ever had aside from my own chicken wings. I got their most popular flavor, dirty elvis and cambodian dirt. Lol. Their most popular wings dirty Elvis are indeed delicious! Its robust in flavor. Its sweet, salty, a little tangy and when its right out of the wok, its even more yummy. Its savory with every bite! The cambodian dirt one had a hint of lemongrass. I think these wings can be a tad bit more salty. The cook was quick! He made those wings for me in less than 5m. These guys seem like a bunch of good, easy going, and nice folks. They were in a small tent but they got the job done! They were in a booth today so I didn't get to try the actual restaurant. Although, I will drop by so I can have a feel for the ambiance and ofc for the wings! Excellent wings, probably my 2nd favorite wings right now after wingz n mi in temecula.
Second time having shlap muan and I honestly think that the first time hit better for me. Cambodian dirt flavor was just okay this time around. Service was nice and quick. The store was kept clean. The menu was easy to read. They are still thriving I see because it was pretty busy while I was there. I'll always support my fellow Cambodians!!
I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Shlap Muan Chicken Wings at the LB Craft Beer Festival! I decided to try the 10 wing combo with Cambodian Dirt (lemongrass pepper) and Water Buffalo (described as "the best damn water buffalo sauce"). Both were delicious! Having dry and wet wings was the best choice to sample a couple flavors. Having anything lemongrass flavored is a no-brainer for me as it's one of my favorite flavors and it was done right! The Water Buffalo was tasty - a bit of heat without being overbearing and the additional sauce was nice to dip some of the Cambodian dirt into. I'd like to try other flavors the next time I'm in the mood for wings. read more

My all-time favs are the Dirty Elvis and Cambodian Dirt. The water buffalo and mango habanero wings were good, but... I wished they were spicier! just not spicy enough. Lol My 8 y/o lil guy loves the garlic noodles after a long day at the beach. I would pack them for him in a ziplock bag. Now, every time we leave the beach, he says, "I wish I had some of that garlic noodle." Customer service is always great! Always loved their service. I miss seeing the aunty face that was always there! Hardly see her now, I hope she's taking her vacations! She deserves it. read more

Shlap Muan is a great example of a restaurant with a tight focus that does that one thing really really well. They have perfected the wing: hot, crisp, and flavorful. And they just keep getting better. Sides? Also great. The small garlic noodles for $5 are a fantastic deal. The restaurant itself is a small strip-mall hole in the wall. But the owners and staff elevate the experience with simple kindness and a desire to build community through food. Go there. Eat good Food. Repeat. read more

I ordered the 8 piece wings with Cambodian Dirt (lemongrass pepper) and Water Buffalo (buffalo sauce) and 10 of their Tamarind Tiger. On the side we ordered their garlic noodles. We ordered the Khmai Tea as well. I really enjoyed all of the wings and the flavors were great and had a nice crunch to them. The lemongrass pepper has a nice tang to it. The buffalo sauce was a bit on the sweeter side, but was really good. The tamarind tiger was great and had the right amount of sauce. By 3pm the flavor was sold out. I thought the garlic noodles and thai tea was average and probably wouldn't order again. I phoned in my order and they had it all done in ~15-20 minutes. The service here was great. I have some mixed feelings on Shlap Muan. The restaurant itself felt a little dirty and kinda haphazardly put together. Staff were friendly! And the food was good, we got two full meals out of the fried rice alone. There is also plenty of parking. No restroom, though, which was a bummer. read more

We got a 10 piece wings in two flavors- Cambodian Dirt ( citrusy tart and peppery) and the Elvis( sweet and savory) dry rub. There's a plaza which should have plenty of parking. The inside is casual looking and you can eat inside with friends or get take out. The staff are really nice and helpful! The food arrived quickly. The wings are juicy and hot. I'm usually not a fan of bone-in wings but these were good. The flavor was strong and good. Not a single note like some other places could be. Although they may have over-applied the flavoring, some spots were a bit overpowering. The fried rice is delicious and rich in flavor. And you get a ton! Definitely will have leftovers or share with others. read more

