We have continued to use Sun Glow for plumbing needs, as well as electrical work! Sun Glow has now fixed a wobbly toilet, a few additional shutoff valves, and a kitchen sink. All of those times, Shawn was our plumber and he was efficient and helpful. I've had so many plumbers try to sell me on things I don't need, or even if I do, I can't afford. For example, whole home repipes - yes, I realize my CPVC pipes are going to fail but I literally just want a faucet replaced, I don't need a $20,000 home repipe quote and multiple conversations about how I must repipe my home now. Shawn has never done this! He (and the rest of the Sun Glow team) are not at all like the other companies I've referenced, and I really appreciate that. Meanwhile, both Nathan and Josh have helped us with some funky electrical situations, including my bathroom lights deciding they want to flicker for no reason. As someone who is terrified of electrical fires, I truly appreciated the in depth research Nathan and Josh conducted to try to fix my bathroom and reassure me that my house isn't going to catch fire. On to the absolutely immaculate service: A first message within minutes of booking the appointment to confirm from a phone call and message when tech was on his way (that thoughtfully included a photo of the tech so the house sitter knew who to expect and felt comfortable letting him in); A clear informative call from the tech once the issue was identified; Work was done promptly, invoice was paid over the phone and I got a detailed receipt within minutes so I could get reimbursed from my friends. And then while I was still basking in the glory of a problem solved 10x quicker and easier than I thought it could be, their office called within minutes of the tech leaving to schedule the necessary followup visit for when a required part would be in. So we bought a brand new air conditioner from Garoken Energy in Beaverton this January. Installation seemed fine. We didn't run it until mid-June. Our central pump is in the basement and it started leaking water within a week of running, enough that it soaked 4' of a brand new carpet. We found out that Sun Glow had purchased Garoken and assumed the service responsibilities. We had them out once and thought the problem was solved but it became a bigger issue. Then the day before the second visit our system wouldn't cool at all. Our service person both times was Jeff and he totally knew his stuff. He broke apart everything, cleaned and sealed the system. Bottom line Garoken's installers did a horrible job. Sun Glow honored our warranty and did not charge us. Now we have a system that's been the best in the ten years we've owned the house. Shawn from Sun Glow did an excellent job replacing our hall bathroom vanity shut off valves, and fixing our leaky faucet. I was amazed at how organized and efficient he was. I had taken a look at the problem earlier thinking it wouldn't be too difficult, but realized it's not easily accessible and the older plumbing didn't look like something to not get done right, and have more issues later. As a skilled master plumber, Shawn completed all the work in about an hour, and was very neat and respectful of our home. I was thrilled to see the new shut off valves which are very smooth quarter turn valves, to replace the outdated knobs which no longer completely shut off the flow. I had been told it appeared I may have a leak starting from the shower drain into my crawl space. I called Sun Glow Plumbing. Michael came out. He went into the crawl space and said he found no evidence of any leaking. He said the crawl space was clean, no musty odor or odor of animal occupation. I asked him to check my kitchen sink drain, as it was backing up into the other sink when draining large volumes of water. He found some build up and cleared the pipes. He was very professional and honest. He charged me the quoted price discussed at booking time. I felt the price quoted was very reasonable. I appreciated the honesty and no attempt to up charge me. We just had another great maintenance visit for our A/C from Sunglow. Chris was very professional and took his time testing and cleaning everything. We bought our first furnace from Sunglow when we moved into our home. and Just over 20 years later we had another one installed. In those 20 years we never had an issue. We had our A/C installed about 15 years ago. It did have breakdown while we were gone on vacation several years ago. We came back to a heat wave and our house was 88º inside. Even with the high volume, the Sunglow repair guys got to us and had it fixed within 24 hours of the call. These people know their stuff. Backflow inspection: Shawn has been doing our backflow for years. He always gives us great service, plus he is friendly, professional, knowledgable, and prompt! He thoughtfully showed us how to look at our water meter to check the little blue dial that can alert you that you have a leak. LaShaun & Nathan fixed an issue that we were having with our Carrier furnaces for over 2 months, narrowing it down to a gas-pressure problem that we couldn't figure out even with the other 2 other HVAC people that we hired previously.
