I've been going to sizzler for quite some time now. This visit however happens to be one of the most unpleasant of the visits. Upon entering the restaurant it was chaotic & confusing to order. While in the process of placing our order my daughter had an issue with a rude customer. But his old age saved him from the incident escalating. The employees were decent. The food was partially good/bad. Things that were good was the Malibu chicken, chicken tenders, shrimp, ribs, soup & complementary toast. Bad items were pretty much the entire salad bar, the stale toppings at the ice cream bar. As well as the fishy tasting fish. I really enjoy sizzler so I'll definitely return to the franchise. Tears... Whenever I eat here it brings me back to my childhood... Decided with my brother to get dinner and got the good ol unlimited salad bar. With inflation lately this place is a good bang for your buck because you can stuff yourself and not eat for the whole day...haha The cheese toast has not changed! We've been coming to this location for years. Located on Harbor just north of Brea Blvd and catty corner from the AAA club, this Sizzler has been our go to value for dinner with family. It's been two years or so since we last came year (pre-COVID) and some things have changed. The salad bar, which used to be my wife and kids favorite, now has less of a selection. The available food handler gloves are a nice touch, though, for those customers who are courteous enough to use it. There's no longer chicken wings or bread pudding or apple crisp. All three favorites of my kids. The steak and all you can eat shrimp had a smaller sirloin and the cut was fatty. The flavor was still there. The signature "Texas toast" now uses regular, thin sliced white bread. Other than that, it's the Sizzler we've always known. COVID has changed many things, and obviously, this restaurant wasn't immune from it. I spoke to the owner, who we've seen many years, and asked him if business was getting better. He said that it's not like pre-COVID, but it's slowly getting better. It got crowded during the middle of our meal and I'm happy that more people are going out and supporting local businesses. To start, the kid who took our order had a serious attitude for no reason. If you don't like working at Sizzler, go somewhere else. This is my first and last time eating at Sizzler. The baked potato tastes like baked drywall. Zero flavor, tastes chalky, and feels overall unsafe to eat. I ate two bites. The steak tastes like it was grown in a lab by a 12 year old. OK, I hate to do this, but three strikes...and you're out, and this was the third strike! It's a special occasion for us...and my wife and I order two Senior Special 6 oz. Sirloin plates, medium. No name tag, but wears glasses with huge black frames, and a complete absence of any manners at all. We order some water, and it comes with no ice in it; kid server, very young, brings it, grins and leaves. Beckon the first waiter. "You didn't ask for 'no ice'? Oh, I'm sorry, they forgot to put ice in it." I told him to forget it as we tried to concentrate on the food, which was good, for the most part. Mine was a bit tough, but that happens with Sirloin occasionally. Baked potato, fine. Salad, fine. BUT: I've visited this place TWICE, and this is the 3rd strike. People, you're out! One star for the food, another for the waiter who tried to set things right, and three no-stars for the screw-ups and the attitude of the waitress. We had our son's 30th birthday party there on Saturday May 25th! It was the best experience ever! We booked the side room for 3 hours from 3-6pm and our guests came and ordered their food and joined us in the room for the party! The sizzler near my house closed this past year, so we took a drive to Fullerton. When we walked in, it was like stepping back in time. This restaurant was packed, just like back in its heyday! It made my heart so happy to see them so busy! We waited in line and I ordered the steak and all you can eat shrimp combo (yes, they still have this!). The steak was ok, a little over cooked, but good flavor. The shrimp were very good and the cheese toast was perfectly toasted. My husband got the salad bar and it was fresh and delicious. I absolutely have never been to a more amazing restaurant in my life. Everything in this establishment was superb. The staff was on point and very helpful. They were quick and accurate when serving food. The steak was cooked perfectly to what I ordered. I was astonished on how amazing the flavor was and how the presentation was. Visiting a Sizzler is always nostalgic for me because I worked at another Sizzler in Fullerton While I attended college. That location has since closed down, but this location seems busy. The order taker and cashier are always very pleasant. The clientele seems to be familiar with all of the servers. The service is always very humble, kind and helpful. Sometimes I called their phone number to order so that this location gets the full credit for the order. But on this visit I brought two friends with me and we enjoyed the nostalgia of eating a Sizzler meal. The food was fresh, served warm and delicious. The building and dinning area is old and tired. The place could benefit greatly from a deep cleaning and some new flooring... at least. The l service here however was great. A skeleton crew at best, they were very attentive, helpful and kind. We did visit close to evening closing time so it was slow... only a few tables occupied. My group ordered steak, shrimp and salad bar meals. Well, this is where things go south. The steak was dry, tough and not all that enjoyable. The size of of the steak was sad... my son said it looked like a sausage. The shrimp had a decent taste but was super greasy and presented in a very lackluster manner. It looked like hospital food. Finally, the salad or all you can eat bar. It was salad ingredients along with some pasta and sauce, some type of "white guy" tires to make tacos attempt at a taco bar, and a few trays of fried mystery shaped food. The salad bar was basic and decent. The soups were ok as well... the rest was sad and uninspiring to look as much less eat. So... the (front of house) staff here tries to do the best with what they have... minus whom ever was in charge of the kitchen that night. There was no heavy demand on the kitchen... it was straight up a huge fail by a chef and/or cook who plain doesn't care. This restaurant needs better leadership to bring it up to a respectable standard. Hire some better staff to run the kitchen and pay them well for doing it. With so few places to patron that serve this type of food... the Fullerton Sizzler should routinely pack the house and make overhead easily. While you're at it... it's time to put a little money back into the dining area and enhance the customer experience... your current and future customer well appreciate it and will return. Came for the bread, steak and lobster. The last time I visited a Sizzler was at least 10 years ago and I don't know why it took me so long to come back. Food -STEAK was ordered medium and it ended up being more on the medium rare side. I didn't mind it, I just didn't really like that it was still pretty chewy 3/5 -LOBSTER TAIL was great! I was scared that it was going to be a bit rubbery and over cooked but it wasn't! I don't understand why some people complained about the size of their lobsters - about 4 bites is pretty normal. Plus, you're not even paying that much!! 5/5 -BAKED POTATO was a great side to the steak and lobster. I didn't like how they put a whole scoop of butter right in the potato though 4/5 -SALAD BAR was just as good as I remember.