Finally got a chance to try shlap muan! The dirty Elvis wings were better than I expected, sooo flavorful. The wings are sticky sweet sauce not spicy at all! The Cambodian dirt was a very savory rub, I just blindly ordered them without reading what the flavor notes were. I tasted salt pepper lemon and maybe vinegar? I'm not sure but it was enjoyable! My only complaint is the ranch was terrible, it tasted like hidden valley ranch and did not complement the wings at all! It was also more costly than an average side of sauce. We first fell in love with Shlap Muan Wings during a Yelp event. We love the crispy wings that are full of flavor and the fast and friendly service. We were in the mood for wings and wanted the rest of our family to try it. So we ordered three different flavors of wings, with one being dry and the other two wet. We called ahead and ordered the Dirty Elvis, Cambodian Dirt, and the Sweet Spicy Garlic. She asked when we wanted them ready. I said we'd be there in 5-10 mins. As soon as my husband arrived they were ready and piping hot! All are delicious! But, the Cambodian Dirt was so flavorful and so ridiculously delicious. These wings are dry and a must order. For this experience, I got their wings at Cruel World Fest 2025. While I want to head over to their brick and mortar in Long Beach, especially to try those garlic noodles and different flavors of wings, I did the standard wait in line to order at their at a music fest. The folks that were at the fest stall were very friendly and helpful. The menu was streamlined and had 4 flavors and tater tots. I went with the Dirty Elvis wings. I was told this is a favorite and the sauce is based off a Cambodian/Khmer braise typically used for other proteins. Given the wok treatment to get a very nice crisp and caramelization of the sugars in the sauce from the high heat of the wok. Really delicious. Vibe: It's at a music festival. It was the shortest line of the food options at the time, but I was 100% coming here anyway, so bonus! The line was chill and moved quickly. Low stress. Snacking on these crispy chicken wings while listening to the darkwave, goth-y, deep synth sounds of Clan of Xymox will probably be a new core memory for me! I thoroughly enjoyed the food and I am looking forward to someday getting to try other menu items at the Long Beach location! read more

After seeing countless tiktoks of this restaurant, I knew I had to get there ASAP! There were a lot of options which made it so hard to choose but the service was very helpful which made it so much easier to finalize our decision. After trying the food, we definitely understood why it was rated so high, especially after having The Dirty Elvis and Orange Habanero. The Shrimp Fried Rice was pretty good but it was a bit on the cold side which was a bit of a drag. But regardless, it was yummy and I look forward to returning. read more

Shlap Muan totally deserves all of the hype and reputation they get. These were quite literally the best wings I have ever had in my life. It's been like four days and my husband is still talking about it. And they were affordable considering the quality. You heard it here: a wing shop that doesn't completely eviscerate your wallet is a rare find, but the fact that they are absolutely bomb makes it even better. If you've never been and you're coming with more than just yourself, I recommend grabbing one of their family packs. $30 plus tax gets you 8pc Cambodian Dirt (super complex dry rubs that's salty, tangy, umami, and spiced without a ton of heat), 8pc Dirty Elvis (sweet, spicy, super sticky, and utterly addictive), and a large side (soooooo much garlic noodle). But for real, do not sleep on this place. It has definitely earned its notoriety. read more

I could say one thing and end this review. These wings are some of the (if not the) best wings I have ever had. They are perfectly crispy, nicely breaded, and wildly flavorful. And IF that wasn't good enough, the owners are amazing and extremely friendly. I tried the pekang wings and they are so good alone, but I even paired them with the sweet spicy garlic sauce on the side. It was so good, I placed another order to go and added the jalapeño MSG with water buffalo, sweet spicy garlic, and orange jalapeño sauces. Everything was amazing. This place is highly rated for a reason!! WOW! The flavors of the wings pop, they are generally large and juicy. They have perfected the juicy chicken on the inside with a slight crisp on the outside (even when drenched in sauce/ ranch.) The garlic noodles are a PERFECT accent to the wings; the noodles alone are cravable. It's a small, bright place, you can eat in if you want your meal super fresh, but I prefer to take these home where I can get messy! The service is fast and friendly- it's a hidden gem that's easy to miss by the location but plenty of parking! read more

Have had these delicious @$$ wings and their garlic noodles at the store, Coachella, and Head in the clouds many times. All my friends love them. My favs are the Elvis, Cambodian dirt , and garlic noodles. Cambodian dirt blows lemon pepper from Wingstop for real. Their wings are hella underrated ! The spot in LB is a hole in the wall but they also sell these are Smorgasbord in Los Angeles. I always support these guys when we they appear in any events. read more

I came for the wings--and wow, they slapped. The Lemon Pepper and Elvis wings were both straight-up addictive. Crispy, juicy, seasoned like someone actually cared. I could've eaten a whole tray and still gone back for more. The garlic noodles, though? Meh. A little bland, a little oily, didn't bring much to the table except carbs. I was sad when they shuttered their Pasadena ghost kitchen operation. I was in LB today and decided to check out the main restaurant. Got the 6 cambodian dirt wings and small garlic noodle for $15. When I opened the box I found 7 wings!! Cambo Dirt wings have the satisfying taste and crunch of the American lemon pepper wings but with lighter seasoning (no sauce needed). It's my favorite of their wings. Garlic noodle is also great but could be less salty. read more

oh man... got to finally try this place out!! staff here is so incredibly nice and they make sure to go over all their options and best sellers with you. inside has a few tables to sit and eat at. and food comes out relatively fast! now, for the wings, we got the 16 piece combo with a large side meal and it was perfect for 2 people! their garlic noodles had a lot of flavor and was a generous portion. we got the dirty elvis and cambodian dirt with a side of the water buffalo sauce. the cambodian dirt dipped in the water buffalo sauce was delicioussss!! i've never had a sauce like this before.. you HAVE to try it! dirty elvis was the show stopper for me. wings are hot and crispy and i couldn't help but lick my fingers after the meal. great vibes and service and even more delicious food. will come back if im in the area! read more

This place was recommended by my husband, and I have to say, it lived up to the recommendation. Our order came out in a timely manner--about 20 minutes. The wings were juicy on the inside, generously seasoned, and cooked really well. The portion size of the wing was decent too. We also tried their garlic noodles, which I definitely recommend. They offer a nice variety of drinks, including teas and non-alcoholic beer. The dining area is a bit small, so it can fill up quickly. read more

These wings are the best!! Juicy, crispy, with great flavors. Dirty Elvis is sticky savory and sweet. I don't know if the chilis are decorative but eating these wings with the dry chilis is fire. Cambodian Dirt is a bussin tangy lemon flavor. Ordered on the phone and our wings were ready in 10 minutes. I said I'd try different flavors but those two are so good I've yet to do so. **They seemed to toss in lots of extra wings!!! A pleasant surprise. What can I say I am addicted to wings more importantly I'm addicted to good tasting wings hot or mild sauced or with a dry rub this gal is eating them. This isn't my first visit to Schlap Muan I had them when they used the kitchen to cook the wings in their parent's restaurant they were the nicest people and the food was soo good the same owner Hawk is at this location with more staff and it's a nice clean restaurant. Located on a busy street the with a shared lot the parking can be a bit difficult you might have to circle once to find something. These wings are Cambodian style and that's what made me want to try them. They have a few more food options wing flavors garlic noodles and more since the last time I ate here or maybe they were here and I didn't notice and they all look tasty. Here's what I chose. Shrimp Fried Rice I asked for my shrimp to be fried very crispy and the container of fried rice was packed the rice was fried nicely and the shrimp were very crispy the flavor was on point and the green onions kicked it up a notch I added a splash of soy sauce and a dash of onion powder and it was delicious. 9/10 Sweet & Spicy Garlic Wings Sweet and spicy garlic flavored they truly are wet sweet and savory not that spicy but it's all good my heat level is very high - they were fried well but need more seasoning I added a dash of seasoned salt and garlic powder and they were the bomb and so good. 8/10 Orange Habanero Wings Described as wet fruity & Spicy they put the sauce on the side because it's spicy they give you the option to taste it before you add it on the wings - the flavor was delicious and the sauce had a kick but I didn't find it very spicy I wished I had ordered a side of sauce because it was so good the orange and habanero sauce was amazing I will ask them to make it hotter for me next time I also added more seasonings to the hot wings they needed a bit more flavor and the wings were once again crispy and so so good. 8/10 Mexican coke This bad boy is made with cane sugar and caffeine it was cold and refreshing but now this girl is amped. Lol Good food and great service I will definitely be back to enjoy the Dirty Elvis Wings and the Garlic Noodles. The prices of wings and other foods can get a bit pricey but I think it's worth it and I recommend you try these wings they're amazing Cambodian style wings seasoned and spiced differently and delicious. Was craving some chicken wings and had this place listed. I was in the area and made a pit stop. Ordered the dirty Elvis and Cambodian dirt combo wings with garlic noodles. Combo size was good for 2-3 peeps. Also ordered the jalapeño and msg 8 piece wings. Dirty Elvis was sweet, tangy, and sour 5/5. Cambodian dirt and jalapeño MSG had similar taste profiles, I couldn't tell much too much of a difference (4/5). Garlic noodles were good the next day, I added some lobster and beef to make a dish out of it. Service was quick and efficient. Definitely a place to try when in the area and craving some wings! read more

These wings are the best I've ever had. I had the Dirty Elvis order that was sweet, savory, and so satisfying. We also ordered the garlic noodles...omg, so good! They don't serve alcohol but have good non-alcoholic beers that taste pretty good. The place was packed at 3:00 pm and there's minimal chatter because everyone is busy ploughing through the amazing food. It a great casual place to enjoy great food at a fair price! read more

So glad I was in the area to finally try this place! I've had this place bookmarked for months as wings are my favorite part of the chicken to consume. The wings did not disappoint, and I will definitely be back to try all of the other flavors. I got the meal pack for 2-3 people since it had everything I wanted to try initially. Both flavors were good, but I do prefer the dirty Elvis more. The wok tossed flavor just has everything you want and the wing was still crispy! I'm a big lemon pepper guy so the Cambodian dirt was a must try for me, and it hit the spot. Great tangy lemongrass flavor, but it was just lacking some pepper flavor for me. The garlic noodles were solid and packed with flavor. Service was great and everyone treats you like family! It's a mom and pop gem of a spot, which I always prefer going to. read more

My second visit here so I wanted to try two new flavors that I didn't try last time. The cashier asked me some questions on what kind of flavors I liked. He suggested Jalapeño MSG & Water Buffalo which is a smoother Buffalo style sauce. It was really good! Hi! we do use nuts in our facilities so if its a contact allergy, we do recommend you proceed with caution. with that said, the only thing that contains (peanuts) would be the SPICY ELEPHANT sauce. Hope that helps!
Are your garlic noodles vegetarian?
Just spoke with them on the phone and their Garlic Noodles are NOT vegetarian! They use oyster sauce in it :(
